This Week, Brazil Joined a New, Totalitarian Club of Nations Which Have Banned ‘X’.

Following Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes’ move to ban the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) the country joins a new club of totalitarian countries that have also prohibited the website. Brazil, a member of the BRICS economic alliance of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has entered a new “BRIC” club of themselves, Russia, Iran, and China, who have all banned or limited public access to X within their countries.

Also inside the new club of nations are even more nakedly totalitarian countries like Myanmar, formerly Burma, Venezuela, and North Korea.

Many X users in countries where the social media platform is banned or given limited access can use virtual private networks (VPNs) to circumvent the bans. In Brazil, however, such activity could cost users as much as R$50,000 ($8,882 USD) per day in fines under the new rules.

Judge de Moraes has also demanded that tech giants Google and Apple remove the X app from their mobile stores within the next five days.

ONE-MAN CRUSADE AGAINST X.

The move to ban X comes after months of conflict between the platform and Judge de Moraes, which reached the point that the platform’s owner, Elon Musk, ordered his staff to leave the country or laid them off. Musk went so far as to shut down their physical office over alleged arrest threats and censorship demands.

The Supreme Court and Musk have been battling over the banning of accounts labeled “digital militias” that were accused of spreading “fake news” and “hate” during former President Jair Bolsonaro’s government. Musk reacted to the ban on Friday afternoon, stating, “The oppressive regime in Brazil is so afraid of the people learning the truth that they will bankrupt anyone who tries.”

DOJ Watchdog Says The Biden-Harris FBI Is FAILING To Stop Child Abuse.

A troubling report authored by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz reveals a staggering lack of action by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) when addressing hands-on sex offenses against children. The Inspector General—which acts as a watchdog over DOJ operations—found “significant issues with the FBI’s response to serious allegations involving suspected child abuse: under the BidenHarris government.

“[O]ur audit revealed instances where FBI employees did not comply with relevant law or policy for (a) mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse, (b) victim services, (c) transferring incidents between field offices, and (d) responding to allegations of active and ongoing child sexual abuse within 24 hours,” Horowitz’s report states. The Inspector General adds: ” In addition, during the course of our work, we forwarded 42 incidents, 13 percent of the incidents we reviewed, to FBI headquarters because of concerns that led us to believe that the incident may require immediate attention.”

The Inspector General contends FBI employees have repeatedly failed to comply with mandatory reporting requirements. In almost half of the incidents investigated by Horowitz’s office, suspicions or evidence of child abuse were not reported to state or local law enforcement or social services.

Concerningly, the Inspector General accuses the FBI of failing to adopt or comply with new reporting standards regarding tip lines following its failures in the Larry Nassar investigation. Nassar served as the team doctor from 1996 to 2014 for the United States women’s national gymnastics team and was involved in what many consider to be the largest child sexual abuse scandal in sports history. It is believed Nassar sexually abused and assaulted over 265 young girls over nearly two decades.

Top Politician Boasts: ‘Palestinian-born Doctor Prioritized Me Due to My Ceasefire Vote.’

Jess Phillips, a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in Sir Keir Starmer‘s government and a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Labour Party, has described how Palestinian doctors rule the roost in Birmingham, England’s second city. She said she was given preferential treatment by one of them because she voted in favor of supporting a ceasefire in Gaza just weeks after the Hamas terror raids against Israel in October 2023, which killed around 1,200 people.

Phillips, tasked with “Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls” in Starmer‘s government—despite having trivialized mass sexual assaults by Muslim migrants in Cologne, Germany—said she had “seen better facilities, health facilities, in war zones, in developing countries” when she sought socialized medical care at a Birmingham emergency department recently. However, she was soon bumped to the front of the line.

“I got through because of who I am,” Phillips said, tacitly acknowledging that politicians do not have a clear idea of how the National Health Service (NHS) operates for ordinary citizens because they receive special treatment.

“Also, the doctor who saw me was Palestinian, as it turns out. Almost all the doctors in Birmingham seemed to be,” she continued. “He was sort of like, ‘I like you. You voted for a ceasefire.’ [Because of that] I got through quicker,” she boasted, seemingly not seeing an issue with foreign doctors allocating state healthcare based on patients’ positions on foreign wars.

