Anti-ICE LA Man Arrested for Hurling Molotov Cocktail at Federal Building.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal authorities released images of a man accused of throwing Molotov cocktails into a federal building in Los Angeles, California.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The suspect was identified as 54-year-old Jose Francisco Jovel, a Los Angeles resident.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The attack occurred Monday morning at a federal building in downtown Los Angeles.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This case exemplifies how misleading and hateful rhetoric against federal law enforcement can and does result in violence. Irresponsible rhetoric by politicians and activists have real-world consequences. It must stop.” – First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli

🎯IMPACT: If convicted, Jovel faces a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison.

IN FULL

Federal authorities have identified 54-year-old Jose Francisco Jovel as the man accused of attempting to firebomb a federal building in downtown Los Angeles, California, on Monday. Prosecutors say he is scheduled to appear in federal court the afternoon of December 3 on a charge of attempted malicious damage of federal property.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, Jovel admitted that he acted out of anger toward the federal government’s immigration policies and described the incident to investigators as “a terrorist attack.” He allegedly told officers, “You’re separating families,” and urged others to “start shooting these,” referring to law-enforcement personnel. Authorities released images showing Jovel on the steps of the building and the Molotov-style devices he is accused of trying to ignite, none of which detonated.

Investigators say that before heading to the federal complex, which houses agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Jovel intentionally set fire to his rented apartment using an accelerant. He then allegedly threw incendiary bottles at two entry points of the federal building, an employee entrance and a public access door. The devices never fully ignited, and no injuries were reported.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli condemned the attack, stating, “This case exemplifies how misleading and hateful rhetoric against federal law enforcement can and does result in violence. Irresponsible rhetoric by politicians and activists have real-world consequences. It must stop.”

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials echoed this warning, with the head of the Los Angeles Field Office, Akil Davis, saying, “There can be zero tolerance for any targeting of law enforcement officials—let alone violent acts—and we’re lucky that the devices allegedly thrown by the subject did not physically injure anyone.” The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the investigation.

The incident comes amid a broader rise in threats and violence against federal law enforcement personnel this year. Lawmakers have recently proposed new criminal penalties aimed at protecting immigration officers in response to escalating harassment and confrontations. Federal agents in multiple states have reported shootings, arson attempts, and other targeted attacks, while separate investigations are ongoing into vandalism and break-ins at U.S. Attorney facilities.

Officials say the convergence of heated political rhetoric and online calls for violence has created an increasingly volatile environment for federal employees.

ICE Nets Child Rapists, Armed Robbers Despite 1,150% Surge in Attacks on Officers.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a series of criminal illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes on Monday, including child rape and armed robbery, as attacks on officers have increased by over 1,150 percent.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE officers, criminal illegal immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Haiti, and Mexico, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Arrests occurred on Monday in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and California.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Despite a more than 1,153 percent increase in assaults against our law enforcement officers, they continue to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.” – Tricia McLaughlin, DHS Assistant Secretary.

🎯IMPACT: ICE continues to target and apprehend dangerous migrants despite a surge in violence against its officers, ensuring public safety in affected communities.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on December 1 the arrest of several migrants convicted of serious crimes, including child sexual assault and armed robbery. Among those taken into custody was a Honduran national, Juan Ramos-Ramos, convicted in Hudson, New Jersey, of multiple sexual offenses, including sexual assault of a minor and endangering a child.

Another detainee, Jorge Alberto Menjivar from El Salvador, was convicted in Woburn, Massachusetts, of multiple counts of aggravated child rape and rape by force. Other arrests included a Haitian national, Jean Saint-Cyr, convicted of assault in Brooklyn, New York; a Mexican national, Luis Angel Escobar-Negrete, convicted in Texas of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and Raul Rodriguez-Martinez, also from Mexico, convicted of second-degree robbery with a firearm enhancement in Santa Ana, California.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin emphasized that “despite a more than 1,153 percent increase in assaults against our law enforcement officers, they continue to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.” She added that those detained include “pedophiles, sexual predators, and armed robbers,” underscoring the agency’s goal of removing dangerous migrants from American neighborhoods.

These arrests occur as part of a broader surge in immigration enforcement operations by DHS and ICE across the country. In Chicago, Illinois, for instance, a sweeping campaign known as Operation Midway Blitz, launched in early September, resulted in more than 800 arrests of illegal immigrants, including murderers, rapists, and gang members.

