U.S. ‘Adds’ 256,000 Jobs, But Are the Numbers Real, and Who’s Getting the Work?

In December, the U.S. labor market purportedly added 256,000 jobs, exceeding economists’ predictions. This performance appears to have surpassed the anticipated increase of just 153,000 jobs. Additionally, the unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent, defying expectations that it would hold at 4.2 percent.

However, as The National Pulse has previously reported, the Biden government has a track record of releasing fake employment numbers, only for them to be “revised down” in subsequent quarters.

Further analysis revealed most new jobs created under the Biden government are going to new migrants, rather than American workers.

Ger Doyle, U.S. country manager at ManpowerGroup, viewed the December jobs report positively, calling it a promising indicator. Nonetheless, Doyle cautioned that the labor market might face hurdles until inflation is more contained, potentially affecting hiring, layoffs, and job growth.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics highlighted that significant job gains occurred in the health care, government, and social assistance sectors. Retail companies also saw an increase in employment, following a decline in November.

Trump Admin Partners With Musk’s Grok AI.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Elon Musk’s xAI signed a deal with the General Services Administration (GSA) to integrate its Grok AI chatbot with federal agencies.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Elon Musk, xAI, the GSA, and Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The agreement was recently announced, with implementation expected across U.S. federal agencies.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Thanks to President Trump and his administration, xAI’s frontier AI is now unlocked for every federal agency empowering the U.S. Government to innovate faster and accomplish its mission more effectively than ever before.” – Elon Musk.

🎯IMPACT: The partnership could enhance government efficiency but may also raise concerns among Musk’s political opponents regarding his influence in federal operations.

IN FULL

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, has entered into a partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide its Grok chatbot for use across federal agencies. The deal is being promoted as a step toward modernizing government services through advanced AI tools, and it will make xAI’s latest Grok models available to agencies through March 2027.

Musk said, xAI has the “most capable AI models in the world.” He credited President Donald J. Trump for laying the groundwork for this partnership, stating, “Thanks to President Trump and his administration, xAI’s frontier AI is now unlocked for every federal agency empowering the U.S. Government to innovate faster and accomplish its mission more effectively than ever before.”

Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum praised the move, calling it essential to government modernization. “Widespread access to advanced AI models is essential to building the efficient, accountable government that taxpayers deserve.”

However, the move is not without controversy, with Grok recently referring to itself as “MechaHitler” and writing fiction about violently sodomizing online liberal personality Will Stancil. A study also found that, in more normal circumstances, Grok, like other large language models, tends to lean left politically, raising questions about potential bias in federally deployed AI tools.

This development places xAI alongside other major AI providers like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Meta, all of whom are part of the federal government’s list of approved AI vendors. It also aligns with GSA’s OneGov strategy, which aims to streamline technology acquisition across government agencies.

BREAKING: Ex FBI Director James Comey Finally Indicted.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted on two counts: making false statements (perjury) and obstruction of justice.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: James Comey, President Donald Trump, and others.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Indictment followed recent events in the Eastern District of Virginia.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Pam Bondi is doing a GREAT job as Attorney General of the United States…but needs a tough prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia, like my recommendation, Lindsey Halligan, to get things moving.” – Donald Trump, earlier this week.

🎯IMPACT: The charges represent a significant escalation in breaking the deep state.

IN FULL

Former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted on two counts: making false statements and obstruction of justice. This development comes after President Donald Trump publicly called for prosecutions against Comey and others, urging the Justice Department to act “now.”

The charges follow Trump’s dismissal of Erik Siebert, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, who reportedly had reservations about pursuing cases against Comey. Trump replaced Siebert with Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide and his former defense attorney.

In June 2023, Comey expressed fear of a Trump return, telling the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) he found the notion “deeply chilling, because he will be the ‘retribution president’… smarter than he was last time.”

The case against Comey could become a pivotal test for both the Justice Department and the federal judiciary, with far-reaching implications for the intersection of politics and law enforcement.

Russian Official Issues Nuclear Threat to Trump’s America.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Dmitry Medvedev, a high-ranking Kremlin official and former President of Russia, issued a nuclear threat to the U.S. following comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about targeting Russian infrastructure with American-supplied weaponry.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Dmitry Medvedev, Volodymyr Zelensky, President Donald J. Trump, NATO allies, and Russian officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Comments were made amid ongoing tensions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with updates shared during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

💬KEY QUOTE: “What the freak needs to know is that Russia can use weapons a bomb shelter won’t protect against. Americans should also keep this in mind.” – Dmitry Medvedev

🎯IMPACT: Escalating tensions between NATO and Russia increase risks of a direct confrontation, with both sides armed with nuclear weapons.

