CNN Will Lay Off Hundreds of Employees as Money and Viewership Struggles Continue.

Corporate media network CNN is set to lay off hundreds of its employees as it continues to lose viewers and struggle financially. The move comes as the cable news channel aims to overhaul its prime-time programming lineup and transform its image in the early days of the second President Donald J. Trump administration.

The layoffs are likely to impact production staff, as CNN is believed to be moving to cut programming costs and consolidate its various news divisions first. Additionally, several of its shows based in New York City and Washington, D.C., will likely be moved to its headquarters in Atlanta, reducing the network’s overhead in the high-cost cities. If the initial changes are effective, CNN will likely cut its expensive on-air “talent” further.

Since taking over the network in the summer of 2023, CNN CEO Mark Thompson has initiated multiple attempts to reinvent the corporate media outlet. Under Thompson, CNN has already undergone several rounds of layoffs and shuttered the opinion section of its website. Additionally, several of the network’s longtime hosts and correspondents have either headed for or been pushed to the exits as Thompson slashed programming budgets.

The National Pulse previously reported CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins will return to her previous role as Chief White House Correspondent while continuing to host her show, The Source—a move largely seen as a cost-saving measure. Whether the changes will reverse CNN’s ratings collapse remains to be seen. The 2024 presidential election cycle saw the network hit an all-time low in prime-time viewer ratings.

Last week, CNN was hit with a major financial penalty due to a defamation lawsuit, further worsening the network’s financial position.

Border Czar Homan Announces Over 300 Arrests of Illegals Wanted for Murder, Child Rape.

President Donald J. Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, reports that within just 24 hours, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) has arrested over 300 illegals for crimes ranging from murder to child abuse. “Just yesterday, in the last 24 hours, ICE arrested over 308 serious criminals. Some of them were murderers, some of them were rapists, some of them raped a child, some of them sexually assaulted a child,” he said.

Homan revealed the arrest figure in an interview, where he also stressed that someone does not have to commit a serious crime to be arrested by ICE. “If you’re in the country illegally, ICE can visit you,” Trump’s border czar warned, though he confirmed the agency is concentrating on “the worst first.”

Homan announced raids had begun on Tuesday, January 21, just a day after President Trump was sworn into office.

ICE teams are out there as of today,” Homan said, adding, “We gave them a direction to prioritize public safety threats; they’re what we’re looking for. So, we’re working up the target list.”

President Trump has promised to remove criminal migrants en masse. A memo issued by the America First leader further states that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will prosecute those who try to interfere with or resist deportation actions.

“The U.S. Attorney’s Offices and litigating components of the Department of Justice shall investigate incidents involving any such misconduct for potential prosecution,” the memo states.

Many illegals cross the border from Mexico. Despite her far-left politics, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said last month that her country would accept migrants deported from the USA.

BREAKING: Trump Signs Executive Order Suspending Physical Entry of Immigrants at Southern Border.

President Donald J. Trump has signed an executive order suspending the physical entry of immigrants through designated ports of entry at the U.S. southern border. The order instructs the authorities to “immediately” turn back or eject anyone entering the country illegally.

“Through the exercise of his authority under the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Constitution of the United States, President Trump is authorizing and directing the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of State to take all necessary action to immediately repel, repatriate, and remove illegal aliens across the southern border of the United States,” the order, posted to the White House website on Wednesday reads. It continues: “Through the exercise of his authority, President Trump has further restricted access to the provisions of the immigration laws that would enable any illegal alien involved in an invasion across the southern border of the United States to remain in the United States, such as asylum.”

Under the Biden-Harris government, asylum and parole programs were used to release hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into the United States each year, ballooning the number of unlawful foreign residents in the country into the tens of millions. Throughtout the 2024 presidential campaign, President Trump pledged to close the border and enact mass deportations to end the illegal immigration crisis.

The National Pulse reported on Tuesday on Trump immigration czar Tom Homan confirming U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids are already underway, with illegal immigrants with criminal records or deemed potential threats to public safety being a priority.

Bannon’s NY Trial Delayed to Early March.

Judge April Newbauer has allowed a seven-day delay in the state case of War Room host Stephen K. Bannon in New York. Bannon, accused of defrauding supporters of the ‘We Build the Wall’ initiative, had been scheduled to stand trial February 25, but this has now been adjourned to March 4.

Discussing the possibility of a delay, Newbauer initially grilled Bannon on the fact he has changed his legal team. Previously, the court accused Bannon of “trying to make a substitution of counsel for the purpose of delay.” However, the former Chief Strategist to the first Trump administration argued that, having been subject to a long-running, politically motivated lawfare campaign, he needs lawyers who are “more aggressive” and willing to “use every tool in the tool box.”

