Calls for Walz’s Resignation Intensify Amid Somali Fraud Scandal.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Minnesota Governor and failed 2024 vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D) is facing calls to resign amid allegations of widespread fraud in federal programs managed by the state.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Walz, Republican lawmakers, Somali community members, and federal prosecutors.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Ongoing investigations in Minnesota, with significant developments reported in November and December 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Tim Walz is 100 percent responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota.” – Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

🎯IMPACT: The scandal could derail Walz’s 2026 reelection campaign, and has heightened political tensions in Minnesota.

IN FULL

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) is facing mounting calls to resign amid revelations of widespread fraud in state-administered federal programs. Federal authorities have alleged that fraud schemes targeting these programs could involve billions in losses for the American taxpayer, with many cases reportedly involving members of the Somali community.

The scandal has prompted criticism from both parties. On December 19, five Republican members of the Minnesota House and Senate released a joint statement calling for Walz to resign, declaring, “For the good of the state, Gov. Walz should step aside.”

U.S. Representative Tom Emmer, a Minnesota Republican and House Majority Whip, told the media: “He should resign. He’s a total embarrassment.” Emmer stressed that concerns about these problems had been flagged for years.

Fraud cases have resulted in more than 60 convictions of Somali-background criminals, with Minnesota’s acting U.S. attorney having suggested that more than $9 billion in federal funds could have been misused since 2018. Notably, whistleblowers have said they flagged issues with the Walz administration years ago, but no action was taken, and they were threatened with retaliation.

Reports indicate that Somalis account for 89 percent of those charged across these fraud investigations. Nevertheless, Walz has stood by his administration’s efforts, even claiming that he has “worked for years to crack down on fraud.” Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee posted on X, “It’s absurd for [Tim Walz] to dismiss the corruption that happened right under his nose. He should resign. Minnesotans deserve better.”

The issue has emerged as a key topic in Minnesota politics, potentially affecting Walz’s prospects for reelection in 2026. So far, he appears intent on appeasing the Somali community, even suggesting that ongoing probes into their activities by citizen journalists have white supremacist motivations.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel previously confirmed that federal assets have been deployed to Minnesota to tackle the fraud scandal.

U.S. Military Sinks Another Cartel Boat Amid Escalating Venezuela Operations.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. military conducted a strike on a suspected drug-trafficking vessel in the eastern Pacific, killing two.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Southern Command, Pentagon officials, and narco-traffickers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Monday in the eastern Pacific, along known drug-trafficking routes.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations.” – U.S. Southern Command

🎯IMPACT: This marks the 30th strike since September, with the total number of casualties now estimated at 107.

IN FULL

The U.S. military carried out another strike against a drug-trafficking vessel on December 29 in the Pacific Ocean, killing two people aboard, according to U.S. Southern Command. “Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” U.S. Southern Command said on X.

The strike was conducted by a military aircraft and was partially documented in a black-and-white video released by the Department of War. The footage shows the vessel being targeted and then erupting in an explosion.

The operation is part of a broader U.S. campaign launched in September targeting drug-trafficking boats in the Caribbean and Pacific. The Trump administration says 30 strikes have been carried out so far, resulting in a reported 107 deaths.

President Donald J. Trump recently revealed that U.S. operations have expanded beyond maritime targets. In a recent interview, he referred to a strike on a land-based drug facility in Venezuela, describing an explosion at a dock area used to load narcotics.

Tensions between Washington and Caracas have continued to escalate alongside the anti-narcotics campaign. In recent weeks, U.S. authorities have seized multiple Venezuelan oil tankers sanctioned under U.S. law, with the administration describing the actions as part of a full blockade on illicit oil shipments. Reports have also indicated that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been authorized to conduct covert operations inside Venezuela as part of broader pressure on the Venezuelan government.

Venezuela has condemned the strikes and tanker seizures, accusing the United States of using counter-narcotics efforts as a cover for a regime change operation.

