Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, says she won’t discount the use of executive action to begin implementation of reparations for black Americans. Speaking with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) yesterday, Harris was asked whether she would use presidential authority or defer to Congress to create a commission to study proposals for financial restitution.
“I’m not discounting the importance of any executive action,” Harris said. “But ultimately, Congress, because if you’re going to talk about it in any substantial way, there will be hearings, there will be a level of public education and dialogue.”

The National Pulse reported earlier this year that Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is floating reparations in the form of exempting black Americans from federal taxes for a set period. “One of the things they propose is black folk not have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time because then again that puts money back in your pocket,” the freshman Democrat said.
Crockett’s proposal received immediate pushback, with the lawmaker eventually acknowledging that black Americans reliant on government assistance already pay little to no federal income taxes, meaning an exemption would do little for them.
The Texas Democrat is not alone in her push for reparations, however. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY)—ousted in a primary earlier this year—has pushed for the government to print $14 trillion for black Americans and give prisoners and felons the vote as a form of “reparations” for slavery. Additionally, Democrats in New York established a commission to study how the state might implement slavery restitution in late 2023.
Harris, who is of Indian-Jamaican heritage, is herself the descendant of a notorious European slave owner.

Jonathan Anthony Caravello, a professor at California State University Channel Islands, was arrested by federal agents during a raid at Glass House Farms in Ventura County, California. The raid led to the arrest of more than 350 illegal aliens, with allegations of forced labor, exploitation, and trafficking violations involving 14 children.
According to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, Caravello was charged with a violation of 18 USC 111 for assaulting, resisting, or impeding a federal officer. A number of far-left activists attempted to claim that federal agents had “kidnapped” Caravello; however, Essayli revealed that the professor was arrested for throwing a tear gas canister at law enforcement.
“Professor Jonathan Caravello was not ‘kidnapped’ by federal agents. He was arrested for throwing a tear gas canister at law enforcement,” Essayli said. Caravello appeared in court on Monday and was released on a $15,000 bond.
The California Faculty Association (CFA) labor union defended Caravello, stating, “Jonathan is a deeply committed educator and mentor who showed up for their students and immigrant communities—and for that, they were targeted.”
Bodycam footage reportedly showed Caravello throwing a tear gas canister at agents and resisting arrest. He later returned to the scene in different clothes and was identified as the alleged canister thrower. The affidavit also accuses him of using a megaphone with siren sounds to disrupt the ICE operation.
The raid, which is believed to be the second-largest single-state U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) worksite operation in history, saw violent clashes between ICE agents and approximately 500 protesters. Some protesters waved Mexican flags, and one individual allegedly fired a handgun toward agents. Federal law enforcement used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Immigration authorities are now analyzing the criminal histories of the 319 detained illegal aliens, while the rescued children, primarily from Mexico and Honduras, are in care.

