President-elect Donald J. Trump is poised to name Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta as the United States Ambassador to Italy. Fertitta, who acquired the Rockets in 2017, is expected to join Trump’s administration after the inauguration on January 20. Currently valued at $10.9 billion, Fertitta has amassed his wealth as chairman of Landry’s, a corporation that includes a range of hospitality businesses such as casinos and restaurants, including Morton’s, Del Frisco’s, The Palm, and recently New York’s iconic Keen’s.
Born in Galveston, Texas, Fertitta is of Sicilian descent, which may inform his new diplomatic role should the nomination be confirmed. This would not be the first timeTrump has appointed a sports team owner to a diplomatic position. During his previous administration, he named New York Jets owner Woody Johnson as Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Trump’s forthcoming appointment of an ambassador marks another significant decision in his emerging administrative lineup. In addition to Fertitta, Trump has also announced Kimberly Guilfoyle as the ambassador to Greece.
Italy is a key ally for the incoming Trump administration. Populist Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has emerged as one of the most powerful figures in the European Union.
As Italy’s first female prime minister, Meloni’s government has been relatively stable by Italian standards. Despite her eurosceptic reputation, she has maintained a good relationship with the European Commission. Critics, including War Room host Stephen K. Bannon, have at times accused her of selling out to the globalists in Brussels.

A group of pro-Hamas protesters threw barriers onto a roadway and attacked police, causing chaos and disrupting the final leg of the Tour of Spain, or Vuelta, bicycle race in Madrid on Sunday. The chaos led organizers to abandon the race with about 50 kilometers (~31 miles) left, as protesters opposing the participation of the Israeli team, Israel Premier Tech, broke through police barriers and blocked the course.
Authorities announced that two people were arrested and 22 were injured during confrontations near the finish line. An estimated 100,000 people were on the streets during the protests, according to the central government’s representative for the Madrid region.
“We regret the events that took place during the final stage of La Vuelta 25,” Spanish Vuelta organizers said in a statement, adding: “Despite all the efforts made by the organization, we were unable to conclude the stage as planned due to the unfortunate incidents that occurred in Madrid.”
Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard, who was leading the overall classification going into the final stage, was declared the winner of the Vuelta, but the customary podium ceremony was canceled. “It’s a pity that such a moment of eternity was taken from us,” Vingegaard remarked. “Everyone has the right to protest, but not in a way that influences or endangers our race.” Teams later organized a private podium ceremony to allow riders to celebrate.
The race became a diplomatic battleground, with pro-Hamas protesters interrupting several stages and demanding Israel Premier Tech’s expulsion. Spain‘s left-wing government expressed sympathy with the protests, while Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar criticized Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, a socialist, for encouraging the demonstrators.
Madrid’s right-leaning mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, called Sunday’s events a sad day for the city.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The big Trade Meeting in Europe between The United States of America, and China, has gone VERY WELL!” – President Trump
🎯IMPACT: A deal could save TikTok from a U.S. ban, while addressing national security concerns and trade disputes with China.
IN FULL
President Donald J. Trump announced on September 15 that an agreement to keep TikTok accessible to users in the United States has been reached with China. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the recent U.S.-China trade discussions in Europe had gone “very well” and would soon conclude. “A deal was also reached on a ‘certain’ company that young people in our Country very much wanted to save,” he wrote. “They will be very happy!”
The statement follows a meeting in Spain between U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese officials to discuss the future of TikTok, the popular video-sharing platform owned by Beijing-based ByteDance. According to Bessent, a framework for a deal has been established, with additional negotiations set for Friday between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump said his relationship with Xi “remains a very strong one.”
Bessent later clarified that President Trump’s threat to shut down TikTok had convinced the Chinese to back away from demands to lower tariffs as part of a deal to sell TikTok in the United States. While not clarifying the details, he added that the terms would protect Americans’ national security interests.
TikTok’s future in the U.S. has been uncertain since Congress passed a law in 2024 requiring ByteDance to divest from the app or face a nationwide ban. The law cited national security concerns, alleging the platform could allow the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to access American user data. Trump has delayed enforcement several times, with the latest deadline for compliance set for September 17.
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court upheld the divestment law, ruling in favor of the government in a unanimous decision. The ruling cleared the way for the government to enforce a ban unless ByteDance sold its stake to a U.S.-approved buyer.
Complicating the issue, multiple reports have accused TikTok of continuing to transmit Western user data to servers in China. In May, European regulators fined TikTok €530 million (~$624.4 million) for violations related to data privacy, including secretly transferring EU user data overseas. Irish data authorities warned that unless the company implemented changes within six months, it could face a suspension of its operations in the European Union (EU).