Trump Directs ICE to Begin Enforcement Actions Against Somali Illegals in Minnesota.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been directed to target illegal Somali immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, focusing on individuals with deportation orders.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE officials, the Trump administration, Somali immigrant communities, and local Minnesota leaders.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Operations are expected to begin this week in the Twin Cities, home to the largest Somali community in the U.S.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Somalians ripped off [Minnesota] for billions of dollars. Every year, billions of dollars, and they contribute nothing. The welfare is like 88 percent. I don’t want them in our country.” – President Donald J. Trump

🎯IMPACT: The move comes after President Trump ended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somali illegal immigrants and the revelation that Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) ignored allegations of widespread Medicaid fraud by the Somali community, which saw funds sent to Islamic terror groups in their home country.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been directed by the Trump administration to focus on arresting and detaining illegal Somali immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The agency will prioritize the targeting of migrants with deportation orders. The enhanced operations are expected to begin this week.

“Somalians ripped off [Minnesota] for billions of dollars. Every year, billions of dollars, and they contribute nothing. The welfare is like 88 percent. I don’t want them in our country,” President Donald J. Trump said during a Cabinet meeting earlier on Tuesday. “Their country is no good for a reason. Their country stinks. We don’t want them. We are going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage to our country,” he continued, adding: “These aren’t people that work. These are people who do nothing but complain… When they come from hell, and they complain and do nothing but bitch, we don’t want them in our country. Let them go back to where they came from and fix it.”

Late last month, the President directed his administration to begin a review of Somali green card holders, as well as ordering the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for illegal Somali immigrants that had been extended to March 17, 2026, under the former Biden government. Trump cited ongoing issues with Somali gangs and public corruption as reasons for the policy shift.

However, Democrat leaders in Minnesota are already criticizing the planned ICE action. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) expressed solidarity with the Somali community, saying, “Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali community in the entire country.” St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter (D) called the actions “un-American.” Meanwhile, Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman (D), himself born in Somalia, condemned the administration’s rhetoric, describing it as “racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic.”

The National Pulse reported on Monday that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had announced the Treasury Department has initiated investigations into into allegations of mismanagement by Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and the former Biden government, which allowed over $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to be funneled by members of Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community to Islamist terrorist groups in their home country, including al-Qaeda franchise al-Shabaab.

Walz, the Democrats’ failed 2024 vice presidential candidate, is facing allegations leveled by members of his own administration that he ignored evidence of the Medicaid fraud scheme and instead retaliated against the whistleblowers, apparently in an attempt to cover up the corruption.

Notably, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem appeared to indicate during the aforementioned Cabinet meeting that an estimated 50 percent of visa holders from Somalia, residing in Minnesota, obtained legal status through fraudulent means.

Former Honduran President Freed from U.S. Prison by Trump.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was released from a U.S. prison after receiving a pardon from President Donald J. Trump for drug charges.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Juan Orlando Hernández, Donald J. Trump, Ana García de Hernández, and U.S. prosecutors.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Hernández was released from USP Hazelton in West Virginia on December 1, following a pardon announced on November 28.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They basically said he was a drug dealer because he was the president of the country.” – Donald J. Trump

🎯IMPACT: Hernández’s release comes amid a close political race in Honduras, with broader implications for U.S.-Latin America relations.

IN FULL

Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was released from a U.S. federal prison on Monday, after receiving a pardon from President Donald J. Trump. Hernández had been serving a 45-year sentence at the high-security USP Hazelton in West Virginia following his 2024 conviction on charges of conspiring to import cocaine into the United States and possessing machine guns.

Trump granted what he called a “full and complete pardon,” asserting that Hernández had been “treated very harshly and unfairly.” His wife, Ana García de Hernández, posted on social media on December 2, saying her husband is “now a free man.”

“They basically said he was a drug dealer because he was the president of the country,” Trump said, blaming the former Biden regime for setting up Hernández.

Hernández, who led Honduras from 2014 to 2022, was extradited to the U.S. in April 2022. In court, prosecutors described his administration as running a “narco-state,” alleging he accepted millions of dollars in bribes from traffickers, safeguarded drug shipments, and enabled the transit of hundreds of tonnes of cocaine bound for the United States.

Some have condemned the pardon, given that the Trump administration is waging a war on narco-terrorists, carrying out deadly strikes on vessels suspected of smuggling drugs.

Honduras has just held a tightly contested presidential election. Initial tallies placed conservative candidate Nasry Asfura, backed by Trump and a member of the same party as Hernández, just ahead of rival Salvador Nasralla by only 515 votes, in what the national electoral authority called a “technical tie.”

Trump publicly has intervened in the race, warning the electoral commission that there would be “hell to pay” if votes were shifted away from Asfura.

