A Syrian migrant who forced a 12-year-old girl to perform sex acts on him will not receive any prison time. A court in Vienna, Austria, only asked him to pay the family of his victim a paltry €100 (~$100) in compensation.
The court decided the Syrian, supposedly 15 at the time of the attack, may not have understood his pre-teen victim was not consenting. They conceded she may have said “no” but insisted that people sometimes say “no” and then “allow themselves to be persuaded by affection.”

The Syrian, now said to be 17, arrived claiming to be a refugee during the migrant crisis in 2016. He met the girl on the social media platform Snapchat, agreeing to meet at a park. The girl was later taken to a parking garage, where she was forced to perform sexual acts. Several others, including a 19-year-old, have been charged but still await trial over the incident.
A lawyer representing the victim and her family said the verdict showed “boundless contempt” for the victim and called the $100 payment a “mockery.” The acquittal is not final and may be appealed. The case is just the latest involving migrants sexually abusing an underage girl in Austria. In one case, a 13-year-old girl named Leonie was not only drugged and sexually abused but died at the hands of several Afghans, who were later convicted for her murder.
The populist, anti-mass migration Freedom Party placed first in the European Union country’s recent elections and is currently attempting to form a government.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Germans are being imprisoned for memes, while the daughter in this case will never appear before a court for her alleged heinous crimes.” – Austrian activist Martin Sellner
🎯IMPACT: The case is sparking outrage over perceived double standards in Germany’s justice system, with questions raised about why no charges have been filed.
IN FULL
New details have emerged in the case of Iris Stalzer, the Social Democrat (SPD) mayor of Herdecke, Germany, who was reportedly tortured for hours by her adopted 17-year-old migrant daughter. Despite the violent nature of the attack, no arrest warrants have been issued for the daughter or her 15-year-old brother, who is also believed to have been involved.
The incident occurred on October 7, 2025. Emergency services were called by the daughter, who initially claimed that her mother had been assaulted by “several men.” Police later determined that this version of events was fabricated to conceal the true nature of the attack. Investigators believe Stalzer was tortured in the basement of her home, where she was subjected to burns from deodorant spray ignited with a lighter and stabbed 13 times. One of the knives used in the attack was reportedly found in the brother’s backpack, along with bloody clothing, while another knife was discovered in his bedroom. Police also found evidence that blood had been scrubbed from parts of the crime scene.
Although the evidence suggests a deliberate and prolonged assault, prosecutors have not brought charges. According to statements, the fact that the daughter eventually called emergency services was taken as an indication that she did not intend to kill her adoptive mother. Both siblings have since been placed in the care of the Youth Welfare Office rather than facing detention or prosecution. The prosecutor also noted that the children’s father, once considered as a possible guardian, had also previously been a victim of violence by the daughter.
The case has sparked widespread public anger, with many critics accusing the justice system of a double standard. Austrian anti-mass migration activist Martin Sellner commented on the situation, saying, “Germans are being imprisoned for memes, while the daughter in this case will never appear before a court for her alleged heinous crimes.”
Concerns over selective prosecution in Germany have been growing. In recent months, authorities have faced criticism for criminal investigations and penalties targeting people over social media posts and political expression. One woman was prosecuted for reacting with ‘thumbs up’ emojis to a social media post about a 15-year-old killing a rapist migrant, while others were prevented from leaving Germany to attend a remigration conference abroad.

