The New York Times Opinion section on Friday led with an article entitled ‘The Brazen Evasions of Hunter Biden.’ In the piece, the Combating Kleptocracy Program at the Human Rights Foundation, explained:
With this month’s revelations that Hunter Biden directly contacted American officials for the benefit of foreign clients in Ukraine and allegedly Romania, and with Mr. Biden facing a new trial next month stemming from charges of tax evasion for the millions he received from foreign sources, the time has come to finally charge him as an unregistered foreign agent.
The National Pulse has covered the matter in extreme detail since 2020, and it was the starting point for the ‘War Room’ show, originally entitled ‘War Room: Impeachment,’ starring Steve Bannon, Jason Miller, and yours truly.
During that period, we went through the testimonies of witnesses with a fine-tooth comb. At the heart of the matter, we could find no wrongdoing, even behind closed doors. The facts went like this:
- On July 25, 2019, President Donald J. Trump had what he refers to as “a perfect call” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky;
- During the call, Trump congratulated Zelensky on a recent election victory, who in turn thanked him for the provision of Javelin, anti-tank systems;
- Then, Trump mentioned the issue of corruption, especially impacting the United States, to which Zelensky agreed, calling the matter “important” to him and urging Trump to send former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani over to collaborate on efforts to stamp it out;
- Then, Trump said: “The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that, so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.”
That was it. You can read the whole thing here, as Trump and his team urged people to at the time: “READ THE TRANSCRIPT!”
But over five years on from the perfect call, it’s not enough to have Hunter Biden charged as an unregistered foreign agent. Indeed, everyone who participated in that sham impeachment–for what we now know to be not just a perfect call but also a perfectly reasonable question about “Biden’s son”–should be prosecuted, stripped of their offices, and/or subject to the ritual humiliation that the media so readily aims at Donald Trump.
That includes House Judiciary Chairman at the time, Jerry Nadler (and all his staff, by the way). It includes former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (and all her staff, by the way). It includes Rep. Adam Schiff (and all his staff) and indeed all the members and staff of the Financial Services, Judiciary, Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, Oversight and Reform, and Ways and Means committees who clearly conspired not just to falsely charge a sitting president, but also to cover for Hunter Biden, his father Joe, and the foreign clients for whom Hunter was working.
It includes every impeachment witness who lied to try and have Trump removed from office under false pretenses: Lt. Col Alexander Vindman, Fiona Hill, Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, and a host of others who participated in the fraud on America. It should also include everyone who voted against Trump – that is, every sitting Democrat at the time – and, indeed, Mitt Romney.
Michel’s NYT op-ed concludes: “If charged, Mr. Biden would be the first member of a president’s immediate family facing foreign lobbying charges. If, despite his other charges, Mr. Biden is allowed to skate by without ever having had to register, disclose or detail his work abroad, then we’re setting the stage for more future family members, and more future regimes, to try the same thing, over and over and over again.”
The same applies to those who abused their authority, misused public funds, and engaged in a massive, RICO-style cover-up of the Biden family’s corruption. Not only was it used to cheat and help steal an election, but it directly led to misery for millions of Americans. If these people aren’t held to account, they’ll just do it again. Maybe to Trump, maybe to a future president. But it cannot go unanswered.
