Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday that an individual attempted to confront U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene.
“Last night, an individual attempted to confront one of our U.S. Attorneys—my dear friend [U.S. Attorney Alina Habba]—destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene,” Bondi stated, noting: “Thankfully, Alina is ok.”
“Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated. Period. This is unfortunately becoming a trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around the country,” the Attorney General continued, adding: “We will find this person, and the individual will be brought to justice. Our federal prosecutors, agents, and law-enforcement partners put their lives on the line every day to protect the American people, and this Department will use every legal tool available to ensure their safety and hold violent offenders fully accountable.”
The incident is still under investigation, and further updates are expected as details emerge.

🎯IMPACT: The seizure disrupts cartel operations and sends a strong message about U.S. efforts to dismantle smuggling networks.

An estimated 134 acres of land in Texas, previously used by the Gulf Cartel for smuggling activities, have been seized by U.S. authorities. “We took the land and everything on it. They thought they were untouchable. They were wrong,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced earlier this week, sharing a video that showed law enforcement arresting individuals linked to the cartel.
The Gulf Cartel, a Mexican drug trafficking organization, has been involved in smuggling arms, illegal drugs, and illegal immigrants into the United States, as well as kidnapping and murdering American citizens. The cartel also exploits U.S. lands to grow marijuana, taking advantage of sanctuary state policies and tribal land sovereignty.
“You think this is just about arrests? It’s not. We are dismantling your operations from the ground up. We’re cutting out your safe houses, your staging areas, your corridors. This is your warning,” CBP said in a direct message to the cartels. Over the past year, authorities have seized multiple cartel-linked assets, including properties and financial resources.
🚨 CARTEL PROPERTY SEIZED 🚨
Over 134 acres near Rio Grande City, TX—used by a drug cartel for smuggling—is now out of their hands. We didn’t just make arrests; we took the land and everything on it.
Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has proposed the Cartel Marque and Reprisal Authorization Act, which would allow private U.S. operators to seize cartel assets under government-issued letters of marque. Lee stated, “The Constitution provides for Letters of Marque and Reprisal as a tool against the enemies of the United States. Cartels have replaced corsairs in the modern era, but we can still give private American citizens and their businesses a stake in the fight against these murderous foreign criminals.”
In January, President Trump emphasized plans to launch strikes targeting cartels in Mexico. Additionally, Mexico recently transferred 37 cartel members to U.S. authorities under pressure from the Trump administration. Notably, CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott testified on Capitol Hill on Tuesday that securing the border and enforcing immigration laws directly impacts cartels’ ability to profit from illegal activities, stating, “Breaking this cycle requires certainty of consequences and complete border security.”

🎯IMPACT: The contract’s value more than tripled after 15 modifications, raising concerns about federal oversight and fiscal responsibility.
IN FULL
The former Biden government is being accused of having circumvented federal procurement rules in awarding a $529 million no-bid contract to Family Endeavors Inc. in March 2021. According to a newly released inspector general’s report, the contract was intended to establish and manage a 2,000-bed emergency intake site in Pecos, Texas, for unaccompanied minors, but, concerningly, Family Endeavors Inc. had brought a former Biden government staffer on board to secure the contract just months before it was approved.
Just two months before the contract was issued by the Administration of Children and Families (ACF), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Family Endeavors Inc. hired Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, a former Biden transition team advisor. Concerningly, in an undercover video, Lorenzen-Strait referred to the Endeavors contract as a “corrupt bargain” and discussed brokering other deals.
In the undercover video, Lorenzen-Strait also jokes about being golf buddies with Hunter Biden. In addition, he explains how he secured federal contracts for a number of clients despite the companies and non-profit groups lacking adequate experience or capabilities to win bids in a truly competitive environment.
Despite the inspector general’s allegations, the ACF—at the time—cited the COVID-19 emergency as the reason for the no-bid contract. However, the inspector general’s report concluded that the lack of competitive bidding resulted from “insufficient planning” rather than the cited emergency. The contract price was more than double the agency’s initial cost estimate of $244 million, and subsequent modifications increased the value to over three times the original estimate.
“ACF failed to reasonably conduct the necessary advanced planning to execute a contract for procurement of those beds and related services using full and open competition,” the report stated, adding: “ACF knew well in advance of March 2021 that it was projected to need more shelter beds than existing sites could provide and should have begun contract planning at that time.”

