EXC: Orban Reacts to PM Fico Assassination Attempt – ‘Today We Must Fight for Peace Alone.’

Hungarian leader Viktor Orban has spoken out against the attempted assassination of Slovak leader Robert Fico, in a statement to The National Pulse. The Prime Minister of Slovakia, who assumed office in October 2023, is an ally of Orban in the fight to de-escalate the Ukraine war and encourage a negotiated peace by ending open-ended military support for Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Following the governmental change after Slovakia’s election, Slovakia began its journey towards peace. This was a great help for Hungary. Now, this process has been disrupted and shot across,” Orban lamented in a statement sent to The National Pulse.

“A left-wing activist carried out an assassination attempt against the Slovak Prime Minister. During the most crucial months, Robert Fico was incapacitated from working. We are hopeful for his recovery, but today, we must fight for peace alone,” he continued.

Lubos Blaha, Slovakia’s deputy parliamentary speaker and deputy chairman of Fico’s Smer party, has accused the “liberal media” and political opposition of stoking “hatred” against Fico. The Slovak leader was previously subject to Donald Trump-like lawfare prosecutions and has been attacked by the European Union (EU) and Slovakia’s previous globalist government for opposing Ukraine aid and reforming state media and “anti-corruption” institutions he regards as biased.

After Fico’s shooting, many pro-Ukraine social media users celebrated and expressed their hope Orban would be “next.”

EUROPEAN ELECTIONS.

“From now on, we must fight alone with double the effort,” Orban said, stressing that the “upcoming European election has become more significant than ever.”

“We must put an end to violence! We must go out and vote for peace on June 9th!” he said.

National conservative and populist parties are expected to perform well across the EU in the upcoming European Parliament elections. While the assembly is less significant in EU governance than the European Council, which is comprised of heads of member governments, or the European Commission, an unelected body that acts as the bloc’s executive and initiates EU-level legislation, it does have significant functions.

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) have a role in approving EU budgets and appointments to the Commission and have provided an important platform for populist figures who are often shut out of national politics, such as Britain’s Nigel Farage prior to Brexit.

Obama Judge Rejects Marc Elias’s Election Lawfare in Wisconsin.

Washington D.C.-based law firm Elias Law Group, led by Democrat attorney and Russian collusion hoaxer Marc Elias, failed to convince a federal judge in a recent case challenging Wisconsin’s election integrity laws. The firm’s argument, which the presiding judge termed “head-scratching,” sought to challenge the state’s statute mandating that a U.S. citizen must witness and sign an absentee voter’s ballot. According to Elias Law Group, this infringed upon voting and civil rights.

Presiding over the case was U.S. District Court Chief Judge James D. Peterson, an Obama-appointed judge. He dismissed the petition against the Wisconsin Elections Commission, expressing his consternation at the claims, insinuating that they lacked logic and soundness.

“The absurd results to which plaintiffs’ interpretation would lead are reason enough to reject that interpretation,” Peterson wrote. “It is plaintiffs’ interpretation that leads to head-scratching results.”

Furthermore, considering the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the judge clarified that neither explicitly prohibited a state from enforcing a witnessing system for absentee voting. The Elias Law Group alleged that the witness requirement would violate these federal statutes. Elias‘s lawyers “have not shown that either the Voting Rights Act of 1965 or the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits a state from requiring absentee voters to prepare their ballot in front of a witness,” wrote Peterson.

Elias’s firm argued that witnessing and signing absentee ballots was overly arduous and inconvenient. However, Judge Peterson upheld the traditions of election integrity, maintaining that such steps were necessary to prevent potential electoral fraud and the undue influence of ballot harvesting.

In response to the irregularities and controversies that plagued the country in 2020, Wisconsin has taken a national lead in ensuring election integrity heading into the 2024 election.

Wisconsin’s NeverTrump GOP Leader is Emboldening Election Riggers & Helping Ballot Drop Boxes Make a Comeback.