IN FULL

Kremlin official Dmitry Medvedev, a former President of Russia, has issued a stark warning to the United States, saying Russia possesses weapons that “a bomb shelter won’t protect against,” after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that Moscow officials should prepare to take cover if they continue their war in Ukraine.

In a recent interview, Zelensky said President Donald J. Trump had explicitly backed Ukrainian strikes on Russian targets, including arms factories and energy infrastructure. He added that if Ukraine “receives more long-range American weaponry, then we will use it.”

Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and a former Russian president and prime minister, responded on the social media platform X, writing, “The Kiev drug addict said the Kremlin should know where a bomb shelter is so its occupants can hide when he uses long‑range American weapons. What the freak needs to know is that Russia can use weapons a bomb shelter won’t protect against. Americans should also keep this in mind.”

Tensions between Moscow and NATO have intensified, as both sides possess large nuclear arsenals and increasingly view each other as direct threats. NATO members have accused Russia of breaching their airspace, with Poland recently shooting down a dozen Russian drones that entered its airspace.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Trump urged NATO countries to continue defending their airspace and expressed confidence in Ukraine’s ability to reclaim lost territory. On Truth Social, he wrote, “Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years, a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win. Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!”

Medvedev has a history of incendiary remarks concerning Ukraine. In March 2024, he published a map showing Ukraine reduced to a small area around Kiev, claiming “Ukraine is definitely Russia.” In August 2025, his nuclear rhetoric prompted a sharp U.S. response, with the Trump administration reportedly deploying nuclear submarines in reaction to what it called his “foolish and inflammatory” comments.

Trump Directs Feds to Tackle Far-Left Domestic Extremists and Their Funders.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump announced on Thursday that he is signing an Executive Order directing federal law enforcement and counter-terrorism agencies to coordinate against rising threats posed by domestic political extremists.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, federal law enforcement, federal counter-terrorism agencies, and far-left organizations like Antifa.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, September 25, 2025, in the Oval Office.

💬KEY QUOTE: “These are professional agitators, these are bad people, and they’re paid a lot of money by rich people, some of whom we know,” President Trump said after signing the order, adding: “[George] Soros is a name that I hear… Maybe I hear about a guy named Reid Hoffman.”

🎯IMPACT: The directive aims to dismantle the funding and recruiting apparatuses behind anarchist and far-left groups like Antifa, which have fueled a deadly escalation in political violence over recent months.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump announced on Thursday that he is signing an Executive Order directing federal law enforcement and counter-terrorism agencies to coordinate against rising threats posed by domestic political extremists. The directive aims to dismantle the funding and recruiting apparatuses behind anarchist and far-left groups like Antifa, which have fueled a deadly escalation in political violence over recent months.

These are professional agitators, these are bad people, and they’re paid a lot of money by rich people, some of whom we know,” President Trump said after signing the order, adding: “[George] Soros is a name that I hear… Maybe I hear about a guy named Reid Hoffman.”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller hailed the move as bringing the “entire force of the federal government to uproot these organizations root and branch,” while Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel emphasized federal law enforcement will “follow the money.”

Addressing both violent crime and political violence has emerged as a top priority of the Trump administration following months of violent riots targeting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducting enforcement actions. The violence, however, escalated in recent weeks with the targeted assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, allegedly by 22-year-old Utah leftist Tyler Robinson. That act was followed by 29-year-old leftist Joshua Jahns opening fire on an ICE field office in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday.

For several months, Antifa members and other far-left activists—with the backing of local Democrat lawmakers—have essentially laid siege to an ICE detention facility in Portland, Oregon, with local police being directed not to intervene. In response to Antifa’s increasingly violent acts, President Trump declared the far-left group a domestic terrorist organization.

Farage Denounces Far-Left UK PM’s Mandatory Digital ID Cards Plan.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Reform Party leader Nigel Farage criticised the British government’s plans for mandatory digital identification cards, calling them an unprecedented threat to civil liberties.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Nigel Farage, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, and civil liberties groups including Liberty and Big Brother Watch.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The final announcement of Starmer’s “BritCard” system is expected on September 26,

💬KEY QUOTE: “They can know where you are at every given moment in time. They see what money goes in and out of your accounts.” – Nigel Farage

🎯IMPACT: Civil liberties organisations warn the system could harm privacy, equality, and civil rights, while failing to address illegal immigration.