❓WHAT HAPPENED: A major data breach involving the personal details of Afghans who applied to relocate to the United Kingdom was leaked, leading to the creation of a secret relocation scheme for around 24,000 largely unvetted migrants. Some reports indicate the numbers could swell to over 100,000 if they are allowed to bring their relatives through so-called “family reunification” chain migration.
👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The British Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Secretary John Healey, and Afghans affected by the breach.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The breach occurred in February 2022, with its existence kept secret via a so-called “superinjunction” gagging the press.
💬KEY QUOTE: “The superinjunction had the effect of completely shutting down the ordinary mechanisms of accountability which operate in a democracy.” – Mr Justice Chamberlain
🎯IMPACT: The secret scheme has relocated 4,500 Afghans to the United Kingdom so far, with many either poorly vetted or previously rejected for relocation. Another 17,000 Afghans affected by the breach have been invited via a separate scheme, with 14,000 already in the country or in transit.
IN FULL
Thousands of Afghans have been relocated to the United Kingdom under a secret government scheme following a significant data breach in February 2022, which exposed the personal details of Afghans who applied to travel to Britain. The breach occurred when a Ministry of Defence (MOD) official mistakenly e-mailed a spreadsheet containing sensitive information “outside of authorised government systems,” according to Defence Secretary John Healey.
The leaked information included names, contact details, and family information of Afghans who applied for the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) scheme, intended to help those at risk from the Taliban after the group’s takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021. The government had the courts impose a so-called superinjunction, or “gagging order,” to prevent the press from reporting the breach or the scheme to relocate Afghans impacted by it to Britain. The order was only lifted on Tuesday by High Court Judge Mr Justice Chamberlain.
The secret relocation scheme, called the Afghan Relocation Route, has so far cost £400m and is projected to cost an additional £400m to £450m (~$536m to $603m), raising the total cost of Afghan relocations to an estimated £7 billion (~$9.4 billion) over five years. It has facilitated the relocation of 4,500 Afghans to Britain so far. Of another 17,000 Afghans impacted by the breach, 14,000 have been brought to the country or are in transit under a separate scheme.
Some reports indicate the relocated Afghans will be eligible to import their relatives through “family reunification” chain migration, swelling the influx to 100,000-150,000.
Defence Secretary Healey offered a “sincere apology” for the data breach and described it as a “serious departmental error.” Notably, many of the Afghans brought to Britain under the scheme are poorly vetted or previously had their applications rejected, with the leak of their information being the only reason they are considered eligible for relocation.
In his ruling, Mr Justice Chamberlain expressed concern over the superinjunction that covered up the fiasco, stating that it created a “scrutiny vacuum” and undermined democratic accountability. He added, “The superinjunction had the effect of completely shutting down the ordinary mechanisms of accountability which operate in a democracy.” The government, under both the incumbent Labour Party and the previously governing Conservatives (Tories), had fought a two-year legal battle to try to keep the press gag in place.
The MOD has declined to confirm whether anyone has been fired or otherwise sanctioned over the scandal, with the Metropolitan Police confirming it will not ask prosecutors to bring any charges.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This is a huge win for the President, who has the foresight to make this issue a priority.” — Senior White House official
🎯IMPACT: The agreement is a significant victory for President Donald J. Trump’s America First agenda and could signal Apple is inching away from China.
IN FULL
President Donald J. Trump has scored another major win for his America First agenda, with Apple announcing it is set to commit $500 million to developing the United States’ only current rare earth minerals mine in Mountain Pass, California, operated by MP Materials. The deal also signifies a significant commitment by the U.S. technology sector toward developing domestic supply chains, with other major Silicon Valley players expected to follow Apple’s lead.
Apple’s move comes after the company has been subject to extensive criticism over its business ties to China. Apple has been accused of investing tens of billions of dollars in developing a high-tech workforce for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The agreement will also see Apple invest in two new recycling facilities at MP Materials’ Mountain Pass facility. These facilities will allow rare earth minerals to be re-extracted from electronics and reused in Apple products. One senior White House official told the media, “This is a huge win for the President, who has the foresight to make this issue a priority.”
Meanwhile, the Trump administration has also cleared the way for new rare earth mineral mining operations to commence. Last week, U.S. Energy Secretary Christopher Wright was in Ranchester, Wyoming, to celebrate the opening of the country’s first new rare earth mineral mine in 70 years, which will soon be operational. The Book Mine, operated by Ramaco Resources, is being billed as a key part of the continued decoupling of the U.S. from China.

The creep tried to snatch a young child but tripped and took off running. He was later found by police.
Incompetent: After a court-ordered evaluation, Galligan was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Galligan will instead be sent to a mental health treatment facility.
Back up: Galligan was previously placed on the sex offender registry after being convicted of non-consensual sexual contact. He’s been in and out of jail for 12 years.
Did I mention he’s trans too? Galligan began hormone treatments in 2011 and publicly identified as transgender.
Backlash: DA Amy Padden, a Democrat, has faced fierce backlash for her decision to let Galligan skirt jail time.
Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky, a Republican, is leading a recall effort, saying her “progressive attitude will not be tolerated.”
The last word goes to Solomon’s own niece, who told reporters: “This has been like the fourth time… How the hell did he get released?”