Bannon’s new lawyer, Arthur Aidala, insisted he would never allow himself to be used as a tool to delay a trial, and that his intent was to clear his client’s name. He said he would like the trial to be delayed to March 24 or 25, to give him more time to comb through “terrabytes” of new prosecution evidence.

Newbauer said that, already having a 2021 case to try, said she would allow an adjournment to March 4, and that a Friday deadline for responding to motions would be extended to Tuesday, February 28.

Trump Bans DEI for Federal Government, Federal Contractors.

President Donald J. Trump has issued an executive order aimed at dismantling what he describes as “dangerous, demeaning, and immoral race- and sex-based preferences under the guise of so-called ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI) or ‘diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility’ (DEIA) that can violate the civil-rights laws of this Nation.” Issued on Tuesday, the order states, “Illegal DEI and DEIA policies not only violate the text and spirit of our longstanding Federal civil-rights laws, they also undermine our national unity, as they deny, discredit, and undermine the traditional American values of hard work, excellence, and individual achievement in favor of an unlawful, corrosive, and pernicious identity-based spoils system.”

The order instructs “all executive departments and agencies…to terminate all discriminatory and illegal preferences, mandates, policies, programs, activities, guidance, regulations, enforcement actions, consent orders, and requirements.”

It also calls for a review and overhaul of federal contracting processes to block companies implementing diversity quotas, affirmative action mandates, and other DEI-style policies, stating: “[T]he employment, procurement, and contracting practices of Federal contractors and subcontractors shall not consider race, color, sex, sexual preference, religion, or national origin in ways that violate the Nation’s civil rights laws,” and every contract or grant award shall include a term requiring the recipient “to certify that it does not operate any programs promoting DEI that violate any applicable Federal anti-discrimination laws.”

References to “DEI and DEIA principles” must be excised from “all Government-wide processes, directives, and guidance.” President Trump is also tasking the Attorney General with providing a strategic enforcement plan within 120 days, targeting “the most egregious and discriminatory DEI practitioners” in the private sector.

NY Times Defends Cartels, Claims Trump’s Foreign Terrorist Designation Will Hurt Economy.

The New York Times is unwittingly exposing that the Democratic Party and their corporate media allies adopted a policy of toleration towards Mexican drug cartels—violent criminal organizations that control large swaths of Mexico’s private and public institutions and territory. According to the liberal newspaper, President Donald J. Trump’s recent executive order designating the cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs)—which opens them to U.S. military action and severe economic sanctions—is a more significant threat to the American economy than to the criminal groups operating in Mexico and the U.S.

“President Trump’s executive order designating Mexican cartels and other criminal organizations as foreign terrorists could force some American companies to forgo doing business in Mexico rather than risk U.S. sanctions, according to former government officials and analysts—an outcome that could have a major effect on both countries given their deep economic interdependence,” the New York Times claims. “Even more complicated, these criminal networks have extended their operations far beyond drug trafficking and human smuggling. They are now embedded in a wide swath of the legal economy, from avocado farming to the country’s billion-dollar tourism industry, making it hard to be absolutely sure that American companies are isolated from cartel activities.”

The story is a stark admission by the Democratic Party-aligned corporate media outlet that the U.S. political elite under the Biden-Harris government adopted a stance of toleration and complacency towards the Mexican drug cartels. For Wall Street and Washington, D.C., the potential of minor disruptions to foreign trade and the U.S. economy was not worth the American and Mexican lives that are lost every year to cartel violence and the illegal drug trade.

CARTELS AND THE ECONOMY.

While it is true that the Mexican cartels have extensive ties to key industries in Mexico, part of the justification for the Trump White House’s decision is that it opens a wide array of economic and military options to dismantle the criminal organizations. Additionally, the cessation of business relations between U.S. companies and cartel fronts in Mexico is critical in ending the violent criminal gangs’ access to funding and resources.

The cartels are heavily reliant on their American business partners as avenues for laundering their ill-gotten gains and multiplying their revenue in U.S. markets. Estimates for the cartels’ total revenue range anywhere between $19 billion and $500 billion annually—on the high end, that is just under two percent of the overall U.S. annual GDP. Although economic sanctions would impact more than just cartel revenue and investments in Mexican-U.S. trade, any disruption would still likely be minimal, with exports from other trade partners filling the void.

The National Pulse reported on Tuesday that President Trump intends to begin enacting broad, 25 percent tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods in February. The move is meant to force America’s neighbors to the negotiating table on trade imbalances and push both countries to crack down on the movement of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs into the U.S.

Trump DOJ Will Prosecute State and Local Officials Who Resist Immigration Enforcement Actions.