IN FULL

Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has strongly criticised the British government’s plan to impose a mandatory digital ID system, calling it a serious threat to personal freedom. Farage said he is “vehemently opposed to this in every single way,” warning that such a scheme would give the state excessive control over the lives of ordinary citizens.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, of the far-left Labour Party, is expected to announce the introduction of the “BritCard” later this week. The proposed system would require all adults in the United Kingdom to obtain a digital ID to prove their legal right to live and work in the country. This marks a significant change in how individuals interact with the state and access public services.

Farage expressed deep concerns about the potential for mass surveillance, saying, “They can know where you are at every given moment in time. They see what money goes in and out of your accounts.” He also raised concerns about climate restrictions that could be enforced through digital monitoring, warning, “They can decide ‘you can’t go to Marbella, you’ve used up your carbon footprint for the year.’”

Referencing the COVID-19 pandemic, Farage drew comparisons with the use of vaccine passports, which divided society. “Frankly, for me, I saw enough during the pandemic with vaccine passports. It created a two-tier society of who could travel and who couldn’t,” he said. “You were seen as a danger unless you were vaxxed. Our freedoms were taken away in that period like we have never seen before.”

The plan has also sparked backlash from civil liberties groups. Both Liberty and Big Brother Watch have warned that the BritCard could threaten privacy and equality. Big Brother Watch has collected more than 101,000 signatures against the proposal, arguing that it could force vulnerable migrants into even more insecure conditions without effectively tackling illegal immigration.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, however, supports the move, arguing that digital IDs could help reduce unlawful employment and improve access to government services.

The United Kingdom is not alone in pushing digital identification systems. Similar efforts are underway in the European Union (EU), where digital IDs are being linked with banking data, health records, and even biometric tracking. Critics warn that these systems could lead to greater government surveillance and loss of personal autonomy.

Global political figures like former British Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair have also advocated using digital ID systems to monitor and isolate political opposition, including those associated with populist movements.

Ford Recalls 115,000 Vehicles in U.S. Due to Steering Flaw.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 115,539 vehicles in the U.S. due to a steering defect that could lead to the detachment of the steering column’s upper shaft.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Ford Motor Company, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the affected models’ owners.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The issue was first reviewed on June 26, 2025, and the recall involves vehicles produced at the Kentucky Truck Plant before October 1, 2020.

🎯IMPACT: Vehicle owners will receive notifications starting October 6, 2025, with remedies expected in December. No accidents or injuries have been reported related to the defect.

IN FULL

The Ford Motor Company has announced a recall for 115,539 vehicles in the United States, prompted by concerns raised by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over a steering defect. The defect, if present, could cause the upper shaft of the steering column to detach, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects the 2020-2021 Ford F-Super Duty trucks, including the F-250, F-350, and F-450 models. Concerningly, this could impact upwards of between 10 percent and 15 percent of F-series trucks sold by the automaker over that year—marking a signficant recall measure.

According to the second-largest automaker in the United States, Ford dealers will inspect and—if necessary—repair or replace the steering column’s upper shaft free of charge to vehicle owners. NHTSA noted that vehicle owners will be notified of the issue starting October 6, 2025, with a second round of notifications expected in December once a definitive remedy is in place.

The issue was first reviewed by Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group on June 26, 2025. Investigations revealed changes in the manufacturing process, with a second staking method introduced in February 2021 to improve the upper shaft’s design. Vehicles produced at the Kentucky Truck Plant before October 1, 2020, were found to have potentially defective parts. However, no accidents or injuries have been linked to the defect so far.

This recall follows several others by Ford in recent months, including one earlier in the month for 1.45 million vehicles over a defective rear-view camera system and another in August involving 355,656 light trucks with faulty instrument panel displays.

House Investigates Uber Over Unreported Sexual Assaults.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A House oversight subcommittee has launched an inquiry into Uber’s handling of sexual assault and misconduct incidents on its platform.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber drivers, sexual assault victims, and ride-share service users.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The inquiry was announced on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The disparity between previously disclosed data and recent reporting raises concerns about the accuracy and completeness of safety data,” said Rep. Nancy Mace.