Bondi Confirms 85 Somalis Charged, 60 Convicted in Minnesota Fraud Scandal.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against 85 Somali nationals in an ongoing fraud investigation in Tim Walz’s Minnesota.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Pam Bondi, citizen journalist Nick Shirley, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), and various fraudsters in Minnesota, including Somali nationals.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced on Monday in Minnesota; fraud investigations relate to federal aid programs.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We have more prosecutions coming… BUCKLE UP, LAWMAKERS!” – Pam Bondi.

🎯IMPACT: The investigation highlights large-scale fraud in Minnesota, prompting federal action and scrutiny of state programs under Walz.

IN FULL

Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced that 85 people of Somali descent are among those charged in a continuing fraud probe in Minnesota. She noted that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been examining the Democrat-run state for months, with “more prosecutions” anticipated.

In an X post, Bondi praised citizen journalist Nick Shirley for revealing the magnitude of the fraud in Minnesota during Democrat Governor Tim Walz’s tenure. “[Nick Shirley]’s work has helped show Americans the scale of fraud in Tim Walz’s Minnesota,” Bondi wrote. “So far, we have charged 98 individuals—85 of Somali descent—and more than 60 have been found guilty in court.”

Shirley recently shared a video featuring multiple daycare centers in Minnesota that reportedly received millions in federal funding, yet appeared to have no children present. One example was the “Quality Learing [sic] Center” in South Minneapolis, whose misspelled sign has become emblematic of the scandal.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel confirmed an active investigation, pointing out that the bureau had already boosted staffing and resources in Minnesota before the issue gained widespread attention on social media. Patel stressed the FBI’s focus on breaking up major fraud operations that target federal programs.

Hundreds of Public Workers in Dem State Caught in Pandemic Fraud Scheme.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Nearly 400 Illinois state employees improperly obtained federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans intended for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Illinois state employees across key agencies, including Human Services, Corrections, and Children and Family Services, as well as Cook County and Chicago city employees.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Fraud cases reviewed through June 2025, primarily in Illinois, with broader implications nationwide.

🎯IMPACT: Over $2.8 million in fraudulent loans obtained by state workers, contributing to Illinois’ reputation as one of the most corruption-prone states in the U.S.

IN FULL

Nearly 400 Illinois state employees allegedly attained federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans through fraudulent means, according to a state government watchdog. The Illinois Office of the Executive Inspector General reported “reasonable cause” in 378 PPP fraud cases involving state workers through June 2025, with the loans designed to assist small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The alleged fraud cases involving state workers account for approximately three-quarters of those reviewed by the Illinois Office of the Executive Inspector General. In response to the findings, over 200 state government employees have either been fired or forced to resign, with a number being referred for criminal prosecution.

According to the report, state workers at major agencies, including Human Services, Corrections, and Children and Family Services, collectively received more than $2.8 million in fraudulent loans, often by submitting fabricated business or income claims. Notably, the Illinois Attorney General’s office has secured guilty pleas in multiple cases, typically resulting in probation, restitution, or community service.

Among the fraud schemes exposed was one in which a Human Services employee fraudulently obtained $49,000 for a nonexistent catering business. In another case, an Illinois state worker claimed she misunderstood the loan as debt consolidation, while another admitted to paying someone to create a fake business application for her.

Additionally, Cook County, Illinois watchdogs have found PPP-fraud cases extending beyond state government workers to county officials as well. An estimated 65 PPP-related cases have resulted in resignations and firings. Meanwhile, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office reports that it has reviewed 163 cases, with 62 violations confirmed to have been committed by employees. The city inspector general for Chicago has uncovered upwards of 1,000 potentially fraudulent loans granted to city staff, with nine cases initiated so far.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and federal inspectors general have recovered over $1.4 billion in stolen pandemic relief funds, resulting in the prosecutions of thousands of suspects. However, it is estimated that tens of billions of taxpayer dollars are yet to be recovered.

J6 Pipe Bomb Suspect Says He Was Inspired by Pipe Bombs Used by Irish Republican Terrorists.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Brian Cole Jr., a Virginia man, was arrested and charged with placing pipe bombs outside the Republican and Democratic National Committees on January 5, 2021.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Brian Cole, federal investigators, and prosecutors.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The pipe bombs were placed on January 5, 2021, outside the RNC and DNC headquarters in Washington, D.C. Cole was arrested on December 4, 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “I really don’t like either party at this point,” Cole reportedly told investigators, explaining his actions.