💬KEY QUOTE: “This endorsement is proof that New York Democrats are drifting further into extremism.” – New York GOP Chair Ed Cox
🎯IMPACT: Hochul’s support for Mamdani, an avowed socialist and member of Shia Islam’s radical Twelver sect, ties establishment Democrats more closely to extreme left radicals, undermining the party statewide and potentially nationally.
IN FULL
New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) has thrown her support behind far-left Zohran Mamdani in New York City’s mayoral race, tying herself to his extreme policy platform. Mamdani, a Ugandan immigrant and avowed socialist who recently secured an upset victory in the Democratic primary, is popular among the party’s left-progressive base but polarizing among the population at large.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) are also facing calls to publicly support Mamdani. However, his candidacy represents a sharp departure from the city’s current leadership, with the socialist supporting radical policies including defunding the police, abolishing prisons, abolishing private property, and increasing taxes in “whiter neighborhoods.”
Mamdani also subscribes to extreme religious views, being an adherent of Shia Islam’s Twelver sect—which believes a 1,200-year-old prophet, Muhammad al-Mahdi, is living in hiding, biding his time before restoring the true Islam and leading its followers into a final war before the Day of Judgment.
“[Hochul’s] endorsement is proof that New York Democrats are drifting further into extremism,” said New York GOP Chair Ed Cox.
“[I]t was only a matter of time before the Worst Governor in America [Kathy Hochul] would bend the knee to the Communist Antisemite Zohran Mamdani,” concurred Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), adding: “At the exact moment when New Yorkers are looking for strong leadership from their Governor with a majority opposing Zohran Mamdani, Kathy Hochul embraces this raging Communist who will destroy New York making it less affordable and more dangerous – once again putting criminals and communists first, and New Yorkers LAST.”
🚨🚨🚨
As I always said, it was only a matter of time before the Worst Governor in America @KathyHochul would bend the knee to the Communist Antisemite Zohran Mamdani.
At the exact moment when New Yorkers are looking for strong leadership from their Governor with a majority…
The mayoral race has taken a dramatic turn, with reports that President Donald J. Trump attempted to persuade incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, a former Democrat now running as an independent, to drop out in favor of former Governor Andrew Cuomo, as polls suggest Cuomo could see off Mamdani in a head-to-head race. However, Adams has rejected the idea and remains committed to his likely doomed campaign.
Many of Mamdani’s far-left past statements are now being resurfaced. For instance, in a 2021 interview, he said one of his proudest accomplishments was a fund he helped create, directing money towards illegal immigrant workers, boasting that this was made possible “because of the pressure brought by [illegals] that the state doesn’t even recognize.”
Additionally, after a New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer was killed in the line of duty recently, past social media posts re-emerged in which Mamdani referred to the police as “racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety,” advocating for defunding and so-called “decarceration”—that is, the release of incarcerated criminals.

