The Producer Price Index (PPI) rose again in February, jumping 1.6 percent compared to the same time last year. January’s jump in the PPI was also revised up from 0.9 percent to 1.0 percent. Core PPI — annualized — rose 2 percent over the same period, on par with the 2 percent increase seen in January.
Last month, government data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated an acceleration in inflation. The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Index registered a 0.3 percent jump from the prior month. The increase in the PCE Index was 2.4 percent when annualized. The Federal Reserve closely monitors both the PCE Index and PPI as more accurate measures of inflation.
Earlier this week, President Joe Biden’s Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, said she regretted comments she made suggesting inflation was just transitory. “I regret saying it was transitory. It has come down. But I think transitory means a few weeks or months to most people,” the Treasury Secretary said.
The return of inflation fears is likely to push off further any interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Jerome Powell, the central bank’s chairman, has already indicated that a rate cut is unlikely before the 2024presidential election.

In an attempt to engage with varying perspectives on immigration policy, the Biden government’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) held meetings with the National Immigration Project, a far-left activist group that staunchly opposes the agency’s existence. The group consistently campaigns for the abolishment of ICE and an end to the detention of illegal immigrants.
This interaction has provoked criticism from several members of the ICE, who question the regime’s endorsement of those aiming to eliminate the agency. “I don’t know why they do half of the things they do anymore. So much pandering to those who hate us and want us to disappear,” an ICE source toldThe New York Post.
Former ICE field office director John Fabbricatore contends that the recent trend in dialogues reflects the Biden regime’s support for groups advocating against ICE and for laxer immigration policies.
According to Fabbricatore, who is vying for a congressional seat in Colorado’s sixth district, the government’s advocacy for amnesty and an open immigration process could threaten national security and put undue strain on public services. “It is imperative that a more enforcement-driven approach to immigration be fully reinstated to protect our national security and uphold the integrity of our nation’s borders,” he said.
A spokesperson for the National Immigration Project expressed confusion over ICE’s announcement of the meeting, describing it as an “ordinary course stakeholder engagement organizations regularly have with government agencies to discuss any number of advocacy issues and priorities.”
This is not the first time ICE officials from Biden government have met with an organization dedicated to the department’s destruction. In February, senior ICE officials met with Detention Watch Network, a group seeking the end of immigration detention in the country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Wednesday that Russia would redeploy troops at its border with Finland.
“We generally had ideal relations with Finland. Simply perfect,” said Putin. “We did not have a single claim against each other, especially territorial, not to mention other areas. We didn’t even have troops; we removed all the troops from there, from the Russian-Finnish border,” he noted. “However, it is up to them to decide. That’s what they decided. But we didn’t have troops there, now we will.”
Putin’s decision is a direct response to Finland’s joining NATO. The Russian leader described Finland’s decision to join the treaty organization — and Sweden’s to do the same — as an “absolutely senseless step from the point of view of ensuring their own national interests.”
In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Putin made clear that Russia’s present tensions with the West — and its military action in Ukraine — came about as a result of NATO expansion. Following the fall of the Soviet Union, the West made explicit promises not to expand the organization. However, NATO has continuously expanded its membership, which now includes nations — like Finland — that border Russia.
Moscow has recently warned on multiple occasions that escalating Western interference in Ukraine could spark a full-scale war in Europe and even nuclear retaliation. Despite these warnings, many Western countries have increased their bellicose posturing towards Russia, risking world peace itself.

Liberal cities and states are increasingly looking to private residences to accommodate the illegal alien invasion as resources dwindle.
Denver is begging local rental property owners to house migrants as the city reduces migrant services to decrease a nearly $60 million budget deficit.
New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams has also suggested that migrants occupy private residences. “It is my vision to take the next step to these faith-based locales and then move to a private residence,” he said in June. “We can take that $4.2 billion, or $4.3 billion maybe now, that we potentially have to spend, and we can put it back in the pockets of everyday New Yorkers.”
In Illinois, a proposal was put forth earlier this year that would allow residents to volunteer their homes for migrant families in response to the growing divide on the immigration issue. The proposal, however, was declined, with Naperville’s city council ruling that such measures would fall under the purview of state or federal authorities.
Massachusetts has also appealed to its residents. Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll encouraged those with extra space in their homes to consider accommodating displaced families, reflecting Governor Maura Healey’s request to extend a “helping hand.”
Michigan requested its residents’ assistance in February. Under the state’s refugee support initiative, volunteers would be expected to support refugees for at least 90 days in various ways, from airport reception and initial housing supply to school enrollment and employment assistance.
These efforts reveal the simple truth that America lacks the infrastructure and resources to adequately deal with the massive influx of migrants that has resulted from Biden’s mishandling of the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. In addition to the severe strain on local resources, these “newcomers” are also bringing with them an increase in serious crimes.

