Asylum Seeker Plows Car Through Munich Crowd Before Vance, Rubio Conference.

On Thursday, a vehicle driven by an Afghan asylum seeker collided with pedestrians in Munich, Germany, injuring at least 28, according to local police. Children are among the injured, with photographs from the scene of the crash showing a baby’s stroller smashed on the ground. The suspected attack occurred a day before a significant security conference was set to attract global leaders, including U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The driver, known to authorities for previous drug and theft offenses, has been taken into police custody and is no longer considered a threat. German media reports his name as Farhad N., 24, and that he was in the country because the authorities decided to tolerate his presence despite having handed him a deportation order.

The incident precedes the Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering of international politicians and defense officials planned to start on Friday. Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio are scheduled to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with other U.S. partners at the conference, following one-on-one phone calls between President Donald J. Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday.

In December, a Saudi migrant drove a car through a packed Christmas market in Magdeburg, killing five, including a young boy, and injuring hundreds.

One-Fifth of Migrants Turned Away After German Border Crackdown Are Ukrainian.

Government data shows nearly one-fifth of those being rejected at Germany’s newly strengthened borders are Ukrainians. Despite their status as refugees fleeing Russia’s invasion, Ukrainians—who are supposed to enjoy protection and temporary residence across the European Union—comprise 19.1 percent of those denied entry since August 2023, trailing only Syrians at 19.8 percent.

Since October 2023, Germany has reinstated checks at its borders with Poland, Czechia, and Switzerland, adding to existing controls at the Austrian border. By last September, the remaining borders were similarly locked down—undermining the borderless Schengen Area that covers most of the EU, and the Free Movement migration regime which forms a core “pillar” of the bloc.

Around 45,000 people were turned away in 2024 alone, compared to 35,618 the previous year, even as illegal arrivals reportedly dropped. Reports suggest that the reason Ukrainians are so prevalent among those turned away appears to be related to “asylum shopping”—that is, the Ukrainians in question have already been granted asylum in another EU country, but they are seeking to relocate to Germany to exploit its more generous welfare system. The German interior ministry confirmed to Euractiv on Tuesday that such unauthorized moves are a key reason for the rejections.

The Christian Democrats, formerly led by Angela Merkel and expected to win Germany’s upcoming federal elections, have pledged to slash government handouts, arguing they discourage people from working and attract opportunistic migrants.

The figures on the German border situation emerge as U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance arrives in the country for the Munich Security Conference, where immigration is likely to be discussed alongside terrorism, the Ukraine war, and other national security issues.

BREAKING: Federal Judge Reinstates President Trump’s Buyout Offer to Federal Workers.

U.S. District Court Judge George O’Toole has reinstated President Donald J. Trump’s buyout offer to federal workers under the “Fork in the Road” deferred resignation program. The judge ruled the government unions who filed a lawsuit seeking to block the program lack legal standing and that his court lacks the judicial jurisdiction to even rule on the matter.

Last week, Judge O’Toole delayed the deadline for federal workers to accept the buyout offer, originally slated for February 6 at 11:59 PM, until he could hear arguments from both the plaintiffs and the Trump administration on the matter. The “Fork in the Road” deferred resignation program offers government employees eight months of pay and benefits in exchange for their voluntary resignation at a preset date in the Fall of 2025.

“The plaintiffs here are not directly impacted by the directive. Instead, they allege that the directive subjects them to upstream effects including a diversion of resources to answer members’ questions about the directive, a potential loss of membership, and possible reputational harm,” Judge O’Toole wrote in his decision. He continued: ” The unions do not have the required direct stake in the Fork Directive, but are challenging a policy that affects others, specifically executive branch employees. This is not sufficient.”

In addition, addressing the court’s legal jurisdiction, Judge O’Toole wrote: “Second, this Court lacks subject matter jurisdiction to consider the plaintiffs’ pleaded claims. While not binding on this Court, the decision in Am. Fed’n of Gov’t Emps., AFL-CIO v. Trump (‘AFGE’) is instructive. 929 F.3d 748 (D.C. Cir. 2019)… The two APA claims alleged in this case are the type of challenges Congress intended for review within the statutory scheme, which provides for ‘administrative and judicial review.'”

An estimated 65,000 federal employees have already accepted the buyout.

BREAKING: AG Bondi Files Charges Against New York Gov Hochul, New York AG James.

