Lord Peter Mandelson, aka the ‘Prince of Darkness,’ who was recently nominated as the UK’s next ambassador to the United States, has publicly retracted historical criticisms of President Donald J. Trump, acknowledging they were “ill-judged and wrong.”
His comments came in an interview with Fox News, after The National Pulse revealedThe National Pulse revealed the full extent of Mandelson’s anti-Trump rhetoric, and pro-China business deals.
Mandelson expressed a newfound respect for Trump, suggesting he is optimistic about receiving the president’s approval for his diplomatic role. This follows a history of public remarks by Mandelson labelling Trump as “reckless” and “a danger to the world” during interviews in 2019, as well as the usual tropes involving racism, Nazism, and more.
Mandelson—known as an extremely savvy political operator—explained that his past statements were influenced by the political climate in Britain at the time. He stressed that with Trump’s renewed presidency, perceptions have evolved. Mandelson now says he believes Trump to be “one of the most consequential” leaders and expects the president will assess his credentials favorably, reinforcing their two countries’ special relationship. Mandelson stated he has heard no indications from the White House of potential issues with his appointment.
Despite previous concerns about a possible block by Trump, Mandelson reportedly received his “agrément” from the US government, indicating their willingness to accept him. The process will complete when Mandelson presents his “letter of credence” to Trump, likely during a visit to Washington, D.C., scheduled for next week.
As a young Labour Party organizer, Mandelson attended the Soviet-run World Festival of Youth in Castro’s Cuba and even joined the Young Communist League.
He is currently the recipient of a European Union (EU) pension, having served a brief stint as a Commissioner (top bureaucrat) in Brussels. His financial benefits from the EU require him to promote the Brussels globalist project, else he can be stripped of them, causing Britons concern as to whether he can be a loyal ambassador to the nation in a post-Brexit world.
