Trump Admin Catches MS-13 Leaders Released Into U.S. Under Biden.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal law enforcement arrested two illegal immigrant MS-13 gang leaders during a raid in Omaha, Nebraska, on Wednesday. Both men are wanted by El Salvador’s government for numerous violent crimes.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Melvin Alejandro Varela Pérez, a.k.a. Payaso, Rene Escobar-Ochoa, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), other federal law enforcement agencies, MS-13, the government of El Salvador, INTERPOL, and the former Biden government.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The two MS-13 gang leaders were arrested on Wednesday, July 9, 2025; both were detained and paroled into the United States by the former Biden government.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The Biden Administration allowed two ringleaders of MS-13, one of the most violent gangs in the world, straight into our country. One of these depraved aliens is on El Salvador’s 100 Most Wanted Fugitives list and is wanted for five counts of murder. The other has an INTERPOL notice for drug trafficking.” — DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

🎯IMPACT: Both men are now in ICE custody while the agency coordinates for them to be returned to El Salvador.

IN FULL

Two illegal immigrant MS-13 gang kingpins were arrested during a federal raid in Omaha, Nebraska, on Wednesday, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Melvin Alejandro Varela Pérez—also known as Payaso—and Rene Escobar-Ochoa are both wanted by the Salvadoran government and are accused of numerous murders, conspiracy to commit murder, and drug trafficking. Pérez is listed on El Salvador’s 100 Most Wanted, and Escobar-Ochoa is the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice. Concerningly, DHS states that despite the warrants and Red Notice, both men were paroled by the former Biden government into the United States after being detained while illegally crossing the U.S. southern border.

“The Biden Administration allowed two ringleaders of MS-13, one of the most violent gangs in the world, straight into our country,” said Tricia McLaughlin, DHS’s Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs. “One of these depraved aliens is on El Salvador’s 100 Most Wanted Fugitives list and is wanted for five counts of murder. The other has an INTERPOL notice for drug trafficking.”

“These are the kinds of scum-bags sanctuary politicians are protecting and letting walk free on America’s streets,” she added.

Both men are now in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after being captured in the raid, which was led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and included other federal and international law enforcement partners. DHS says that ICE will continue to hold both MS-13 leaders as it coordinates with the Salvadoran government on returning them to the Central American nation to face justice.

The arrests are being highlighted as a shocking example of the lack of adequate vetting of illegal immigrants detained and subsequently released into the interior of the U.S. under former President Joe Biden.

Speaking on the matter on Thursday, President Donald J. Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, blasted the Biden-Harris era, noting that former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had directed U.S. immigration officials to only proceed with immediate deportations when the detainee had prior violent criminal convictions and not merely warrants for violent crimes.

Would-Be Trump Assassin Ryan Routh Fires Lawyer, Wants to Represent Himself.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Ryan Wesley Routh, who attempted to assassinate President Donald J. Trump late last year, informed a federal court that he has fired his attorney and is requesting to represent himself.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Ryan Routh, federal prosecutors, a U.S. federal court, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The court was informed of Routh’s decision on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

🎯IMPACT: It remains to be seen whether the court will deem Routh competent enough to represent himself. The 59-year-old faces serious consequences should he be found guilty, as attempting to assassinate a president can carry a sentence of life in prison or even the death penalty.

IN FULL

Would-be presidential assassin Ryan Wesley Routh announced in court on Thursday that he has fired his attorney and is requesting that he be allowed to represent himself. Routh is currently facing five federal charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty, stemming from a September 2024 attempt on President Donald J. Trump’s life. The federal trial is currently slated to begin on September 8, 2025, with Routh facing state charges as well.

Last year, Routh was discovered by the United States Secret Service (USSS) hiding with a SKS-style rifle amidst shrubbery on the edge of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. At the time, Trump was just several hundred yards away playing a round of golf. After spotting Routh positioned in cover with a rifle, a Secret Service agent performing an advance sweep, several holes ahead of Trump, fired four shots at the would-be assassin, causing him to flee the scene. Subsequently, Routh was pursued by law enforcement in a high-speed chase in which a six-year-old girl was nearly killed. He was apprehended some time later in Marin County, Florida, after causing a multi-car crash on a highway, which nearly resulted in the death of the young girl.