Afghan Pleads Not Guilty in National Guard Shooting.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: An Afghan national has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of two National Guardsmen near the White House, killing one and critically wounding the other.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Rahmanullah Lakanwal, Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The deadly shooting occurred last Wednesday near the White House in Washington, D.C.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Allahu akbar!” – Allegedly shouted by Rahmanullah Lakanwal during the shooting.

🎯IMPACT: One National Guard member has died, another remains in serious condition. The Trump administration is pushing policy changes due to the suspect’s background, including re-vetting of Afghans settled in the U.S. by the former Biden government.

IN FULL

Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal appeared remotely from a hospital bed in D.C. Superior Court on Tuesday to face first-degree murder and related firearms charges after allegedly shooting two West Virginia National Guard soldiers near the White House last week.

Prosecutors say Lakanwal opened fire around 2 PM on November 26, 2025, striking Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, while they were on patrol. Beckstrom died from her injuries. Wolfe, initially reported deceased by West Virginia officials, remains hospitalized in serious but improving condition; by Monday, he was reportedly giving nurses a thumbs-up and moving his toes.

Court documents state Lakanwal shouted “Allahu akbar!” as he fired and was subdued by other Guardsmen while attempting to reload. He pleaded not guilty to all counts and was ordered held without bond.

Lakanwal, who was also wounded in the exchange, entered the United States in September 2021 on a Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) after serving ten years in the Afghan army alongside U.S. Special Forces in Kandahar. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) confirmed his role in a partner force until the 2021 withdrawal. He had been living in Bellingham, Washington, with his wife and five children. Authorities have not disclosed a motive, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating the incident as a possible act of terrorism.

The attack prompted an immediate White House lockdown and heightened security across the capital. President Donald J. Trump referenced the shooting during a Thanksgiving call with troops and later wrote on Truth Social that the suspect “will pay a very steep price.”

The incident has triggered a Trump administration review of thousands of Afghan nationals admitted under the Biden-era Operation Allies Welcome program, with officials citing vetting concerns. Separately, another Afghan refugee who arrived in 2021 faces federal charges in Texas for allegedly threatening to carry out a suicide bombing against Americans.

As of Tuesday, no trial date has been set for Lakanwal, who remains under guard while receiving medical treatment.

IT’S STILL HAPPENING: Illegal Immigrant Truck Driver Charged in Crash That Killed Newlyweds.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A truck driver, identified as an illegal immigrant, caused a crash in Oregon that killed a newlywed couple.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Rajinder Kumar, a 32-year-old Indian national, and victims William Carter and Jennifer Lower.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The crash occurred on November 24 in Bend, Oregon.

💬KEY QUOTE: “How many more senseless tragedies must take place before sanctuary politicians stop allowing illegal aliens to dangerously operate semi-trucks on America’s roads?” – Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin

🎯IMPACT: The incident highlights ongoing concerns over illegal immigrants operating commercial vehicles and the policies—especially in California—enabling it.

IN FULL

Rajinder Kumar, a 32-year-old illegal immigrant from India, was arrested after a semi-truck he was driving jackknifed and collided with a vehicle in Bend, Oregon, on November 24. The crash killed William Carter and his wife, Jennifer Lower, who were newlyweds. Federal authorities have revealed that Kumar was in the United States illegally, having been released into the country by the former Biden government.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disclosed that Kumar was issued a commercial driver’s license in California under Governor Gavin Newsom‘s (D-CA) administration and granted work authorization in 2023. An immigration detainer has now been lodged against Kumar following his arrest.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Rajinder Kumar, a criminal illegal alien from India, was released into our country under the Biden administration and issued a commercial driver’s license by [California Governor] Gavin Newsom’s Department of Motor Vehicles. How many more senseless tragedies must take place before sanctuary politicians stop allowing illegal aliens to dangerously operate semi-trucks on America’s roads?”

This incident is the latest in a series of fatal crashes involving illegal immigrants from India operating commercial vehicles. In August, Harjinder Singh, another illegal migrant, was arrested in Florida after a wreck that left three people dead. That same month, Partap Singh, also in the U.S. illegally, was accused of causing a multi-car pileup in California that severely injured a five-year-old. In October, Jashanpreet Singh, another illegal migrant, was arrested for an alleged drunken crash in California that killed three people.

“Our prayers are with William and Jennifer’s families,” McLaughlin said, adding, “ICE will continue its efforts to get illegal alien truck drivers off America’s highways.”