The Republican Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, Robin Vos, appears determined to protect a state election official who abused her authority to allow illegal voting procedures to take place in the state during the 2020 election. Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC) administrator Megan Wolfe unilaterally cleared the way for the use of ballot drop boxes — without the backing of any Wisconsin law or statute. Additionally, Wolfe is alleged to have openly colluded with far-left election non-profit groups and allowed local election clerks to incorrectly register some voters as “indefinitely confined” in abrogation of state law.

While the Wisconsin Republican Speaker has at least given vocal backing to calls for Wolfe’s resignation, it appears that is as far as he’s willing to go. In fact, Vos purposefully assigned the articles of impeachment against Wolfe to an assembly committee so that the issue would die there. The committee has not taken action on the articles since November last year.

SPECIAL SESSION IMPEACHMENT.

Despite a detailed account of numerous instances where Wolfe either bent or twisted state law in favor of Democratic candidates in Wisconsin’s 2020 election, Speaker Vos has thus far refused to call legislators in for a special session to impeach and remove Wolfe. However, impeaching Wolfe isn’t an insurmountable hurdle akin to the Mayorkas impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate. The State Assembly only requires a majority vote, and two-thirds of the State Senate is needed to convict and remove. Republicans hold a comfortable majority in the State Assembly and a super-majority in the State Senate.

Vos’s refusal to call a special session to impeach and remove Wolfe is even stranger when considering the nature of her appointment to the WEC. Wolfe’s re-nomination was actually rejected by the State Senate, with lawmakers effectively firing her. However, the Wisconsin Supreme Court intervened, allowing Wolfe to remain in office, stating that an appointee cannot be removed if a replacement is not confirmed by the legislative body. Sen. Chris Kapenga (R), the President of the Senate, has stated it is his view that Wolfe is not legally entitled to her appointment, with her re-nomination having been rejected.

Additionally, lawmakers in the state legislation contend a special session would allow them to address a bevy of election integrity issues. These measures include passing a resolution that would ban the use of drop boxes, requiring human signature matching, and a clean-up of voter rolls.

VOS’S SHADY CONNECTIONS.

The Republican Speaker has been an outspoken critic of former President Donald J. Trump. Vos pledged to do everything possible to prevent Trump from securing the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Even more concerning, however, is the Speaker’s connections with a Chinese Communist Party front group. Vos serves on the board of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF), which is affiliated with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Vos’s anti-Trump statements, connections to Chinese communists, and refusal to take action against Wolfe’s illegitimate appointment to the WEC have resulted in a growing recall movement against him. Currently, the effort is just 2,000 signatures short of the number required to be filed on May 28, 2024, to start the recall process.

‘Treated Like Scum.’ Assaults On Law Enforcement Reach 10-Year High.

FBI data released Tuesday indicated a record high in assaults on U.S. law enforcement, with 79,000 attacks recorded last year, the highest in a decade. A total of 60 officers were killed last year, and the period from 2021 to 2023 saw more officer deaths than any other comparable period.

“There is no question that there is a war on cops in this country,” said Joe Gamaldi, vice president of the National Fraternal Order of Police. “There were 378 police officers shot last year. That is a record number since we started tracking the data in 2018. Shootings of police officers have increased by 60%.”

According to FBI data, the number of local, state, and federal officers injured as a result of gun violence is increasing, with guns identified as the leading cause of officer deaths, accounting for 52 percent of cases. The southern region of the U.S. witnessed more officer killings than any other region. A total of 466 officers were assaulted with guns in 2023, marking a record high for the decade — significantly higher than the under 200 assaults with firearms recorded in 2014.

The release of these alarming figures coincides with National Police Week, during which Attorney General Merrick Garland and other law enforcement leaders joined a vigil to honor fallen officers in Washington, D.C. Last month, four U.S. Marshals Service task force members were killed serving a warrant for gun charges.