🎯IMPACT: Farmers are struggling with financial uncertainty, higher input costs, and the inability to sell their crops to their largest market, China, while relief is delayed due to the Senate Democrats’ government shutdown.
IN FULL
American soybean farmers across key agricultural states like Minnesota, Illinois, and Arkansas are nearing the completion of their annual harvest. However, they may not have any markets to export their product to. The ongoing trade dispute between the United States and China has seen soybean farmers take a hit as China, which typically purchases over $12 billion worth of American soybeans annually, has not bought any this year.
In the face of the trade dispute, President Donald J. Trump has indicated that soybean farmers impacted by tariffs may receive financial assistance, but no specific plan has been announced due to the ongoing Senate Democrats’ government shutdown. “President Trump, Secretary Bessent, and Secretary Rollins are always in touch about the needs of our farmers,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly. “Unfortunately, Democrats in Congress have stalled progress on this issue with their prolonged shutdown to serve illegal immigrants instead of America’s farmers.”
Soybean farmers, particularly those in rural areas, face mounting challenges as input costs like fertilizer and seed rise, while prices for their crops remain stagnant. Many farmers are hoping for a trade deal with China that could stabilize the market.
The Chinese have tried to ramp up their side of the trade dispute ahead of this meeting in the hopes of maximizing leverage, though President Trump has thus far called Xi’s bluff. “They politicized the soybean purchases. And most of them have gone to Brazil. We are not going to let that happen. And I believe that the Chinese will have to come back at the end of the season and buy soybeans,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said during a television appearance earlier this week, suggesting both government relief and a long-term deal on soybeans with China is likely in the near future.
The American Soybean Association has urged the administration to resolve the trade dispute, warning that farmers are “standing at a trade and financial precipice.” While some farmers have alternative markets to sell their soybeans, many are left with limited options.
Republican lawmakers have expressed sympathy for the farmers, with Congressman James Comer (R-KY) stating, “They planted that crop assuming that those foreign markets were going to be there. I think we need to do something to help the soybean farmers.”

🎯IMPACT: The mandate and recommendations aim to protect vulnerable populations but contradict recent federal guidance from the CDC and HHS on COVID-19 vaccinations.
IN FULL
Sonoma County, California, has reimplemented a mask mandate for certain healthcare facilities and bolstered its vaccine recommendations, citing a “greater risk” of COVID-19 and flu during the season. The Sonoma County Department of Public Health’s Interim Health Officer, Dr. Karen Smith, announced the order, requiring masks in skilled nursing facilities, portions of long-term care facilities, acute and non-acute rehabilitation facilities, infusion centers, and dialysis centers.
“The rationale behind this order is to protect the most vulnerable populations (such as the elderly and cancer patients) and to try to prevent medical staff from getting sick and creating staffing problems for facilities,” a spokesman for the Sonoma County Department of Health stated. The mask mandate will run from November 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, and will be implemented annually unless rescinded. Exemptions are provided for individuals with medical conditions, mental health conditions, or disabilities preventing mask use, as well as those who rely on lip-reading for communication.
The order specifies acceptable masks, including surgical masks, KN95, KF94, or N95 respirators, while informal coverings such as scarves, bandanas, or masks with unfiltered exhaust valves are not permitted. Alongside the mandate, Dr. Smith has issued stronger guidance on COVID-19 and flu vaccines, recommending them for everyone aged just six months and older. She also advised both the vaccinated and unvaccinated to wear masks in indoor public spaces when the risk of COVID-19 or flu is high.
This guidance contrasts with recent federal recommendations. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), under Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have removed the recommendation for adults aged 65 and older to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. They now advise individuals aged six months to 64 years to consult with their doctors before making vaccination decisions. The HHS has also narrowed the approval scope for new COVID-19 vaccines, emphasizing “science, safety, and common sense.”

