President Donald J. Trump has already begun deporting illegal immigrants back to their home countries, announcing that deportation flights out of the United States have begun. The Trump White House announced flights on Thursday, just days after border czar Tom Homan revealed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids are underway.
“Just as he promised, President Trump is sending a strong message to the world: those who enter the United States illegally will face serious consequences,” the Trump White House announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. The announcement was accompanied by a photo of illegal immigrants boarding U.S. military aircraft, which will return them to their country of origin.

Reports suggest that the first deportation flights will be heading to Guatemala. One C-17 military aircraft took off from Biggs Army Air Field, Texas, Friday, while another took off from Tucson, Arizona. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has sent 1,500 troops to the southern border to join the 2,500 already there as part of the new administration’s effort to prevent illegal crossings.
Shortly after being inaugurated on Monday, President Trump shut down the notorious El Paso border checkpoint, which saw a flood of illegals enter under former President Joe Biden. Along with securing the border, the Trump administration has made it clear the large-scale deportations of illegal immigrants will continue to ramp up in the coming weeks.
Yesterday, border czar Tom Homan stated ICE had arrested over 1,300 illegal immigrants, some of whom were wanted for serious crimes ranging from murder to child rape. According to Homan, ICE is currently targeting illegals wanted for serious crimes, saying they are deporting “the worst first.”
