Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has revoked the security clearance and detail of rabid anti-Trump, woke former Gen. Mark Milley—and is investigating whether he can have him demoted.
Back up: Milley served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs under Trump. After he turned on the 45th president towards the end of his first term [we’ll get to this later], Joe Biden decided to keep him at his post.
Milley pays the price: Newly-minted Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will reportedly announce he is “immediately pulling” Milley’s security detail and security clearance.
- Additionally, he will direct the new acting Inspector General to review if enough evidence exists to demote Milley, stripping him of a star based on his actions to “undermine the chain of command” during Trump’s first term.
- A portrait of Milley was removed from the Pentagon last week, less than two hours after Trump was sworn in.
How did Milley undermine the chain of command? I’m glad you asked. According to a book by acclaimed author Bob Woodward, Gen. Milley, on at least two occasions, broke the chain of command and called the Chinese Communist Party in the final months of Trump’s first term — without Trump’s knowledge — to assure them the administration had no plans to strike them.
- Back in 2023, Trump called it “an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!”
Zoom out: In his final days in office, Joe Biden handed Milley a blanket pardon, shielding him from any potential charges of treason.
