Half a Million Illegal Immigrants Granted Amnesty.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Spanish government is set to approve a decree to regularize 500,000 illegal immigrants.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Migration Minister Elma Saiz and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, VOX leader Santiago Abascal.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The decree will be approved on January 27 in Spain.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “500,000 illegals! The tyrant Sánchez hates the Spanish people. He wants to replace them. That’s why he intends to promote the pull effect by decree, to accelerate the invasion. We must stop him. Repatriations, deportations, and remigration.” – Santiago Abascal.

🎯IMPACT: The regularization policy presents a threat to the wider European Union (EU), as once granted legal status by one EU member, migrants can typically move around the borderless Schengen Area even more easily.

IN FULL

Spain’s left-wing government is preparing to approve a decree that would grant amnesty to around 500,000 illegal immigrants, according to Migration Minister Elma Saiz. Speaking on public broadcaster RTVE, Saiz said those covered by the measure would be able to work “in any sector, in any part of the country,” and stressed what she called “the positive impact” of migration.

She added that the policy is about “recognizing and dignifying” people who are already living in Spain. The regularization would apply to migrants who have lived in the country for as little as five months and who applied for international protection before December 31, 2025, as well as their children who are already in Spain. Applications are expected to open in April and run through the end of June.

The leader of Spain’s populist, anti-mass migration VOX party, Santiago Abascal, reacted to the amnesty on X, saying, “500,000 illegals! The tyrant Sánchez hates the Spanish people. He wants to replace them. That’s why he intends to promote the pull effect by decree, to accelerate the invasion. We must stop him. Repatriations, deportations, and remigration.”

The government plans to implement the measure by decree, bypassing parliament, where the Socialist-led governing coalition lacks a majority. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has argued that Spain needs mass migration to fill labor shortages and offset the pressures of an aging population, warning that demographic decline could threaten pensions and the welfare state if left unaddressed—although it is debatable whether the typical migrant is a net contributor to the pensions and welfare systems.

Official crime data and research from the CEU-CEFAS Demographic Observatory suggest that migrants are overrepresented in certain violent crime categories, including rape and homicide, compared with native Spaniards. Those findings have fueled criticism from opposition figures and commentators who argue that large-scale regularization could worsen public safety and strain social services.

Across Europe, migration policy remains deeply divisive. European Union (EU) institutions have simultaneously promoted so-called legal pathways for migrants, including online platforms designed to attract non-EU workers to address labor shortages, while many member states have tightened national controls in response to public backlash. Notably, because of the EU’s borderless Schengen Area, migrants regularized by one member state tend to have easy access to every member state, extending the consequences of Spain’s decision far beyond its borders.

During a 2025 visit to Europe, President Donald J. Trump urged governments on the continent to “get your act together,” warning that “this immigration is killing Europe” and describing what he called a “horrible invasion.”

Minnesota’s Top Federal Judge Orders ICE Chief to Court, Threatens Contempt.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Minnesota’s chief federal judge has summoned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) acting head to court, threatening contempt for defying orders.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Court Judge Patrick Schiltz and ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The order was issued Monday night, with a court appearance set for Friday in Minnesota.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The court’s patience is at an end,” stated Judge Schiltz.

🎯IMPACT: The situation underscores tensions over immigration enforcement and judicial authority in Minnesota.

IN FULL

Minnesota’s top federal judge, U.S. District Court Judge Patrick Schiltz, has ordered Todd Lyons, the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to appear in court on Friday. Judge Schiltz is demanding that Lyons respond to allegations that ICE has repeatedly defied judicial orders in the state.

In a three-page order on Monday night, Judge Schiltz expressed his frustration with the agency’s actions during Operation Metro Surge, the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration enforcement action in the Twin Cities. The operation has led to numerous lawsuits from immigrants claiming unlawful detention.

The judge claims in his order that the administration has been slow or outright resistant to complying with federal judges’ directives in Minnesota, including his own. He noted the case of an individual he ordered released on January 15, who remained detained as of Monday night.

“The court’s patience is at an end,” Judge Schiltz wrote, continuing, “The practical consequence of respondents’ failure to comply has almost always been significant hardship to aliens (many of whom have lawfully lived and worked in the United States for years and done absolutely nothing wrong). The detention of an alien is extended, or an alien who should remain in Minnesota is flown to Texas, or an alien who has been flown to Texas is released there and told to figure out a way to get home.”

