PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: King Charles visited the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies to mark its 40th anniversary and officially opened the newly designated King Charles III Wing.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: King Charles, Dr Nizami (Director), Lord Hague (Chancellor of Oxford University), Prince Turki Al-Faisal (Chairman of the Board of Trustees), and Professor Irene Tracey (Oxford’s Vice Chancellor).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, Oxford, England.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This wing will house the new King Charles III Programme.” – Dr Nizami

🎯IMPACT: The event launched initiatives like the King Charles III Programme, fostering leadership, environmental discussions, and scholarships, while further cementing ties between Western and Islamic academic traditions.

IN FULL

King Charles III visited the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies on Thursday to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The British monarch has served as its patron since 1993.

During the event, the monarch officially opened the new King Charles III Wing, named in his honour. The newly designated space will be home to the King Charles III Programme, a wide-reaching initiative aimed at fostering Islamic leadership and research on key contemporary issues.

The new programme includes a series of academic and leadership initiatives such as fellowships, support for emerging Muslim leaders, and conferences focused on environmental issues and sustainability.

Key attendees at the event included Dr Farhan Nizami, the Centre’s Director; Lord Hague, Chancellor of the University of Oxford; Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and Professor Irene Tracey, Vice Chancellor of Oxford University.

During the ceremony, King Charles took part in a ribbon-cutting to formally open the new wing. The space will now serve as a central location for initiatives such as the Young Muslim Leadership Programme.

Since becoming Britain’s monarch, King Charles has shown a fondness for Islam, including handing out treats during Ramadan earlier this year. At the same time, Islamic relief banners calling on people to “Trust in Allah” went up in London.

Fetterman Goes Off on Biden, Sanctuary Cities, Says Dems Should ‘Be Turning Over All Criminals.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) stated that his stance on sanctuary cities has changed and that the laws no longer make America safe.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Sen. Fetterman and pro-sanctuary law Democrats like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The comments were made during broadcasts on Tuesday and Wednesday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I do think, at this point, we should be turning over all the criminals that are in custody in all these jurisdictions.” – Sen. Fetterman

🎯IMPACT: Fetterman’s comments suggest a major shift in his policy stance, and potentially an emerging key Democrat vote for Senate Republicans on border and immigration legislation amid calls for congressional action against sanctuary jurisdictions.

IN FULL

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) says he now no longer believes sanctuary laws make Americans safer, and urged his fellow Democrats elected to office in sanctuary states and cities to hand over criminal illegal immigrants to federal law enforcement. According to Fetterman, the unchecked flow of illegal immigrants across the border under the former Biden government significantly impacted his opinion regarding the establishment of sanctuary jurisdictions.

“The dynamic has changed much differently, and the border has become more and more increasingly more difficult. So, for me, now, I think it’s entirely appropriate to make the adjustments,” Sen. Fetterman said during a television interview on Tuesday when pressed about his support for sanctuary laws in 2016. The Pennsylvania Democrat continued, “And I do think, at this point, we should be turning over all the criminals that are in custody in all these jurisdictions.”

Fetterman emphasized that “…if there are law enforcement that have these people in custody that are [engaging] in criminal behavior, then, yes, they should cooperate with that. And those individuals, if they’re convicted, should be deported.” Additionally, the Democrat Senator indicated he believes Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey—who has declared his city’s police will not cooperate with federal immigration agents—should back down.

Still, on Wednesday, Fetterman said he has lost confidence in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem. “Americans have died, and this doesn’t seem to be about the core things like securing the border,” Fetterman said, while lamenting that Noem’s predecessor under former President Biden, Secretary Alexander Mayorkas, was “incompetent.”

“Our party, my party, we failed at the border during the Biden administration. It was a disaster,” Fetterman added.

BREAKING: Video Shows Man Believed to Be Alex Pretti Violently Attacking ICE One Week Before Shooting.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Newly unearthed footage appears to show deceased anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti violently attacking federal immigration agents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area on January 13, around a week before he was fatally shot during a confrontation with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Alex Pretti, federal immigration agents, The News Movement, and the BBC.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The footage is from January 13, 2026 and surfaced on social media on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

🎯IMPACT: The BBC—using facial recognition software—was reportedly able to confirm to a 97 percent level of accuracy that the man they filmed attacking federal agents was Alex Pretti.