A new memo issued by President Donald J. Trump‘s Department of Justice (DOJ) is putting state and local officials on notice who intend to interfere, resist, or hamper federal immigration enforcement actions. Authored by acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, the document outlines the DOJ’s position that state and local sanctuary laws do not shield government officials from prosecution for interfering in federal actions.

Additionally, the Trump DOJ memo states that federal prosecutors who fail to enforce United States immigration laws will be referred to the department for investigation and potential prosecution. The DOJ’s civil division is also directed to identify so-called “sanctuary” laws that “threaten to impede” federal immigration enforcement actions and prepare court challenges to the state and local statutes.

“Federal law prohibits state and local actors from resisting, obstructing and otherwise failing to comply with lawful immigration-related commands and requests,” Bove’s memo reads. It continues: “The U.S. Attorney’s Offices and litigating components of the Department of Justice shall investigate incidents involving any such misconduct for potential prosecution.”

Promises Kept: Trump Pardons Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht.

President Donald J. Trump has issued a “full and unconditional pardon” for Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the Silk Road online marketplace. Trump had previously pledged to free Ulbricht during a May 2024 speech at the Libertarian Party’s National Convention, extending the party’s supporters “a hand of friendship to ask for your partnership to defeat communism, defeat Marxism, and defeat crooked Joe Biden, who is destroying our country.”

“I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross,” Trump announced on his Truth Social platform early Wednesday morning.

“The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me. He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years,” he said, adding: “Ridiculous!”

Silk Road, launched by Ulbricht in 2011, used Bitcoin for anonymous exchanges, with the authorities linking the site to drug purchases. Libertarians have long regarded Ulbricht’s conviction as an example of excessive government intervention against transactions between willing buyers and willing sellers. Angela McArdle, Chairwoman of the Libertarian National Committee, lauded Trump’s decision to release Ulbricht, describing him as having been a “libertarian political prisoner for more than a decade.”

Carrot and Stick: Trump Offers Warm Words to Russian People, But Warns of Economic War Unless a Peace Deal Is Done ‘Soon.’

President Donald J. Trump has expressed his love and admiration for the Russian people but warned he wants a peace agreement ending the “ridiculous” war in Ukraine soon. He has made it clear that there will be a significant escalation of the economic warfare against Russia unless progress on peace is made.

“I’m not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people, and always had a very good relationship with President Putin – and this despite the Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” President Trump said in a statement published on his Truth Social platform.

“We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60,000,000 lives in the process,” he continued—referencing a point of pride and sometimes irritation for the Russian people, who believe their role in Second World War is often overlooked.

“All of that being said, I’m going to do Russia, whose Economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE,” Trump continued. “If we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries,” he warned.

“Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL.’ NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!”

Economic action against Russia by Joe Biden and other Western leaders has so far proved ineffective. Trade statistics for former Soviet Socialist Republics in Central Asia strongly suggest exports to Russia are being routed through them, and much of the Russian energy once sold to Europe is now finding new markets in the likes of China and India.

However, President Trump’s reference to tariffs and sanctions on “various other participating countries” besides Russia suggests he may be contemplating a similar approach to the one used against Iran during his first term, with Russia’s trade partners as well as Russia itself being targeted. This strategy was highly effective against Iran, rapidly isolating it internationally.

Afghan Migrant Murders Two, Including Toddler, in Stabbing Spree.

Police have arrested an Afghan migrant after a stabbing spree left a two-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man dead, with several others also injured in the attack in Aschaffenburg, Germany. The attack took place Wednesday, January 22, at a park in the center of the Bavarian town.

Enamullah O., a 28-year-old from Afghanistan, was arrested by police at the scene. He is believed to live in a local shelter for asylum seekers. Reports suggest the suspect had followed the daycare group of five young children before he struck.

Law enforcement is so far unwilling to offer a possible motive for the attack. Islamist Axel Rudakubana, the son of two Rwandan migrants, murdered three young girls and wounded several others at a dance class in Southport, England, last year—and a Syrian refugee stabbed multiple babies and toddlers and two adults at a park in Annecy, France, in 2023.

THE NEW NORMAL?

The Aschaffenburg attack comes after a wave of similar attacks by migrants in Germany in recent years. In 2024 alone, there were several high-profile stabbings by migrants, leaving multiple dead. In June, a 27-year-old Afghan migrant was shot dead in a town about 80 miles outside Berlin after going on a stabbing spree amid soccer fans from Germany and Scotland. Just a month prior, in May, another Afghan stabbed a German police officer to death at an anti-Islamization rally in Mannheim, wounding several others. Heinrich Koch, a 62-year-old local council candidate for the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, was stabbed in the same city just weeks later when he confronted a man tearing down election posters.

The most deadly attack took place in the city of Solingen, where a failed Syrian asylum seeker stabbed three people to death at a “festival of diversity.” He had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist group.
