Eliminating the filibuster would lower the threshold for passing such legislation from 60 votes to 50 in the Senate. This change would require Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, to serve as the tie-breaking vote if the Democrats maintain their current 51 Senate seats. As a Congressman and Governor of Minnesota, Walz has voted against legislation protecting babies who survive abortions, and signed legislation eliminating state-level reporting on such survivals.
Harris argues that removing the filibuster is necessary to restore “protections for reproductive freedom.” Independent Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, who recently switched from the Democratic Party, warns that, without the filibuster, the Senate could become akin to the House but “on steroids.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has hinted at ending the filibuster to advance abortion legislation should the Democrats achieve a “trifecta” by winning the presidency and both houses of Congress in the upcoming election.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson demanded that Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky fire the Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States after Zelensky toured a factory in the swing state of Pennsylvania and criticized President Donald J. Trump.
Oksana Markarova, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, helped plan Zelensky’s visit this week. During his visit, he was flown on a U.S. Air Force C-17 to the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
Zelensky seemed to be campaigning for Harris as he slammed both President Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH), in the media.
“The idea that the world should end this war at Ukraine’s expense is unacceptable. But I do not consider this concept of his a plan, in any formal sense,” Zelensky said of Trump’s plan to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Speaker Johnson wrote bluntly to Zelensky following the visit, saying, “I demand that you immediately fire Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova,” and called the visit clear “election interference.”
Zelensky toured an armaments factory in Pennsylvania during this visit. Speaker Johnson added in his letter, “The facility was in a politically contested battleground state, was led by a top political surrogate for Kamala Harris, and failed to include a single Republican because – on purpose – no Republicans were invited.”
“Support for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to be bipartisan, but our relationship is unnecessarily tested and needlessly tarnished when the candidates at the top of the Republican presidential ticket are targeted in the media by officials in your government,” he added.
President Trump, meanwhile, has stated that he would bring an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine prior to his oath of office if elected in November.

The decision to forgo a live interview drew widespread criticism and allegations that Harris is dodging serious scrutiny, particularly as Ruhle has previously endorsed her and defended her decision to avoid the media.
“This is legitimately pathetic for a person who wants to be president,” said former President Donald J. Trump‘s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance. “Ruhle has explicitly endorsed Harris. She won’t ask hard [questions],” he added.
Ruhle recently appeared on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher alongsideNew York Times columnist Bret Stephens. “I don’t think it’s a lot to ask her to sit down for a real interview,” Stephens argued. Ruhle, however, scoffed, “I would just say to that, when you move to Nirvana, give me your real estate broker’s number and I’ll be your next door neighbor.”
“Kamala Harris isn’t running for perfect. She’s running against Trump. We have two choices,” she said, denouncing Trump as a “threat to democracy.”

Despite explicitly banning political advertisements on their platform since 2019, the Chinese-owned media giant TikTok still shows alleged paid political ads, including several linked to Democrat activist groups. Recent findings indicate that this prohibition has not entirely prevented the circulation of paid political messages.
At least 52 videos labeled with “Paid Partnership,” #ad, or #sponsored, some receiving significant views, have appeared to contravene TikTok’s policy. Some videos appear to be sponsored by the Democratic activist groups ActBlue, TogetherSF Action, and NextGen America. These videos promote issues like climate change and voter registration.
TikTok has reiterated its stance against political ads, stating that it disallows political content through all monetization channels, including paid advertisements, branded political content, and other promotional avenues. TikTok claims it adheres to a stringent no-political-ads policy, unlike other tech giants such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and Google.
Owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), TikTok faces additional scrutiny over national security concerns. U.S. lawmakers have been particularly vigilant due to worries about potential foreign influence via the platform, which is currently contesting a possible ban in court unless sold to a U.S.-approved entity.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) noted the absence of specific regulations regarding social media influencer activities.
According to the Pew Research Center, TikTok has become a key news source for young American adults. The Center notes that 39 percent of adults aged 18 to 29 use the platform for news. Oregon’s Democrat Secretary of State, LaVonne Griffin-Valade, is dismissing concerns about noncitizenvoters in her state despite evidence showing over 1,200 noncitizens were erroneously registered to vote. According to Sec. Griffin-Valade, instances of noncitizen voting are “exceedingly rare.” She also defended the state’s so-called “motor-voter” system—an automatic voter registration program—despite recent revelations that noncitizens were listed as eligible voters due to a data entry error.
The National Pulse reported last week that 300 noncitizens had initially been identified on Oregon’s state voter rolls. However, the number has risen to 1,259 upon further investigation by state officials. After the initial discovery, Sec. Griffin-Valade insisted that the registered noncitizens “will be notified by mail that they will not receive a ballot unless they demonstrate that they are eligible to vote.”
However, as nine of the noncitizen voters in Oregon have already cast ballots in the election, Griffin-Valade’s office deactivated all 1,259 registrations pending additional review. This means other than the nine who have cast ballots, these individuals will not receive mail-in ballots for the upcoming 2024 election but will have the opportunity to re-register if they provide proper documentation proving their eligibility.
Griffin-Valade attributed the erroneous registrations to manual errors at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), where staff mistakenly recorded foreign identification as U.S. identification, triggering the automatic voter registration system. The DMV has implemented a verification prompt on data entry screens and daily audits of all transactions before finalizing registrations in hopes this will prevent future errors.
Federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but academic research indicates poor vetting results in many doing so regardless, swaying election outcomes.

