The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, called Donald Trump ‘an idiot’ before relying on the former President to get him elected as the Governor of Florida in 2018, according to a feature piece published on Ron and his wife Jill “Casey” DeSantis.
During his unremarkable, five-year stint as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives between 2013 and 2018, DeSantis would spend his time talking to his staff about “the Constitution, baseball, and golf.”
The only times DeSantis joked around with his former staffers were apparently at Trump’s expense: “The one thing they joked about, the former staffersaid, was Trump.”
“Ron always said this guy was just an idiot.”
Despite this, Governor DeSantis went on to beg for Trump’s endorsement in the run-up to the Florida gubernatorial election in November 2018, meeting the former President “with tears in his eyes” before asking for “a favor.”
The full feature, which has been described as a “hit piece” by Ron DeSantis’s staffers, can be read here. The campaign, nor the Governor, have denied the allegations.

Four young children have been rescued from an apartment in Boston, Massachusetts, where first responders found them surrounded by filth, drugs, and sex toys as “an adult man reportedly wearing a wig” tried to hide them. The responders had attended the scene, apparently a drag party, after receiving reports of an unconscious person who turned out to be a dead black transgender person.
The group of “six adults who appeared to be men dressed as women” were uncooperative when the responders arrived at the apartment, and denied the four youngsters, aged four to ten, were present, according to reports. City Councilor Erin Murphy said the fireman who found the children in a back room, despite the efforts of a man in drag claiming to be their father to conceal them, found the scene “really disturbing”.
“They just seemed scared,” Murphy said of the children, describing the “uncleanliness in the apartment, lots of sex toys and drug paraphernalia all over the place.” The dead trans person on the floor of the apartment was apparently killed by an overdose, and an investigation has been opened – but no arrests had been made as of the time of publication.
All four children, whose relationship with the men at the drag party remains unconfirmed, have been placed into care.

Barack Obama has complained that the loss of a submarine surveying the wreckage of the Titanic received more news coverage than the sinking of a fishing trawler being used to transport illegal aliens from North Africa to Europe. The Democrat complained in Athens that the “minute-to-minute, coverage, all around the world” of the submarine’s disappearance, compared to the migrant boat, was “untenable”.
The Titan, as the OceanGate submersible was called, is now confirmed lost, likely imploded not long after diving, with its five passengers, including woke owner Stockton Rush, a British billionaire, and one of Pakistan’s richest men, all killed. Despite the U.S. Navy believing it had detected the implosion days ago, there was speculation it was merely stuck on the seabed. “Banging noises” detected by sonar fuelled speculation the crew was still alive and awaiting rescue as their oxygen supply ran out, feeding the media frenzy as their theoretical clock ticked down.
The sinking of the migrant boat referenced by Obama, in contrast, was a more open-and-shut affair. The vessel went down in Greek waters en route to Italy with the authorities and nearby vessels all well aware of it. Rescue operations, which retrieved around 100 of its up to 700 passengers, were over and done with relatively quickly, and the cause of the sinking – overcrowding – was never a mystery.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is teaching children about masturbation with a video showing adults talking to children about their genitals, as part of the new ‘Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)’ guidelines.
The clip shows an adult telling a nine-year-old girl, “sex is not only functional when you’re just making babies. I’ve said before that it’s also fun to do, you discover how your body works, and how my body works.”
The same woman then explains to the girl that touching your clitoris “gives you a very nice feeling; it’s actually very nice when you’re touching that button. For example, you can rub it with your finger.”
Another adult is then shown asking a toddler: “Do you ever play with your d*ick? Do you ever play with your willy? Yes, and how does that feel?” Before asking whether the boy plays with his genitals at school.
CSE aims to “equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to… develop respectful and sexual relationships,” states a report from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Around a fifth of the staff at Europe’s highest-circulation newspaper, Bild, are being fired by owners Axel Springer SE, which also owns influential U.S. publications such as POLITICO and Business Insider. The move is part of a drive to replace human workers with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“[U]nfortunately [we will] be parting ways with colleagues who have tasks that in the digital world are performed by AI and/or automated processes,” Axel Springer told Bild staff in an email leaked to a rival German publication.
The firings are expected to slash around 200 jobs from the tabloid’s formerly 1,000-strong workforce, and follows Axel Springer boss Mathias Döpfner declaring that AI “has the potential to make independent journalism better than it ever was – or simply replace it” earlier this year.
Döpfner is a friend of Twitter owner Elon Musk, urging him to buy the social media platform and offering to run it for him before he took it over.