🎯IMPACT: The devices did not detonate, and no one was harmed. Prosecutors argue the incident demonstrates the dangerous nature of Cole’s alleged actions and are asking that he remain detained before trial.

IN FULL

Brian Cole Jr., the Virginia man charged with placing pipe bombs outside the Republican and Democratic National Committees on January 5, 2021, has told federal investigators that he was not intending to target the joint session of Congress certifying the 2020 presidential election. Instead, Cole—who was arrested on December 4, 2025—said, according to court filings, that his decision to place pipe bombs outside the RNC and DNC was primarily inspired by Irish Republican Army (IRA) attacks during the Troubles period in Northern Ireland.

“When asked why he placed the devices at the RNC and DNC, the defendant responded, ‘I really don’t like either party at this point,'” the court filing by federal prosecutors states, adding: “[Cole] also explained that the idea to use pipe bombs came from his interest in history, specifically the Troubles in Ireland. The defendant denied that his actions were directed toward Congress or related to the proceedings scheduled to take place on January 6.”

“According to the defendant, he was not really thinking about how people would react when the bombs detonated, although he hoped there would be news about it,” prosecutors stated in their filing, noting: “The defendant stated that he had not tested the devices before planting them. He claimed that when he learned that the devices did not detonate, he was ‘pretty relieved,’ and asserted that he placed the devices at night because he did not want to kill people.”

The documents state that Cole Jr. had intended for the pipe bombs to explode after 60 minutes, with timers on each set for that duration. After placing the devices, he told prosecutors that he drove to Virginia, picked up a carry-out meal, and then returned to his parents’ home in Woodbridge.

Prosecutors, in revealing Cole’s confession, are asking a federal judge to order the pipe bomber to remain detained in federal custody ahead of his trial. They contend his choice of the RNC and DNC “demonstrates the extreme and deeply dangerous nature of his conduct,” and that “the defendant did so because he did not ‘like either party,’ but ‘they were in charge’ and thus were, in the defendant’s mind, an appropriate target for extreme acts of violence.”

FBI Now Investigating Somali-Linked Minnesota Daycare Centers.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says it is in the midst of an ongoing investigation into fraud in Minneapolis childcare businesses after a daycare center allegedly stole millions in taxpayer funds.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: FBI Director Kash Patel, independent journalist Nick Shirley, Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Lisa Demuth (R), and others.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Ongoing investigation in Minnesota, with recent updates posted on social media in late December 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “This is just the tip of a very large iceberg. We will continue to follow the money and protect children.” – Kash Patel

🎯IMPACT: Several investigations into social services fraud in the state have so far exposed the widespread theft of taxpayer dollars, with 78 indictments and 57 convictions tied to a separate $250 million scheme involving the Feeding Our Future nonprofit group.

IN FULL

Over the Christmas holiday, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel announced that the bureau is intensifying its efforts to combat Somali immigrant community-linked fraud in Minnesota following allegations that a daycare center misappropriated $4 million in taxpayer funds. Notably, the specific allegations pertain to just one of a number of Minneapolis childcare facilities that are allegedly involved in schemes defrauding taxpayers and the state and federal governments.

According to Patel, the FBI has been aware of the fraud situation for some time and has already deployed additional personnel and investigative resources to the state. In recent weeks, independent journalist Nick Shirley brought attention to the issue by posting a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing the daycare, which appeared empty, yet reportedly received millions in government funding.

The video quickly went viral, amassing over 65 million views. Shirley said that the daycare, the “Quality Learing [sic] Center,” had misspelled signage and lacked visible activity, raising questions about how it received such large sums of money.

Meanwhile, Patel noted that the FBI’s investigation has already helped dismantle a $250 million fraud network connected to the Feeding Our Future program, which involved fake vendors, shell companies, and money laundering schemes. He emphasized that the bureau remains committed to protecting children and pursuing those who exploit federal programs, stating, “Fraud that steals from taxpayers and robs vulnerable children will remain a top FBI priority.”

