The detachment, believed to originate from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California, comes after a weekend of violent riots broke out across Los Angeles, with demonstrators setting fire to cars, blocking highways, and attempting to storm a federal illegal immigration detention facility.

Currently, 2,000 members of the National Guard have been called up in California, though only about 300 of them have been deployed to the streets. Notably, this move came after the Democratic Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, resisted dispatching the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to restore order until the situation had already spiraled out of control. So far, over 150 people have been arrested by the LAPD, and a number of businesses and other properties have been damaged.

The National Guard soldiers and Marines are being tasked with property protection only. Under law, they are not allowed to engage in policing action on American soil unless President Donald J. Trump invokes the Insurrection Act. Already, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is suing the Trump administration, seeking a federal court order blocking the federalization and deployment of the National Guard soldiers.

Notably, the National Pulse reported earlier on Monday that the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), one of the lead organizers of the demonstrations, received nearly $34 million in grants from California and has strong ties to the Democrats.

Violent anti-ICE and pro-illegal immigrant demonstrations have broken out beyond Los Angeles, with 60 individuals being arrested in San Francisco.

Cuong Chanh Phan, a Vietnamese national, is a known gang member and has been convicted of second-degree murder.

The Trump Administration released the details of over a dozen criminals, saying they had all been taken off the streets by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other agencies within the last several days.

“Democrats like [Governpr] Gavin Newsom and [Los Angeles Mayor] Karen Bass should be thanking President Trump for stepping up and leading where they refused—and for ridding their streets of criminal illegal immigrant killers, rapists, and gangbangers,” the White House said in the statement.

State Representative Kaohly Vang Her (D), during a debate on expanding illegal immigrant eligibility for MinnesotaCare, revealed that her father had committed immigration fraud, listing his grandmother as his mother, as the latter was deceased.

“Because his mother had died, my father—as the one processing the paperwork—put my grandmother down as his mother,” Rep. Her stated on the Minnesota House floor, apparently alluding to fraud committed on immigration paperwork. She continued: “And so I am illegal in this country. My parents are illegal here in this country.”

Minnesota law stipulates that any person who holds office must be eligible to vote in state elections. Notably, only United States citizens can cast a ballot for state positions in Minnesota. This would suggest that Kaohly Vang Her, who came to the U.S. as a Hmong refugee, is ineligible to serve in the state legislature.

“My family was just smarter in how we illegally came here,” the Minnesota Democrat lawmaker said, adding: “My family broke the law to come here. I never knew that. I just learned that now.”

While Rep. Her appears to technically be a naturalized United States citizen, that status could be called into question as, by her own admission, her father made false statements when attaining legal residency in the country. Such acts can result in the federal government taking action to denaturalize an individual or individuals determined to have made false statements or concealed material facts on their immigration application.

Pro-illegal immigrant rioters in downtown Los Angeles turned their attention to Waymo autonomous vehicles on Sunday, vandalizing and setting several of the driverless taxis ablaze. The incidents occurred as violent demonstrations against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) escalated in the Civic Center area, with some far-left agitators spilling onto the 101 Freeway, forcing its closure for several hours.

Law enforcement officers from the California Highway Patrol worked to disperse the crowd, detaining multiple rioters. Meanwhile, a group of protesters specifically targeted Waymo vehicles parked on Los Angeles Street near Arcadia and Alameda streets. Witnesses reported seeing rioters slashing tires, smashing windows, and spray-painting anti-ICE messages on the cars.

The situation escalated further when three of the five vehicles were set on fire, sending thick black smoke into the air. Protesters reportedly used skateboards to break windows and makeshift flamethrowers to ignite the interiors of the vehicles. Lime electric scooters were also thrown into the flames, adding to the destruction.

The Los Angeles Police Department warned the public to avoid the area, stating: “Burning lithium-ion batteries release toxic gases, including hydrogen fluoride, posing risks to responders and those nearby.”

Waymo, a Google subsidiary, has been operating its self-driving taxi service in Los Angeles since November, following launches in San Francisco and Phoenix. The company confirmed it was in contact with law enforcement and expressed concern for public safety.

This is not the first time Waymo vehicles have been targeted. Previous incidents in San Francisco involved passengers reporting harassment and obstruction. Most of these have involved predators attempting to follow or force entry into an autonomous vehicle carrying a female passenger.

In at least one incident, a female passenger, being followed by a group of men in another car and unable to stop or divert her Waymo ride, called 911, only to be told by police they could not respond to a moving vehicle. Waymo claims such incidents are rare.

Scores of Arrests After Anti-ICE Violence Spread to New City.

San Francisco police arrested 60 rioters late Sunday during a “solidarity” protest targeting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which escalated into violence and vandalism. This was organized to complement ongoing riots in Los Angeles, also directed at federal law enforcement.

The San Francisco protest began outside ICE headquarters, where demonstrators carrying Palestinian and other foreign flags and socialist placards gathered in support of pro-illegal immigrant agitators rioting against ICE raids in Los Angeles. As police arrived, the crowd reportedly moved toward officers, forming a line and pushing against them. Projectiles, including eggs and a glass bottle, were thrown at the headquarters and law enforcement officers, leading to a 40-minute standoff.

The San Francisco Police Department declared the gathering an unlawful assembly at 7:33 PM, citing escalating violence and criminal behavior. According to a police spokesman, offenses ranged from assault to felony vandalism. Juveniles were among those detained, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.

By 8:30 PM, many protesters had dispersed from ICE headquarters but spread into downtown San Francisco, where acts of vandalism continued. Buildings were tagged with graffiti, police cruisers were destroyed, and Chase Bank and Fendi storefronts were smashed.

Police began making arrests after corralling several dozen agitators who refused to disperse. Two officers sustained injuries during the unrest, one of whom required hospital treatment. The protest was organized, in part, by NorCal Resist, a group opposing deportation efforts.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) issued a combative response Sunday evening to Border Czar Tom Homan, who warned earlier in the day that federal authorities would continue enforcing immigration laws in Los Angeles and state officials standing in the way would face obstruction charges.

Homan, a former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), did not rule anything out when asked if this could extend to Governor Newsom or Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. “I’ll say it about anybody,” he stated. “You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. Far-left protestors and illegal immigrants demonstrating against federal immigration enforcement actions turned destructive, prompting Trump to activate roughly 2,000 National Guard members to protect federal property.

The protests began Friday after federal agents detained dozens of individuals suspected of being in the United States illegally.
