Say what you want about him, but Donald Trump is working his ass off in this presidential campaign, with the Trump-Vance campaign far eclipsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for public events, media interviews, podcasts, rallies, and fundraisers. A cursory glance at the schedules of each campaign team reveals Team Harris-Walz as remarkably shy, focusing far more on online activities than in-person events.
On the Friday after the Democratic National Convention, Trump rallied in Nevada and Arizona while also recording multiple interviews, including a lengthy conversation with Dr. Phil. Harris had the day off, with her staff briefing in the aftermath of the DNC that she “will keep up a cadence of travel over the next few weeks, but not at the same pace as the last couple weeks when she hit multiple battleground states, the source said, instead spending time in debate prep.”
And while a day off after the convention is not unusual, a week basically off is.
Harris and Walz made some small stops in rural Georgia this week – at a barbecue store, a market, a cafe, and a restaurant. But the scale at which Kamala took over Biden’s campaign – their union member-packed rallies and associated heckles over crowd size comparisons – has simply not endured.
Meanwhile, Trump laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery at the invitation of the family members of those who died during Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal. He also visited the Eden Center in Virginia, ordering a platter of Vietnamese food from a local staple: Truong Tien. Later the same day, he flew to Detroit to address the National Guard Association.
He interviewed with Greg Kelly, Monica Crowley, Shawn Ryan, and Joe Pags and spoke in Potterville, Michigan, and La Crosse, Wisconsin, before participating in a Fox News interview prior to a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Late on Friday, he flew back to Washington, D.C., to address the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors summit, as well as interviewing with Mark Levin.
In comparison, Kamala Harris sat for a 20+ minute interview with Dana Bash on CNN.
This doesn’t even take into account all the crisscrossing activities of Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance, who has been in Georgia, Missouri, New York, Washington, D.C., Michigan, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Florida in the past week.
Walz, on the other hand, has traveled with Harris, lending moral support during their first media outing in 40 days, before returning to Minnesota for the state fair on Sunday, where he will be met with a viral “Never Walz” stand, now in its fourth year of operation.

With just over two months before election day across the United States, it is becoming evident that Kamala is increasingly reliant on online activities than in-person events. Such a strategy reflects a lesser urgency around their voter registration and ‘get out the vote’ operations – areas in which Democrats typically have an advantage due to their long-standing, questionable ballot harvesting and mail-in strategies.
While Trump and Vance are clearly seeking to earn every vote, the Harris-Walz campaign appears far more interested in attempting to suppress moderate and independent, would-be Trump voters.