The 59-year-old Routh’s attempt to assassinate Trump appears to have been inspired by the former’s obsession with supporting Ukraine. The would-be assassin appears to have been deeply involved with efforts to send Afghanistan military veterans to Ukraine to assist in the country’s defense against Russia Additionally, federal prosecutors have produced a letter authored by Routh in which he pledges a six-figure cash bounty on President Trump, with the text also suggesting that he was likely inspired by the anti-Trump rhetoric pushed by the Democratic Party.

A separate November 2024 letter authored by Routh and sent to the media indicates that President Trump’s firm stance against Iran’s nuclear weapons program and sponsorship of terrorism was a secondary motivation for the assassination attempt. Notably, Iran has repeatedly threatened the life of Trump and other government officials in retaliation for a January 3, 2020, drone strike, which killed Iranian Quds Forces commander Qasem Soleimani.

It remains to be seen whether the court will deem Routh competent enough to represent himself. The 59-year-old faces serious consequences should he be found guilty of the federal charges. Attempting to assassinate a president can carry a sentence of life in prison or even the death penalty.

Judge Accused of Helping Illegal Alien Evade Arrest Can Stand Trial.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A U.S. magistrate judge ruled that a case can proceed against Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who is accused of aiding an illegal immigrant in evading arrest.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Judge Hannah Dugan, illegal immigrant Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph, and Dugan’s attorney Steven Biskupic.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The indictment was reported in May, and a nonbinding recommendation was issued Monday. The events took place in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

💬KEY QUOTE: “A judge’s actions, even when done in her official capacity, does not bar criminal prosecution if the actions were done in violation of the criminal law,” wrote Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph.

🎯IMPACT: The case will proceed, raising questions about judicial immunity and the legality of Dugan’s actions.

IN FULL

A U.S. magistrate judge has ruled that criminal proceedings can continue against Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who is facing allegations of obstructing federal immigration authorities. The case centers on claims that Dugan assisted an illegal immigrant in evading arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to a two-page federal indictment, Dugan is accused of obstructing a U.S. agency and concealing Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, an illegal immigrant. Prosecutors allege she deliberately interfered with ICE’s efforts to detain Flores-Ruiz by hiding his whereabouts.

Dugan pleaded not guilty at a hearing in May. Her legal team has argued that the charges should be dismissed, claiming she is protected by judicial immunity for actions taken in her official role on the bench.

However, Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph, in a recent recommendation, declined to support dismissal of the case. She wrote, A judge’s actions, even when done in her official capacity, does not bar criminal prosecution if the actions were done in violation of the criminal law.”

Judge Joseph also emphasized that it remains uncertain whether Dugan’s conduct falls outside the scope of her judicial responsibilities. She stated that this ambiguity cannot be resolved through a motion to dismiss, and therefore the case must continue through the court process.

Dugan’s attorney, Steven Biskupic, reacted to the decision and expressed dissatisfaction with the recommendation. We are disappointed in the magistrate judge’s non-binding recommendation, and we will appeal it. This is only one step in what we expect will be a long journey to preserve the independence and integrity of our courts,” he said.

The recommendation is not final, but it allows the case to proceed while the legal process unfolds. A more decisive ruling will fall to a U.S. district judge, who will review Judge Joseph’s findings.

Trump CBP: Green Card Migrants With Criminal Records Will Be Deported.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal authorities have warned that green card holders with criminal records face detention and deportation for violating immigration laws.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and immigrants and their advocates.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The warning was issued recently on X (formerly Twitter), with enforcement actions occurring across the United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Possessing a green card is a privilege, not a right,” Customs and Border Protection confirmed on X.

🎯IMPACT: Green card holders with criminal histories or those accused of supporting extremist activities face heightened scrutiny, detention, and potential deportation.

IN FULL

Federal immigration officials are warning migrants with lawful permanent resident status that they still face deportation if they have criminal records. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says green card holders found to be violating criminal law or immigration law face revocation of their legal residency and deportation.

CBP emphasized the seriousness of this issue in a recent statement on X, formerly Twitter, writing: Under our nation’s laws, our government has the authority to revoke your green card if our laws are broken and abused.”

The agency also warned that lawful permanent residents arriving at U.S. ports of entry who have criminal convictions may be detained and could undergo removal proceedings. This notice aligns with broader enforcement policies under the Trump administration, prioritizing tougher immigration measures, including much stronger border control, removing illegals, and heightened scrutiny of those with legal status.