Gail Slater, the Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division, made the shock announcement on Thursday that she is stepping down from her role in the Trump administration. Slater, a key figure in the burgeoning populist antitrust legal movement, did not specify why she was leaving the DOJ.
“It is with great sadness and abiding hope that I leave my role as AAG for Antitrust today. It was indeed the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role,” Slater wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. She added, “Huge thanks to all who supported me this past year, most especially the men and women of [the Department of Justice Antitrust Division].”
The National Pulse reported in June of last year that Slater’s Antitrust Division secured a historic antitrust jury verdict against a home healthcare executive over a wage-fixing scheme in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. The case marked a significant legal landmark for the DOJ, affirming its legal authority to pursue criminal charges against figures accused of wage-fixing and labor market collusion.
Additionally, Slater oversaw Trump administration efforts in federal court to compel Google to divest from its Chrome web browser. While ultimately unsuccessful on the divestment question, the DOJ Antitrust Division secured a number of remedies against Google, including a prohibition on the company entering into any exclusive or otherwise anticompetitive contracts.
Still, Slater’s success at the DOJ was not without its detractors. The National Pulse reported last July that two of Slater’s top aides, Roger Alford and Bill Rinner, were fired in what appeared to be an effort by corporate interests to undermine Slater’s mission. “What if I told you this was happening because greedy, fake-MAGA world grifters and lobbyists are upset that the antitrust team was actually doing their job instead of taking cash from big corporates to turn a blind eye to monopolistic practices?” The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) at the time.
Notably, these concerns were later echoed by Alford, who warned that while some DOJ officials like his former superior, Gail Slater, uphold MAGA values and the rule of law, there are also “MAGA-in-name-only lobbyists and… DOJ officials enabling them… pursuing a different agenda.”

🎯IMPACT: DHS warned that Sherrill’s approach endangers public safety and ICE officers, citing a rise in violence against agents.
IN FULL
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill‘s (D) announcement that her administration has launched an online portal designed to track U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents is receiving strong pushback from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On Wednesday, Sherrill stated, “We are going to be standing up a portal, so people can upload all their cell videos and alert people,” further adding, “If you see an ICE agent in the street, get your phone out, we want to know.”
The decision by the New Jersey governor to move forward with the anti-ICE portal has drawn condemnation from the DHS, which asserted, “This certainly looks like obstruction of justice.” A spokesman for the federal department added, “This action by the Governor encourages violence against our officers and obstruction of our operations.”
According to the DHS, ICE officers continue to be the subject of violent assaults by anti-ICE agitators and other radical leftists, having seen a 1,300 percent increase in attacks since the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations began. “ICE law enforcement would not have to be in the field in New Jersey if we had state and local cooperation. Governor Sherrill is not letting that happen, which puts New Jerseyans in danger,” a DHS spokesman said, while pointing to the recent arrests of illegal immigrants in New Jersey, including individuals convicted of crimes such as rape, homicide, and child molestation.
In defense of the ICE tracking portal, Gov. Sherrill repeated the unfounded claim that ICE agents are “disappearing” people—including American citizens—from the streets. “They will pick people up. They will not tell us who they are. They will not tell us if they’re here legally. They won’t check. They’ll pick up American citizens,” Sherrill said.

🎯IMPACT: Over 4,000 arrests connected to the operation have been reported, with a significant reduction in personnel planned.
IN FULL
White House Border Czar Tom Homan announced on Thursday that the surge of federal immigration officers in Minnesota is coming to an end, with a drawdown set to occur over the course of next week. Homan stated, “I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude.”
Late last month, Homan—who was dispatched by the Trump White House to take Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota—announced that he had reached an agreement with state officials who committed to ensuring that Minnesota county jails will now notify ICE agents as to the release dates for migrants deemed “criminal public safety risks.” The Border Czar stated that the Trump administration would begin drawing down the number of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota as a result.
Subsequently, on February 4, Homan announced that federal authorities would begin “drawing down” 700 law enforcement personnel in Minnesota, leaving approximately 2,000 agents in the state—still a significant increase from the 150 agents present before the surge. Homan emphasized that the full drawdown would depend on the cessation of illegal and threatening activities targeting ICE and its federal partners.
The National Pulse reported earlier this week that Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) stated he anticipated Operation Metro Surge would last “days, not weeks and months.” Meanwhile, White House officials have reported that at least 4,000 arrests in Minnesota have been connected to the federal operation.

