New York Magazine correspondent Olivia Nuzzi initially denied her failed attempts to begin an affair with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The 31-year-old – known to former colleagues as “slutbag” – lied to her magazine Editor-in-Chief David Haskell when pressed on the matter.
Haskell was the editor who first published E. Jean Carroll’s ludicrous account of being raped by Donald Trump in a public area at Bergdorf Goodman.
New York Magazine, along with Haskell and Nuzzi, are currently declining to comment on the allegations. However, a spokesman for Kennedy adamantly denies claims that Kennedy informed Nuzzi’s boss by boasting about intimate photos of her.
Last Thursday, New York Magazine placed Nuzzi on leave pending a third-party investigation, citing concerns over potential conflicts of interest. The magazine insists that an internal review found no errors or bias in Nuzzi’s published work.
Nuzzi, formerly engaged to Ryan Lizza, POLITICO‘s chief Washington correspondent, has yet to discuss the details of her “personal relationship” with Kennedy publicly, although she denies it was physical. Lizza confirmed that their engagement was off after the news became public knowledge.
In the wake of the scandal, Kennedy, who is married to actress Cheryl Hines, was not present at a family wedding in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
Kennedy’s acquaintances claim Nuzzi, 31, pursued him aggressively.
