A Haitian migrant vessel containing guns, drugs, and night vision gear was intercepted off the coast of Florida last week. Twenty-five Haitian illegal aliens were also on board.
“Our Florida Fish and Wildlife offices interdicted a vessel that had 25 illegal immigrants, potential illegal immigrants from Haiti in their boat. In their vessel they had firearms, they had drugs, they had night vision gear, and were boating very recklessly, which would potentially endanger other folks,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced last week.
“That vessel was interdicted near the Sebastian Inlet and those illegal aliens were turned over to the Coast Guard for deportation,” he added.
The revelation comes after DeSantis deployed additional law enforcement officers and National Guard troops to South Florida to protect the state from an impending surge of Haitian illegals. Last week, the Department of Defense was warned that the escalating crisis in Haiti could result in a “maritime mass migration” and said it was “alert to that possibility.”
The situation in Haiti is deteriorating rapidly as gang violence continues to plague the nation’s capital, Port-au-Prince. A transitional council is expected to take power soon following the announced resignation of the country’s prime minister, Ariel Henry. Currently, the most powerful man in the country is Jimmy Chérizier, the leader of a cannibal gang who goes by the name ‘Barbecue.’