President Donald J. Trump’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi, has announced charges against New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), dubbed the “Queen of Lawfare” by War Room host Stephen K. Bannon on Tuesday. Mark J. F. Schroeder, the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), has also been charged. The charges center on the Democrats’ alleged failure to enforce immigration laws in the state, resulting in American citizens being victimized by illegal aliens.

“This is a new DOJ. We are taking steps to protect American citizens,” Bondi announced, alongside “angel moms” whose children were murdered by illegal immigrants. Bondi is taking particular issue with so-called “green light laws” requiring illegals to be “tipped off” if the federal authorities request their details.

Veteran Democrat Leader Convicted in Corruption Trial.

Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan (D) faced a mixed verdict in his high-profile corruption trial this week. Madigan, a Democrat who previously led the Illinois House for over three decades, was convicted on 10 counts, acquitted of seven, and jurors could not reach a decision on six other charges. The trial, centered on bribery and racketeering accusations, came after more than ten days of jury deliberation.

The case against Madigan, dubbed the “Velvet Hammer” for his influential yet low-key leadership style, relied heavily on secret recordings by a former Chicago alderman turned Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informant. In a surprising move, Madigan took the stand, denying all allegations.

Madigan’s charges were rooted in a 23-count indictment accusing him of using his political influence to pass legislation benefiting utility companies in exchange for kickbacks and favors. Federal prosecutors presented various forms of evidence, including recordings and transcripts, to illustrate Madigan’s activities, which reportedly involved blurred lines between his political and legal endeavors as an attorney.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Julia Schwartz described Madigan’s actions during the trial’s closing arguments as an abuse of his substantial power. The trial featured testimony from over 60 witnesses, showcasing Madigan’s operations, which often occurred in meetings held at his downtown law office.

Madigan, who retired from politics in 2021 ahead of his indictment, is said to have manipulated legislative maps and directed campaign funds throughout his tenure. Significantly, the trial also involved Michael McClain, Madigan’s close confidant and former state legislator. However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict on the charges against McClain.

Mexico Authorizes Entry of U.S. Special Forces.

Mexico is making further overtures to avert President Donald J. Trump’s imposition of tariffs on exports to America. In  their latest move, at President Claudia Sheibaum’s urging, the Mexican Senate approved on Tuesday the entry of a U.S. Special Forces group into the country, ostensibly to train Mexico’s marines as part of the “Strengthening the Capacity of the Special Operations Forces of the Navy” program.

The training arrangement—which was approved by a unanimous vote—will see a contingent of U.S. military personnel serving as advisors and trainers for Mexico’s marine forces, with a special focus on combating the country’s drug cartels. A similar agreement was approved during the six-year term of Mexican President López Obrador, which saw 11 U.S. military personnel enter Mexico to oversee marine training.

Upon final approval by Mexico’s Ministry of the Interior and the Board of Directors of the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union, the U.S. military personnel will oversee training exercises from February 17 to March 28, 2025.

“With the authorization of that legislative body, a delegation made up of 10 members of the Seventh Special Forces Group of the United States of America would enter the national territory, which will carry the weapons, ammunition, material, and special equipment necessary for joint combined training,” President Sheinbaum said. The training will primarily focus on amphibious assaults, aquatic combat, and conventional and unconventional combat tactics.

The move comes as President Trump has increased pressure on both Mexico and Canada to crack down on illegal drug trafficking into the United States. Earlier this month, Trump announced and then paused the imposition of 25 percent tariffs on exports from America’s northern and southern neighbors after both countries indicated they would undertake new measures to curb the flow of illicit drugs.

U.S. Will Not Send Troops to Ukraine to Enforce Ceasefire: Hegseth.

Pete Hegseth, the newly appointed U.S. Secretary of Defense under President Donald J. Trump, has confirmed that American forces will not be part of any potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine following a ceasefire agreement. Addressing allied representatives in Brussels, Belgium, he suggested that European nations should lead in securing the continent.

During the NATO and allied meeting, Hegseth also stated that expecting Ukraine to revert to its pre-2014 territorial boundaries is “unrealistic.” He dismissed the notion of Ukraine joining NATO as a means of ensuring its security, advising against NATO involvement in a peacekeeping role. Instead, he proposed that European and non-NATO troops might deploy as part of a non-NATO mission, stressing the importance of international oversight on any line of contact.