IN FULL

Newly unearthed footage appears to show anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti violently attacking federal immigration agents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area on January 13, nearly a week before he was fatally shot during a confrontation with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents. The video, captured by The News Movement and reportedly verified by the BBC, shows a man believed to be Pretti spitting on a federal law enforcement officer and shouting at agents before charging at their vehicle and kicking out its taillight.

Subsequently, a number of federal officers tackle the man believed to be Pretti to the ground and attempt to disperse the nearby crowd of protestors with tear gas. However, the federal agents are forced to retreat, and the man escapes from the agents.

The BBC—using facial recognition software—was reportedly able to confirm to a 97 percent level of accuracy that the man they filmed attacking federal agents was Alex Pretti. In the footage, what appears to be a firearm can be seen in his waistband, and he is wearing clothing very similar to what Alex Pretti was wearing on the day he was fatally shot.

Importantly, the January 13 footage may capture a confrontation reported by The National Pulse on Tuesday, in which Pretti suffered a broken rib when officers tackled him a week prior to his death. According to sources speaking with CNN, the initial incident began when Pretti stopped his vehicle after observing ICE agents pursuing illegal immigrants. He then began shouting and using a whistle, later claiming that five agents tackled him, resulting in his broken rib, though he was released shortly after.

Dem DA Vows to ‘Hunt Down’ ICE Agents Like Nazi War Criminals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Philadelphia District Attorney (DA) Larry Krasner (D) compared U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to “wannabe Nazis” during a rally and threatened legal action against them.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Larry Krasner, other progressive prosecutors such as Mary Moriarty, and ICE agents.

📍WHEN & WHERE: During a rally on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

💬KEY QUOTE: “If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities; we will find you; we will achieve justice.” – Larry Krasner

🎯IMPACT: Krasner’s rhetoric has drawn criticism for its inflammatory nature.

IN FULL

Philadelphia District Attorney (DA) Larry Krasner (D) sparked outrage Tuesday with a speech attacking federal immigration enforcement, smearing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as “wannabe Nazis” and vowing to wage a lawfare campaign against them. “If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities; we will find you; we will achieve justic … under the Constitution and the laws of the United States,” Krasner said, stating that federal officers are not immune from homicide charges even after leaving office. He also said he is working with other progressive prosecutors, including Minneapolis’ Mary Moriarty, to hold federal agents accountable at the state level.

Krasner, a far-left prosecutor backed by billionaire George Soros, has long been a lightning rod for controversy. Since taking office in 2018, he has implemented sweeping progressive reforms, including ending cash bail for some offenses and reducing prosecutions. Republican critics say those policies contributed to a dramatic surge in violent crime, with Philadelphia homicides hitting a record 562 in 2021, although they later fell to a 20-year low by 2024. Krasner was impeached by the Pennsylvania House in 2022 over allegations of “purposeful ineffectiveness,” but he remains in office, dismissing the effort as an attack on “black, brown, and broke” voters.

Krasner’s rhetoric comes amid nationwide tension over ICE enforcement. Some Democratic officials have made highly controversial statements regarding the agency. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes suggested that under the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law, citizens could legally shoot masked ICE agents if they felt threatened. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, similarly to Krasner, compared illegal immigrants and ICE to Anne Frank and the Nazis hunting her.

Clinton Judge Halts Deportation of Illegal Immigrant Who Abandoned His 5-Year-Old Child.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge temporarily blocked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from deporting illegal immigrant Adrian Alexander Conejo Ramos and his five-year-old son, even though the latter was not arrested by ICE.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Liam Conejo Ramos, his father Adrian Alexander Conejo Ramos, ICE officials, and U.S. District Court Judge Fred Biery.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The ruling was issued on Tuesday in the Western District of Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The facts in this case have NOT changed: ICE did NOT target or arrest a child.” – Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin

🎯IMPACT: The deportation of the father has been halted for now—DHS says the son was never considered for deportation—and ICE is restricted from transferring them out of the region.

IN FULL

A federal judge issued a temporary order late Tuesday preventing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from deporting five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Ramos. The judge, U.S. District Court Judge Fred Biery, appointed by Bill Clinton, also blocked ICE from transferring the pair out of the Western District of Texas.

ICE reported that Adrian Conejo Ramos, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, attempted to evade arrest during an operation on January 20, abandoning his child in a vehicle in freezing temperatures. ICE deportation chief Marcos Charles emphasized that the operation targeted the father and not the child. Efforts to return the child to his family were reportedly met with resistance, as those inside the home refused to open the door.