Previously, Judge Schiltz declined to overturn a federal magistrate judge’s decision not to approve federal charges against disgraced journalist and ex-CNN anchor Don Lemon. Notably, Schiltz used the Lemon case as an opportunity to scold the administration over what he believes are unlawful detentions.

RINO Governor Undermines Trump on Immigration Enforcement.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) called for a “recalibration” of immigration enforcement after Alex Pretti was shot by Border Patrol during a confrontation with agents in Minnesota.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Abbott, Border Patrol agents, and the Trump administration.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The shooting occurred on Saturday in Minneapolis, with Abbott’s comments made on Monday.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “They, being the White House, need to recalibrate on what needs to be done to make sure that respect is going to be re-instilled.” – Governor Greg Abbott

🎯IMPACT: Abbott’s intervention underscores how unreliable leading Republicans can still be on key issues.

IN FULL

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has called on the Trump administration to reconsider its approach to immigration enforcement following the shooting of Alex Pretti during a confrontation with Border Patrol agents over the weekend. Pretti was killed Saturday in Minneapolis during a chaotic encounter with Border Patrol agents. The shooting came just weeks after the fatal shooting of Renee Good, who hit a federal agent with her car while trying to evade detention.

Abbott addressed the issue during an appearance on The Mark Davis Show, where he was asked what advice he would give Trump to help restore public support for ICE. Abbott, who has presided over the explosive growth of Islam in his state, and the institution of a state Pakistan Day, called for a shift in approach.

“In general, we need to have respect for law enforcement officers in the country. ICE, they are law enforcement officers. So they, being the White House, need to recalibrate on what needs to be done to make sure that respect is going to be re-instilled,” Abbott said. “That’s not an easy task, especially under the current circumstances. But I know that they’re working on a game plan to make sure that they’re going to recalibrate, maybe work from a different direction, to ensure that they get back to what they wanted to do to begin with, which is to remove people from the country who are here illegally, who were allowed in by Joe Biden—and especially those who posed the most danger.”

In recent years, Abbott has been criticized for his questionable positions, including condemning right-leaning online platforms as extremist while engaging in diplomatic or economic cooperation involving officials linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

There’s Bodycam Footage of Latest MN Shooting, White House Confirms.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The White House is reviewing bodycam footage of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by a Border Patrol agent.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Alex Pretti, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, President Donald J. Trump, and Governor Tim Walz (D-MN).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The shooting occurred on Saturday in Minnesota, with federal officials and the White House addressing the matter on Monday.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “The President has said we have to review it, and this investigation has to continue.” – White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

🎯IMPACT: The investigation into the shooting has sparked protests in Minnesota and prompted federal intervention, with the White House deploying Border Czar Tom Homan to oversee the situation.

IN FULL

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents involved in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis over the weekend were wearing body cameras. The White House is reviewing the footage, while the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) are interviewing witnesses and the agents involved, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“The President has said we have to review it and this investigation has to continue,” Leavitt said during the White House briefing on Monday. However, she did not commit—without first speaking to President Donald J. Trump—on whether the body camera footage would be released to the public.

Meanwhile, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem stated that all video evidence would be analyzed as part of the investigation. President Donald Trump also commented, saying his administration is “reviewing everything” related to the shooting. Both Trump and Leavitt have stressed the need for cooperation between federal and local law enforcement.

“Mr. Homan is the point person for cooperation between local and federal law enforcement,” Leavitt said at the White House, referring to Border Czar Tom Homan. She suggested that if Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) commit to ensuring criminal illegal immigrants detained by state and local law enforcement are handed over to federal agents, the current CBP presence in the state will change.

The National Pulse reported earlier on Monday that President Trump had announced in a post on Truth Social that he has spoken with Gov. Walz and that the Democrat will “work together” with the administration as ICE seeks to secure criminal illegal aliens in the state.

President Trump suggested that White House Border Czar Homan is heading to Minnesota to work with Walz on securing the criminal aliens currently held in state and local jails and transferring them to federal custody.