Amelia Wilson, assistant professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law and director of the Immigration Justice Clinic, complains that green cards should not be taken away without due process. The Department of Homeland Security cannot unilaterally ‘revoke’ a permanent resident’s status, Wilson insists. There is a process the agency must follow, including serving the individual with a ‘Notice of Intent to Rescind,’ at which time that individual is entitled to a hearing before an immigration judge.

In a separate post on X, Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated the administration’s stance on national security concerns tied to immigration enforcement, stating: We will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported.”

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) echoed this approach, warning that permanent residents and visa holders could lose their immigration privileges if they are found to have committed crimes, supported terrorism, or engaged in activities threatening public safety.

These moves come as the Trump administration is also pushing to denaturalize immigrants who have acquired U.S. citizenship, if they are found to have lied during the naturalization process or committed crimes, among other transgressions.

The Trump administration has also launched online campaigns encouraging illegal immigrants to self-deport and promoting arrests of individuals with criminal histories as part of a broader crackdown.

Comey, Brennan, Under DOJ Investigation for Role in Russiagate Hoax.

Former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey are targets of a federal criminal investigation regarding their roles in the “Russia Collusion” hoax targeting Donald Trump in 2016.

The details: According to sources within the Justice Department, the current CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, referred Brennan to the FBI for investigation after reviewing declassified internal reviews. The FBI views his and Comey’s coordination as a potential criminal “conspiracy.”

Back up: The FBI’s 2016 “Crossfire Hurricane” probe into Trump-Russia “collusion” was launched based on the Steele Dossier—unverified [and now discredited] opposition research funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

  • The dossier was later included in a January 6, 2017, Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) for then-President Obama, which led to the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Trump-Russia collusion.
  • In 2019, Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded that there was no Trump–Russia conspiracy. In 2023, the Durham report went a step further and concluded the probe was politically motivated.

Zoom out: A 2025 CIA review found the Steele Dossier’s inclusion in the 2017 ICA was politically driven and ignored intelligence standards. It also found that Brennan pushed to include the discredited dossier, despite warnings from senior CIA officials.

Perjury? In 2023, Brennan testified to the House Judiciary Committee that he did not believe the dossier should be included in the 2017 ICA.

What the White House is saying: Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News: “Both of these disgraceful individuals turned against our Constitution and our country… The truth must come out.”

Eleven Arrests After Sniper Ambush at ICE Facility Saw Officer Shot in the Neck.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Eleven people were arrested after a “planned ambush” targeting corrections officers at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Ten to 12 masked individuals dressed in black, law enforcement officers, and corrections officers at the Prairieland ICE detention facility.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Late at night on July 4, 2025, at the Prairieland ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Make no mistake; this was not a so-called ‘peaceful protest.’ It was, indeed, an ambush.” – Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson.

🎯IMPACT: Ten suspects face charges, including attempted murder of federal officers, with potential sentences ranging from ten years to life in prison. Another suspect faces charges related to evidence tampering.

IN FULL

Eleven suspects accused of orchestrating a violent attack on the Prairieland U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, have been arrested. The attack left a police officer with a gunshot wound to the neck; as of the time of publication, he is expected to recover.

The incident began around 10:37 PM when 10-12 suspects, some masked, defaced vehicles with graffiti reading “ICE pig” and “traitor” and set off fireworks near the facility. As two unarmed ICE corrections officers responded, an assailant fired 20-30 rounds at them, while another shot an arriving Alvarado police officer in the neck.

Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson explained that the vandalism and fireworks had been intended to lure federal agents into the open. Once law enforcement was drawn out, they were fired upon from a wooded area nearby.

“Today, my office has charged ten individuals with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer,” Larson said. “Each of the ten are also charged with three counts of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. Each of these defendants faces a mandatory prison term of ten years and up to life in prison. An additional co-conspirator was charged with an obstruction of justice and conspiracy for attempting to conceal and destroy evidence in relation to the attack, and he faces up to ten years in prison.”

She stressed that the attack “was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers. Make no mistake; this was not a so-called ‘peaceful protest.’ It was, indeed, an ambush.”