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement rejecting claims that ICE intended to detain Liam’s mother. “Officers even assured her she would NOT be taken into custody,” McLaughlin said, continuing, “The alleged mother refused to accept custody of the child. The father told officers he wanted the child to remain with him.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Adrian Conejo Ramos entered the U.S. illegally in December 2024 and was released into the country by the Biden government. Despite a pending asylum claim, ICE sought to detain him, citing his illegal status and his actions during the arrest.

McLaughlin emphasized, “The facts in this case have NOT changed: ICE did NOT target or arrest a child. On January 20, ICE conducted a targeted operation to arrest Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, an illegal alien from Ecuador who was RELEASED into the U.S. by the Biden administration. As agents approached, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias fled on foot—abandoning his child.”

The National Pulse reported last week that the corporate media and Democrat lawmakers attempted to falsely claim ICE had detained the five-year-old. However, Vice President J.D. Vance and other Trump administration officials made clear that the child was looked after by federal agents for his own safety after his father abandoned him and fled from ICE officers.

BREAKING: FBI Raids Fulton County Elections Office.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents executed a search warrant at the Fulton County elections office.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: FBI agents, under the leadership of Director Kash Patel.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Wednesday, at the county’s main election office in Union City, near Atlanta.

💬KEY QUOTE: The FBI spokesman stated agents were “executing a court authorized law enforcement action.”

🎯IMPACT: The search is part of efforts to address political grievances related to the 2020 election.

IN FULL

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at the Fulton County elections office, located near Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday. The action was confirmed by an agency spokesman, who indicated that the agents were performing a “court authorized law enforcement action” at the main election office of the county in Union City, just south of Atlanta.

This search is part of the FBI’s efforts under Director Kash Patel to address issues with election integrity, a key priority of President J. Donald Trump. These efforts include collaborating with the Justice Department to investigate several officials and institutions with a lax attitude towards the security of America’s elections, particularly in 2020.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, Switzerland, last week, President Trump warned that “People will soon be prosecuted for what they did,” describing his statement as “breaking news.”

The Justice Department had not released any comments regarding the search as of the time of publication.

Walz is Back to Inflaming Tensions in Minnesota After Far-Left Activists Protested His Dialogue With Trump Admin.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) is back to attacking the “cruel” Trump administration after his talks with White Border Czar Tom Homan drew protests from far-left activists.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Tim Walz, Tom Homan, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Following the shooting of anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti in Minnesota.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They started this fire, and we are not going to give them credit for putting it out.” – Tim Walz

🎯IMPACT: The failed Democratic vice presidential candidate’s comments suggest he is not interested in helping to de-escalate tensions in his state.

IN FULL

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) has re-escalated his criticism of the Trump administration this week, after initial, seemingly positive talks with President Donald J. Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan aimed at easing tensions following the shooting of anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti by Border Patrol. “They started this fire, and we are not going to give them credit for putting it out,” Walz said of the administration, despite his own long history of inflaming the public against federal law enforcement, for instance, by comparing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Adolf Hitler’s Gestapo.

In an interview, Walz acknowledged some improvement in discussions with Homan, citing a “tone shift” and “progress,” but questioned Trump officials’ sincerity, arguing they are infected with “a cruelty that runs so deep” and have only reached out to him because of criticism of the Pretti shooting in the media. In recent days, Walz has gone so far as to compare ICE efforts to arrest illegal immigrants in Minnesota, including killers and violent pedophiles, to Nazis hunting Anne Frank, drawing sharp criticism from the Holocaust Museum.

Notably, Walz’s return to inflaming the public against the federal government follows pressure from far-left activists, who surrounded his office in the state capitol following his dialogue with Homan demanding a hard line against federal immigration enforcement.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D), who also held talks with Trump and Homan initially reported as positive, has also since come out to vow his city will not uphold federal immigration law, prompting the President to warn he is “playing with fire.”

What Are ‘Trump Accounts,’ and How Will They Help?

