Financial institutions and political vendors for Trump-aligned PACs were targeted with subpoenas, suggesting that Smith sought to establish monetary links between hundreds of consulting firms, advisors, and nonprofits that he could subsequently prosecute—presumably under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act—if he had secured a conviction against Trump.

Hancock said he supports fair competition but questioned the criteria used to determine eligibility. “How do we audit that somebody was economically discriminated against? How do we verify the information of somebody being economically discriminated against? It’s got to be more than just skin color,” he said. He added that contracts should be awarded “on merit rather than race or ethnicity.”

The move follows an executive order issued by Governor Greg Abbott (R) earlier this year prohibiting race- and sex-based preferences in the distribution of government benefits or opportunities. Abbott said the order was necessary to ensure equality in state hiring and contracting practices. Speaking to YouTuber Turkey Tom, the person described Robinson—who allegedly assassinated Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025—as “really level-headed and easy-going” while characterizing Twiggs, Robinson’s transgender lover, as someone whose mood fluctuated between depressive and manic states.

The acquaintance recalled how Twiggs would take days off work during depressive episodes to use THC vapes and scroll through social media. They also described Twiggs’s erratic behavior, such as creating “nests” of clutter in their apartment and experimenting with substances like LSD, magic mushrooms, DMT, and alcohol. The person noted that Twiggs’ relationship with his mother was strained, often leading to arguments followed by rants against Republicans and Mormons.

Robinson, described as “apolitical” at first, reportedly began discussing political topics more often after the 2020 presidential election. Twiggs’s political views became increasingly left-wing, with complaints about being misgendered and frustrations with societal norms. The acquaintance noted that Twiggs began taking “black market HRT,” which they said made him “very erratic.”

Discord logs shared by the individual reveal conversations dating back to 2020, including Robinson discussing hunting, fishing, and off-color jokes. In December 2024, Twiggs allegedly messaged about attending a protest in St. George and referred to a Discord server as a “femboy server.” Other messages detailed Twiggs’ erratic sleeping patterns and increasing reliance on ChatGPT, with claims that he spent days awake interacting with the artificial intelligence (AI).

Two weeks before the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Robinson allegedly acted “completely normal” during a Discord call. The acquaintance eventually distanced themselves from the pair, citing the challenges of being around Twiggs’s behavior.

“FERPA” is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the remarks on the SFFA refer to the Supreme Court’s Students for Fair Admissions decision, which struck down race-based affirmative action admissions policies that disadvantage white and Asian students.

In a statement, Penn said that “a fraudulent e-mail is currently being circulated” and that its Office of Information Security’s Incident Response team is investigating the breach. The messages were reportedly sent to several alumni.

The incident mirrors other politically charged cyberattacks targeting major universities. Earlier this year, Columbia University faced a similar breach, during which a hacker claimed to have accessed decades of admissions data. The same individual later took credit for intrusions at New York University and the University of Minnesota.

Trump announced the designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) on October 31, 2025, citing severe violations of religious freedom and the persecution of Christians by radical Islamist terrorists. The announcement was made as the President arrived at Mar-a-Lago in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria,” said Trump in a post on Truth Social, continuing: “Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.” He added, “I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN’ — But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!”

The President called on Congressman Riley Moore (R-WV) and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) to investigate the matter and report back to him. Congressman Moore later expressed his gratitude on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “You have always been a champion for Christians around the world, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with you and Chairman Cole… to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being slaughtered by radical Islamists in Nigeria.”

The designation places Nigeria among other countries of particular concern, such as Burma, China, Iran, and North Korea. Nigeria was previously designated as a CPC during Trump’s first administration, but was removed from the list by former President Joe Biden, despite calls from religious freedom advocates to reinstate the label.

“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries,” Trump said. “We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!”

A federal judge in Massachusetts has determined that the Trump administration’s decision to halt Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits to 42 million Americans due to the ongoing Democrat-caused government shutdown is likely unlawful. However, the judge did not mandate the use of emergency funds to continue the benefits.

U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani—appointed by former President Barack Obama—instructed the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to report by Monday on whether it can authorize reduced SNAP benefits using disaster response funds or full benefits using emergency and additional funds.

The ruling follows a lawsuit filed by leaders of 25 Democratic-run states and the District of Columbia against the USDA, after the agency warned that funds for SNAP benefits had depleted.

Saturday marks the first time in 60 years that federal SNAP funding has lapsed. The states argue that the administration is violating the Food and Nutrition Act, which mandates assistance for all eligible households.

On October 30, Ryan Routh, the 58-year-old man pro-Ukraine activist convicted of attempting to assassinate President Donald J. Trump at a Florida golf course last year, has filed an extraordinary request to serve his sentence in a state allowing physician-assisted suicide. In a letter to U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon, Routh, a former North Carolina roofer turned Ukraine aid organizer, asked for a recommendation to transfer him to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ custody in such a jurisdiction—though any judicial suggestion would not bind the agency.

Describing himself as “a constant failure” and questioning life’s value behind bars, he wrote, “without love—what is the point.” He also proposed an international prisoner swap, urging, “Do not let me take my own life and it have zero benefit for humanity or mankind.”

Routh’s path to infamy intertwined fervent pro-Ukraine activism with deep-seated anti-Trump animus. After Russia’s 2022 invasion, the Hawaii resident founded the International Volunteer Center in Kiev, recruiting veterans, many from Afghanistan, to join Ukraine’s International Legion despite visa hurdles. He lobbied Congress for more aid and appeared in an Azov Brigade video, among other stunts. Legion insiders introduced him to journalists in 2023, praising his efforts despite language barriers. A vocal Biden-Harris supporter, Routh’s social media railed against Trump and Israel.

Months before the September 2024 attempt, Routh penned a note to an associate, admitting Democratic-inspired motives. He decried Trump for allegedly abandoning America’s “kind, caring, and selfless” ideals, blamed him for Middle East chaos via a “juvenile” Iran pullout, and offered a $150,000 bounty to “complete the job.” In the letter, found with bullets, he lamented: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I am so sorry I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster.”

Prosecutors said Routh stalked Trump’s West Palm Beach course for weeks before Secret Service agents spotted him on September 15, 2024, armed and hiding in a bush a short distance from President Trump. Agents fired shots and sent him fleeing; he never discharged his rifle, but a young girl was almost killed during his escape attempt.

Convicted in September 2024 on five counts, including attempted assassination, Routh fired his lawyers, represented himself, and, post-verdict, jabbed a pen at his neck in court in an apparent suicide attempt before being restrained.

He later called dismissing counsel “a childish mistake.” Routh faces up to life at his December 2025 sentencing. Notably, federal prisons generally avoid assisted-suicide states.
