Top Biden Advisers To Meet With Chinese Communist Party Before President Holds Press Conference.

President Biden’s Secretary of State and National Security Adviser will meet with their Chinese Communist Party counterparts in-person in Alaska according to reports.

“Washington and Beijing are hammering out the details of the first high-level meeting between the rival powers since President Joe Biden took office, according to four people familiar with the talks. The negotiations could lead to Antony Blinken, secretary of state, and Jake Sullivan, national security adviser, meeting their Chinese counterparts,” the Financial Times reported.

On the Chinese Communist Party Side, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the top foreign policy official Yang Jiechi would likely be involved.

If Sullivan and Blinken meet Yang and Wang, it would be the first time a U.S. National Security Adviser and Secretary of State met jointly with Chinese Communist Party officials.

The report comes as President Biden has refused to schedule a public press conference well over a month into his presidency.
