Is Doug Emhoff High!? His Latest Claim Suggests So.

Doug Emhoff, the husband of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, is telling major party donors that he believes his wife can win Florida in November. Speaking at a fundraiser in Manhattan on Wednesday evening, Emhoff told attendees that Florida is a potential battleground state and one Democrats should focus on.

“The map is wide open, and we need the money to compete in seven and possibly eight states. I was just in Florida at the Villages and it was wild,” Emhoff said. “It was way more people than we thought, and there was a lot of excitement, and we’re going to see what we can do down in Florida.”

Despite Democrats having secured two ballot initiatives aimed at driving turnout for the party—one expanding abortion and the other legalizing marijuana—polling and the 2022 midterm election results suggest the state remains far out of reach. Prior to Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, former President Donald J. Trump led the 81-year-old Democrat incumbent in the state by double digits despite the abortion ballot measure.

Meanwhile, the RealClearPolitics polling average currently has Trump leading in the state by six points over Kamala Harris. Another recent poll shows him leading by ten points.

During the 2022 midterm, the Florida Democratic Party faced a near-extinction-level event. Republicans in the state won most races in landslides and now control every state-wide office for the first time since the 19th-century Reconstruction period following the American Civil War. In the Florida House of Representatives and State Senate, Republicans captured a supermajority of seats.

Academic Research: ‘Non-Citizens Prefer Democrats, Swing Elections, Change Congress.’

Researchers writing in the peer-reviewed Electoral Studies journal in 2014 estimated that 6.4 percent of noncitizens voted in the 2008 election. The 2014 paper Do non-citizens Vote in U.S. Elections? notes that while there is a legal ban on noncitizens voting, “enforcement depends principally on disclosure of citizenship status at the time of voter registration.”

The study authors found that noncitizen voters favored Democratic Party candidates and voted in sufficient numbers to change the composition of both the Electoral College and Congress. In particular, they found that noncitizen voters “likely gave Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress.”

“We find that some non-citizens participate in U.S. elections, and that this participation has been large enough to change meaningful election outcomes including Electoral College votes, and Congressional elections,” researchers from the Department of Political Science at Old Dominion University and George Mason University wrote.

Earlier this year, The National Pulse reported that a federal investigation into noncitizen voters in North Carolina found that they were three times more likely to support Democrat candidates over Republican ones. Additionally, the investigators uncovered instances of local election officials knowingly registering noncitizens if they believed they would support Democratic Party candidates.

SAVE ACT.

Democratic lawmakers are opposing Republican efforts to improve election security through the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would enhance citizenship checks. Democrats argue that because there is a ban on noncitizen voting on paper, there are no issues. However, as things stand, federal voter registration forms only require individuals to affirm their citizenship by checking a box, so the process relies on a de facto honor system.

House Republicans are currently trying to tie the SAVE Act to a short-term funding resolution, but the Biden-Harris government has vowed to veto it if it passes the House and somehow survives the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Can Non-Citizens Register to Vote? This Evidence Says YES.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) appears to have clandestinely edited instructions on its government website in the past several days. The instructions suggested that noncitizens applying for an ID privilege card could register to vote when completing their application. Despite the language used in the instructions, Virginia state law prohibits noncitizens from participating in state elections, while U.S. law prohibits noncitizens from casting ballots in federal elections.

“You may complete these forms before or during your visit to DMV. Use your full legal name on the application. Abbreviations and nicknames will not be accepted. For your convenience, you also may apply to register to vote, change your voter registration address, or indicate your desire to become an organ donor when you apply for your ID privilege card,” the Virginia DMV website’s ‘Get an Identification Privilege Card’ page read until recently.

Notably, the same page clearly states that ID privilege cards are “…a non-driving ID credential for individuals who are non-U.S. citizens and cannot meet Virginia’s legal presence requirements, making them ineligible to receive a standard or REAL ID-compliant ID card in Virginia.”

Despite the Virginia DMV’s language suggesting that noncitizens can register to vote, the Virginia Department of Elections explicitly states a “Virginia Driver Privilege card (limited-duration license, permit or special identification card)” is not an accepted form of identification for election participation.

A SERIOUS CONCERN.

Noncitizen voters have become a serious concern heading into the 2024 election. The National Pulse has previously reported that data suggests a statistically significant number of noncitizens are casting ballots illegally in federal elections. Earlier this week it was revealed that a data entry error in Oregon allowed over 300 noncitizens to be placed on state voter rolls.

Meanwhile, murky legal language has allowed noncitizens in other states to register to vote with state-issued driver’s licenses.

Journalists Are Building a Monument to Themselves on the National Mall.

A design for a memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., ostensibly paying tribute to fallen journalists, has been unveiled. Backed by The Fallen Journalists Memorial Foundation, the project will cost $50 million, and the group has already raised $23 million privately. Barring any regulatory issues, the monument should be ready by 2028.