Mamdani-Allied, CCP-Linked Activist Group is Training Anti-ICE Rioters.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The New York City-based activist group DRUM—founded by Kazi Fouzia, a radical Bangladeshi Islamist-Maoist and top ally to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D)—is holding seminars to train activists in how to physically interfere with federal agents making immigration enforcement arrests.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: DRUM and its affiliate DRUM Beats, DRUM founder Kazi Fouzia, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, ICE Watch, the Manhattan Institute, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

📍WHEN & WHERE: ICE Watch training took place in Jackson Heights, Queens, on January 18, 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: Portions of the seminar covered actions such as “striking,” “escaping holds,” and “community defense.”

🎯IMPACT: Several key organizers of DRUM’s pro-Mamdani get-out-the-vote operation have close ties to the Haqooq-e-Khalq Party—a radical socialist political party in Pakistan widely considered a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

IN FULL

The New York City-based activist group DRUM—founded by Kazi Fouzia, a radical Bangladeshi Islamist-Maoist and top ally to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani—is holding seminars to train activists in how to physically interfere with federal agents making immigration enforcement arrests. In what the group calls a “de-arrest,” attendees of its seminar—with one recently held on January 18 in Jackson Heights, Queens—are trained in how to physically assault and remove a detainee from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Footage obtained by the Manhattan Institute shows a mask-wearing Asian woman instructing activists on what is best described as quasi-martial arts techniques that can be used to free an individual being restrained by law enforcement. Other portions of the seminar covered actions such as “striking,” “escaping holds,” and “community defense.” Notably, an advertisement for the January 18 event prominently states that attendees would be given free pepper spray and ICE Watch kits.

The National Pulse previously reported that DRUM and its affiliate, DRUM Beats, were critical components of Mamdani’s 2025 campaign’s ground game. Concerningly, several key organizers of DRUM’s pro-Mamdani get-out-the-vote operation have close ties to the Haqooq-e-Khalq Party—a radical socialist political party in Pakistan widely considered a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Additionally, Fouzia and DRUM are also linked to Shanghai-based billionaire Neville Roy Singham, identified by a number of American media outlets as a key figure in CCP influence operations.

Renee Nicole Good, a Minneapolis woman who was fatally shot while attempting to run over an ICE agent earlier this month, took part in ICE Watch training provided through her son’s school. According to people close to Renee Good and her lesbian partner, Rebecca Good, in their Minneapolis community, she was involved with a group of activists aiming to “document and resist” immigration enforcement in Minnesota.

Tim Walz Has the National Guard Handing Out Coffee and Donuts to Anti-ICE Activists.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Minnesota National Guard handed out coffee and donuts to anti-ICE protesters in St. Paul.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Minnesota National Guard, anti-ICE protesters, and federal officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Sunday, January 26, 2026, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: The National Guard said the handouts were a “demonstration of safety and security.”

🎯IMPACT: The interaction occurred amid rising tensions between activists, state officials, and federal agencies in Minnesota over immigration enforcement.

IN FULL

Members of the Minnesota National Guard were observed on Sunday in St. Paul distributing coffee and donuts to agitators protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Guardsmen wearing yellow reflective vests handed out the refreshments from the rear of a vehicle positioned near the protest.

A member of the Guard described the action as a “demonstration of safety and security.” The appearance of the troops followed earlier statements from the Minnesota National Guard indicating that personnel deployed in the Twin Cities would wear reflective vests to clearly distinguish themselves from federal law enforcement.

The Guard’s presence came one day after a Border Patrol agent fatally shot Alex J. Pretti, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident, during a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operation.

Minnesota has become a focal point in the national debate over immigration enforcement. Recent operations in the state have led to the arrest of migrants with serious criminal records, including convictions for homicide, child sexual abuse, and drug trafficking.

Reports have surfaced alleging that elected Democratic officials and activist groups coordinated efforts to monitor and disrupt federal immigration actions, including through encrypted messaging platforms. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has confirmed that investigations into whether this activity broke the law are underway.

‘They Should Be Worried’ – Kash Confirms FBI is Investigating Anti-ICE Signal Groups.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has confirmed the bureau is investigating leaked Signal chats used by anti-ICE activists to coordinate their disruption of federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Kash Patel, the FBI, and anti-ICE activists.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Patel confirmed the investigations during an interview on Monday, January 26, 2026.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “If they break the law, you should be worried; it’s that simple.” – Kash Patel.