Authorities recovered AR-15 rifles, body armor, and materials like a ‘Resist Fascism’ flag, and ‘Fight ICE terror’ and ‘Organising for Attack! Insurrectionary Anarchy’ fliers, suggesting an organized effort.

Meanwhile, a gunman was killed on Monday after entering the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport, Texas, and opening fire.

These incidents come in the same week as Axios reported Democrats were telling them their base has become increasingly radical, particularly on immigration, with one unnamed lawmaker telling the news outlet, “Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.”

Terrorists and Gangsters Are Teaching Each Other How to Make Bombs and Launder Money in Prison.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A study has revealed that terrorists and organized criminals in British prisons are exchanging dangerous skills, including bomb-making and money laundering techniques.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Islamic extremist inmates, gang members, prison officers, researchers, and researchers such as Dr. Hannah Bennett.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The study highlights ongoing issues within high-security prisons across the United Kingdom, including His Majesty’s Prison (HMP) Frankland and HMP Belmarsh.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Some prisoners are coming out knowing how to make a bomb. Others are learning how to use the dark web or commit financial crime.” – Dr. Hannah Bennett

🎯IMPACT: The study warns of dangerous alliances forming in prisons, posing a threat both inside and outside prison if unchecked.

IN FULL

Islamist terrorists in British prisons are reportedly teaching organized criminals bomb-making skills. In exchange, the criminals are teaching the terrorists how to launder money. Gangsters are also said to be teaching inmates how to use the dark web and acquire weapons for terrorist attacks, according to a new study.

Interviews with prison officers, former prison governors, counter-terrorism officials, and prisoners themselves indicates that terrorists and other prisoners are less divided than they were previously. This means the terrorists may soon be able to fund their activities more extensively, while gangsters will be able to use more violent methods, such as bombings, in their turf wars.

“Some prisoners are coming out knowing how to make a bomb. Others are learning how to use the dark web or commit financial crime. For many, it’s about protection but it’s also about opportunity,” said study author Dr. Hannah Bennett.

The findings follow high-profile attacks on prison guards. These include an incident involving Hashem Abedi, Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi’s accomplice brother, who attacked three officers with makeshift knives and hot oil at HMP Frankland in April, and Southport mass murderer Axel Rudakubana, who scalded a guard with boiling water.

Dr. Bennett characterized maximum-security prisons as oppressive, “black hole”-like settings, marked by rampant corruption, pervasive violence, and inadequate oversight, increasing risks “exponentially.”

Britain’s prison system is highly overcrowded, due to previous Labour and Conservative governments failing to substantially increase capacity. The current leftist Labour government is releasing thousands of prisoners to ease the stress on the system.

As these criminals have been released, people who took part in anti-mass migration protests and riots or made approving comments about them on social media after the Southport killings have been receiving unusually lengthy sentences.

Federal Judge Rules Trump Can Deport Boulder Terror Suspect’s Family.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge ruled that the family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, accused of a firebomb attack on pro-Israel demonstrators, can be deported.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Mohamed Sabry Soliman, his wife, five children, U.S. District Court Judge Orlando Garcia, and Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The attack took place on June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado. The ruling was issued on Wednesday, July 2.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This horrific act of terror has now claimed the life of an innocent person who was beloved by her family and friends.” – Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.

🎯IMPACT: The ruling clears the way for the family’s deportation while Soliman faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and federal hate crime violations.

IN FULL

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian illegal alien accused of a firebomb attack on peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators in Boulder, Colorado, can be deported. U.S. District Court Judge Orlando Garcia rejected the Soliman family’s lawsuit to halt their removal, stating that the Trump administration followed proper legal procedures for deportation.

The decision overturned a temporary stay issued last month by Biden-appointed Judge Gordon Gallagher. Soliman’s wife and five children had sought to block the expedited deportation process, but Garcia ruled he lacked jurisdiction to grant their request.

The case stems from a June 1 terror attack, where Soliman allegedly threw Molotov cocktails and used homemade flamethrowers against elderly participants in a “Run for Their Lives” event supporting Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The attack injured 29 people, eight of whom were hospitalized with burns. Karen Diamond, an 82-year-old victim, died from her injuries this week.

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty called the attack a “horrific act of terror” that took the life of a beloved community member, vowing to seek justice for the victims. Following Diamond’s death, prosecutors upgraded two of Soliman’s charges from attempted murder to first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence without parole if convicted.