Soros-Backed Prosecutor Drops Death Penalty in Illegal Immigrant Machete Beheading Case.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Dallas County District Attorney’s office announced it would not seek the death penalty against an illegal immigrant charged with beheading a motel manager.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Yordanas Cobos-Martinez, an illegal immigrant; Chandra Nagamallaiah, the victim; and Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot’s office.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The DA’s announcement came in a November court hearing. The murder occurred in Dallas, Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Based on our investigation and my conversations, the state of Texas is not seeking the death penalty. But we reserve the right to change our mind should anything come up.” — Dallas County prosecutor Julie Johnson

🎯IMPACT: The decision not to pursue the death penalty has drawn criticism, with many pointing to the suspect’s criminal history and prior release under former President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

IN FULL

John Cruezot (D), the George Soros-backed District Attorney (DA) for Dallas County, Texas, says he will not pursue the death penalty in his prosecution of Yordanas Cobos-Martinez, an illegal immigrant charged with beheading motel manager Chandra Nagamallaiah. Dallas prosecutors announced the decision during a court hearing in November.

Cobos-Martinez allegedly attacked and murdered Nagamallaiah on September 10, 2025, following a dispute over a broken washing machine. The illegal immigrant is accused of using a machete to behead Nagamallaiah in front of the latter’s wife and son, subsequently kicking the victim’s head into the motel’s parking lot before picking it up and depositing it in a dumpster.

Prosecutor Julie Johnson stated, “Based on our investigation and my conversations, the state of Texas is not seeking the death penalty. But we reserve the right to change our mind should anything come up.” The DA’s office cited Cobos-Martinez’s immigration status as a complicating factor in securing a prosecution.

President Donald J. Trump commented on the case, saying, “I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country.” Trump criticized the former Biden government for releasing Cobos-Martinez despite his criminal record, which included child sex abuse and carjacking.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Cobos-Martinez had a prior final order of removal to Cuba but was released under an Order of Supervision in January 2025 due to Cuba’s refusal to accept him.

Alleged CEO Assassin Luigi Mangione Moves to Block Key Evidence Ahead of Murder Trial.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Luigi Mangione appeared in court as his attorneys sought to block key evidence in his upcoming trial for the alleged murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Luigi Mangione, 27, the accused, and Brian Thompson, 50, the victim, along with prosecutors and defense attorneys.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Pre-trial hearings began on December 1, 2025, in New York, nearly one year after the December 4, 2024, shooting in Manhattan.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Mr. Mangione is one young man, alleged to have acted alone, fighting for his life in three separate cases, against the full force and might of the entirety of the United States Government that is actively and persistently using him as a pawn to further its political agenda. This is the very definition of prejudicial where the consequence is death,” Mangione’s attorneys argued in court filings.

🎯IMPACT: The hearings could determine whether critical evidence, including a journal and a weapon, will be admissible in Mangione’s trial.

IN FULL

Luigi Mangione, the far-left Ivy League graduate accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, appeared in court on Monday as his attorneys sought to suppress key evidence that prosecutors claim ties him to the murder. Mangione, 27, has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors have pointed to items found in Mangione’s backpack during his arrest, including a 9mm handgun allegedly used in the killing, a silencer, and a journal in which Mangione reportedly justified the murder as an act of rebellion against the healthcare industry. Mangione’s legal team argues that the evidence was obtained unlawfully, as police did not have a warrant to search his belongings.

The defense also seeks to exclude statements Mangione made to police, claiming officers questioned him before reading his Miranda rights. They further allege that comments by President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi have prejudiced the case, citing public remarks and social media posts that they argue have tainted the jury pool.

“Mr. Mangione is one young man, alleged to have acted alone, fighting for his life in three separate cases, against the full force and might of the entirety of the United States Government that is actively and persistently using him as a pawn to further its political agenda,” defense attorneys wrote in a motion asking that the death penalty be prohibited in the case. They argued: “This is the very definition of prejudicial where the consequence is death.”

Thompson, 50, was shot in Manhattan on December 4, 2024, while walking to a hotel for his company’s annual investor conference. Surveillance footage reportedly shows a masked gunman firing at him from behind. Prosecutors say the ammunition used bore the words “delay,” “deny,” and “depose,” phraseology linked to criticisms of the insurance industry.

Mangione’s arrest and subsequent trial have drawn significant public attention, with his far-left supporters portraying the assassin as a symbol of resistance against corporate corruption. The pre-trial hearings, which began on Monday, are expected to last through the week as the court considers arguments over the admissibility of evidence and witness testimony.