Hegseth also highlighted that all NATO allies should raise their defense spending to five percent of GDP. He emphasized the need for Europe to assume greater responsibility for its own security.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded entry into NATO, threatening to acquire nuclear weapons if not allowed into the alliance.

The comments from Hegseth came after Zelensky called for NATO member states, including the United States, to deploy troops to Ukraine to deter any future Russian action against his country. “It can’t be without the United States… Nobody will risk without the United States,” Zelensky complained at a meeting of the globalist World Economic Forum (WEF) last month.

Trump Has Deported Nearly 200 Dangerous Illegals to Venezuela This Week.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced during Wednesday’s press briefing that President Donald J. Trump‘s policy of mass deportating illegal immigrants is continuing apace. This week already, according to Leavitt, 190 illegal immigrants from Venezuela have been returned directly to their home country on two deportation flights.

“On another important matter this week, illegal alien criminals continue to be arrested and sent home as part of the ongoing mass deportation effort of the Trump administration,” Leavitt stated during the White House press briefing. She continued: “Just this week, two planes—with 190 Venezuelan illegal aliens—arrived in the Venezuelan capital from Fort Bliss, Texas.”

She then provided examples of “some of the criminal illegal aliens who were arrested in the country this past week,” including “a citizen of Nigeria who had been convicted of money laundering,” a “citizen of Mexico who had been convicted of assault, and two more citizens convicted of aggravated assault.

The Trump administration is arranging for migrants who cannot be deported directly to their home countries to instead by removed to Guatemala or, in the case of criminals, El Salvador, or detained in Guantanamo Bay.

President Trump authorized the beginning of the mass deportation program—spearheaded by border czar Tom Homan—almost immediately after taking the Oath of Office on January 20 of this year. However, while raids led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continue, interference by open borders advocates, George Soros-controlled media companies, and even employees of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has resulted in illegal immigrants being tipped off to pending raids in several instances.

Subsequently, The National Pulse reported on Tuesday that Homan confirmed an individual connected to the FBI was the source of a leak that tipped off media and illegal immigrant gang members to an ICE raid in Los Angeles.

Trump DHS Has Recovered All $59m Given to Migrant Hotels by FEMA.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), led by Secretary Kristi Noem, has recovered all $59 million funneled by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to luxury hotels hosting migrants in defiance of an executive order from President Donald J. Trump. “Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels,” the DHS said in a statement. “There will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people.”

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) identified the unauthorized payments, with DOGE chief Elon Musk alleging they “violated the law… in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order.” Subsequently, the DHS announced that four government employees had been fired over the payments.

Following the scandal, President Trump branded FEMA a “disaster” and said it should be “terminated,” recalling its poor performance after hurricanes struck the United States in late 2024. FEMA workers in Florida were found to be deliberately skipping homes belonging to Trump supporters when providing assistance. At the same time, FEMA workers in North Carolina blocked or seized aid from private entities and declined to help certain disaster victims, claiming they felt “threatened” by them.

Trump Says Putin Has Agreed to ‘Immediately’ Begin Negotiations to End Ukraine War.

President Donald J. Trump says President Vladimir Putin has agreed to begin negotiations to end the war in Ukraine “immediately,” following what he described as a “lengthy and highly productive phone call” with the Russian leader. President Trump announced on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday that an agreement has been struck to “work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations” to stop “the millions of deaths taking place” in the conflict.

“We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now,” Trump wrote. He added that he is dispatching “Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead the negotiations which, I feel strongly, will be successful.”

Additionally, Trump indicates that he intends to make an official visit to Russia and that Putin has agreed to make an official state visit to the United States as well.

COMMON SENSE.

The pair are said to have reflected on their time as allies during the Second World War, when Russia—then the leading socialist republic within the Soviet Union—while “remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we, likewise, lost so many!”

“We each talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together… President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of, ‘COMMON SENSE.’ We both believe very strongly in it,” the America First leader said.

During his inaugural address, President Trump vowed that his “proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and a unifier.”

In addition to Ukraine, Trump, and Putin also “the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, [and] the power of the Dollar”—with Trump previously threatening crippling sanctions should the ‘BRICS’ alliance that includes Russia attempt to launch a currency rivaling the U.S. dollar for global supremacy.
