The plane carrying former President Donald J. Trump made an unscheduled landing in Billings, Montana, on Friday afternoon due to a mechanical problem, according to officials. The issue forced a diversion from the planned route, with Trump scheduled to arrive in Bozeman, roughly 120 miles away by air, for a rally on Friday night.
Billings Airport confirmed the plane’s unexpected landing. Trump is anticipated to complete the journey to Bozeman on a private aircraft. Trump’s rally is slated for 8 PM local time at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, located on the campus of Montana State University. Among those expected to attend is Tim Sheehy, whom Trump has endorsed for the Montana U.S. Senate seat.
In a video statement, Trump commented on his substantial support in Montana and expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming rally and affiliated fundraising events. He also mentioned his plans to support Sheehy’s Senate campaign. Trump promised attendees that the rally would be “a lot of fun” and that he had additional stops planned for Saturday across various states. Privately, The National Pulse understands that the former President has become skeptical of some of the scheduling around his campaign, with the Montana trip a particular point of contention.
On Thursday, Trump announced his participation in three scheduled presidential debates in September. These debates will be hosted by Fox on September 4, ABC on September 10, and NBC on September 25. However, Harris appears to have rejected two of these debates, indicating on Friday her interest solely in the September 10 debate.