New monuments and memorials added to the National Mall and other federal properties in Washington, D.C., often undergo extensive regulatory reviews. The Fallen Journalists Memorial, however, appears to have received little scrutiny. Designed by John Ronan Architects, it is a garish glass stadium structure with a concrete floor, and the First Amendment etched into a glass slab in its center.

The architect claims the design evokes a classroom or press room. According to the Washingtonian magazine, the memorial consists of a “massive structure composed of numerous separate glass elements” that are “haphazard” in their placement, “indicating disconnected data points that come together to form a story.” The memorial will contain over 300 individual glass elements and, at a $50 million price tag, could have long-term upkeep costs given the construction materials.

“We started out with looking at ice cubes,” Ronan says of the design. “Journalism is about transparency, and the memorial needed to take up the themes of transparency and light.”

Whistleblower Says Fed Leading Assassination Probe Is ‘Vocally Anti-Trump.’

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent probing the assassination attempt against former President Donald J. Trump in Florida allegedly has a history of anti-Trump rhetoric. Last year, whistleblowers told Congress that Special Agent Jeffrey Veltri, who heads the Miami bureau leading the investigation, is “adamantly and vocally anti-Trump.”

“[FBI Director Christopher] Wray, [Deputy Director Paul] Abbate, and [Executive Assistant Director Jennifer] Moore wanted to ensure that Veltri appeared non-political, [so] Veltri was ordered to remove all of his Facebook and Social media posts that were anti-Trump,” the whistleblower told the House Judiciary Committee as Veltri was being promoted to head the Miami bureau—which covers the former president’s home. The whistleblower also says Veltri moved to suspend the security clearance of any agent he deemed to be a “right-wing radical.”

While the FBI denied these allegations as “demonstrably false” at the time, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expressing broader misgivings about the federal government handling the assassination probe.

“In my judgment, it’s not in the best interest of our state or our nation to have the same federal agencies that are seeking to prosecute Donald Trump leading this investigation,” said the America First leader’s former rival. In DeSantis’s estimation, assassination suspect Ryan Routh‘s “most serious, straightforward [alleged] offense” is attempted murder, which is a crime under state rather than federal law. State law enforcement has been directed to investigate accordingly.

Mystery Illness Blinds Rallygoers Who Sat Near Trump in Tuscon, Arizona.

Supporters of former President Donald J. Trump have been stricken with a mystery illness after attending a rally in Tuscon, Arizona. Multiple rallygoers who were seated behind the America First leader last Thursday were left with eye injuries, with one reporting that medical staff suspected she had been sprayed with something.

“As soon as we left and we stepped outside, my eyes were burning,” said rallygoer Mayra Rodriguez, speaking to local media. “The emergency room staff, from the triage nurse to the PA [Physicians Assistant], asked, ‘Are you sure you didn’t get sprayed with something? Your symptoms look like you got sprayed with something,'” she recalled. Investigators from News 4 Tucson said she was “nearly blind” when they spoke to her on Friday.

“It was all focused on my eyes; my eyes were red like hell, you know?” said another rallygoer, who asked to remain anonymous. His sister also reported eye issues, a runny nose, a flushed face, and a burning sensation on her neck.

“The Trump campaign has been collecting information,” a spokesman for the former president said of the incident, adding: “We remain committed to the countless patriots that attend our high-energy, high-impact rallies across the country.”

The U.S. Secret Service (USSS), which has allowed gunmen to come within a few hundred yards of President Trump in Florida and Pennsylvania in recent weeks, claims to have no knowledge of the situation or any potential threat to the GOP candidate.

REPORT: Border Rioters Released By Judge Included Over 100 Tren de Aragua Members.

At least a hundred members of the notorious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were released into the United States by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) after a Texas judge threw out their prosecutions earlier this year. The gang members were among the several hundred illegal immigrants who were arrested after the March 21 border riot, which overwhelmed Texas National Guard soldiers.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed yesterday that the gang members were arrested during the riot at the border at El Paso in March. However, Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta later dismissed all charges against 211 of the illegal immigrants involved in the incident after the El Paso District Attorney’s Office admitted it was not prepared to proceed with detention hearings. ICE subsequently released many of the rioters into the U.S.

The Texas Governor added that his state now considers the Tren de Aragua a terrorist organization and will crack down on their illegal activities with mandatory 10-year sentences for those found guilty of people trafficking and will create a new database of members of the gang as well.

A GROWING THREAT.

Part of the reason the gang members were able to get into the U.S. is likely due to Venezuela refusing to share information about their criminal pasts. National Border Patrol Council President for Texas Rio Grande Valley Chris Cabrera admitted identifying Tren de Aragua members was difficult as they have no recognizable markings or tattoos like gangs such as Ms-13.

Members of Tren de Aragua have been arrested for trying to take over apartment buildings while armed with rifles after footage spread on social media of the gang taking over and reportedly extorting the residents. The illegal immigrant murderer of Laken Riley is also linked to the gang through his brother, according to court documents.

Former President Donald J. Trump has also highlighted the presence of the gang in major U.S. cities, and even CNN has warned that the Biden-Harris regime has allowed the ruthless gang into the country thanks to open border policies.

