Gaetz, Luna Say ‘Motion to Vacate’ a ‘Risk That Is Too High At This Time’ – And They’re Right.

The motion-to-vacate legend himself, Matt Gaetz (R-FL), has come out against the threats against Speaker Mike Johnson, citing the fairly obvious threat posed by one to three Republican Congressmen siding with the Democrats and electing a Democratic Speaker ahead of the 2024 Presidential election. Frankly, I’m surprised it has taken the discourse on this subject this long to get here. I have been saying it in private and to our National Pulse members in our Discord chat channels for days now.

Don’t get me, nor Gaetz, wrong. Speaker Johnson is an horrific disappointment and deserves no shrift from right-thinking citizens of this nation.

While you might argue, “Johnson’s actions on his war funding bill place him alongside globalists and Democrats anyway,” you’re not “woke” enough to the existential danger of handing the gavel and committees over to Democrats in the run up to November. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) appeared to concur in the video below, raising the further specter that centrist Republican Congressmen have told her they would immediately resign their seats, handing a functioning majority to Democrats if a motion to vacate is successful.

Now, think about this:

  • Democrats could immediately use their majority power to declare Donald Trump an insurrectionist and attempt to pass Jamie Raskin’s legislation that would disqualify the 45th President from holding office. The Supreme Court may intervene again, but would you prefer to risk that they don’t take the case, or opine that Congress is within its rights? Remember, their last ruling was not that Trump did not commit insurrection (even though he didn’t), but rather that the States had no right to keep him off the primary ballots;
  • Democrats would immediately control every committee, including Weaponization, Border, and Homeland Security. This includes dominion over the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), with all its involvement in “securing” America’s elections;
  • A gargantuan spending package that would naturally include far more than Speaker Johnson is currently suggesting. Rep. Gaetz suggested this could also include Universal Basic Income;
  • Packing the Supreme Court;
  • Unlimied subpoena power, again;
  • And, in the event that Trump beats their schemes, makes the ballot, and wins the election, Democrats (going into the election as incumbents will almost certainly reward them with House control again) will simply refuse to count the votes and seat Trump as President on January 6th, 2025. I have warned about this a number of times. All this is just week one;

Yes, the Congressional situation conservative America finds itself in absolutely blows. You can thank Kevin McCarthy, Mike Johnson, and a majority of Congressional Republicans from the country over for failing to run a House more in touch with its voter base than with Northern Virginia lobbying shops. But the reality of removing a Republican Speaker this week, whomever it may be, is far fucking worse. And that’s coming from me, a professional political bomb-thrower.

Instead, MAGA Republicans in Congress should demand that someone like Gaetz himself (or Rep. Luna) is put in charge of the Weaponization Committee amongst others, to actually achieve something with them in the few months before the election. In other words, flip the Democrat wet dream on its head.