Police in Sadiq Khan’s London are hunting a man named Abdullahi Mohamed following an “extremely violent” machete attack outside the capital’s Deptford Islamic Centre.
“Mohamed is fully aware that police are trying to locate him for this offence,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesman.
“Anyone who knows him or has information on his whereabouts should contact us. This was an extremely violent attack, using a large machete, and Mohamed is believed to be dangerous,” the spokesman added.
The victim was hospitalized but is reportedly not in life-threatening condition. Police have not released any information on the victim’s ethnicity or background, saying only that he is in his twenties and they do not believe the attack on him was a hatecrime.
Machete attacks are becoming increasingly common in Britain’s multicultural capital, with a three-man brawl with the long blades in broad daylight being caught on camera late last month.
The share of London’s population classified as ‘White British’ was recorded as just 36.8 percent in the 2021 Census — down from 44.9 percent a decade earlier.

Donald Trump warned last month that the illegal immigration crisis under Joe Biden was creating a “new category of crime… migrant crime, and it’s going to be worse than any other form of crime.”
A review by The National Pulse of just seven days of news coverage appeared to vindicate the former president, uncovering multiple examples of severe offenses. Now, a second review, covering the last seven days, shows this was no outlier:
A FAMILY DESTROYED.
In Missouri, a Venezuelan illegal alien, Endrina Bracho, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, first-degree child endangerment, and driving without a license after smashing into a family of three while driving 35 miles over the speed limit on the wrong side of the road.
Travis Wolfe, 12, died in early March after clinging to life for a few months following the December crash. His parents also suffered significant injuries, including a broken sternum, broken ribs, and broken ribs.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey noted the, “tragic loss of 12-year-old Travis Wolfe is yet another painful reminder of the devastating consequences of lax border enforcement,” warning that illegal aliens can “come to our country, kill our children and continue the cycle because Biden refuses to hold them accountable.”
ONE OF MANY.
On March 11, the Boston Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported having a Colombian illegal convicted of “indecent assault and battery on a person over 14” — a crime which earned him only one year of probation – in custody pending removal proceedings.
“This Colombian sex offender not only broke our immigration laws; he victimized a Massachusetts resident,” said an ICE spokesman.
The agency noted that the unnamed 44-year-old was just one of 275 “noncitizen sex offenders” detained during an operation running from February 5 to February 16. They said that ERO had detained fully 73,822 noncitizens with criminal histories in fiscal year 2023, including 4,390 with charges or convictions for sexual offenses and 1,713 with charges or convictions for homicide.
‘SAME THING AS LAKEN RILEY.’
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw reported the arrest of three Guatemalan illegals for abducting a woman from a public park and sexually assaulting her repeatedly.
“For them to be in this country, for them to be able to commit these types of crimes is unconscionable,” Bradshaw said, accusing Joe Biden of having “put the American people in jeopardy.”
“This is the same thing we saw where the student was killed by the person that was here illegally,” Bradshaw added, referring to the murder of Laken Riley.
A FUGITIVE KILLER.
It was reported on Thursday that a Honduran wanted for murder in his home country had been apprehended in Rhode Island.
The unnamed illegal first crossed the southern border in January 2021 but deported under Trump-era controls Biden has now abolished.
He crossed against later the same year, avoiding border officials entirely and becoming one of the hundreds of thousands of annual “gotaways.”
He did not leave his past behind him in Honduras, either, having been arrested for felony assault with a weapon in 2023 and domestic violence in 2024. Incredibly, a judge ignored an ICE detainer against the illegal and released him into the community, with ICE having to track him down and take him back into custody.
REPEAT OFFENDER.
Salvadoran illegal Jeovany Alfaro Lopez was booked for second-degree rape and two counts of third-degree sex offenses against children at a Maryland church.
Posing as a church teacher, his victims — who were as young as six and included the church pastor — said he sometimes attacked them while they were at prayer with their eyes closed.
He was in the country despite having two previous deportations and one voluntary exit from the United States, with the authorities currently having no idea when he made his latest unlawful entry.
Despite his record, he was also freed by the Montgomery County Detention Center on August 11, in defiance of an ICE detainer.
‘ISIS TIES.’
Finally, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Christopher Wray admitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee that a migrant-smuggling network linked to the Islamic State terror group is operating on the southern border.
“I want to be a little bit careful how far I can go in open session, but there is a particular network that, where some of the overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have ISIS ties that we’re very concerned about,” Wray revealed.
He admitted the FBI was dealing with “a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border,” including violent fentanyl-dealing gangs.

