Robert De Niro, Michael Fanone, and Harry Dunn walked up to the sticks outside the Manhattan courthouse, where President Trump sat as his defense delivered their closing arguments in the political case brought against him by Democrat Alvin Bragg and the Biden government.
De Niro, sporting a cloth mask while walking outside, described himself as “part of the Biden campaign” and was immediately met with pro-Trump protesters chanting, “F**k Joe Biden,” as well as “We love Trump!”
Clearly rattled by the reception, De Niro began reading from a script, interrupting himself as he became further enraged by the pro-Trump demonstrators.
“I’m not trying to scare you. Actually, I am trying to scare you,” De Niro prattled as he read printed Biden campaign talking points, being drowned out by a car alarm for most of his speech. As he reached the end of his remarks, trying to introduce Democrat activists who formerly served as Capitol Police, he was heckled into silence.
“They’re traitors,” an audience member remarked of the ex-cops who beat Trump supporters outside the U.S. Capitol, instigating the violence on January 6, 2021.
“I don’t even know how to deal with you,” De Niro demurred, skulking into the background and allowing Fanone and Dunn to once again peddle their false claims that former President Trump demanded violence outside the Capitol. He never did.
Truly, the botched Biden campaign stunt outside the courthouse made even Rudy Giuliani’s infamous Four Seasons landscaping presser look positively professional. A mistake over location in the hurried aftermath of the Pennsylvania election, the news media lampooned the former Mayor of New York over the matter to this very day.
It’s unlikely the Hollywood luvvie and the Capitol cops will receive the same amount of opprobrium if any at all. But their partisan politicking outside the courtroom was nothing short of a brutal, self-inflicted humiliation.