The Australian government is threatening to impose fines of up to $475,000 a day on Twitter if it is not satisfied the platform is doing enough to censor alleged “hate”, with the country’s “eSafety Commissioner” complaining that the reinstatement of some previously suspended accounts has “emboldened extreme polarisers, peddlers of outrage and hate, including neo-Nazis”.
Commissioner Julie Inman Grant, who was a Twitter executive before the Elon Musk takeover, alleges there has been a “worrying surge in hate online” and the platform “appears to have dropped the ball”.
Her department says the rise in complaints it has received coincides with Musk’s takeover and the “slashing of Twitter’s global workforce from 8,000 employees to 1,500 including in its trust and safety teams”. It has issued a legal demand that he explains “what the social media giant is doing to tackle online hate” under Australia’s Online Safety Act.
Like the United Kingdom and the European Union, Australia lacks First Amendment-style free speech protections. Musk has previously indicated that Twitter would submit to upcoming EU censorship laws, and its compliance with government requests for content restrictions has actually increased under his leadership.

A Republican mayor has been forced out of his position in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, by a coalition of Democrats and his own party members because he refused to fly the “pride” flag above the local town hall.
Perrin Mosca was removed from his position following a vote by his fellow committee members, comprising three Republicans and a lone Democrat.
Mosca objected to flying the LGBTQIA+ flag at a Rochelle Park council meeting at the end of May, arguing, “[a] majority had agreed that as a township we would not put up any flags that singled out one group over another group. That should have been the end of the issue.”
Mosca further explained that “private flags do not belong on public property,” adding that only the American flag, state flag, and the local township flag should be displayed, with other flags only causing greater division.
This is not the first time a local council member has been ousted for objecting to fly the pride flag. A British councillor was forced out of her position for arguing that “sex is for the bedroom, not for displaying preferences in public” earlier this year.

Hispanics are officially the largest ethnic group in Texas, accounting for 12 million residents against 11.9 million non-Hispanic whites. Census data shows roughly 223,000 Hispanic residents were added to the Lone Star state’s population between July 2021 and July 2022, with a Census Bureau demographer telling local media the Hispanic population rose by 1.9 percent last year.
Latinos make up the largest ethnic bloc in 77 of 254 counties in Texas, accounting for 45 percent of residents in Harris County, which is home to Houston and the most populous in the state, and 41 percent of residents in Dallas County, for example. As Texas is a border state subject to large influxes of illegals, these percentages could in fact be even higher than the census data suggests.
The demographic shift could have significant implications not just for Texas but the wider U.S., given its status as the second-largest state by population and electoral college votes after California.
The Democrats received 60 percent of Latino votes in the 2022 mid-terms, and have received a large majority of Latino votes in every mid-term and presidential election for decades.

The attorney who advised Donald Trump on his options challenging the outcome of the 2020 election, Dr. John Eastman, has been denied the right to call expert witnesses questioning the reliability of voting machines in the State Bar Court of California, where he faces disbarment in a clearly partisan hearing.
Prosecutors, on the other hand, have been allowed to call witnesses praising the supposed reliability of voting machines, causing Eastman’s lawyers to protest the judicial bias. The news comes less than a week after the explosive Halderman Report was released, detailing how voting machines are inherently dangerous and present endless, easily exploitable security flaws.
Randy Miller, representing Dr. Eastman, argued Judge Yvette Roland’s moves represented “distinct prejudice,” allowing only “half the story” to be told. The State Bar Council said their evidence should be admitted while Eastman’s should not “because ours is from the government.”
The State Bar’s main charge against Eastman is that advising then-President Trump that then-Vice President Mike Pence could, as President of the Senate, delay certifying questionable votes while state legislatures reconsidered them was an act of “moral turpitude, dishonesty, and corruption.” Election fraud deniers insist Pence had no such authority, but Eastman has provided substantial evidence that his interpretation of the President of the Senate’s powers was valid.
Greg Jacob, a lawyer for Pence called to testify against Eastman, admitted in court that “[t]here is a section in the Constitution that is at best ambiguous whether the Vice President can reject electoral slates.” This admission of ambiguity should help Eastman undermine the State Bar’s charge that his interpretation of Pence’s powers was not just wrong, as prosecutors contend, but that Eastman had to know it was wrong.

The European Union (EU) has agreed that spyware and surveillance tools could be installed on the computers and phones of journalists to identify anonymous sources in the name of ‘national security.’
If journalists are under any form of criminal investigation, whether that be from murder to bicycle thefts or music piracy, European governments are now permitted to install “intrusive surveillance software” on their devices.
The legislation expands on legal “loopholes,” which permitted governments to install spyware on the personal devices for terrorism offenses.
However, France has criticized the intrusiveness of the measures, arguing it is “essential to strike a fair balance between the need to protect the confidentiality of journalists’ sources and the need to protect citizens and the state against serious threats … whoever the perpetrators may be.”
“The particularly exorbitant nature of this immunity raises questions,” argued a confidential French diplomatic document leaked to POLITICO.
A further 65 organizations, such as the European Digital Right (EDRi), the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and several human rights groups, have written a letter to the European Commission demanding the proposed laws be scrapped.
