A Look Inside the Rebuilt Notre-Dame Cathedral.

60 Minutes has been given access to the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, France, which has been extensively restored following a devastating fire in 2019. President Emmanuel Macron told the CBS show, “The decision to rebuild Notre-Dame, it was about our capacity to save, restore, sometimes reinvent what we are, by preserving where we come from.”

Speaking to a group of artisans and firefighters in the cathedral, President Emmanuel Macron said, “Never before have we seen such a construction site. You all had your share in the project of the century.” He continued, “The burning of Notre Dame was a national wound, and you were its remedy, [restoring it] through determination, hard work and commitment.”

The restoration of the 12th-century Christian monument appears to have been largely faithful. Traditionalists successfully resisted modernists’ initial efforts to install a glass roof or replace the cathedral spire with a glass spike or even an Islamic minaret.

Afghan Posed as Teen to Rape 13-Year-Old Girl.

A 28-year-old asylum seeker is on trial for allegedly posing as a teenager on Snapchat to groom and rape a 13-year-old schoolgirl, with DNA evidence reportedly linking him to the crime.

He denied the rape, and is being assisted in court by a Pashto interpreter at taxpayers’ expense.

However, it has been revealed that, under this supposedly equitable deal, 1,117 migrants have been admitted to Britain while only 1,087 illegals have been removed. This means that Britain has accepted more arrivals than it has returned. The new data follows new Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s defense of the government’s current approach to the Channel crisis.

The alert warned Spaniards that roughly 49,000 illegal migrants from Morocco had rushed the Spanish border, a figure that later rose to around 70,000. The alert described the incident as “the worst migrant crisis registered in the city since May 2021.” The unnamed former staffer, who had worked at the DSN since 2018, was fired over the phone. The information about the illegal migrant surge at Ceuta was allegedly “not meant to be public, as it was intended solely for internal use,” according to Spanish media. “Despite the government’s lack of foresight, the only person dismissed was the civil servant. And this, even though the data she released was accurate,” stated online outlet El Español. The dismissal process was reportedly unusually abrupt, bypassing typical protocols for reassigning officials to their original departments. “According to the same sources, that department had not been formally notified of her dismissal,” wrote ABC, a Spanish daily newspaper.