One million people living in this country don’t speak any English at all. Four million people living in this country barely speak passable English. And that’s the point he was making: that big areas of our towns and cities have been changed into something completely different to what they were, and that it’s all making us poorer.” – Nigel Farage
🎯IMPACT: Ratcliffe’s comments and Farage’s endorsement of them showcase the growing importance of mass migration and its consequences in Britain’s political discourse.
IN FULL
Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has endorsed British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent remarks on mass migration, insisting the INEOS founder and Manchester United co-owner is correct in highlighting the pressures on the country’s resources and identity. Sir Jim stated in a recent interview that Britain “has been colonized by immigrants,” arguing that the nation cannot sustain “an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in.”
In a video statement released on Thursday morning, Farage backed the Tycoon, saying, “What he said [is] that our population has gone up from 58 million to 70 million and that with nine million people of working age on benefits, we don’t need mass migration. He said much of the country had been colonized by immigrants.”
Addressing backlash from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and other liberals over the use of the word “colonized,” Farage said, “Now, that word was a controversial word, and he said, ‘OK, if you don’t like the word, we’ll tone it down.’ But just think about this: You ask yourself why public services have diminished. You ask yourself why rents have gone through the roof. The population explosion has done that.”
Farage pointed to the many visible changes in Britain’s urban areas, noting “parts of London, for example, where the road names, the Underground signs aren’t just in English, they’re in a foreign language as well. One million people living in this country don’t speak any English at all. Four million people living in this country barely speak passable English.”
He argued these shifts have fundamentally altered communities, “that big areas of our towns and cities have been changed into something completely different to what they were. And that it’s all making us poorer.”
Farage rejected the criticism of Sir Jim from the Prime Minister and corporate media outlets, declaring: “I don’t really care if Number 10 is in uproar or if much of mainstream media find his comments too difficult. I believe firmly that Jim Ratcliffe is right.”
YouGov tracking shows 69 percent of Britons believe immigration levels over the last ten years have been too high, with a mere four percent saying they have been too low and just 17 percent viewing them as about right, indicating broad public alignment with concerns raised by Ratcliffe and Farage.

