Scotland’s Pakistani ‘First Minister’ Unilaterally Held Anti-Israel Talks With Turkey’s Erdogan, Against UK Policy.

Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf has sparked a diplomatic row by holding an unauthorized meeting with the Turkish president. Yousaf, roughly equivalent to a U.S. state governor, is a Pakistani-heritage Muslim. He has been pushing the British government to back an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and import thousands of Gazan refugees. Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, nominally a NATO ally, also backs a ceasefire. He has branded the West’s support for Israel against Hamas “barbaric”.

By discussing a ceasefire with Erdogan at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), Yousaf breached diplomatic protocol. Foreign policy and defense are reserved to the British central government. Yousaf, as head of the devolved Scottish government, should not have met a foreign government representative without British government officials present.

With Yousaf’s party being left-separatist, it has long attempted to set up a parallel foreign policy. Foreign Secretary (Secretary of State) David Cameron has threatened to expel Scottish government officials from Foreign Office premises over the Erdogan breach, however.

Yousaf is no stranger to controversy in British politics. He swore his oath of allegiance in the Scottish Parliament in Urdu, the official language of his family’s native Pakistan. He also railed against the number of white people in Scotland while he was the government minister responsible for justice matters.

WATCH: Statehouse Displays Satanic Baphomet Idol in Kim Reynolds’s Iowa.

The Iowa Statehouse is hosting an idol of the demon Baphomet. The ram-headed statue is being maintained by the Satanic Temple, which has billed it as an expression of “religious freedom”. It has been sited near traditional Christmas trees and Jewish menorahs, with critics questioning why Governor Kim Reynolds, who recently endorsed Ron DeSantis for the GOP presidential nomination, is allowing it.

“We’re going to really relish the opportunity to be represented in a public forum. We don’t have a church on every street corner,” boasted Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves. They were able to abuse rules allowing anyone to apply for a permit for a display to install the idol. Lawmaker Brad Sherman described this as “a tortured and twisted interpretation of law that affords Satan, who is universally understood to be the enemy of God, religious expression equal to God in an institution of government that depends upon God for continued blessings.”

“I hope that people realize spiritual warfare is real. That there are evil Satanic forces that are trying to infiltrate our state,” commented Shellie Flockhart, part of a Christian prayer group opposed to the demonic display.

WATCH: CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Admits She Doesn’t Know That Alternate Electors Have Been Used In Previous U.S. Elections.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins tried to dunk on Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin on Monday, attacking the alternate electors slated by the political right in the aftermath of the 2020 election. Sen. Johnson was forced to explain the tactic has been used by Democrats in previous years – a fact over which Collins seemed both wildly ignorant and belligerent.

Collins repeatedly demands the Senator provide exact details of prior examples, despite Johnson having been booked by CNN producers to discuss Ukraine and the U.S. border. While Johnson therefore didn’t have specific dates to hand, he furnished CNN will information via X (formerly Twitter) a few hours later:

Democrats in Hawaii chose an alternative slate of electors in the 1960 election, for example, allowing John F. Kennedy to be certified as the winner. Johnson also cited: “In 2005, Sen. Barbara Boxer and Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones led a group of 31 representatives in objecting to the certification of Ohio’s electors. Those 31 include Jim Clyburn, Sheila Jackson Lee, Barbara Lee, now-Sen. Ed Markey, Benny Thompson, and Maxine Waters.” Indeed, in 2016, Democrats from Washington and Colorado signed an attempt to block Trump from winning an Electoral College majority. And in 2017, Reps. Jamie Raskin, Pramila Jayapal, Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Raúl Grijalva, Maxine Waters, and Jim McGovern, all objected to electoral votes for Trump.

Missouri AG Alleges Soros’s Media Matters Defrauded Public, Launches Probe.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has notified the far-left group Media Matters – which works to de-platform conservative voices in media – they are the subject of an investigation by his office for the “fraudulent solicitation of donations from Missourians.”

According to the Attorney General, Media Matters deceptively manipulated the X (formerly Twitter) algorithm in an effort to exaggerate the presence of extremist and harmful content as part of a campaign urging advertisers to cut ties with the site. The fraudulent results were also used to raise money from Missourians.

“We have reason to believe Media Matters used fraud to solicit donations from Missourians in order to trick advertisers into pulling out of X, the last platform dedicated to free speech in America,” Bailey said, adding: “Radicals are attempting to kill Twitter because they cannot control it, and we are not going to let Missourians get ripped off in the process.”

