📍WHEN & WHERE: The hearing occurred in 2019 with the text messages being revealed to the public in November 2025.
💬KEY QUOTE: “Hes opened the door to questions re who are the other henchmen at trump org.” — Jeffrey Epstein in a text to Del. Plaskett regarding live testimony by Michael Cohen.
🎯IMPACT: Plaskett has long held that she only had a passing relationship with Epstein—whose Little Saint James island made him effectively one of her constituents. However, the text messages suggest the two had a deeper, more intimate relationship, with Plaskett initiating the 2019 conversation, which used far more informal and familiar language than one would expect from a mere constituent-lawmaker conversation.
The trove of communications released by deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein‘s estate shows he coached House Democrat lawmaker Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) during a 2019 congressional hearing with Michael Cohen and other Trump Organization employees. The hearing and text exchange occurred prior to Epstein being federally charged for sex trafficking; however, he had already been convicted as a sex offender.
Delegate Plaskett appears to have initiated the conversation, messaging Epstein at 7:55 AM prior to the hearing, when she quipped, “He’ll talk about his grades.” Epstein moments later replied, “what privilege stands behind the none release [sic] of college transcripts?”
The conversation picks up just minutes after the 2019 hearing began, with Epstein messaging Plaskett, “Great outfit.” He texted again 20 minutes later, “You look great.” This prompted a response from Plaskett, “Thanks!” The exchange adds further evidence to long-held suspicions that Del. Plaskett and Epstein were on far friendlier terms than she ever publicly admitted.
After another 20 minutes, Esptein begins to coach Plaskett on both her on-camera appearance and what questions she should pose to the Trump Organization witnesses, including Cohen. When Plaskett appears to be chewing on camera, Epstein messaged, “Are you chewing?” Again, Plaskett responded in a friendly manner, writing, “Not any more. Chewing interior of my mouth. Bad habit from middle school.”
At 12:25 PM, Esptein messages Plaskett, advising her about Cohen’s statements, “Hes [sic] opened the door to questions re who are the other henchmen at trump org.”
“Yup. Very aware and waiting my turn,” Plaskett responded.
In another instance, Epstein notes that Cohen opened the door to questions about Rhona Graff, a Trump Organization employee. However, the convicted pedophile mispelled her name, calling her “RONA,” which Plaskett initially took to be an acronym until Epstein clarified.
Apparently growing impatient, Epstein then presses Plaskett on how much longer before she gets her turn to question witnesses before the committee. “How much longer for you,” he wrote at 12:50 PM. The Democrat lawmaker promptly responded, “Hours. Go to other mtgs.”
Then at 2:25 PM, Plaskett messages Epstein, “Quick I’m up next.” Moments later, following her first round of questioning, Epstein replies, “Good work.”
Notably, during her questioning of Cohen, Plaskett directly mentions Rhona Graff. “Are there other people that we should be meeting with?” she asked Cohen, with the now-disgraced attorney responding, “So Allen Weisselberg is the chief financial officer in The Trump Organization,” before being cut off by Plaskett.
At this point, Plaskett—appearing to take Epstein’s advice—interjects, “You’ve got to quickly give us as many names as you can so we can get to them. Is Ms. Rhona, what is Ms. Rhona’s…?”
This catches Cohen off guard, with him replying: “Rhona Graff is the—Mr. Trump’s executive assistant … She was—her office is directly next to his, and she’s involved in a lot that went on.”
Delegate Plaskett’s office over the weekend issued an official statement in response to her direct communications with Epstein during that 2019 hearing. “During the hearing, Congresswoman Plaskett received texts from staff, constituents and the public at large offering advice, support and in some cases partisan vitriol, including from Epstein. As a former prosecutor she welcomes information that helps her get at the truth and took on the GOP that was trying to bury the truth. The congresswoman has previously made clear her long record combating sexual assault and human trafficking, her disgust over Epstein’s deviant behavior and her support for his victims,” her office said.
Two of Epstein’s private islands were located within the territorial waters of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Great Saint James and Little Saint James—the latter being infamously dubbed ‘Pedo Island.’ Following federal charges being filed against Epstein, Delegate Plaskett initially resisted returning campaign donations from the pedophile financier; however, after mounting public pressure, she finally relented and gave back his campaign cash.
