The French government is planning to allow a council of 35 randomly selected citizens to assist in formulating its COVID-19 vaccination program.
According to Bloomberg News, President Emmanuel Macron is set to cede decision making abilities regarding its COVID-19 vaccine efforts to a council of randomly selected citizens:
Further blurring its vaccine strategy, the government plans to select at random 35 citizens to form an ad-hoc committee charged with assessing the inoculation program as it unfolds. The plan has been derided as a gimmick by Macron’s political opponents and widely mocked on social networks.
The controversial plan adds to a long list of French government failures regarding the pandemic.