State-level election data produced by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union suggests a significant working-class backlash against the 2024 Democratic Party’s presidential ticket after Joe Biden was forced to drop his re-election bid in July.
The Teamsters’ surveys show a decisive shift among their union members from supporting Biden to supporting former President Donald J. Trump after the 81-year-old Democrat incumbent was replaced by his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the party’s nominee. The Teamsters have declined to endorse either Harris or Trump.
Among eight battleground states, the Teamsters data suggests major double-digit swings among their membership in support of Trump. The swing from Biden to Trump in Wisconsin is a near-75 points. Biden led among Teamsters in the state with 73.5 percent to Trump’s 15.3. However, after Kamala Harris replaced the octogenarian Democrat, the vote drastically shifted. Trump now leads the current Democratic Party nominee with 57 percent to Harris’ 40.5 percent.
Among the eight states polled, Wisconsin saw the most significant swing in favor of Trump. However, the other battleground states show substantial movement among the union’s voters toward the Republican nominee as well. There has been a 43-point swing in Arizona, with Trump now leading at 57.3 percent to Harris’ 38.7 percent. Michigan has seen a 53-point swing, where Trump leads among Teamsters with 61.7 percent to Harris’ 35.2.
Meanwhile, states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, Nevada, and Minnesota all see between a 29-point and 44-point swing to Trump. In North Carolina, the former president leads Harris with 69.1 percent of Teamsters to the latter’s 29.2 percent.
The union member survey data implies Harris may suffer a similar weakness in support among working-class voters as Hillary Clinton, which largely contributed to the latter’s historic defeat in the 2016 election.

The Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, is facing increasing scrutiny over her record as a prosecutor, with legal critics raising questions as to whether Harris ever actually personally prosecuted a case in its entirety.
Former Acting U.S. Attorney General Jeff Clark first raised the question several weeks ago, asking social media users if anyone could find “a transcript of a case that Kamala Harris has prosecuted.” After it appeared no one would take him up on the challenge, Clark posited in a post on X (formerly Twitter): “I’m starting to get doubtful that she EVER prosecuted a case through to trial.”
Harris’s presidential campaign has repeatedly tried framing the Democrat as a tough-on-crime prosecutor.
The question of Harris’ actual prosecutorial experience follows revelations that the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee frequently missed California Medical Assistance Commission (CMAC) meetings during her stint as an appointee on the state government board. Harris, named to the commission by her then-boyfriend Willie Brown—the powerful California Assembly Speaker—missed around 20 percent of the organization’s meetings.
Most instances of Harris’ courtroom experience pointed to by the corporate media are cases in which the California Democrat almost certainly never actually set foot in court. Clark notes that an NPR story from August, which details nine cases from Harris’s past, are all instances in which her role as district attorney or California Attorney General meant she was absent from the day-to-day work.
While Harris’s resume suggests she may have seen some trial time while working on the Alameda District Attorney’s sex offense team, there appear to be few other instances where she would have set foot in a courtroom—let alone prosecuted a case from start to finish.

