An incident involving a Boeing aircraft at Muan International Airport in South Korea resulted in the plane veering off the runway and colliding with a barrier on Sunday, according to local news agency Yonhap. The aircraft was reportedly carrying 175 passengers alongside six members of the cabin crew.
At the last update, 179 are believed to have died, with just two, who were crew members, rescued.
The crash is the worst aviation disaster in South Korean history.
Current working theories about the crash suggest the plane struck birds on its descent, which possibly caused a hydraulic malfunction, leading to the landing gear not deploying.