🎯IMPACT: The investigations could have significant consequences for those participating in the group chats if criminal activity is discovered.

IN FULL

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has confirmed that the bureau is actively investigating group chats on the encrypted messaging app Signal that are reportedly being used to identify, track, and disrupt federal law enforcement, including members of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Patel confirmed during an interview on January 26 that an investigation is underway. When told that people within the chats were reportedly scared of consequences after being identified, he stated, “They should be. If they break the law, you should be worried; it’s that simple,” adding: “We will protect law enforcement, we will make sure they have the security and safety to do their jobs.”

Patel also stressed that the FBI will actively protect civilians and their First and Second Amendment rights.

Some of the contents of the Signal chats were released by journalist Cam Higby over the weekend, including links to manuals on tactics to disrupt federal agents, what appears to be a database of vehicle plates supposedly linked to ICE agents, and a link to donate money. At least one local Democrat official, State Representative Alex Falconer, has admitted to being part of certain Signal chats, describing them as a “resistance network.”

The leaks come alongside violent attacks on federal agents in Minnesota, including an incident on January 25 in which far-left activists laid siege to a hotel housing federal agents. At least one agent was bloodied before multiple arrests of agitators occurred.

Leaked Chats Expose Elected Democrat Coordinating Anti-ICE ‘Resistance’.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Far-left extremists are reportedly coordinating actions against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agents using the encrypted messaging app Signal, including at least one elected official.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Far-left extremist activists, Minnesota State Representative Alex Falconer (D), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and other federal agencies.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Falconer admitted to being part of the chats last month, and journalist Cam Higby exposed their contents over the weekend on X (formerly Twitter).

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “We’ve got a couple of groups on the app Signal that we would love for you to join, whether or not you want to be part of the resistance network—I fully understand that you may not be comfortable with that.” – Rep. Alex Falconer

🎯IMPACT: The content of the chats reveals a deep coordination of anti-ICE activities in Minnesota and connections to Democratic elected officials.

IN FULL

Chats on the encrypted messaging app Signal are allegedly being used to coordinate sometimes violent anti-ICE protestors, with one Democrat official admitting last month to being involved. Minnesota State Representative Alex Falconer (D) stated that he was part of several Signal chats he described as part of the “resistance network.”

“We’ve got a couple of groups on the app Signal that we would love for you to join, whether or not you want to be part of the resistance network—I fully understand that you may not be comfortable with that,” he said, calling for people to report suspicious vehicles or anyone being detained.

“Anything small, large—we are here for you, and we will stand with you. So please do not hesitate to reach out, reach out for the information to join these groups so that we can all work together to protect one another,” Falconer added.

The admission comes amid reports by journalist Cam Higby on X, who claims to have infiltrated anti-ICE Signal chats which track ICE agents’ vehicles, noting plate numbers and intersections where suspected ICE vehicles have been seen to disrupt their immigration enforcement activities in Minneapolis more effectively.

Higby claims that several people tied to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) are present in the chats, but has not been able to verify their identities definitively. There is also no current evidence showing that Rep. Falconer is part of the specific chats highlighted by Higby.

Higby claims that some of the chats also offer resources for those wishing to disrupt the activities of federal agents, including a “Patrol Manual,” a database of “ICE Plates,” a link to “Community Tactics,” and what appears to be a link to send money for “mutual aid.”

Recent actions have shown a high level of coordination among anti-ICE protesters, including last week, when a U-Haul distributed shields and gear to activists at the Whipple Federal Building. “Moments ago, a group of agitators, a U-Haul van filled with shields… and gear decided to come over here to the Whipple building and block traffic. They are currently trying to impede us from getting out of the building and going to do our mission,” Marcos Charles, Acting Executive Associate Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, said at the time.

Last week also saw the arrest of several anti-ICE activists who led the coordinated storming of a church in St. Paul on January 18.

GET THE FACTS: Here’s Who ICE is Arresting and the Left is Protecting in Minnesota.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Homeland Security’s Operation Metro Surge and wider immigration enforcement effort in Minnesota has swept up many criminal illegal aliens, including killers and child molesters.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, criminal illegals, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D), and anti-ICE activists.