Phillips previously told Richard Tice MP, of Nigel Farage’s Reform Party, to stop sharing footage of Muslim rioters in Birmingham and questioning why they were not being aggressively policed like white anti-mass immigration protesters. She appeared to justify the Muslim rioters’ actions, saying they believed “racists were coming to attack them.”

Trump’s Latest Move to Throw Out the NY Case: What Does It Mean?

Attorneys for former President Donald J. Trump are asking, for a second time, that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg‘s prosecution be removed to federal court. Their newest filing cites significant legal issues in the aftermath of the United States Supreme Court‘s presidential immunity ruling in Trump v. United States.

“This ‘zombie’ case should have been dismissed long ago,” write Trump‘s attorneys Todd Blanche and Emil Bove in the motion. “The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (‘DANY‘) violated the Presidential immunity doctrine in grand jury proceedings, and again at trial, by relying on evidence of President Trump’s official acts during his first term in Office.”

IMMUNITY RULING.

At the core of the Trump legal team’s filing is Bragg‘s reliance on testimony from Trump White House aide Hope Hicks—as well as emails and other documents submitted as evidence through her testimony.

The Supreme Court held in early July that former President Trump—and all U.S. presidents—are presumed to be immune from prosecution for official acts in office. Hicks’s testimony and documents entered into evidence by Bragg likely falls under this immunity, meaning they are inadmissible.

PREDICATE CRIME PROBLEM.

“The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that these types of violations threaten the structure of the federal government and the ability of future Presidents to carry out their vital duties in the way the Framers intended,” the removal filing reads.

Trump‘s attorneys also raise the issue of the predicate charges—also impacted by a recent Supreme Court ruling: “DANY’s flawed case is also preempted because their Indictment turned on the improper use of state law to try to retroactively police the 2016 Presidential election through non-unanimous jury findings.”

If successful, the case would be removed from the jurisdiction of New York Judge Juan Merchan and moved to federal court, where the charges against Trump could be quickly vacated and thrown out.

‘Vacuous,’ ‘Train Wreck,’ ‘Softer Than Ice Cream’ – World Weighs In On Harris-Walz CNN Interview.

American and international media outlets are offering their assessment of Kamala Harris‘s first sit-down interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, conducted by Dana Bash on the friendly network CNN, with support from running mate Tim Walz. Sympathizers could offer only muted support for her performance, describing it as “adequate” or “solid” while being forced to acknowledge she offered few policy details. More critical voices were harsher, saying she had “fumbled” an interview “softer than a scoop of ice cream.”

DAMNING WITH FAINT PRAISE.

The lack of praise dished out to Harris by those most eager to support her indicates how poorly the interview went. The left-wing Guardian spun the performance as “radically normal” rather than simply dull, suggesting it was a good thing that she “turned a much-hyped first interview as nominee into a soon-to-be-forgotten pit stop along the campaign trail.”

Michelle Cottle of the New York Times could only say the interview was a “solid first effort” that went “pretty well.” Fellow NYT columnist was more honest, also claiming Harris’s performance was “solid” but admitting she was evasive, “vague to the point of vacuous,” and “struggled to give straight answers to her shifting positions on fracking and border security.”

Even CNN acknowledges she was “elusive” and “declined to fully explain reversals on issues like immigration and energy.”

‘TRAIN WRECK.’

The Daily Mail led on remarks describing the interview as a “train wreck,” calling the conversation with Bash a “softball interview.” Like The Telegraph, the Mail noted how short the interview was, at only around 27 minutes, padded to roughly an hour by CNN interspersing it with clips of Harris campaigning.

The Mail said Harris “appeared nervous and hesitant in her responses which were branded ‘word salad’ by many on social media,” quoting Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod as admitting Harris had not “moved the ball forward that much.”

The Telegraph appeared astonished that Harris “managed to fumble even this cozy chat,” noting, “Viewers were left none the wiser about what sort of president she would be.”

‘SLIPPERY.’

The Times of London said the interview with Harris and Walz was “softer than a serving of President Biden’s favorite ice cream,” again noting how CNN had stretched out the conversation with “schmaltzy clips of the pair at the Democratic convention, on the campaign trail or ordering a meal of brisket.”

“Both were allowed to present a series of glib answers without any real probing of some glaring holes in their responses, notably Harris’s new catch-all reply to all inconsistencies — ‘my values have not changed’,” The Times observed.