📍WHEN & WHERE: United States, July 2025
💬KEY QUOTE: “He knows people are upset. And I do believe we’ll be seeing more soon.” – Lara Trump
🎯IMPACT: The comments are intended to calm calls for action as public scrutiny intensifies over Epstein-related secrecy and the Justice Department’s response.
IN FULL
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald J. Trump and former Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chairwoman, said Monday that more information related to deceased pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities will be released, offering reassurance to those who believe the Trump administration is not revealing the full story.
Lara Trump told podcaster Benny Johnson that President Trump is aware of the frustrations voiced by many of his supporters and Americans generally, acknowledging, “There needs to be more transparency. I think that will happen. I know this is important to the President. He is frustrated.”
“He is going to want to set things right. I believe there will be more coming, and anything they are able to release, they will try to get out. They hear it and understand it,” she continued.
“To anyone worked up out there, there is no plot to keep this information away. I’m sure we will know down the line,” she added.
The comments come amid backlash against Attorney General Pam Bondi, responsible for the Department of Justice (DOJ), which recently released dubious video footage from the jail where Epstein is supposed to have committed suicide and a memo claiming no “client list” for him exists. This is despite the fact that Bondi had claimed a client list was “on [her] desk” just a few short months ago.
America First stalwarts such as WarRoom host Stephen K. Bannon believe President Trump should appoint a special prosecutor to handle the Epstein case, with the DOJ and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) having lost the public’s trust.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The terminations were announced via email in July, affecting judges in Massachusetts, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, New York, and California.
💬KEY QUOTE: “I wanted to ride it until the very end. I wanted to keep adjudicating, reviewing these cases. I figured as long as I am here I can do some good,” an anonymous activist judge told NPR.
🎯IMPACT: The decision comes amid a growing backlog of nearly four million immigration cases, with concerns raised over the ability to enforce immigration laws effectively.
IN FULL
A number of immigration judges across several states received termination notices last Friday, informing them their employment would end on July 22. This development marks another round of personnel cuts within the immigration court system, amid the Trump administration’s intensified efforts to expedite the removal of illegal immigrants.
The judges, all nearing the completion of their two-year probationary terms, were notified through email. According to a copy of the message, the decision was made under constitutional authority: “Pursuant to Article II of the Constitution, the Attorney General has decided not to extend your term or convert it to a permanent appointment.”
According to the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), the union representing immigration judges, the layoffs will impact judges stationed in Massachusetts, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, New York, and California. The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), which oversees the immigration court system under the Department of Justice, declined to provide a public explanation for the dismissals, although many conservatives believe activist judges twist the law to allow as many migrants as possible to stay.
A judge who was among those let go told NPR, anonymously, “I wanted to ride it until the very end. I wanted to keep adjudicating, reviewing these cases. I figured as long as I am here I can do some good.”
The dismissals arrive despite Congress recently allocating over $3 billion in funding for immigration-related operations—a package that includes money to hire more immigration judges. The backlog of unresolved immigration cases now nears four million.
Judges have attempted to thwart President Donald J. Trump’s deportation plans over and over again, often blocking deportations to certain countries. In one case, a judge even hid an illegal alien from being detained by immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents. She now faces charges related to the incident.

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to proceed with plans to scale back the Department of Education, overturning a lower court’s injunction.
👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, U.S. Supreme Court justices, Democratic attorneys general, and U.S. District Judge Myong Joun.
💬KEY QUOTE: “We’re going to be returning education, very simply, back to the states where it belongs.” – Donald Trump
🎯IMPACT: The decision clears the way for layoffs, program transfers, and a reduction in federal oversight of education.
IN FULL
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to continue its efforts to scale back the Department of Education, lifting a lower court’s injunction that had blocked mass layoffs and the transfer of department functions to other federal agencies. The decision marks a significant victory for the administration’s push to reduce federal involvement in education and return control to the states.
The Supreme Court’s order reversed a ruling by U.S. District Judge Myong Joun, who had reinstated nearly 1,400 workers and blocked the administration’s plans. Judge Joun, appointed by President Joe Biden, argued that the layoffs and program transfers would “likely cripple the department” and prevent it from fulfilling its statutory duties.
In March, President Donald J. Trump announced his intention to close the Department of Education “to the maximum extent” allowed by law, transferring responsibilities such as student loans to the Small Business Administration and special education services to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Trump emphasized that core programs like Pell Grants and funding for students with special needs would be preserved but managed by other agencies.
“We’re going to be returning education, very simply, back to the states where it belongs,” Trump said at the time.
Critics, including Democratic attorneys general and education unions, claimed that the shutdown could delay federal aid disbursement, harm anti-discrimination efforts, and undermine the collection of critical student data. However, Trump and his supporters argue that the department embodies bureaucratic overreach and that education decisions should be made at the state and local levels.
The legal battle continues in lower courts, but the Supreme Court’s decision allows the administration to proceed with its plans. The downsizing, led by Education Secretary Linda McMahon, aims to reduce the department’s workforce by half compared to its size when Trump took office.