The broader fraud investigation involving individuals connected to Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community has already resulted in dozens of indictments and convictions. Patel noted that some individuals involved attempted to bribe jurors and are now facing significant prison sentences and restitution orders. He also mentioned that immigration authorities are reviewing cases for possible denaturalization and deportation proceedings.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Russell Brand, the Metropolitan Police, and six women who have come forward with allegations.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The alleged incidents occurred between 1999 and 2005, with charges announced Tuesday in London. Brand is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2026.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “I pray, Lord, for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed.” – Russell Brand

🎯IMPACT: A total of six women have now come forward with allegations against Brand, and the investigation remains ongoing.

IN FULL

Russell Brand, the British actor and comedian turned political pundit, is facing new charges of rape and sexual assault after two additional women have come forward with accusations against him. According to the Metropolitan Police in London, England, the new charges—one count each of rape and sexual assault—are in addition to charges filed in April.

Brand, 50, posted on X (formerly Twitter) earlier on Tuesday, “I pray Lord, anyone that I’ve harmed or hurt in my years of mindlessness and sin would be healed, Lord. And I pray, Lord, for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed.”

British police first launched an inquiry into Brand in September 2023 after media reports revealed allegations of sexual assault and rape against four women. The alleged incidents span from 1999 to 2005, with Brand being charged in two of the incidents earlier this year on two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault.

In May, Brand pleaded not guilty. He asserted in a video posted to social media at the time that he had “never engaged in nonconsensual activity.” In court filings from the initial prosecution, Brand is alleged to have grabbed a woman by the arm in 2001 and subsequently attempted to drag her into a toilet stall. Meanwhile, in a 2004 incident, Brand is accused of sexually assaulting a woman by touching her breasts without consent. The new charges bring the total number of women making allegations against Brand to six.

Brand is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2026.

Comer Summons Minnesota Officials to Testify in Somali Fraud Investigation.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The House Oversight Committee has expanded its investigation into allegations of widespread fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs, which prosecutors claim could amount to billions of dollars.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D), federal prosecutors, and several current and former Minnesota state officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Letters were sent on December 22 requesting interviews with officials. Investigations are ongoing in Minnesota.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Whistleblowers have made it clear that American taxpayers were defrauded in Minnesota, raising serious questions about whether Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison failed to act or were complicit in the theft.” – James Comer.

🎯IMPACT: Federal prosecutors have charged individuals with stealing over $240 million, and the investigation has widened to multiple state-run programs, potentially implicating senior officials.

IN FULL

The House Oversight Committee has expanded its investigation into alleged fraud within Minnesota’s social services programs, issuing requests for interviews with current and former state officials and seeking cooperation from federal agencies. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent letters to seven Minnesota officials asking them to participate in transcribed interviews scheduled for late January and early February 2026. The committee also contacted Attorney General Pam Bondi and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to request federal assistance with the inquiry.

One of the letters was addressed to Emily Honer, director of Nutrition Program Services at the Minnesota Department of Education. It stated, “The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is investigating reports of widespread fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs. As the Director of Nutrition Program Services and in your previous roles… you have information that will assist the Committee’s investigation.” Honer was asked to appear for an interview on January 26, 2026.

The investigation follows federal prosecutions tied to the Minnesota-based, Somali-run nonprofit Feeding Our Future, where prosecutors allege more than $240 million was stolen from the Federal Child Nutrition Program during the COVID-19 pandemic. Authorities say defendants submitted false meal claims and diverted taxpayer funds to luxury purchases and overseas investments, including real estate in Nairobi, Kenya, and possible transfers to Somalia. Some funds may have passed through regions where the jihadist group Al-Shabaab operates.

As the probe widened, investigators began examining other Minnesota programs, including Medicaid, which has paid out roughly $18 billion since 2018. Federal officials and investigators estimate that a significant portion of those funds may have been obtained fraudulently. Recent court filings and reporting suggest that total losses tied to Minnesota social services fraud, much of it linked to Somali-run networks, could approach $9 billion.

Several Somali background suspects have pleaded guilty in recent months. In one case, a woman admitted to stealing millions through Medicaid and food assistance fraud. Prosecutors have described the schemes as interconnected, with some defendants involved in multiple programs simultaneously.

