Poland is Planning a Referendum on EU’s Illegal Migrant Demands.

Poland’s national conservative government plans to hold a referendum on whether or not the European Union (EU) should be allowed to redistribute African and Middle Eastern migrants to the country. Poland’s opposition leader, the infamous globalist Donald Tusk, agreed to submit to EU migrant quotas shortly before his Civic Platform (PO) party was swept out of office by the current Law and Justice (PiS) party, which immediately repudiated them – setting the scene with years of legal battles with Brussels.

While Tusk abandoned his post as Polish Prime Minister for a better-paid position as President of the European Commission shortly before this electoral disaster, he is now attempting a comeback in his native country. Conservatives are attempting to preempt the possibility of Tusk reviving the quotas if he wins the election by asking the public their view directly:

Do you support the admission of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, in accordance with the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?

Three other questions will also be put to the Polish people:

  • Do you support the sale of state-owned enterprises?
  • Do you support the removal of the barrier on Poland’s border with Belarus?
  • Are you in favor of raising the retirement age [that is] currently 60 for women and 65 for men?

When Law and Justice came to power, the retirement age was 67 for all Poles. The fact they have been able to lower it to 60 for women and 65 for men, despite having net emigration, has caused consternation in Western Europe, where governments that are increasing the state pension have long justified the record-breaking mass immigration they have overseen by claiming it is required to fund state pensions.

Russia’s Space Probe Crashes into the Moon.

The Russian Luna-25 probe, the nation’s first mission to the moon in almost 50 years, lost control and crashed while preparing for a pre-landing orbit on Saturday, despite having successfully entered the moon’s orbit earlier this week.

“During the operation, an abnormal situation occurred on board the automatic station, which did not allow the manoeuvre to be performed with the specified parameters,” announced Roskosmos, Russia’s space corporation.

“The apparatus moved into an unpredictable orbit and ceased to exist as a result of a collision with the surface of the Moon,” the statement added.

A soft landing of the 800kg probe had been initially planned for Monday. It was due to be the first to ever land on the moon’s southern surface, beating the Indian Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft by a matter of days.

Both nations launched missions earlier this summer in an effort to explore whether the moon’s surface could hold frozen water and valuable elements. Scientists believe that the water could be transformed into air or rocket fuel by future explorers.

Political Assassinations Hang Over Ecuador as Country Goes to Polls.

Ecuadorian politician Pedro Briones, an organizer for the Citizen’s Revolution party, was shot and killed this week, bringing the total number of political murders in Ecuador up to three within less than a month.

“Ecuador is experiencing its bloodiest era… A heartfelt hug to the family of colleague Pedro Briones, fallen by the hands of violence,” said Luisa Gonzalez, leader of the Citizen’s Revolution party and front-runner in the ongoing presidential race prompted by a corruption scandal.

Briones was killed a week after the daylight assassination of Fernando Villavicencio, a presidential candidate and “fearless whistleblower.” Villavicencio was killed after holding a political rally in the Ecuadorian capital city, Quito, despite being surrounded by security guards and police officers. His campaign focused on tackling the country’s problems with corruption and organized crime.

Villavicencio’s murder was also proceeded by the death of Manta city mayor Agustin Intriago, shot and killed at the end of July, shortly after being reinstated.

Ecuador’s crime rate has skyrocketed over the past decade. The country’s murder rate has spiked from 5.8 percent per 100,000 in 2016 to 25.6 percent as of this year, according to the Ecuadorian national police.

“I want this country to be a place of peace, a productive country… I believe Ecuador is a paradise and they have turned it into hell,” argued Andrea Gonzalez Ander, Villavicencio’s running-mate in regards to the country’s growing gang violence and political corruption.

The “Citizen’s Revolution” party is described as “center right” though has previously sought alliances with left-wing groups.

EXC: DeSantis PAC Chair Claimed ‘Sizzler’ Certificate was Business Degree.

One of the chairmen of Ron DeSantis’s Super PAC ‘Never Back Down’ attempted to pass off a training certificate from the ‘Sizzler’ restaurant chain as a business degree when running for office in Iowa, The National Pulse can reveal.

Mark Chelgren, one of a number of controversial county chairmen for the DeSantis PAC in the Hawkeye State, is a former State Senator who was exposed as having burnished his resume by claiming to have a “degree” in business from Forbco Management – a now-defunct company that ran a Sizzler franchise.

“This was a management course he took when he worked for Sizzler, kind of like Hamburger University at McDonald’s,” admitted a spokesman for the Republican Party in Iowa at the time, confirming Chelgren got a “certificate” rather than a degree.

Image: Iowa Senator Mark Chelgren's biography on his Iowa Senate Republicans page

Chelgren, who approved the bogus biography, played dumb after the ruse came to light, suggesting he didn’t know “a degree and a certificate are different.”

His biography also claimed he “attended the University of California at Riverside majoring in astro-physics, geo-physics and mathematics,” and biographies elsewhere claimed he received a full degree from that institution. He later admitted he did not actually graduate from the University of California.

Chelgren exited the Iowa Senate in 2019, and failed to win reelection to the Iowa House in 2022. He is now the chairman of the Appanoose County, Iowa ‘Never Back Down’ operation.

X is Hiring Staff To ‘Combat Election Disinfo’.