Reports claim former President Donald J. Trump is no longer planning to visit Springfield, Ohio, despite having pledged to do so at a rally last week, after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) told local media a visit would “put a strain on the community.” Republican-in-name-only (RINO) state and local officials have been running covering for Haitian migrants in the city, denying reports by residents—repeated by Trump—that they have been harming animals and generally lowering the small city’s standard of living.
According to Newsweek, “two sources familiar with the matter have said Trump is not expected to visit the city in the near future.” At a rally in Long Island on September 18, the former president had announced his intention to visit Springfield within two weeks.
Governor DeWine previously said that Trump’s criticism of the influx of a reported 20,000 Haitians into Springfield was “very hurtful for these men and women who work very, very hard.” He also pressured state lawmakers to bend election rules to ensure that Biden would make the state’s ballots despite failing to follow the relevant laws.
Trump’s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), has also been critical of the situation in Springfield and reports his office has received reports of Haitians harming animals. Additionally, Vance has criticized the corporate media for taking official denials of such abuse at face value, asking at an Indiana rally recently, “Did you ever think about listening to people speak their truth instead of listening to some bureaucrat and assuming that everything they tell you is true?”

Haitians are arriving not only in Springfield, Ohio, where an influx of some 20,000 has caused considerable issues in the city but also in various small rural towns across the United States. For instance, Sylacauga, Alabama, saw a city meeting shut down by the City Council President, Tiffany Nix, earlier this month after several members of the public complained of busloads of Haitians arriving in the city, supposedly to work, and “sitting around outside… not working.”
“What’s wrong with that? I don’t see what the issue is,” Nix responded. “I want to welcome anyone that wants to come,” she said, implying residents are racist by saying, “We have no reason to… treat people differently because of how they look” and insisting, “There’s no reason for us to discuss this any further.”
In Charleroi, Pennsylvania, the migrant population is reportedly up 2,000 percent, driven in large part by a surge in Haitian immigration. Like Springfield, the Pennsylvania town has been referenced by former President Donald J. Trump, who notes that the demographic changes are resulting in “schools scrambling to hire translators for the influx of students who don’t speak English, costing local taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
A Sylacauga City Council meeting was abruptly cut short after only 20 minutes Thursday following questions from several residents about recent Haitian immigration to the area.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), over 485,000 Haitian illegalborder crossers have been recorded since fiscal year 2021. Most of these crossings occurred this fiscal year, with nearly 216,000 Haitians reported.
From fiscal 2021 through August, nearly 262,000 of these Haitians were apprehended at the southwest border. Additionally, nearly 221,000 were apprehended across the wider country and close to 2,300 at the northern border.
Since July, 205,000 Haitians have been released through the Biden-Harris government’s Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV) parole program. Haitians also constitute the top nationality among the over 765,000 illegal foreign nationals released into the country via the CBP One app.
State attorneys general have filed lawsuits arguing that these programs are illegal. They are acknowledged to be rife with fraud, with the Biden-Harris government briefly pausing migrant flights. Multiple migrants imported by them have turned out to be dangerous, including multiple Haitian pedophiles.
Under current U.S. law, most Haitians being released into the country are technically inadmissible. Still, the Biden-Harris government has them issued with “notice to appear” documents for future immigration court hearings.

Democratic senators fear polls are underestimating former President Donald J. Trump’s level of support. RealClearPolitics gave Vice President Kamala Harris a lead of 2.2 points nationally as of Monday, September 23—a narrower margin than Joe Biden’s seven-point lead and Hillary Clinton’s three-point lead over Trump at similar times in the 2020 and 2016 election campaigns. On election night, Biden’s lead over Trump nationally was significantly lower, at four points. Clinton‘s was also lower, at 2.1 points—and she lost the Electoral College.
One Democratic senator, speaking anonymously, called the numbers “ominous,” adding: “There’s no question that [they are] concerning… My sense is there’s not a lot more you can do than we’re already doing.”
Another anonymous senator lamented, “I don’t think any poll right now means much of anything,” complaining that voters are looking back on the Trump economy as “being so good” compared to the Biden-Harris economy.
Democratic pollster Celinda Lake told the media, “I, too, share the concern that there are going to be some surprises” on election day.
“What accentuates my concern is when you poll people who have not voted in ’20 but are planning to vote today, they are disproportionately Trump voters,” she added.
A poll earlier this month also shows Trump gaining major ground among independents and Latino voters, leading over Harris in both groups.