DC Sets ‘Juvenile’ Curfew.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced two new juvenile curfew zones for the city over the weekend as high-traffic neighborhoods continue to struggle with youth-driven crimes and acts of violence.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The MPD, D.C. teenagers, and National Guard troops.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The curfews were enacted over the weekend.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Within a Juvenile Curfew Zone, persons under 18 are prohibited from gathering in a group of nine (9) or more in any public place or on the premises of any establishment unless engaged in certain exempted activities.” — The MPD

🎯IMPACT: Washington, D.C. has a city-wide curfew in place for those under the age of 18 that begins at 11:00 PM.

IN FULL

The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced two new juvenile curfew zones for the city over the weekend as high-traffic neighborhoods continue to struggle with youth-driven crimes and acts of violence. The first of the new curfew zones covered much of the greater Navy Yard neighborhood, which has seen the brunt of recent incidents. Meanwhile, a second curfew zone covered the U Street corridor, a popular bar and nightlife district where former Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) employee Sean Charles Dunn assaulted a federal Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent recently.

“The Juvenile Curfew Second Emergency Amendment Act of 2025 gives the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department the authority to order a Juvenile Curfew Zone in an area where large groups of youths are gathering or intend to gather in a manner that poses a risk of substantial harm to public safety,” the MPD said in its statement, adding: “Within a Juvenile Curfew Zone, persons under 18 are prohibited from gathering in a group of nine (9) or more in any public place or on the premises of any establishment unless engaged in certain exempted activities.”

Washington, D.C. has a city-wide curfew in place for those under the age of 18 that begins at 11:00 PM. Despite the ongoing issues in the city with youth crime, incidents overall have fallen since President Donald J. Trump ordered the deployment of National Guard soldiers to the city to assist with crime prevention.

Efforts to crack down on violent crime in D.C. have been hampered in the past by the city’s radical, progressive-dominated city council. The council’s anti-police policies and soft-on-crime agenda led to an explosion in crime during the former Biden government, which has only abated since Trump’s National Guard order. It is widely speculated that clashes between the D.C. City Council and Mayor Muriel Bowser led to the latter’s recently announced decision to forgo a run for a fourth term in office.

Last week, National Guard specialist Sarah Beckstrom was tragically shot and killed by a radical Islamist in D.C., while Air Force staff sergeant Andrew Wolfe continues to fight for his life. Both were shot at point-blank range during an ambush attack just blocks from the White House.

Judges Cut Sentence of Muslim Gang Rapist of Jewish Girl, 12, to Aid His ‘Reintegration.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A Muslim teenager involved in the gang rape of a 12-year-old Jewish girl in France had his sentence reduced by the Versailles Court of Appeal.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Two teenage Muslims, one of whom was 13 at the time, were convicted of the crime; a third boy was too young to face prosecution.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The attack occurred in Courbevoie, France, on June 15, 2022, with the original trial held in June 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “There is no doubt that [the victim] would not have been assaulted or raped if she had not been Jewish,” the original trial judge conceded.

🎯IMPACT: The decision has sparked outrage among those who believe justice for victims is taking a backseat to the supposed needs of offenders.

IN FULL

A French appeals court has reduced the prison sentence of a Muslim teenager convicted in the 2022 gang rape of a 12-year-old Jewish girl from nine years to seven, citing the need to aid his future “reintegration” into society. The defendant was 13 at the time of the attack.

The assault took place on June 15, 2022, in Courbevoie, a suburb northwest of Paris. The victim was ambushed by three boys, dragged to a shed, and forced to perform sexual acts on two of them. She was threatened with death, called a “dirty Jew,” ordered to convert to Islam, and had a lighter held to her face in an attempt to burn her.

In the initial June 2025 trial, the two older defendants received seven and nine years for religiously aggravated gang rape of a minor under 15. The youngest boy, under 12 at the time, could not be criminally prosecuted due to his age and was placed in an educational facility for five years.

The presiding judge at the original trial stated: “There is no doubt that [the victim] would not have been assaulted or raped if she had not been Jewish.” The girl’s lawyers praised her courage, saying: “The main thing is that she has managed to bring the perpetrators of her attack to justice and that two of them are imprisoned.”

Speaking to French media after the verdict, the victim explained why she reported the crime: “It’s important for me to speak out because the very fact I spoke out meant he was quickly arrested and imprisoned. By doing this, I protect myself and I protect others; so they cannot do this to others.”

The reduced sentence has reignited accusations of two-tier justice in Europe, with courts and police often treating offenders from ethnic or religious minorities more leniently than native Europeans. Recent examples include new sentencing guidelines in Britain that attempted to urge judges to consider bail more favorably for ethnic minorities, and a suspended sentence handed to a migrant who sexually assaulted a white teenager.