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump and his top economic and social policy officials rolled out the administration’s groundbreaking Trump Accounts during a major summit at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in the heart of Washington, D.C.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Kevin O’Leary, Altimeter Capital CEO Brad Gerstner, several hundred attendees, and music industry superstar Nicki Minaj.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Perhaps no other provision of the Great Big Beautiful Bill will prove more consequential than Trump Accounts.” — President Trump

🎯IMPACT: A Trump Account opened with $1,000 in federal seed money in 2026 will reach $5,800 by age 18 and $18,100 by age 28. However, families who contribute the maximum $5,000 annually will see the accounts reach an estimated $303,800 by age 18 and $1,091,900 by age 28—assuming contributions continue through age 18 and the account is converted to an IRA.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump and his top economic and social policy officials rolled out the administration’s groundbreaking Trump Accounts on Wednesday during a major summit at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in the heart of Washington, D.C. The event was opened by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who stressed that the new investment accounts are a “down payment on the American dream” aimed at “creating an ownership economy.”

According to Secretary Bessent, “Trump Accounts are not a government program. They are a radically new platform that returns us to a social contract anchored in individual ownership where everyone starts life on an investing journey.”

Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law by President Trump last July, American newborns are eligible to receive $1,000 from the U.S. government starting July 4, 2026, through 2028. The seed money will be deposited into what the White House states is “a 530A account, a tax‑advantaged investment account for children under 18 that works similarly to a traditional IRA.”

“Perhaps no other provision of the Great Big Beautiful Bill will prove more consequential than Trump Accounts,” President Trump said on Wednesday, emphasizing that in the most likely cases, the accounts could grow to $200,000 or even $300,000 or more for each child. He added, “We had a great start to our economy, but this is blowing it away. We’re going to leave every child with real assets and a shot at real financial freedom.”

Notably, each account is established in the child’s name—though a parent or guardian will act as a custodian until the child reaches 18.

In essence, the accounts resemble a hybrid retirement account, but upon the age of 18, the account owner will be able to either continue investing into it or, at any point, use the money to attain key aspects of the American dream, like paying for college or as a down payment on a first home.

One of the fundamental advantages of the Trump Accounts is the power of compounding interest and the ability for employers and other institutions to make contributions to the accounts.

Kevin O’Leary, an investor and television personality, noted at the summit that the accounts allow employers to invest not just in their workers but also in their workers’ families.

Importantly, according to the White House, a Trump Account opened with only the $1,000 federal seed money in 2026 will reach $5,800 by age 18 and $18,100 by age 28.

However, families who contribute the maximum $5,000 annually will see the accounts reach an estimated $303,800 by age 18 and $1,091,900 by age 28—assuming contributions continue through age 18 and the account is converted to an IRA.

CEO of Altimeter Capital, Brad Gerstner, stressed that “We’re going to make every citizen a shareholder,” and that the accounts are an “antidote to socialism,” and counter to calls for the implementation of a Universal Basic Income (UBI).

Already a number of major U.S. corporations have pledged to contribute seed money to Trump Accounts for the children of their employees. Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Steak n Shake have each pledged a $1,000 match for accounts belonging to the children of their employees born between 2025 and 2028.

Meanwhile, music industry mogul Nicki Minaj says she will contribute several hundred thousand dollars to create $1,000 matches for Trump Accounts belonging to the children of a portion of her fans.

Trump Says Cuba’s Downfall is Imminent.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. President Donald J. Trump declared that Cuba is “failing” following the U.S. capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, which has impacted Cuba’s oil supply.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald Trump, former Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Comments were made by Trump in January 2026, during a visit to Urbandale, Iowa.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Cuba will be failing pretty soon. Cuba is really a nation that’s very close to failing.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: The remarks follow a U.S. blockade on oil shipments to Cuba, which could accelerate economic challenges on the island and potentially drive leadership change.

IN FULL

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has declared that Cuba is on the verge of collapse, linking it to the U.S. military’s capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, which has cut off vital support from Caracas to Havana. Speaking to reporters ahead of an event in Urbandale, Iowa, Trump stated: “Cuba will be failing pretty soon. Cuba is really a nation that’s very close to failing.”

He explained that Cuba previously received its oil and financial assistance from Venezuela, but that flow has stopped. The Trump administration has applied strong pressure to Cuba, including enforcing a long-standing economic embargo against the communist-led nation.

After Maduro’s capture earlier this month, Trump declared that no Venezuelan oil or funds would reach Cuba anymore—a significant blow, as Venezuela had been providing about one-third of the island’s oil needs in recent times. Mexico provided an even larger 44 percent, and it, too, has paused shipments to the island amid U.S. pressure.

The interruption in oil deliveries has intensified fuel shortages across Cuba, exacerbating existing economic difficulties and power outages. Some reports suggest efforts are underway to prompt internal figures to challenge the communist regime.