It was particularly unimpressed with Harris‘s “slippery” answers on fracking. She said there was “no question” she supported a “day one” ban during her 2019 run for the presidency. She now claims she has been clear that is no longer her position since 2020, but The Times notes her only comment on the subject during a 2020 debate was that Joe Biden would not ban fracking.

Muslim Man Gets Just 6 Months in Jail For Violently Assaulting Women Who Refused to Wear the Hijab.

A Muslim man in the United Kingdom has been sentenced to less than a year in prison after violently attacking three women in the city of Bradford for not wearing traditional Muslim clothing and wearing makeup, slamming the head of one woman against a car dashboard. Muhammad Hassan was sentenced to just six months in prison, suspended for two years. The attack took place May 25 at a gas station in Bradford, where the victims had stopped for fuel.

Captured on CCTV, the 26-year-old’s assault began when he spotted the three women at the Prince of Wales Service Station on Harrogate Road. Hassan, who knew the women, had previously spoken out about their appearance and called them derogatory terms such as “slags” or “prostitutes.”

Hassan grabbed the driver, slamming her head against the dashboard, before assaulting the other two women. One victim was punched in the head, while another was struck, leaving them with swelling and bruises. Prosecutor Ayman Khokhar described the incident as motivated by sexist attitudes and noted that Hassan’s behavior was “extremely abusive and violent.”

Defense attorney Fuad Arshad argued that Hassan believed the women were partly responsible for a marriage ending but acknowledged his actions were unjustified. Judge Colin Burn condemned excuses for the violence as “utterly inadequate” and emphasized the victims’ vulnerability.

Hassan’s brief sentence lies in contrast to the harsh sentences given to anti-mass migration protesters this month following the stabbing deaths of three young girls in Southport and the subsequent arrest of a teen born to migrant parents. Disparities in detainment have led to accusations of two-tier policing and two-tier justice, as some were sentenced to years in prison for as little as shouting at police.

KNIFE CONTROL: Migrant Mass Stabbing Heralds Pointless New Laws.

The German government has introduced a new security package that includes knife bans and stricter asylum measures after a deadly knife attack at a diversity festival in Solingen.

The incident, which resulted in the deaths of three people, has triggered a new debate over the country’s lax asylum policies.

At a joint press conference, German ministers stated that measures would include banning knives at most public events and on public transport and a total ban on flick knives. The government also intends to expedite the deportation of foreigners ordered to leave Germany and enforce fast deportation for those facing jail terms for knife crimes.

Additionally, the government proposed creating a task force to prevent Islamism and using biometric facial recognition to identify suspects. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser stated that asylum seekers registered in another EU country would lose their rights to welfare benefits in Germany.

The suspect in the Solingen case had his asylum application rejected because he first registered in Bulgaria, as stipulated by the EU’s Dublin Regulation. Attempts to deport him to Bulgaria last year failed after he went underground.

Center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) leader Friedrich Merz has called for a suspension of refugees from these regions, but Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected this idea.

The government detailed its plans three days before elections in Thuringia and Saxony, where the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) is seeing significant support in the polls. In Thuringia, the AfD is predicted to come first ahead of the conservative CDU, while in Saxony, the two parties are in a tight race.

Despite their polling strength, the AfD is unlikely to gain power and govern as the establishment parties have previously refused to work with them in any regional or national government.

WATCH: Tim Walz Uses Dead Kids As a Shield for Stolen Valor Moment.

Vice President Kamala Harris‘s running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is using children killed in school shootings to deflect from his false claims to have served “in war.” He made the comments while appearing alongside Harris for her first sit-down interview with a news outlet—CNN—since she supplanted Joe Biden as the Democrats’ presidential candidate.

“You said that you carried weapons in war, but you have never deployed actually in a war zone,” CNN’s Dana Bash said to the National Guard veteran. “A campaign official said that you misspoke. Did you?” she asked.

“Well, first of all, I’m incredibly proud I’ve done 24 years of wearing [the] uniform of this country, equally proud of my service in a public school classroom, whether it’s Congress or—or the governor [sic]. My record speaks for itself, but I think people are coming to get to know me. I—I speak like they do. I speak candidly,” Walz rambled, not answering the question.