The scale of the fraud has raised questions about oversight by state leadership, including whether Governor Tim Walz (D) and Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) were aware of the problems earlier. Whistleblowers allege that Walz’s administration quashed early attempts to expose the scandal and threatened them with retaliation.

Walz has admitted responsibility for the situation, stating, “This is on my watch. I am accountable for this. And more importantly, I am the one that will fix it.”

Illegal Rams ICE Agents in Walz’s Minnesota, Officer Bitten, Shots Fired.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents opened fire after an SUV driven by an illegal alien rammed into them.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Juan Carlos Rodrigues Romero, ICE agents, and officers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: December 21, 2025, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Romero was noncompliant and refused to roll down his window, causing officers to warn that they would have to break the window if he continued to not comply with lawful orders.” – Department of Homeland Security

🎯IMPACT: Two officers and Romero sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers engaged in a tense and physical altercation with Juan Carlos Rodrigues Romero, a Cuban illegal immigrant, as they attempted to take him into custody on Sunday. The encounter in St. Paul, Minnesota, started when agents spotted Romero entering a white SUV. Officers initiated a lawful traffic stop, but Romero declined to lower his window. Agents informed him that they would break the glass if he did not follow instructions. Romero then accelerated away, hitting one officer during his escape attempt.

A short pursuit followed, during which Romero entered a parking lot and deliberately collided with an ICE vehicle, injuring a second officer. The struck officer discharged two shots in self-defense, though no one was struck by the gunfire. Romero proceeded to drive toward his apartment building, where he again rammed an ICE vehicle. He then left the SUV and tried to reach his residence on foot. Pursuing officers caught up to him and took him into custody after he resisted forcefully, including biting one agent.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has stated that “Romero was admitted into the United States in 2024 by the Biden Administration through the CBP One app, which released over a million completely unvetted illegal aliens into the interior of the United States.” Under President Donald J. Trump, CBP One has been repurposed as CBP Home, which facilitates migrants willing to self-deport in exchange for $,1000 and free airfare. This has been increased to $3,000 over the Christmas period.

Trump Admin Arrests Nearly 300 Sexual Predators, Rescues 205 Children in Two-Week Operation.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that its Operation Relentless Justice has led to the rescue of 205 child abuse victims and the arrest of more than 293 child sex abuse offenders.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The operation involved all 56 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) field offices, the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), and U.S. Attorneys’ offices nationwide.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The crackdown was executed over two weeks across the United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We will not allow evil criminals who prey on children to evade justice.” – Attorney General Pamela Bondi

🎯IMPACT: The operation underscores a continued commitment to protecting children and holding predators accountable, with significant arrests and rescues.

IN FULL

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced the results of its Operation Relentless Justice, which saw all 56 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) field offices and U.S. Attorneys across the nation work “to identify, track, and arrest child sex predators.” According to the DOJ, the operation succeeded in discovering and rescuing 205 child victims, while resulting in the arrest of more than 293 child sex abuse offenders.

Over a two-week period, federal law enforcement, led by the FBI and the DOJ Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), carried out investigations and raids across the country. “We will not allow evil criminals who prey on children to evade justice,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said of the operation, adding: “Our federal agents have worked tirelessly alongside our state and local partners to track down these vile predators, and now our prosecutors will ensure they receive severe punishments to match their horrific crimes.”

The federal-led operation saw close coordination between the Trump administration and state and local law enforcement. Disturbingly, the DOJ noted that among the offenses committed by those arrested were “the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material; online enticement and transportation of minors; and child sex trafficking.”

An airman in the United States Air Force and his wife were arrested in Dallas, Texas, for the alleged production of child sex abuse material (CSAM). Meanwhile, a police officer in Raleigh, North Carolina, was placed under custody after they attempted to distribute CSAM to an undercover federal agent with whom they also discussed their interest in sexually molesting children. An illegal immigrant from Guatemala—previously deported in 2011—was also among the arrestees, and has a long and violent criminal history.

“Operation Relentless Justice shows no child will be forgotten and that all predators targeting the most vulnerable amongst us will be held accountable,” FBI Director Kash Patel stated.