The Washington Post has fired its founding Global Opinion editor and columnist, Karen Attiah, over a string of vile posts on the far-left social media app, Bluesky, following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk last week. Attiah, who has been a routine source of controversy for the Jeff Bezos-owned newspaper, wrote, among other posts, that “part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.”
She also attempted to justify her lack of empathy after Kirk‘s death by calling denouncements of violence just “empty rhetoric” and arguing Republicans instigate political violence. The now-former Washington Post columnist went on to write in a reply to another user that, “refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is… not the same as violence.”
“Last week, the Washington Post fired me. The reason? Speaking out against political violence, racial double standards, and America’s apathy toward guns,” Attiah wrote on Monday on her Substack blog. “As a columnist, I used my voice to defend freedom and democracy, challenge power and reflect on culture and politics with honesty and conviction. Now, I am the one being silenced—for doing my job.”
Attiah went on to defend her social media posts, writing: “[T]he Post accused my measured Bluesky posts of being ‘unacceptable’, ‘gross misconduct’ and of endangering the physical safety of colleagues—charges without evidence, which I reject completely as false.”
This isn’t the first time that Attiah has stoked controversy for anti-Republican and anti-white opinions. The National Pulse reported in July 2024 that Attiah, an alumnus of Northwestern University, resigned as the co-chair of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention over its decision to invite President Donald J. Trump to speak. “I am so angry right now. N.A.B.J., this was a colossal mistake,” she said of the decision.

🎯IMPACT: Potential relocation of pharmaceutical operations and economic implications for the UK.
IN FULL
The United Kingdom is at risk of losing critical pharmaceutical investment due to the socialized National Health Service (NHS) reducing spending on drugs, accompanied by widespread mismanagement and wasteful resource allocation. The warning follows U.S. drugmaker Merck & Co. Inc., known as MSD in Britain, scrapping its planned £1 billion (~$1.36 billion) Londonresearch center and sparking concerns about the future of the country’s life sciences sector.
Oxford professor Sir John Bell, a noted figure in Britain’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, told the British media that NHS spending on pharmaceuticals has plummeted from 15 percent of its healthcarebudget a decade ago to just nine percent today. “The rest of the world, the OECD, are sitting between 14 percent and 20 percent,” Bell said, referring to the intergovernmental Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, comprised of 38 relatively high-income countries, including the U.S. Bell revealed that after speaking with several pharmaceutical company CEOs, “they’re all in the same space. And that is: they’re not going to do any more investing in the UK.”
Merck’s withdrawal, which will result in the loss of 125 science jobs, was attributed to Britain’s lack of progress in life sciences investment and “overall undervaluation of innovative medicines and vaccines by successive UK governments.” In addition to Merck, AstraZeneca has paused its plans to invest 200 million pounds (~$271.2 million) into a British research facility in Cambridge, having already abandoned a project earmarked for Liverpool in January.
Notably, the NHS and the Department of Health and Social Care waste vast sums of money yearly, much greater than the loss of investment from Merck and AstraZeneca. For instance, an “extraordinary” £15 billion was wasted on unused and unusable COVID supplies, including personal protective equipment and vaccines, and an estimated £10 billion (~$16.6 billion) was wasted on a new IT system that was so badly botched it had to be abandoned. Such high-profile failures come on top of endemic waste year-on-year, estimated at around £10 billion, much of it squandered on recruitment agencies, consultants, and inflated contracts.
Millions of pounds a year are also spent on internal staff organizations engaged in woke activism, such as promoting International Pronouns Day, so-called “Pride crafting,” and an event focused on “Embracing your Afro/Curly hair.”