X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, is actively seeking to hire a so-called disinformation specialist, releasing a call for applications in an effort to censor certain users ahead of the 2024 election. The move has sparked concern, especially in relation to similar actions taken during the 2020 election and the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, who pledged to uphold the values of free speech. Critics, including Mike Benz from the Foundation For Freedom Online, have raised the issue of possible covert censorship channels and an increased threat to online freedom if these positions are filled.

The job postings have been promoted through DisinfoDocket.com, a site affiliated with “anti-disinformation” groups with ties to federal cybersecurity agencies. These developments raise questions about the true intentions behind the creation of these positions and how they align with the concept of free speech.

The preference for candidates proficient in European languages suggests that the impact will extend beyond localized concerns.

WATCH: CNN Admits ‘Trump Was Right… Biden Was Wrong’ on Major Topic.

CNN’s Jake Tapper shocked his panel guests and presumably his television audience by admitting “Trump was right… Biden was wrong” in reference to their 2020 presidential debate dust-up over Hunter Biden and his business dealings with China and Ukraine.

Tapper, who hosts CNN’s The Lead, drew his panelists’ attention to an early August fact check by the Washington Post‘s Glenn Kessler, awarding Joe Biden “Four Pinocchios” for his denial:

“… Biden, during the debate, denied his son had made money in China. In court last week, his son has said he earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from Chinese business deals.”

WATCH:

The exchange of words between Trump and Biden was sparked by moderator Kristen Welker, who pressed the elder Biden if he thought his son’s business dealings in China and Ukraine were, “…inappropriate or unethical.” The question obviously agitated Biden who responded in a raised voice that his son Hunter  Biden “…has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking about, China.” Biden then quipped that, “…the only guy who made money from China is this guy [gesturing at Donald Trump]. He’s the only one. Nobody else has made money from China.”

Trump fired right back at Biden, saying that once Joe Biden had become Vice President, Hunter “…made a fortune in Ukraine, in China, in Moscow and various other places. Biden emphatically stated: “That is not true.” Recent court documents have revealed that Hunter Biden did in fact earn millions from these deals.

Ron DeSantis is Using AI To Text People… Songs About Obama.

Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign appears to be using large a language model (LLM) artificial intelligence to text potential South Carolina Republican primary votes. The initial text message appears as if it were sent by a real human: “Hi, I’m Liz working elect Ron DeSantis. Do you have a minute to answer a couple of questions?” But the bot soon fell apart and disclosed its… artificiality.

When Alan Johnson, a South Carolina based computer programmer, received the campaign text he suspected almost right away that it was an LLM and not a human on the other end. Through a series of targeted prompts, he not only got “Liz” to confirm that she was actually AI, but also convinced the artificial intelligence to write him a lovely song about former President Obama.

LLMs are a relatively new artificial intelligence technology and relatively cost prohibitive for campaigns as the estimated cost to effectively train one range anywhere from $1 million to $10 million. Ideally, a human should not be able to recognize they he or she is communicating with an LLM. However, Johnson indicates that he almost immediately suspected that he was dealing with an LLM, saying he got a ‘”..Turing Test feeling that I was talking to a bot.”

Johnson says he initially prompted “Liz” with a question as to whether she was a real human or a bot, causing her to respond with what appears to be a pre-programmed script it has been trained to uses when someone identifies it as non-human.

Next, Johnson challenged “Liz” by requesting it answer a simple math question and asking it to tell him about Open AI. LLMs will promptly respond to simple simple requests even when they are radically diverge from the conversation.

Once Johnson was confident that “Liz” was an LLM and not a human campaign volunteer, he decided to test its limits by asking it to write a song about former President Barack Obama. Which “Liz” promptly generated and delivered:

When “Liz” said she didn’t have a ‘token limit’ (a sort of word limit) the South Carolina based commuter programmer decided to test the claim by sending the LLM 30 paragraphs of ‘lorem ipsum’ – a nonsense Latin phrase that publishers use as a placeholder for actual text. Johnson’s test failed to generate a response from “Liz” indicating he had hit the LLM’s ‘token limit’ and that “Liz” was either programmed to not think it had a limit or it simply lied – a surprisingly common and disconcerting problem with LLM artificial intelligences. OpenAI, an industry leader in LLM technology, notes token limits are currently a technical limitation and that “…requests can use up to 4097 tokens shared between prompt and completion. If your prompt is 4000 tokens, your completion can be 97 tokens at most.”

Ecuador Might Elect a Dead Man President This Week.

Fernando Villavicencio, the center-right Ecuadorian presidential candidate shot dead while out campaigning on August 9th, apparently by Colombian hitmen, will still appear on election ballots on Sunday, and could win the contest.

Villavicencio was shot in the head three times during the assassination, a bloody affair that saw nine others injured and one of the politician’s assailants killed in a police shootout. It could have been substantially worse if a grenade, thrown among Villavicencio’s supporters by the assassins during the fracas, had not failed to detonate.

If the dead man, who ran on a platform of taking down drug gangs and political corruption, wins the election, his place in the presidential palace will be taken by Christian Zurita, a close friend.

Zurita expects that the South American country’s criminal underworld will attempt to kill him as well: “They killed Fernando, and I am the closest person to Fernando,” he said. “If they went for him, they are coming for me.”

The journalist has been campaigning in a bulletproof vest, and sent his family into hiding as a precaution.

“We now have a collapsed state,” he says of his county, where homicides were up by 80 percent in the first half of 2023.