Cuban-heritage U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called Cuba’s government a “huge problem,” while Trump has encouraged Havana to negotiate a deal “before it is too late.”

Dem AG Candidate Campaigns on Promise to Literally ‘Kill Donald Trump.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Ohio Democrat Attorney General candidate Elliot Forhan stated in a campaign video that he would “kill Donald Trump” by securing a capital punishment conviction against him in court.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Elliot Forhan, President Donald J. Trump, Ohio GOP Attorney General Dave Yost, Ohio GOP Secretary of State Frank LaRose, and Auditor Keith Faber.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The video was posted on Forhan’s campaign Instagram account on Tuesday, with reactions following shortly after and into Wednesday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I’m going to obtain a conviction, rendered by a jury of his peers, at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence, presented at a trial, conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment. That is what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump.” – Elliot Forhan

🎯IMPACT: The statement has drawn backlash from political figures and social media users, with calls for accountability and condemnation of violent rhetoric.

IN FULL

A Democrat candidate for state attorney general in Ohio is facing intense pushback and possible legal repercussions after posting a campaign video where he stated that he would “kill Donald Trump.” In the video, Elliot Forhan—a former member of the Ohio legislature—states he would successfully prosecute President Donald J. Trump for unspecified crimes and secure a death sentence.

“I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump,” Forhan bluntly states in the video, continuing, “I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction, rendered by a jury of his peers, at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence, presented at a trial, conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment. That is what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump.”

A number of social media accounts quickly tagged the United States Secret Service (USSS) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), demanding that federal law enforcement treat the post as a threat. Notably, Forhan drew controversy last year following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. “F-ck Charlie Kirk,” Forhan wrote in a post on social media at the time.

Forhan, who briefly represented Cuyahoga County in the 135th Ohio General Assembly from 2023 to 2024, developed a reputation for being radical and outlandish. Ohio’s current Republican Attorney General Dave Yost previously slammed Forhan’s comments about Kirk, saying, “No public servant should say that about any human being, much less somebody who was just assassinated. He just proved himself to be a petulant and undisciplined child, ill-suited to public office.” Ohio GOP Secretary of State Frank LaRose also condemned the remarks, calling them “probably demented publicity designed to get attention” and “score cheap political points.”

Forhan responded to the backlash, claiming his “thoughts and prayers” were with Kirk’s family and loved ones but accusing Yost and LaRose of “glorifying the racism and bigotry” of the Turning Point USA founder and called for their resignations.

Current Ohio Auditor Keith Faber is the favorite to secure the Republican nomination for Ohio Attorney General and to win the general election.

Trump Warns Minneapolis Mayor is ‘Playing With Fire’ by Refusing to Uphold Federal Law.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump has warned Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) that he is “playing with fire” by vowing not to uphold federal immigration law.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Mayor Frey, and federal immigration authorities.

📍WHEN & WHERE: President Trump reacted to Frey’s comments on Truth Social on January 28.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Could somebody in his inner sanctum please explain that this statement is a very serious violation of the Law, and that he is PLAYING WITH FIRE!” – Donald Trump.

🎯IMPACT: The exchange re-escalates tensions between Minnesota Democrats and the federal government, after Trump sent Border Czar Tom Homan to the state in an effort to improve relations following the shooting of an anti-ICE activist.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump has sharply criticized Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey after the Democrat vowed that the city will not uphold federal immigration law. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said, “Surprisingly, Mayor Jacob Frey just stated that, ‘Minneapolis does not, and will not, enforce Federal Immigration Laws.’ This is after having had a very good conversation with him. Could somebody in his inner sanctum please explain that this statement is a very serious violation of the Law, and that he is PLAYING WITH FIRE!”

Trump had spoken to Frey and state governor Tim Walz (D), who have both used inflammatory rhetoric against federal law enforcement, after anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti’s fatal shooting, in an effort to ease tensions. The President also dispatched Border Czar Tom Homan to the state, with Frey saying he had had a “very good conversation” with the former ICE chief.

Frey and Walz moving back towards an aggressive posture may be driven by far-left activists in their supporter base, who besieged Walz’s office in the state capitol to protest his dialogue with Homan.

While Walz, Frey, and other state Democrats insist ICE is not making residents any safer, federal authorities have detained many highly dangerous criminals, including migrants convicted of triple homicide and strongarm rapes against children.