🎯IMPACT: The discussion portends an expansive, whole-of-government effort to crush left-wing networks promoting political violence following Charlie Kirk’s assassination last Wednesday.
IN FULL
Vice President J.D. Vance, filling in for assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller, have promised to “destroy” left-wing networks promoting political violence following Kirk’s murder at Utah Valley University last Wednesday.
“We’re going to go after the NGO network that foments, facilitates, and engages in violence,” Vance said, inviting Miller to explain “at a high level, what you and the whole [Trump] administration have been working on to try to make sure that we don’t reward or promote this craziness.”
Miller revealed that the last message he received from Kirk stressed that the Trump administration “need[s] to have a strategy for the left-wing organizations that are promoting violence” in America, and that he has written these words onto his heart since the Turning Point founder’s assassination.
“People ask me, you know, what emotions I’m feeling right now… I mean, you kind of know the answer. There’s incredible sadness, but there’s incredible anger. And the thing about anger is that unfocused anger or blind rage is not a productive emotion, right? But focused anger, righteous, directed for a just cause, is one of the most important agents of change in human history,” Miller said. “And we are going to channel all of the anger that we have over the organized campaign that led to this assassination to uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks.”
Miller stressed that the “organized doxing campaigns, the organized riots, the organized street violence, the organized campaigns of dehumanization, vilification, posting people’s addresses… and the actual organized cells that carry out and facilitate the violence” are a “vast domestic terror movement,” adding: “With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people. It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”
President Donald J. Trump has already publicly suggested a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act case against left-wing plutocrat George Soros, suggesting his NGO network is facilitating “more than protests… real agitation [and] riots on the street.”

🎯IMPACT: The speech underscores a push for renewed antitrust enforcement to benefit working families.
IN FULL
The National Pulse has seen the details of a speech to be delivered by FTC Commissioner Mark Meador, who is expected to declare at the 13th Bill Kovacic Antitrust Salon in Washington, D.C. on Monday evening: “Antitrust is back!”
Meador is expected to cast the Biden- and Obama-era approach to corporate consolidation as a betrayal of the law, using a speech to frame the Trump administration’s revival of antitrust as a populist course correction.
He argues in the speech that ordinary Americans have lost control over their livelihoods as decisions about jobs, wages, housing, healthcare, and even political speech have shifted to distant corporate boardrooms. “When corporate size increases to the extremes we see today,” he said, “it often means that important decisions are made at a greater and greater remove from those they affect.”
While stressing that antitrust is not a partisan football, Meador credited President Trump and Vice President Vance for giving voice to the working people “who’ve borne the full cost of economic change and haven’t reaped the returns.” He ties the modern enforcement push to the same democratic impulse that produced the Sherman and Clayton Acts more than a century ago.
The Commissioner criticizes courts for repeatedly watering down laws passed by Congress and warns against underenforcement and politicization. “Antitrust underenforcement is as much a betrayal of the law as partisan antitrust enforcement would be,” he is expected to state.
Citing tech giants’ power to addict children, harvest data, suppress speech during COVID, and bully governments, as well as private equity’s role in driving up housing costs, Meador argues that renewed antitrust enforcement is essential to restoring “dignity and freedom” to working families.
“There’s no meaningful populism, no pro-worker or pro-family agenda, that doesn’t include antitrust enforcement. I’m grateful that President Trump and Vice President Vance understand that. And I’m honored to serve that mission,” he will conclude.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has revealed that Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, “claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it, because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for.” Patel also revealed that “[Robinson’s] family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology.”
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino also described the killing as “an ideologically motivated attack.” This follows Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) disclosing that Robinson had a transgender partner and was immersed in “leftist ideology.”
Patel also defended his agency’s handling of the investigation into the assassination of Kirk, stressing that the suspect was apprehended within 33 hours of the incident. The FBI and Patel had faced criticism after the assassin was able to escape the scene of Kirk’s murder at Utah Valley University, and for an announcement that a “subject” was in custody shortly after the assassination, only for them to be released in short order.
“Could I have worded it a little better in the heat of the moment? Sure, but do I regret putting it out? Absolutely not. I was telling the world what the FBI was doing as we were doing it, and I’m continuing to do that,” Patel said of the “subject” announcement in an interview on Monday.
Patel reportedly pushed for the public release of surveillance video of the assassin on the Utah Valley University campus, which led to Robinson’s father turning him in to law enforcement.
“His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology.”
“He claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it, because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for.”