Trump to Visit Catholic Shrine.

Former President Donald J. Trump is scheduled to visit one of the most important Catholic shrines for the Polish-American community on the same day as Polish President Andrzej Duda. Trump is scheduled to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, this weekend, likely on September 22.

Established in 1955, the shrine has a noted history of significant visitors. Polish Cardinal Karol Wojtyla, later known as Pope St. John Paul II, visited the site in 1969 and 1976. President Ronald Reagan also visited the Shrine, as did George H.W. Bush as a Republican presidential primary candidate in 1980.

Tradition holds that St. Luke the Evangelist painted the image of Our Lady of Czestochowa, and St. Helen found it in Jerusalem in the 4th century. The painting eventually found its way to Poland in 1382.

Trump’s decision to visit comes after his 2020 trip to the St. John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., which occurred shortly before he signed an executive order expanding international religious freedom support.

In a recent display of his affinity for the Catholic faith, Trump posted an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on his social media accounts. The post was intended to mark the Catholic feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. While Trump himself is not Catholic, his wife, Melania Trump, is openly Roman Catholic.

The former Republican President enjoys broad support from several Catholic organizations, particularly pro-life Catholics. Earlier this month, the Trump campaign announced the “Catholics for Trump” coalition, which is committed to religious liberty and family values.

Pope Francis, meanwhile, also weighed in on the upcoming election, calling for Catholics to pick the “lesser evil” between a candidate who kicks out migrants and one who “kills babies.”

Biden-Harris DOJ is Trying to Intimidate Election Officials from Cleaning Up Voter Roles.

The Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) is issuing new guidelines for state and local election officials regarding who can be removed from voter rolls. However, a former DOJ attorney says the move is tantamount to political intimidation and discourages election officials from effectively ensuring only eligible voters cast ballots.

“This is what I perceive as an attempt by the Department of Justice and Civil Rights Division to intimidate state and local jurisdictions and state and local election officials from doing their jobs,” said Gene Hamilton—a former attorney with the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security—in a recent interview. Hamilton, who now serves as the executive director and senior counsel for America First Legal, added: “What they’re trying to do is they’re trying to chill people from actually doing the very things that are common sense.”

LAST MINUTE GUIDANCE.

On September 9, the DOJ quietly released guidance directed at state and local election workers that emphasized the purging of “voting rolls must be accomplished in compliance with federal law and in a nondiscriminatory manner.” Prior to any election, states are supposed to review their lists of eligible voters, ensuring they’re up to date and any ineligible individuals are removed.

“Ensuring that every eligible voter is able to [vote] and have that vote counted is a critical aspect of sustaining a robust democracy, and it is a top priority for the Justice Department,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in a statement justifying the updated guidance. She added: “As we approach Election Day, it is important that states adhere to all aspects of federal law that safeguard the rights of eligible voters to remain on the active voter lists and to vote free from discrimination and intimidation.”

THREAT TO ELECTION INTEGRITY.

While the DOJ claims the guidance does not prohibit states from removing ineligible voters, including noncitizens or those who have committed voter fraud, Hamilton contends that it may still discourage states and local authorities from determining who is an eligible voter. The updated DOJ rules also bar states from removing voters from rolls within 90 days of an upcoming federal election.

In Georgia, it is estimated that as many as 47,000 noncitizens may be registered to vote after journalists revealed that 14 percent of the noncitizens they had spoken to claimed they were registered. The National Pulse reported earlier this year that 49 states are providing voter registration forms to noncitizens, who are overwhelmingly registered as Democrats.

Some states have taken action on the issue, with Texas removing a million ineligible voters from its rolls this year.

Will Upton contributed to this report.

Europe’s Open Borders Posse Panics as Members Bring Back Controls.

The European Union’s open borders regime is on the brink, as Germany, the EU’s leading member state, is reintroducing random checks along its entire border. So-called Free Movement is one of the main pillars of the bloc, with most EU members, including Germany, also being party to the Schengen agreement, which eliminates all internal border checks.

Germany initiated random checks at its borders on Monday. The country’s far-left coalition government, which is collapsing in polls and regional elections, is attempting to stem the illegal immigration and radical Islamist attacks the Schengen agreement facilitates, contributing to their plummeting popularity.

Recent include a deadly mass stabbing attack at a festival of diversity in Solingen, attributed to an Islamic State-aligned Syrian asylum seeker subject to a deportation order, and another attack in June involving an Afghan immigrant who attacked people at an anti-Islamization rally and killed a police officer.

Germany, the EU’s largest member by GDP, population, and geography, lies in the center of the EU and has borders with more EU members than any other country. Its non-participation in Schengen undermines the agreement as a whole.

Still, the unpopular Chancellor Olaf Scholz is intent on enforcing border controls amid the success of the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) in recent elections to the European Parliament and in the former East Germany.

The AfD is currently projected to win another election in Brandenburg on Sunday.