Federal prosecutors charged the 45-year-old Egyptian with a 12-count indictment, including nine hate crime violations and three counts related to using fire or explosives during a felony. The indictment claims Soliman targeted the demonstration due to its support for Israeli hostages, with witnesses reporting him shouting anti-Zionist phrases like “How many children you killed” and “They are killers.”

Soliman entered the U.S. legally on a tourist visa in 2022, which expired in February 2023. Despite his unlawful status, the Biden government granted him work authorization in March 2023. After the attack, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained his wife and five children. Their deportation is expected to proceed in the coming weeks, pending any appeals.

Boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Has Been Arrested by ICE for Alleged Cartel Ties.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been arrested and is facing “expedited removal” from the U.S. over allegations of cartel involvement in his home country.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., son of legendary three-weight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Sinaloa Cartel.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Chavez Jr. was arrested on Wednesday, July 2, as announced by DHS on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Under President Trump, no one is above the law—including world-famous athletes,” said DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin.

🎯IMPACT: Chavez Jr. faces deportation proceedings from the United States.

IN FULL

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., a well-known Mexican boxer and son of the legendary three-weight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., has been arrested by U.S. immigration authorities over alleged ties to Mexican organized crime. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Thursday that Chavez Jr. is being processed for “expedited removal” from the United States.

“Under President Trump, no one is above the law—including world-famous athletes,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said. According to DHS, Chavez Jr. has “an active arrest warrant in Mexico for his involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms, ammunition, and explosives.”

The arrest was carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Wednesday. Federal officials state that Chavez Jr., originally from Mexico’s Sinaloa region, is allegedly linked to the infamous Sinaloa Cartel. In February this year, the Sinaloa Cartel was designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by President Donald J. Trump.

Notably, the boxer legally entered the United States in 2023 on a B2 tourist visa, which expired in February of last year. Subsequently, on April 2, 2024, Chavez Jr. filed for Lawful Permanent Resident status, citing his marriage to a U.S. citizen. “Chavez’s application was based on his marriage to a U.S. citizen, who is connected to the Sinaloa Cartel through a prior relationship with the now-deceased son of the infamous cartel leader Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman,” DHS revealed.

“On December 17, 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services made a referral to ICE that Chavez is an egregious public safety threat,” the department noted, adding: “However, an entry in a DHS law enforcement system under the Biden administration indicated Chavez was not an immigration enforcement priority.” According to the arrest announcement, Chavez Jr. re-entered the United States on January 4, 2025, and was paroled by the Biden government. The Trump administration determined on January 27, 2025, that the boxer had made “multiple fraudulent statements on his application to become a Lawful Permanent Resident,” making his continued U.S. residency unlawful.

MAGA Congressman’s Intern Shot Dead in Dem-Run D.C.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old intern, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Democrat-run Washington D.C., struck by a stray bullet.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, other victims, including a woman and a 16-year-old boy, and unidentified shooters.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Monday evening near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, D.C.

🎯IMPACT: A young intern’s life was tragically cut short, and the shooters remain at large, increasing conservative dissatisfaction with crime and disorder under “home rule” in Democrat-dominated D.C.

IN FULL

Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old college student interning for Representative Ron Estes (R-KS), died after being struck by a stray bullet in a drive-by shooting in downtown Washington, D.C. The incident occurred Monday evening near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where police found Tarpinian-Jachym unconscious with gunshot wounds. Authorities believe Tarpinian-Jachym was an unintended victim caught in gunfire aimed at others.

Multiple individuals reportedly exited a vehicle and opened fire. Two other victims, an unnamed woman and a 16-year-old boy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting. The shooters remain at large, and the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to their arrest and conviction.

Notably, the shooting death occurred just blocks away from the Capital Jewish Museum, where far-left pro-Hamas activist Elias Rodriguez murdered two Israeli Embassy staffers in May. Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other crimes following the fatal shooting.

Washington, D.C., has seen a concerning level of violent crime in recent years. In May of 2024, a Metropolitan Police Department captain was shot in the head just blocks from his precinct station.

The violence led President Donald J. Trump to sign an Executive Order in March to exert greater federal authority over the nation’s capital, including expanding federal law enforcement presence and directing Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors to seek federal charges against individuals arrested on gun offenses in the city.