The FBI says it is investing in efforts to uncover the underlying reasons behind these trends. However, observers may note that anti-law enforcement sentiment — and attacks against officers — rose significantly in the wake of the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots.

NYT Dings MSNBC For Liberal, Pro-Biden Bias!?

NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde, responsible for outlets including  MSNBC, CNBC, and Telemundo, reportedly wants his news operations to provide a “big tent.” However, the regression of MSNBC into “a kind of televised safe space” after Donald Trump’s election in 2016 has dragged down the rest of NBC with it, The New York Times reports, with the former president and conservatives in general increasingly regarding it as a partisan “fake news” operation.

“Our strategy is built on our distinct, complementary brands including NBC News, CNBC, NBC News Now, MSNBC and Telemundo,” NBCUniversal News Group claimed in a statement to the Times. “That has driven our performance as the nation’s leading news organization with the largest reach.”

But the Times notes the decision to hire Jen Psaki, Joe Biden’s former press secretary, and another Biden aide, Symone D. Sanders, “straight from the White House” showed MSNBC was only doubling down on its partisan bias. The negotiations to hire Psaki, in particular, caused conflict of interest concerns among NBC News staffers, with the network’s then-co-chief White House correspondent asking the then-Biden official how it could be “ethical to have these conversations with media outlets while you continue to have a job standing behind that podium?”

BALANCE FAIL.

Bias at MSNBC became so bad that NBC parent company Comcast “intervened in MSNBC’s coverage following negative remarks about Israel” following the Hamas attack on the country on October 7, 2023.  It was around this time that far-left British anchor Mehdi Hassan exited the network.

However, virulently anti-Trump shows have attracted a considerable audience of Democratic hardliners, allowing them to derail Conde’s efforts to restore some semblance of balance. On-air rebellions by the likes of Rachel Maddow over the hiring of Ronna McDaniel, considered a Republican-in-name-only by most Trump supporters, saw her deal canceled.

The Biden regime has also been directly leaning on NBC to remain biased, with officials “perturbed about the McDaniel hire,” according to the Times. The newspaper also reports Biden aides are lobbying the Nightly News, “whose huge audience is of critical political importance to the [Biden] campaign,” to stop “taking it easy on Mr. Trump and treating Mr. Biden too harshly.”

New Evidence Reveals Michael Cohen Admitting ‘I Swear to God, I Don’t Have Anything on Donald Trump.’

Disgraced and disbarred attorney Michael Cohen admitted to his former legal counsel, Robert Costello, that he had no evidence of crimes committed by former President Donald J. Trump. Costello told Members of Congress on Wednesday that his former client lied on the witness stand in the ongoing hush money trial against the former President.

“I explained that if Cohen had truthful information that would implicate Donald Trump, I could get him out of his legal troubles by the end of the week,” Costello told lawmakers. He added: “I emphasized that any information Cohen could give would have to be truthful, otherwise it was useless.”

Costello served as Micahel Cohen‘s criminal defense attorney before the serial perjurer accepted Lanny Davis’s counsel instead. According to his former attorney, Cohen repeatedly claimed that he had no evidence against former President Trump.

“Each time Cohen said to me: ‘I swear to God, Bob, I don’t have anything on Donald Trump,'” Costello recalled. He continued: “Cohen must have said this at least ten times because I kept coming back to it from different approaches.”

Cohen’s former criminal defense attorney said the disgraced lawyer was predominantly concerned with avoiding prison time. “Cohen kept on saying: ‘Guys I want you to remember, I will do whatever the F… I have to do, I will never spend one day in jail,'” Costello alleges his client to have told him. The statements by Cohen’s former defense counsel suggest that Cohen was and continues to be motivated out of fear of the consequences of his crimes and has been willing to lie to avoid punishment.

