The Associated Press attributed France’s recent terror attacks to its “colonial past, staunch secular policies and tough-talking president.”

In the article – “AP Explains: Why France incites such anger in Muslim world” – the news outlet fails to place any blame on radical Islam for causing the country’s recent terrorist attack.

The piece opens with:

Its brutal colonial past, staunch secular policies and tough-talking president who is seen as insensitive toward the Muslim faith all play a role.”

It continues, highlighting how four phenomena have caused an uptick in terrorist attacks: “history, military footprint, strict secularism, outspoken president.”