🎯IMPACT: ICE will not suspend immigration enforcement during the soccer tournament, as Democrats have requested.
IN FULL
Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons told lawmakers during a congressional hearing that the agency will play a visible role in security for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stating that ICE is “a key part of the overall security apparatus for the World Cup.” His remarks came in response to questions about whether the agency would suspend enforcement operations during the tournament.
Lyons said ICE is committed to helping secure the tournament and ensuring the safety of those attending, saying, “ICE is dedicated to ensuring that everyone who visits the facilities will have a safe and secure event.” The United States will host 78 matches across 11 cities, while co-hosts Canada and Mexico will each stage 13 games.
The hearing followed controversy surrounding ICE operations in Minneapolis, in which anti-ICE activists Alex Pretti and Renee Good were shot and killed during confrontations with federal agents. The incidents, part of a broader immigration crackdown under President Donald J. Trump, prompted protests from coordinated leftist agitators and the deployment of approximately 3,000 agents to the city.
ICE’s role at major sporting events has been under scrutiny beyond the World Cup. In contrast to its planned participation in World Cup security, the agency previously indicated it would not conduct immigration enforcement operations at the Super Bowl, even as it supported broader security efforts coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Matthew Doyle did not give a full account of his actions. On Monday I promised my party and my country there will be change. And yesterday I removed the whip from Matthew Doyle.” – Sir Keir Starmer.
🎯IMPACT: The incident, coming so soon after revelations concerning Jeffrey Epstein-linked Lord Peter Mandelson, who was made ambassador to the U.S. by Starmer, has increased criticism of the Prime Minister’s judgement, with female Labour MPs questioning his leadership and decision-making.
IN FULL
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is facing mounting criticism after it emerged that Lord Matthew Doyle, whom he appointed to the House of Lords in January, had campaigned for Sean Morton, a councillor later convicted of possessing indecent images of children. The revelation has triggered anger within Labour ranks and renewed questions over the Prime Minister’s judgment in senior appointments, following his prior promotion of Jeffrey Epstein’s self-described “best pal” Lord Peter Mandelson.
Doyle supported Morton during the 2017 local election campaign despite Morton having already been charged with offenses involving indecent images of children. Starmer claims “Matthew Doyle did not give a full account of his actions… I promised my party and my country there will be change, and yesterday I removed the whip from Matthew Doyle.”
The controversy has prompted sharp criticism from Labour MPs, particularly among women in the party. Kim Johnson, Labour MP for Liverpool Riverside, said, “The Doyle revelations only confirm he’s not fit to govern. He’s only been in the Lords a matter of weeks, yet it was already known that he was a friend of—and campaigned for—a convicted pedophile. Another example of very poor judgment.”
Another female Labour MP drew comparisons with the Mandelson controversy, saying, “They knew about Mandelson and Epstein when they hired him and they knew about Doyle and Morton when they put him in the Lords, so you have to question their judgement.”
The Mandelson affair has already caused significant turbulence for Starmer’s government. The fallout contributed to the resignation of Starmer’s chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, further intensifying pressure on the Prime Minister.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Ongoing discussions following directives issued by the Trump administration in the U.S.; recent comments made at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.
💬KEY QUOTE: “The Trump administration, of course, wants to negotiate deals that meaningfully lower drug prices for American patients with every pharmaceutical company,” said White House spokesman Kush Desai.
🎯IMPACT: Companies without deals face potential Medicare price-setting pilot programs, which could significantly impact pricing and revenue structures, particularly for mid-sized firms.
IN FULL
Several pharmaceutical companies left out of the Trump administration’s initial drug pricing agreements are now seeking to negotiate their own deals, aiming to avoid potential tariffs and new Medicare price-setting initiatives, according to industry sources. Companies have begun contacting the White House and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to explore possible arrangements.
“The Trump administration, of course, wants to negotiate deals that meaningfully lower drug prices for American patients with every pharmaceutical company,” White House spokesman Kush Desai said.
The administration has already reached agreements with 16 major drugmakers, including Pfizer and Eli Lilly, to reduce prices on medicines sold through Medicaid. In exchange, those companies are shielded from future government price-setting measures. The deals are part of President Donald J. Trump’s broader push to lower U.S. drug prices by tying them more closely to prices paid in other developed nations. Additional agreements announced in recent months expanded the initiative to more large pharmaceutical firms, marking what the administration described as significant progress in cutting prescription costs for American patients.
However, many mid-sized and smaller drug manufacturers were not included in the initial round of negotiations. Bayer’s Global Head of Pharmaceuticals, Stefan Oelrich, said companies that were not contacted should still have a chance to participate. “Otherwise, that would be very odd, that only because you have size that you would get different treatment,” Oelrich stated.
Some smaller firms have formed a new trade group, the Midsized Biotech Alliance of America, to advocate for more inclusive negotiations and to push back against Medicare pilot programs known as GLOBE and GUARD. These pilots would require drugmakers to provide rebates if U.S. prices exceed those charged in certain foreign markets, potentially forcing broader price reductions under Medicare. While Medicaid represents about 10 percent of U.S. drug spending, Medicare’s larger footprint could create greater financial pressure.
Sanofi CEO Paul Hudson has indicated that larger companies may be better positioned to absorb pricing concessions, while mid-sized firms with fewer products face greater risk. “A lot of them are very worried that… they’re going to get stuck with what the bigger guys did that works for them and doesn’t work for the mid-sized guys,” said an industry lobbyist.

🎯IMPACT: The meeting signals ongoing discussions with Iran rather than immediate military escalation.
IN FULL
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House on Wednesday for a closed-door meeting with President Donald J. Trump for a discussion centered on Trump’s push for a new agreement with Iran aimed at curbing its nuclear ambitions. “There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a Deal can be consummated. If it can, I let the Prime Minister know that will be a preference,” President Trump stated in a post on Truth Social following the meeting.
However, the U.S. President added that if a deal with Iran cannot be reached, “we will just have to see what the outcome will be. Last time Iran decided that they were better off not making a Deal, and they were hit with Midnight Hammer — That did not work well for them.”
Netanyahu, who has long opposed lenient agreements with Iran, is believed to have expressed concerns about any deal that does not address Tehran’s ballistic missile program or its support for terror proxies. The Israeli leader has a history of advocating for uncompromising action, dating back to his opposition to the Obama-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The meeting comes as U.S. and Iranian representatives prepare to resume talks in Oman. Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and White House special envoy Steve Witkoff have been involved in preliminary discussions with Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Trump has stated his goal is to ensure Iran never develops nuclear weapons, while also applying military pressure with the deployment of a U.S. Navy carrier strike group to the region.
