President Donald J. Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, pulled no punches during an interview with CNN, stating that illegals would not be allowed to hide in schools or hospitals to avoid deportation. During an interview with Kaitlan Collins, Homan was questioned about the justification for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in schools. Homan responded that concern should only arise if individuals are related to public safety or national security threats.
The Border Czar emphasized, “If they are a public safety threat, a national security threat, they should be chilled. They should be afraid because we’re looking for them.”
Collins highlighted apprehensions among illegal immigrant parents. Homan maintained a firm stance, asserting that being in the country without authorization is unlawful and the enforcement of immigration laws remains a priority.
“It’s a crime. And that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I wouldn’t feel comfortable if I’m in Switzerland illegally. So we’re going to enforce the laws of this country,” he said.
Homan announced ICE raids against criminal illegals last week following President Trump’s inauguration. So far, the agency has arrested at least 1,179 illegals. According to Homan, many are wanted for heinous crimes, from murder to child rape.