In another moment, Costello recalled Cohen telling him that he had stood atop the roof of his hotel and contemplated suicide as he thought he couldn’t handle the pressure of the criminal case against him. Costello said he asked Cohen, “isn’t it easier to cooperate against Donald Trump, than it is to kill yourself?” Cohen’s former defense attorney said that his then client’s answer was the same: “I swear to God, Bob, I don’t have anything on Donald Trump.”

Jimmy Carter’s Grandson Says 99-Year-Old Former President ‘Coming to the End.’

President Jimmy Carter, 99, has been in hospice care since February 2023. His wife, Rosalynn Carter, died aged 96 in November, and the Carter family now says the former president is also “coming to the end.”

Carter “has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end that, as I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space,” said his grandson, Jason Carter.

Carter, a Democrat, served one term from 1977 to 1981. He had previously been a Georgia lawmaker and governor and was nominated to the Trilateral Commission by the late David Rockefeller in 1973. He incorporated many Trilateral Commission members into his administration, including his vice president, Walter Mondale.

Carter is one of the more unpopular presidents in modern times. He faced a bruising primary challenge from the late Senator Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy before losing his reelection fight against Ronald Reagan. However, 13 quarters into his term, Joe Biden polls worse than Carter did at the same point in his presidency. Biden polls worse than any president of the post-war era.

Trump May Receive Prestigious Congressional Gold Medal.

In a move to recognize former President Donald Trump’s lasting impact on U.S. history and diplomacy, a group of House Republicans has proposed a resolution to award him the Congressional Gold Medal. This prestigious award, considered the highest civilian honor in the country, alongside the Presidential Medal of Freedom, commemorates those who have significantly contributed to U.S. culture and history.

The resolution, spearheaded by Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna and co-signed by seven other Republican supporters, aims to celebrate Trump’s “exceptional leadership.” The former president oversaw the destruction of the Islamic State’s physical caliphate in Syria and Iraq, reversed the Barack Obama administration’s appeasement of Iran, and strong-armed European NATO members into increasing their contributions, among other foreign policy achievements — including a historic summit with North Korea. Famously, he was the first president since the 1970s not to lead the U.S. into any new wars.

However, in order for Trump to receive the Congressional Gold Medal, the resolution will have to win passage in both the Republican-majority House of Representatives and the Democrat-controlled Senate, which seems unlikely.

The House GOP has been rather limp in its support of former President Trump as the Joe Biden regime wages an ongoing lawfare campaign against him. Resolutions to expunge politically motivated impeachments, which ended in Senate acquittals, were promised almost a year ago, when Kevin McCarthy was still Speaker. These could have been passed without reference to the Senate, but ultimately went nowhere.

‘Orban Next!’ Pro-Ukraine Accounts Celebrate Assassination Attempt on Slovak PM Fico.

Pro-Ukraine social media accounts are cheering the shooting of Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia. The 59-year-old European Union (EU) and NATO leader, an ally of Hungary’s Viktor Orban, has opposed continuing to fund the Western proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, as well as the sanctions duel that has disrupted European energy supplies while having no meaningful impact on Russia’s growing economy.

“Hero!” declared one user of the suspect. He posted a separate message asking, “Victor [sic] Orban you watching?” — as if to suggest the Trump ally, who also opposes open-ended support for Ukraine, will be shot if he doesn’t change his stance.

Other users echoed this sentiment, with one user posting “Orban should take notice” and many users, often with the Ukrainian flag by their name, posting messages reading “Orban next” or “Orban is next.”

“Karma. In the future, all Kremlin vassals will have to take this into account,” gloated one user.

“Finally, some good news,” reacted a user with Hungarian, European Union, and Ukrainian flags in their handle.

“Soon he will meet [P]rigozhin in the hell [sic],” added another user, who also included the Ukrainian flag and the hashtags #Fuckrussia #Fuckputin #SlavaUkraini #NATO and #NATOWAVE in their account biography. Yevgeny Prigozhin was the leader of Russia’s Wagner Group, who died in a plane crash last year.

Fico’s condition and the identity and motive of his shooter were unknown as of the time of publication.