📍WHEN & WHERE: January 2026, Minnesota.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Many of these public safety threats were released from Minnesota jails. We are calling on Governor Walz and Mayor Frey to honor the more than 1,360 detainers of the illegal aliens in Minnesota jails.” – Tricia McLaughlin

🎯IMPACT: The criminal histories of many migrants being arrested in Minnesota prove that they represent a clear and present danger to the American public, despite state Democrats’ claims that ICE is not needed in the state.

IN FULL

Many of the illegal immigrants detained in Minnesota, in the face of fierce resistance from Democrats and anti-ICE activists, are criminals with convictions for offenses including homicide, child rape, and drug trafficking. The National Pulse has found many examples of dangerous offenders who are in the U.S. despite having been issued final deportation orders as long ago as the 1990s:

Kou Lor: Subject to a final order of removal since 1996.

Four-time deportee Carlos Flores Miguel is an MS-13 gang member and convicted sex offender, whose record includes assaulting federal law enforcement.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has said of the migrants being arrested in Minnesota, “Many of these public safety threats were released from Minnesota jails. We are calling on Governor [Tim] Walz and [Minneapolis] Mayor [Jacob] Frey to honor the more than 1,360 detainers of the illegal aliens in Minnesota jails.”

Nevertheless, state Democrats, including Walz and Frey, have argued the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) action in Minnesota is “a campaign of organized brutality against the people of Minnesota by our own federal government” that is making residents less safe.

Walz characterized ICE agents, whom he has previously compared to the Gestapo, as “going door to door, ordering people to point out where their neighbors of color live,” and “kidnapping innocent people with no warning and no due process.” Meanwhile, Frey has publicly called on ICE to “Get the f**k out of Minneapolis.”

Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith have also attacked ICE, with the former saying, “We need ICE out of Minnesota, they are not making us more safe,” and the latter saying, “Get the f**k out of my town, leave us alone, you are making us less safe, and you need to leave.”

Criminal Illegal Who Became School Superintendent Pleads Guilty to Federal Crimes.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Ian Andre Roberts, an illegal immigrant and former Des Moines Public Schools superintendent, pleaded guilty to federal charges of making false statements to gain employment and illegally possessing a firearm.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Ian Andre Roberts, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and federal prosecutors.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Roberts was arrested in September 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa; pleaded guilty on January 22, 2026; and will be sentenced on May 26, 2026.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Roberts falsely stated that he was a United States citizen on employment paperwork related to his position at the Des Moines Public Schools in June 2023.” – Department of Justice

🎯IMPACT: Roberts faces up to 20 years in federal prison, highlighting failures in vetting processes for key public roles.

IN FULL

Dr. Ian Andre Roberts, an illegal immigrant from Guyana with a history of weapons-related charges who served as the Des Moines, Iowa, Public Schools superintendent, pleaded guilty on Thursday to federal charges of making false statements to gain employment in the United States and illegally possessing a firearm. The Guyana national was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents last September following an immigration judge issuing a final deportation order in May 2024.

The National Pulse previously reported that during the September arrest, Roberts reportedly fled in his vehicle when ICE agents revealed their identity, leading to a chase that ended with him abandoning his car and hiding in nearby shrubbery. He was eventually located and taken into custody with the assistance of an Iowa State Police K9 unit. At the time, ICE agents found $3,000 in cash, a hunting knife, and a loaded handgun in his city government-issued vehicle.

Shockingly, Roberts—at the time of both his deportation order and subsequent arrest—was serving as superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools system, a position he had held since July 2023. The school board had previously praised him for his focus on “instructional excellence, diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation in education.” He was also a registered Democrat voter, despite non-citizens being banned—on paper—from voting.

Federal prosecutors charged Roberts with making false statements to gain employment and being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Roberts falsely claimed U.S. citizenship on employment paperwork in June 2023. Additionally, on the day of his arrest, Roberts knowingly possessed a loaded Glock pistol in his vehicle and three additional firearms at his residence.

Roberts’ criminal history includes charges for narcotics possession, forgery, reckless driving, and multiple firearm-related offenses spanning decades. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 26, 2026, and faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