🎯IMPACT: The inquiry highlights a significant safety concern for ride-sharing users and may lead to increased scrutiny and regulatory changes for Uber.

IN FULL

The House Oversight Subcommittee for Cybersecurity has launched an inquiry into ride-share giant Uber‘s response to sexual assault allegations and misconduct cases against the company’s drivers. A recent investigation found that the frequency of such incidents is far greater than what Uber has publicly acknowledged.

Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), who chairs the subcommittee, addressed a letter to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, questioning the company’s methods for identifying, responding to, and disclosing these incidents. The inquiry underscores a persistent safety issue for those using ride-sharing services.

“The volume of incidents uncovered by recent reporting indicates a persistent safety hazard for those who rely on ride sharing for transportation and highlights a need for enhanced and expanded safety tools to better prevent sexual assault and misconduct,” Mace wrote, adding: ” The disparity between previously disclosed data and recent reporting raises concerns about the accuracy and completeness of safety data.”

Notably, the recent independent investigation revealed that between 2017 and 2022, Uber received reports of sexual assault or misconduct on average every eight minutes, totaling 400,181 incidents in the U.S. alone. Previously, Uber had only disclosed 12,522 serious sexual assault cases during that period.

In response, Uber spokesman Matt Kallman stated, “We appreciate the opportunity to meet with subcommittee staff to share more about Uber’s leading technology, strong policies and expert partnerships that prioritize women’s safety.”

The company claims that 99.9 percent of trips occur without incident and that many reports are less serious or potentially fraudulent. Nevertheless, Uber faces over 3,000 lawsuits related to sexual misconduct, while its competitor Lyft is dealing with hundreds of similar cases.

H-1B Migrants Are Being Used to Fill DEI Jobs.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has revealed that a number of American companies are abusing the H-1B visa program to fill diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) jobs.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Sen. Eric Schmitt, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), American companies, and H-1B visa applicants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Schmitt revealed his office’s findings on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “[I]n light of everything we know about DEI, it’s alarming that American employers appear to be importing foreign workers to work in these roles—placing non-Americans in positions where they are tasked with policing the speech and thought of our own citizens.” — Sen. Eric Schmitt

🎯IMPACT: Schmitt is requesting USCIS issue guidance “clarifying that positions relating to DEI… do not qualify as H-1B specialty occupations” and “conduct a focused review of approvals… to identify DEI-tagged cases and take appropriate corrective action.”

IN FULL

United States Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has revealed that a number of American companies are abusing the H-1B visa program to fill diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) jobs. The revelation is especially egregious as some progressive political figures have justified DEI programs and employment as a means to lift up so-called “marginalized” ethnic minority Americans.

“This is outrageous. Some U.S. companies are using H-1B visas to staff their DEI offices,” Sen. Schmitt wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “I’ve reviewed numerous examples of hospitals, universities and other employers hiring foreign H-1B workers as DEI bureaucrats. I’m urging USCIS [U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services] to work with us to fix this.”

The Missouri Republican says his office has obtained and reviewed a number of H-1B visa requests filed by American employers to fill DEI roles. Schmitt notes, “For example, Yale New Haven Health filed Labor Condition Applications (LCA) for H-1B visas for the role of ‘Diversity and Inclusion Specialist’ in 2021.” Other academic institutions, according to the Senator, have filed similar visa requests for DEI positions, including Carnegie Mellon University and Dartmouth College.

However, the H-1B to DEI office pipeline isn’t just isolated to higher academia: “Examples range from large banks and law firms to universities, healthcare systems, and even municipal park districts,” Sen. Schmitt states. “Obviously, DEI positions are plainly non-technical and ideological in nature, and appear to fall outside the ‘specialty occupation’ intent of the H-1B statute.”

“More to the point, in light of everything we know about DEI, it’s alarming that American employers appear to be importing foreign workers to work in these roles—placing non-Americans in positions where they are tasked with policing the speech and thought of our own citizens,” Schmitt warns.

Following his office’s investigation, the Missouri Senator is requesting USCIS issue guidance “clarifying that positions relating to DEI… do not qualify as H-1B specialty occupations” and “provide my office with a full report and a briefing on approved H-1B petitions in DEI-tagged roles for FY2021–FY2024.” Additionally, Schmitt is asking USCIS to “conduct a focused review of approvals over the aforementioned time period to identify DEI-tagged cases and take appropriate corrective action.”