💬KEY QUOTE: “We’re grateful Washington ultimately recognized it can prevent abuse without forcing priests to violate their sacred vows.” – Washington State Catholic Conference.
🎯IMPACT: The settlement will allow priests to continue to hear confessions and uphold the seal of confession without threat of prison time or fines.
IN FULL
The State of Washington has agreed to a legal settlement that blocks enforcement of a controversial law that would have required Roman Catholic priests to report child abuse heard during the sacrament of confession. The settlement comes after a federal court issued an injunction this summer, ruling the law likely violated constitutional protections for religious freedom.
The law, originally scheduled to take effect on July 27, would have imposed penalties of up to 364 days in jail, a $5,000 fine, and potential civil liability for clergy who failed to report abuse disclosed in confession. While Washington argued the law aimed to protect minors, it maintained confidentiality protections for attorneys and other professionals, excluding only clergy in cases involving sacramental confession.
The Washington State Catholic Conference welcomed the settlement, stating, “In every other setting other than the confessional, the Church has long supported—and continues to support—mandatory reporting. We’re grateful Washington ultimately recognized it can prevent abuse without forcing priests to violate their sacred vows.”
Notably, the Archdiocese of Seattle and the Dioceses of Spokane and Yakima already require all Church personnel to report suspected abuse to law enforcement outside of the confessional setting.
In June, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Trump administration sued the state, calling the law a direct violation of the First Amendment. A federal judge agreed, writing that “the targeted exception for clergy raises concerns,” and noted that the law placed priests in an unconstitutional dilemma: violate their religious duty or face criminal penalties.
The dispute in Washington follows similar efforts in other states. In 2019, California introduced a bill that would have required priests to report abuse admitted in confession under certain conditions. That bill was later withdrawn after widespread public backlash and constitutional concerns.
The Catholic Church teaches that the seal of confession is absolute, and priests who violate it face the highest canonical penalty: automatic excommunication. Even indirect breaches can lead to removal from the priesthood. Many clergy have stated they would rather face imprisonment than violate the confessional seal.

IN FULL
Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado dedicated her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to U.S. President Donald J. Trump and the people of Venezuela, stating the South American nation needed Trump’s support “more than ever.” Machado—an outspoken supporter of Trump—has previously called the U.S. President a “visionary” and the “biggest opportunity we’ve ever had” for ending Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro‘s regime.
Early Friday morning, the Norwegian Nobel Committee named Marchado its 2025 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, citing her decades of advocacy against state socialism in her native Venezuela. The committee congratulated Machado for “her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”
After being awarded the prize, Machado—who remains in hiding in Venezuela—declared that Venezuelan opposition activists continue to chip away at the Maduro regime. Notably, the U.S. military has moved significant air force and naval assets into the Caribbean, and there has been considerable chatter that strikes against Venezuela could happen at any moment. For her part, Machado insists opposition forces are “on the threshold of victory.”
“We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy,” Machado said, noting that President Trump’s recent military strikes against drug smugglers in the Caribbean, as well as tariff and sanction actions against China and Iran, have successfully stripped Maduro of weapons and money.
Government leaders from Israel, Cambodia, Rwanda, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Gabon all backed Trump as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his brokering of multiple peace agreements and ceasefires over the last nine months.

IN FULL
Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan is facing backlash over remarks he made criticizing the recent peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. The deal, brokered by President Donald J. Trump, includes the return of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) dated October 9, Hasan wrote, “I said yesterday that my biggest fear was that Israel uses this deal to get back their remaining hostages and then restarts the bombing and genocide.” He argued that the return of hostages would cause Hamas to lose its leverage, which he described as existing “in the form of Jewish lives.”
Hasan, who has been recorded describing non-Muslims as “animals,” cited Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to support his concern. Smotrich has emphasized the importance of dismantling Hamas and disarming Gaza, but he voted against the peace deal, which was approved by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet.
Hasan’s professional background has also attracted attention. After being let go from MSNBC in 2024, he rejoinedQatari-funded Al Jazeera and has continued to amplify anti-Israel commentary.

Former Daily Show host Trevor Noah is facing backlash for mocking the assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk. Kirk was assassinated on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. During a stand-up performance, Noah complained that comedians were being advised not to “say anything about Charlie Kirk” because there was “nothing funny about it.”
“Now you tested me. I mean, there’s nothing funny about it? Don’t say that, because then I’ll be like, ‘I’m sure there’s something funny about it,’” he continued.
“The guy was shot while defending guns… I’m not even writing that as a joke. As a human, you have to admit that is an incongruous, funny thing that happens. “You’re onstage, like, ‘Let me tell you why people should have guns.’ Wa-pow!” he added—inaccurately, as Kirk was actually discussing transgender mass shooters when he was murdered.
Noah cast himself as a martyr for comedy following the resulting backlash, comparing the public’s anger at his remarks to historical jokes about President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination and complaining that audiences shouldn’t be “terrorized” into silence.
However, critics have pointed to Noah’s recent praise for Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Comedy Festival, where he had lauded the sharia state as “moving in the right direction” on civil liberties, despite its severe blasphemy and censorship laws.
Noah is not the only alleged comedian under scrutiny. Jimmy Kimmel also faced criticism for falsely suggesting that Kirk’s assassin was affiliated with the MAGA movement. Meanwhile, Education Secretary Linda McMahon has urged universities to sanction faculty who applauded the killing online.
Conservative activist Scott Presler claimed to have received over 51,000 tips identifying individuals, many of them teachers, who mocked Kirk’s death on social media. A website called “Charlie’s Murderers” was launched to document these posts, and some have reportedly been fired or disciplined in response.