Georgia Judge Scott McAfee decreed on Friday that Fulton County Fani Willis need not be disqualified from her case against President Donald Trump, though for the case to continue, either her office (including her) or her former lover and counsel Nathan Wade must withdraw. The judge noted the “appearance of impropriety” found by Trump co-defendant Mike Roman, which has led to weeks of stunning moments in a Georgia courtroom.
It is anticipated Willis will opt for Wade’s dismissal as her own exit would stall the proceedings indefinitely.
McAfee noted a lack of “actual conflict” over the relationship. Consequently, disqualification on this basis was denied.
This outcome presents a reprieve for Willis, leaving room for the case to potentially reach trial prior to the 2024 presidential election. Should Willis have been outright disqualified, a different prosecutor, unfamiliar with the case built over two years by Willis, would be brought in.
Earlier this week McAfee gutted a number of the charges against Trump in the case, including the “find me the votes” call.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) image generator Adobe Firefly is producing the same perverse results as Gemini, the suspended Google image generator that regularly refused to depict white people and inserted minorities into historically inappropriate contexts.
An investigation by Semafor found Adobe Firefly produced some of the same inaccurate results as Gemini, rendering Vikings and even “German soldiers in 1945” as black, for example.
The National Pulse found similar issues, with a prompt for “America’s Founding Fathers” resulting in an image of a black woman and a black man, and a prompt for “European People in the Middle Ages” resulting in an image of eight black people in medieval dress. A prompt for “German soldiers in 1945” generated an image as equally historically dubious as the one found by Semafor.
While Semafor suggested that such results result from “technical shortcomings,” the images produced by the now-shuttered Gemini program resulted from deliberate programming.
Requests to create images of white families would be refused, while images to create images of black families were accepted. Similarly, only images of historically white groups, such as Vikings and medieval kings, were rendered as ethnically diverse. Historically black groups, such as Zulu warriors, were rendered accurately.
In Adobe’s case, the company defended Firefly as a tool that “isn’t meant for generating photorealistic depictions of real or historical events,” standing by their “commitment to responsible innovation” and decision to “[train] our AI models on diverse datasets to ensure we’re producing commercially safe results that don’t perpetuate harmful stereotypes.”

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced plans to assemble an investor group to purchase TikTok after the House of Representatives passed a bill requiring Chinese parent company ByteDance to divest.
“I think the legislation should pass and I think it should be sold,” Mnuchin toldSquawk Box on Thursday. “It’s a great business and I’m going to put together a group to buy TikTok,” he said.
The bill is now heading to the Senate, where it faces some opposition from “libertarian” senators on the payroll of billionaire TikTok investor Jeffrey Yass, including Rand Paul.
However, it has broad bipartisan support, and even Joe Biden has signaled he is likely to sign the bill if it clears the upper chamber.
Mnuchin served under the Trump administration, which took action against TikTok over data security concerns. National Pulse reporter William Upton, who worked at the Treasury at the same time as Mnuchin, has explained the current bill is “exactly what we wanted.”

The United States Military Academy, commonly known as West Point, has removed the phrase “Duty, Honor, Country” from its mission statement. The modification, which took 18 months to complete, has been sanctioned by Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth and Army Chief of Staff Randy George.
West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. Steve Gilland claimed that the new mission statement — “To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Values and ready for a lifetime of professional excellence and service to the Army and Nation” — better aligns the Academy with the Army’s objectives.
The previous statement read: “To educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.”
Gilland asserted that the phrase “Duty, Honor, Country,” added to the mission statement in 1998, remains integral to West Point’s culture and ethos despite its omission from the mission statement. West Point’s mission statement has seen nine revisions in the last century.
However, critics contend that the change in the mission statement is due to pressure from ‘woke’ politics. The Supreme Court recently decided to allow West Point to continue its race-based admissions practices.