Trump Economy Surges as Consumer Spending Rises, Trade Deficit Shrinks.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: America’s economic resurgence under President Trump continues as Q2 2025 GDP growth is revised up to 3.8 percent, reflecting strong consumer spending, rising incomes, and a narrowing trade gap.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai, and economic analysts.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Q2 2025, United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “America’s economic resurgence under President Trump continues: revised data show even stronger real GDP growth of 3.8 percent in Q2 2025 thanks to the Trump agenda of tax cuts, deregulation, tariffs, and energy abundance. And this is just the beginning.” – Kush Desai

🎯IMPACT: The fastest economic growth in nearly two years, increased small business confidence, and a surge in durable goods demand signal a robust U.S. economy powered by private sector growth.

IN FULL

Second-quarter GDP has been revised up to 3.8 percent, after the initial print in July showed GDP at 3.0 percent. Notably, the revised number now puts second-quarter growth significantly higher than the forecasted 2.4 percent by economists surveyed by Bloomberg. The White House, hailing the news, credits the surge in economic development to President Donald J. Trump’s tariff policies, as well as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act’s tax cuts, deregulation, and energy abundance.

“America’s economic resurgence under President Trump continues: revised data show even stronger real GDP growth of 3.8 percent in Q2 2025 thanks to the Trump agenda of tax cuts, deregulation, tariffs, and energy abundance. And this is just the beginning: new data from today also shows core capital goods orders beat expectations, paving the way for robust investment growth in Q3,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai said in a statement, adding: “President Trump pledged to Make America Wealthy Again, and with Joe Biden’s inflation crisis tamed, we are now laying the groundwork for a long-term restoration of American Greatness.”

In addition to the GPD revision, real disposable income growth was also revised up to 3.1 percent, showing significant gains in wages and income. This marks the fastest pace of economic growth in nearly two years.

Meanwhile, manufacturers’ demand for durable goods surged in August, exceeding expectations and signaling confidence in future investments. Factory production increased for goods and services, while government output decreased, highlighting private sector-driven growth.

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, small business confidence has reached its highest level in nearly a decade. New home sales also soared in August, marking a three-year high and the strongest market for homebuyers in over a decade.

This Ivy League School Is Slashing Over a Hundred Jobs After Trump Admin Settlement.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Brown University announced it will lay off 48 employees and eliminate 55 unfilled positions as part of a $15 million cost reduction effort.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Brown University, its academic and administrative departments, and former student Alex Shieh.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced Monday, measures will impact departments across the university’s campus in Providence, Rhode Island.

💬KEY QUOTE: “In recent years, Ivy League colleges have morphed into a bloated ‘educational industrial complex’ run by self-dealing administrators who charge families record tuition and divert the money to layers of staff that add little to the classroom.” – Alex Shieh

🎯IMPACT: The layoffs and budget cuts aim to address a $30 million budget deficit for fiscal year 2026, while sparking broader conversations about administrative spending in higher education.

IN FULL

Brown University announced this week that it is drastically scaling back staff and operating expenses after reaching a settlement agreement with the Trump administration in July. Following the agreement requiring Brown to pay $50 million to state workforce development programs and other public investments, the Ivy League university says it will now lay off nearly 50 employees, eliminate 55 unfilled positions, and reduce overhead costs, totalling $15 million in savings for the school.

Currently, Brown faces a daunting $30 million budget deficit for the 2026 fiscal year, requiring administrators to enact budget reduction measures. “The implementation of these measures will take place across a range of academic and administrative departments and offices on campus,” a Brown University spokesman announced. University staff impacted by the workforce reduction will be offered severance packages and career transition support.

“One of the most significant decisions in developing the strategy to close this additional $30 million budget gap was to evenly divide budget measures between central University actions to reduce expenses by $15 million and giving academic and administrative units the discretion to decide how and where to reduce spending in their own areas to achieve the remaining $15 million in reductions,” the university said.

Former Brown student Alex Shieh, who made headlines for his criticism of administrative roles, commented on the layoffs, stating, “In recent years, Ivy League colleges have morphed into a bloated ‘educational industrial complex’ run by self-dealing administrators who charge families record tuition and divert the money to layers of staff that add little to the classroom.”

Shieh argued that these administrative positions do not serve students and contribute to soaring tuition costs, which he noted are now as high as $93,064 annually.