🎯IMPACT: The Epstein issue has deepened divisions within the GOP and provided Democrats with a political opportunity to undermine the Trump administration.
IN FULL
Democratic lawmakers are ramping up calls for the release of all files related to Jeffrey Epstein—despite having little interest in the deceased pedophile financier’s case when Joe Biden was in office—and accusing the Trump administration of withholding information. Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX) announced plans to file a resolution demanding the release of the files, stating on X: “Either [President Donald J. Trump] and his acolytes fueled the rumors of the significance of these Epstein files to help his campaign, or something is there! Put up or Shut up!”
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) also took up the issue, writing, “Why are the Epstein files still hidden? Who are the rich & powerful being protected? On Tuesday, I’m introducing an amendment to force a vote demanding the FULL Epstein files be released to the public.” Meanwhile, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stirred controversy by suggesting past allegations against Trump were complicating the matter.
Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA), who is running for re-election, chimed in, “[Trump] promised to release the Epstein files. Did anyone really think the sexual predator president who used to party with Jeffrey Epstein was going to release the Epstein files?” Ossoff said during a campaign event, referring to E. Jean Carroll’s contested allegations against the America First leader.
Conservatives are divided over the issue, with some, like WarRoom host Stephen K. Bannon and investigative reporter Laura Loomer, accusing Attorney General Pam Bondi of mishandling the case, while others, including Trump, defend her. “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB – SHE’S GREAT! The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 – That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more,” he stated on his Truth Social platform.

🎯IMPACT: China’s trade surplus hit $586 billion in the first half of 2025, but auto exports to Europe fell sharply due to higher European Union (EU) tariffs.
IN FULL
China’s export activity surged in June 2025, rising 5.8 percent year-on-year, an acceleration from May’s 4.8 percent increase, driven by a rush of overseas orders ahead of the looming resumption of steep U.S. tariffs set for August. Customs data released Monday also showed a 1.1 percent increase in imports, marking the first such gain this year and indicating a tentative rebound in domestic demand.
However, while overall trade expanded, exports to the United States continued to decline, down 16 percent from a year earlier. “Tariffs are likely to remain high and Chinese manufacturers face growing constraints on their ability to rapidly expand global market share by slashing prices,” said Zichun Huang, an analyst at Capital Economics.
Chinese auto exports to the European Union (EU) also slumped nearly 38 percent, largely due to the bloc imposing higher tariffs on electric vehicles—despite criticizing the Trump administration’s use of tariffs. Auto parts exports also took a hit, falling more than 23 percent.
Some firms are benefiting from the administration’s efforts to make it more expensive to buy from China rather than American manufacturers. Ford, for instance, has adopted a ‘From America, For America’ policy that has boosted quarterly sales.

🎯IMPACT: The policy could streamline deportations, making it easier to remove migrants from countries whose governments are uncooperative on accepting returns.
IN FULL
A newly revealed memo from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) outlines a policy allowing for the deportation of certain migrants to third countries when their home governments decline to accept their return. The directive, which is marked as effective immediately, was issued by Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons.
Under the new guidelines, ICE may carry out deportations with as little as six hours’ notice in urgent or “exigent” situations. The memo describes a process to address longstanding challenges where some countries refuse to cooperate with repatriation requests.
Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem described the initiative as a critical tool for removing individuals with serious criminal records. “It’s incredibly important to make sure we get these worst of the worst out of our country,” she said. She also noted that the U.S. State Department has negotiated arrangements with nations willing to temporarily accept migrants until their original countries agree to take them back.
The policy follows a recent Supreme Court ruling that allows the federal government to proceed with third-country removals, even in cases where diplomatic guarantees regarding safety—such as protections against torture or persecution—are not fully secured.
DHS has not released the full list of countries participating in these third-country transfers, but officials emphasized that each case would be reviewed individually. Supporters of the policy argue it is necessary to ensure the removal of migrants within the immigration enforcement system, especially for those with criminal convictions.