Apparently hoping he would not be further pressed on his false claims if he raised the subject of dead children, he added: “I wear my emotions on my sleeves, and I speak especially passionately about—about our children being shot in schools and around—around guns. So I think people know me.”

WATCH:

‘GRAMMAR.’

Bash did press Walz, again asking him, “[T]he idea that you said that you were in war, did you misspeak, as the campaign has said?”

“Yeah… we were talking about, in this case, this was after a school shooting, the ideas of carrying these weapons of war. And my wife, the English teacher, told me my grammar’s not always correct,” Walz suggested, although his claim to have carried “weapons of war, in war” was clearly a false statement rather than a case of poor grammar.

Later in the interview, Walz claimed, “folks I’ve served with… they vouch for me.”

‘HE CHOSE ANOTHER PATH.’

Lieutenant Colonel John Kolb, a former commander of the battalion Walz served in, has publicly chastised him for lying about his rank and abandoning the unit shortly before its deployment to Iraq.

“[W]hen the demands of service and leadership at the highest level got real, he chose another path,” Lt. Col. Kolb said of Walz, adding that the Democrat’s false claims to be a retired command sergeant major are “an affront to the Noncommissioned Officer Corps.”

“I do not regret that Tim Walz retired early from the Minnesota Army National Guard, did not complete the Sergeants Major Academy, broke his enlistment contract or did not successfully complete any assignment as a Sergeant Major,” said Kolb, recalling that Walz “Unwittingly… got out of the way for better leadership.”

Walz claims he did not know his unit was going to deploy before he took early retirement, but press releases from his campaign at the time strongly suggest this is untrue.

Vegas Democrat Convicted of Murdering Journalist Who Investigated Him.

Robert Telles, a Democrat politician in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been convicted of murdering Jeff German, a 69-year-old investigative journalist reporting on bullying, retaliation, and favoritism in exchange for sexual favors in his office.

Telles, described merely as an “ex-politician” or “former Las Vegas official” rather than a Democrat in headlines by the likes of Axios, ABC, AP, and CBS, stabbed German to death outside his home on September 2, 2022. German had been reporting on crime and corruption in Las Vegas for 44 years.

Telles, 47, was sentenced to life imprisonment and must serve a minimum of 20 years before being considered for parole.

“Today’s verdict should send a clear message that any attempts to silence the media, or to silence or intimidate a journalist, will not be tolerated,” said Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson.

Telles, a lawyer, argued in court that staff members had framed him because he was rooting out corruption in the office. Wolfson dismissed this as “ludicrous.”

German’s family members described him as the “older brother that we all leaned on” and praised him for his dedication to his work, turning down job offers elsewhere because “Sin City” was where he could make the most difference.

BREAKING: Steve Bannon’s Lawyers Ask for Early Release. Here’s How it Could Work…

The attorney for former White House Chief Strategist and War Room host Stephen K. Bannon has filed a motion asking the U.S. District Court “to reimpose bail pending appeal or to impose supervised release.” In the motion, R. Trent McCotter—a partner with Boyden Gray PLLC—argues that “every order short of a final decree is subject to reopening at the discretion of the district judge.”

McCotter contends that the District Court should reimpose bail or supervised release as new developments in Bannon‘s suggest a grant—or at least substantial dissent from denial—of the en banc appeal before the D.C. Circuit Court is likely. Additionally, the motion notes Circuit Court Judge Justin R. Walker has reversed course on the panels’ original May 10 decision and issued a full dissent instead of joining the ruling in part.

This change in opinion by Judge Walker, McCotter insists, represents a substantial legal issue on appeal for purposes of bail. Additionally, McCotter notes that the July 15 en banc appeal filed by Bannon saw the D.C. Circuit ask the BidenHarris Department of Justice (DOJ) to file a response as to the “the meaning of ‘willfully’ in 2 U.S.C. § 192.”

Such a move by the court is rare, leading McCotter to conclude that this, too, “signals the substantiality” of legal changes in the case and the potential for the full circuit to reverse the panel’s decision.

Finally, McCotter notes that even the BidenHarris DOJ is now acknowledging they can only find one case in all U.S. case law that defines “willfully” in the same manner they have. Bannon’s attorney contends that this represents a third substantial legal change that would allow revisiting the bail ruling.

Should the District Court find in Bannon‘s favor, he could quickly be released on bail pending his ongoing legal appeals.