Media Matters is accused of potentially violating Missouri consumer protection laws and engaging in unlawful business practices. The Attorney General specifically sites Mo. Rev. Stat. § 407.020.1 which bars nonprofit entities from soliciting funds under false pretenses. As part of the investigation, Bailey has ordered Media Matters to “…preserve all records that may relate to your alleged effort to engage in coordinated, inauthentic behavior on social media platforms in order to generate false statements that were used to solicit charitable contributions under false pretenses.”

The Missouri investigation is just the latest to target the Soros-funded group. Last month, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced his office had opened a fraud probe into whether Media Matters had violated the Texas Business Organizations Code and the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) has filed a federal lawsuit against Media Matters accusing the  Soros-backed group of undermining freedom of speech and deceiving advertisers.

Jack Smith Goes Straight To Supreme Court on Question of Presidential Immunity.

Department of Justice (DOJ) special prosecutor Jack Smith is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to step-in and immediately resolve the question of presidential immunity raised by former President Donald Trump. Lawyers for Trump have asserted the Constitution affords the former President absolute immunity from prosecution which would render the DOJ’s January 6 case in Washington, D.C. null.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan – presiding over Smith’s January 6 prosecution – denied Trump’s presidential immunity argument at the beginning of December. Four days ago, the former President’s lawyers appealed Chutkan’s ruling to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, with an additional filing asking the appellate court order all further proceedings in the case paused until the immunity question was resolved.

The crux of Trump’s argument revolves around the absolute immunity from lawsuits to a sitting president granted by Nixon v. Fitzgerald. Whether a sitting or former President is immune from arrest or criminal prosecution for actions taken in office has not been, until now, legally tested. Trump’s lawyers argue his alleged statements regarding the 2020 federal election “unquestionably” fall under the scope of official duties – making them arguably immune from subsequent legal action.

In his Supreme Court filing, Smith counters Trump’s immunity claim, arguing: “The Constitution’s text, structure, and history lend no support to that novel claim. This Court has accorded civil immunity for a President’s actions… and the Executive Branch has long held the view that a sitting President cannot be indicted… But those principles cannot be extended to provide the absolute shield from criminal liability…”. He concludes: “Neither the separation of powers nor respondent’s acquittal in impeachment proceedings lifts him above the reach of federal criminal law.”

Smith’s filing does acknowledge Trump’s request to pause the trial proceedings, while the immunity question is resolved through appeals, is the correct procedure. However, due of the imminent presidential election, Smith argues he is justified in asking the Justices step in and resolve the question ahead of the appellate court – allowing the Washington, D.C.-based trial to move forward on May 4, 2024 as scheduled.

Capitol Police Hiring DEI Strategist.

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is looking to hire a new DEI strategist who will “…expand the USCP’s efforts to deliver effective diversity, equity, and inclusion training.” According to the employment posting from the USCP, the individual hired will serve as an “expert advisor of diversity, equity and inclusion learning strategies to the Chief Diversity Officer, providing expertise to ensure DEI training are knowledge and behavior-based and measurable.”

Why the USCP has need for a DEI office is unclear. The department is primarily charged with protecting the U.S. Capitol, Congressional office buildings, Members of Congress, staff, and visitors from crime, terrorism, and violent civil unrest.

With Republicans in control of the House of Representatives, it is surprising DEI programs at the USCP are still being funded. After this summer’s Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action, Republican lawmaker across the country began a concerted effort to roll back DEI programs in both government and the private sector – arguing they encouraged the racial-quotas and race-based employment preferences the Court ruled unconstitutional.

The House and Senate Appropriations, House Administration, and Senate Rules and Administration all exercise jurisdiction over the police department. While Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a degree of influence over the USCP’s top brass, it is directly governed by a board comprised of the Senate Sergeant at Arms, House Sergeant at Arms, and the Architect of the Capitol.

DEI-style programs in other parts of the federal government have resulted in worrying outcomes including increased threats to national security, the Department of Homeland Security employing a Hamas sympathizer, and mass insubordination at the State, Commerce, Defense, and Interior Departments over the perception President Biden was too favorable to Israel.

Even Leftist Governments Around the World Are Moving to Slash Migration.