IN FULL
President Donald J. Trump has followed through with his trade duty threat against China made earlier on Friday, announcing a 100 percent tariff on Chinese goods from November 1.
“It has just been learned that China has taken an extraordinarily aggressive position on Trade in sending an extremely hostile letter to the World, stating that they were going to, effective November 1st, 2025, impose large scale Export Controls on virtually every product they make, and some not even made by them,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “This affects ALL Countries, without exception, and was obviously a plan devised by them years ago. It is absolutely unheard of in International Trade, and a moral disgrace in dealing with other Nations.”
He continued, “Based on the fact that China has taken this unprecedented position, and speaking only for the U.S.A., and not other Nations who were similarly threatened, starting November 1st, 2025 (or sooner, depending on any further actions or changes taken by China), the United States of America will impose a Tariff of 100% on China, over and above any Tariff that they are currently paying. Also on November 1st, we will impose Export Controls on any and all critical software.”
Trump concluded, “It is impossible to believe that China would have taken such an action, but they have, and the rest is History. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

IN FULL
President Donald J. Trump‘s former National Security Advisor turned obsessive critic John Bolton is reportedly facing charges from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Several sources claim the charges against him could be filed “as early as next week.”
It is believed the investigation into Bolton revolves around his alleged unlawful retention of classified materials used to write a book. However, there are some indications that the scope could be broader, including accusations that Bolton traded on the same documents with foreign actors.
A grand jury in Maryland has been examining evidence for several weeks that Bolton improperly retained classified national security documents at his home in Bethesda, Maryland. On September 22, FBI agents conducted a raid on Bolton’s residence, reportedly searching for classified materials, based on a search warrant approved by a federal judge and supported by CIA-provided information.
Bolton’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, has denied any wrongdoing on his client’s part, asserting that “An objective and thorough review will show nothing inappropriate was stored or kept by Ambassador Bolton.” Lowell has also said that the documents in question date back to Bolton’s tenure in the George W. Bush administration.
The potential charges against Bolton follow grand jury indictments of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D). Comey faces charges for lying to Congress, while James faces charges for mortgage fraud.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed a partial withdrawal of troops from parts of Gaza following the implementation of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. The ceasefire, which began on Friday morning, was phase one of a deal brokered by U.S. President Donald J. Trump to facilitate the return of hostages and the release of prisoners, with the eventual aim of disarming Hamas and rebuilding Gaza.
Under the agreement, Hamas has until Monday to release all Israeli hostages, including 20 believed to be alive and up to 28 hostages’ remains. In return, Israel is expected to release approximately 250 Palestinian prisoners and allow 600 aid trucks daily into Gaza to address the humanitarian crisis.
The IDF stated that troops “began positioning themselves along the updated deployment lines” and will continue to address immediate threats. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed that the IDF had completed the first phase of withdrawal to the “yellow line,” as outlined in a White House map.
Thousands of Palestinians have been seen traveling north, many on foot, carrying their remaining belongings. “Even if the house is destroyed, even if it’s just rubble, we’ll go back, put up a tent, and return to our people,” said Wael Al-Najjar, one of many displaced residents.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the ongoing mission to disarm Hamas and demilitarize Gaza, stating that Israeli troops remain positioned to encircle Hamas. Meanwhile, families of hostages held by Hamas expressed cautious relief, with many awaiting the return of their loved ones.