📍WHEN & WHERE: The data covers most of the last year.
🎯IMPACT: The slowdown provides further evidence that U.S. tariffs are having a direct impact on the Chinese economy, though China’s deflationary signals suggest more global economic turbulence may be underway as well.
IN FULL
U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s reciprocal tariff policies, aimed at rebalancing global trade, appear to be inflicting significant turbulence on the Chinese economy, exposing long-suspected weaknesses—especially Beijing’s ability to stimulate domestic consumption. While China reported its GDP came in just above its five percent target, at 5.3 percent, in the first half of this year, economists forecast a significant drop in growth for the remainder of the year as Trump’s tariff policies continue to take effect and the front-loading of Chinese imports slows in response.
Chinese government data shows the increase in retail sales for August falling well below expectations at just 3.4 percent year-to-year, with four percent being forecasted. Additionally, August retail showed a significant downward slide from July’s 3.7 percent. Also of concern for China is lagging industrial production, with the rise in August coming in at 5.2 percent, down from July’s 5.7 percent, and missing the 5.8 percent forecast. Notably, earlier this year—in the face of President Trump’s tariffs on Chinese goods—a number of Chinese factories were forced to temporarily shut down and have struggled to bring their production back online.
The slowdown in the Chinese economy is notable as Beijing has thus far been unsuccessful in its campaign to encourage domestic consumption to counter-balance falling exports. Since officially joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) on December 11, 2001, China has rapidly expanded its export economy, effectively becoming the global factory and displacing manufacturing economies in most other nations, including the U.S.
However, China’s reliance on goods production never translated to a meaningful domestic increase in consumption. This is in part a symptom of the very mechanism the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) used to monopolize global manufacturing, namely the purposeful—albeit controlled—deflation of their currency. China’s use of deflation to manipulate its currency—and maintain in practice around a seven-to-one exchange ratio between the yuan and U.S. dollar—is becoming especially worrying as both the Chinese economy and global economy are beginning to show signs of natural deflation as well.
The lack of domestic consumption is compounded by China’s lack of a genuine asset economy. Due to state ownership and intervention, the Chinese stock market lacks the dynamism of its Western counterparts, leading Chinese investors to instead plow their money into real estate. However, the heavily debt-financed Chinese real estate market has become a worrying economic bubble that even Beijing recognizes poses a long-term problem. The Chinese government data suggests the real estate market could be collapsing, with property investment down nearly 13 percent between January and August, an acceleration from the 12 percent decline in the last half of 2024.
Taken as a whole, along with the Chinese unemployment rate inching up from 5.2 percent in July to 5.3 percent in August, the data imply that the CCP’s attempts to blunt the most direct impacts of President Trump‘s tariffs have failed. In addition, it appears that Chinese President Xi Jinping‘s efforts to recentralize—and arguably recollectivize—portions of the country’s economy may only exacerbate its economic woes.

President Donald J. Trump has condemned the brutal killing of an Indian hotel manager, Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, in Dallas, allegedly by a Cuban illegal immigrant. Nagamallaiah, 50, was reportedly attacked with a machete by his co-worker, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, and decapitated following an argument over a broken washing machine.
On Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country.”
“Rest assured, the time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch!” he added, stating that Cobos-Martinez will be charged with first-degree murder.
The murder occurred in front of the victim’s wife and child at the Downtown Suites Motel, where both men worked.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the accused had a final order of removal and was previously held at a detention facility in Dallas before being released in January when Cuban authorities refused repatriation due to his criminal background.
The case has sparked renewed attention to the broader issue of criminal illegal aliens. In recent months, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has ramped up arrests of illegals with serious criminal records. The Trump administration has struck deals with third countries, such as Swaziland, to take migrants like Cobos-Martinez who cannot easily be deported to their home countries.

But the regime doesn’t want you being informed. That’s why they want us to go away. And that will happen if more people don’t sign up to support our work. It’s basic supply and demand. So demand you get to read The National Pulse, unrestricted. Sign up, today.
We don’t sell ads, and refuse corporate or political cash. It all comes down to you, the reader. I hope you can help.