Leftist governments in Denmark and Australia are adopting a more hardline stance on immigration than many notionally conservative governments. Australia’s governing Labor Party has pledged to cut net immigration in half. Denmark’s Social Democrats have pledged zero net immigration, a.k.a. balanced immigration.

Australia, with a population of only around 25 million, suffered net immigration of around 510,000 in the year to June. The government has conceded the system is “broken” and “in tatters” – blaming the previous center-right government. They say they will reduce it to around 250,000 by June 2025.

There is growing acknowledgment that an ongoing housing crisis cannot be resolved if mass migration continues at current levels.

Denmark, a generous welfare state, is going even further. They aim to balance the number of people entering the country against the number of people leaving, with the government insisting: “If you want to be a party of the working class and middle class, you have to ensure that migration has a manageable level.”

Social Democrat lawmaker Rasmus Stoklund explained his party’s increasingly anti-immigration stance is the true left-wing position.

“The part of society that bears the brunt of unchecked migration is the working-class population that we should be representing,” he said. “It is their children who have to go to schools that experience cultural clashes. It is those people who have to experience the criminality and social problems that follow. The more privileged people in society will only meet migrants if they are the children of diplomats, so for them the issue is not so clear.”

Denmark is also taking radical action to integrate the existing migration background population. Vollsmose, a notorious suburban “no go zone”, is being bulldozed, to help integrate its predominantly “non-Western” residents.

GOP Sen. Vance Urges Republicans to Recognize Public Will Against Blanket Abortion Bans.

Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), expressed his belief on Sunday that the public, including his own party, is not in favor of “blanket abortion bans”, as he conversed with Jake Tapper on CNN. Vance voiced his intention to protect as many unborn babies as possible, emphasizing that exceptions must be provided in abortion laws, specifically for situations such as endangerment to the mother’s life or cases of rape. According to Vance, such exceptions are a “basic necessity.”

Expounding further, Vance warned that if Republicans are viewed as attempting to infringe on people’s rights rather than making childbirth easier, it could lead to the party’s downfall. According to the Ohio senator, he believes that the GOP should transform into a party that prioritizes the family to regain the trust and support of the American people.

Vance further illustrated his stance by discussing the financial burden families face when having a child, stating, “I have been shocked by you go to the hospital, you have a baby, you get a $20,000 unexpected bill. What does that look like for a middle-class family that is trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage?” He continued to criticize the difficulty that many families experience when trying to afford family life in America.

Far Left Author Grifts off George Santos to Sell Book.

Far-left lawyer, author, and MSNBC commentator Tristan Snell is grifting off the former Republican Representative George Santos (R-N.Y.) to sell a book on former President Donald Trump.

Snell – a former New York Assistant Attorney General and key figure involved in the Trump University case – commissioned a video from Santos and manipulated the content to resemble a direct conversation with the congressman, who was recently expelled from the House for allegedly misusing campaign funds.

The clip starts with Santos acknowledging Snell’s legal skills and perceived support for the nation, with Snell responding in kind, alluding that Santos might soon hear “guilty as charged.”

Additionally, Santos encouraged Snell to complete the work after Snell led him to believe he was writing a book on the Constitution. He, however, revealed his actual publication, “Taking Down Trump,” before offering to autograph a copy for Santos. The author then took the opportunity to market his book further by encouraging his audience to buy it before it gets “banned in certain states.”

Snell would have paid anywhere between $150 t0 $200 for the Santos cameo. It is uncertain whether enough people will buy the book to reimburse the costs of the clip.

Senator Vance: Ukraine Should Cede ‘Some Territory’ to ‘Stop the Killing.’

Republican Senator J.D. Vance argued Sunday that Ukraine should cede “some territory” to Russia in order to end the war. He explained that attempting to drive Russia back to Ukraine’s 1991 borders was unrealistic. He said Joe Biden must define tangible objectives if he wants Congress to approve $61 billion in aid.

“What’s in America’s best interest is to accept Ukraine is going to have to cede some territory to the Russians, and we need to bring this war to a close,” Vance said. “But when I think about the great human tragedy here, hundreds of thousands of Eastern Europeans innocent have been killed in this conflict… The thing that’s in our interest and in theirs is to stop the killing.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already conceded a much-hyped counter-offensive against the Russians this year has failed.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is slated to convene with Republicans in Washington on Monday. He will argue for an end to American military support for Ukraine, to bring Zelensky to the negotiating table.
