FARNAN: Phony Putin Focus Distracted From China

Bureaucracies are bad at many things at the best of times. But they are probably the worst at making adjustments to changing conditions, as today’s House Intelligence Committee report alludes to.

America’s military and foreign intelligence capabilities remain fixated on Russia even though the Soviet Union disbanded 29-years ago and nobody thinks Vladimir Putin has designs on conquering Europe.

Why is Washington stuck on Russia like the knob on the radio in a 1970 Chrysler Cordoba remains frozen on the top-40 station that played all the groovy hits?

Because (1) that’s where the money is; and (2) it is easy.

get ‘the russia lie’ today

In my book, The Russia Lie: How the Military Industrial Complex targeted Trump, I explain how the sclerotic Washington establishment invents facile Kremlin enemies to maintain its place at the deep state trough.

The think-tankers and influencers in their $6 million McLean, Virginia mansions do not want to expend the time, energy and risk their all-important CNN brands solving an actual foreign policy problem.

Phony problems are so much easier.

The House Intelligence Committee just released a report saying that America’s foreign intelligence services have been far too slow to adjust to the China threat.

Ya think!

Why defend America against an actual enemy when sniveling bureaucrats heavily invested in the Clinton Foundation spent so much time and effort inventing a Putin-is-a-thug bogeyman?

The focus on Russia is Orwellian: “Oceania was at war with Eastasia: Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”

Substitute United States and Russia and that pretty much sums it up.

The Cold War can never be allowed to end because European military bases, foreign offices, and the next promotions in the diplomatic corps, depend on it.

If you are not sucked in by the The Russia Lie you understand the truth: China and its enablers in Washington want American attention occupied with Russia, while China slips in the back door and steals our wealth.

Why don’t LeBron and Nike make their basketball shoes in a factory on the banks of the Ohio River and instead use slave labor in Laixi, China?

Because China is heavily invested in Western institutions and holds sway.  The Chinese truly influence elections, not Putin.

If a deadly virus emanated from Russia and Putin kept important details hidden in the crucial initial stages, he would be facing UN sanctions now.

China, though, is excused because it uses the money we hand them to buy power at places like the World Health Organization.

Americans do not want war with China.  They do want “America First” prerogatives asserted in trade and foreign policy.

It is clear that Washington lacks the will and critical capacity to bother holding China’s feet to the fire.

Not President Trump, though.  Which is why the deep state is in an unholy alliance with Chris Wallace and FOX News to get rid of him.

The Russia Lie, a political operation now in its 60th month regurgitated again by James Comey in testimony this week, was their first attempt to get Trump.

The always-pompous Comey seemed unconcerned that the Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, declassified a document the day before supporting what internet sleuths have known since 2016: that the Russian hack was a Clinton campaign false-flag dirty trick.

Comey is not worried because nobody ever gets prosecuted for The Russia Lie.

Washington insiders and European governments have a pecuniary interest in keeping Americans beguiled by Putin.

For going on four years, they have been incensed that the Trump voters are not buying into the hysteria. “Putin and Trump must be controlling their minds on Facebook” has been their lazy, stupid explanation.

Fundamentally, the idea that Putin got Trump elected was just another way to call middle class Americans deplorable.

Ordinary Americans are fed up.

The only way to achieve economic victory is to put aside the Kremlin fantasies and turn our attention to our true geopolitical rival, China.

The next wave of foreign policy dealing with China has to be thoughtful, creative, and all of the things the Western military industrial complex stopped being sometime around 1957.

America needs to complete the Trump revolution and continue to implement smart trade and diplomacy around the world.

The first order of business is to elect Trump.

A not-too-distant second is read my book.  Just click on the link. It’s only $5 and it explains everything. It is high time to know the truth.
