White House Announces More Than 500 New Sanctions Against Russia.

The Biden Treasury Department plans to impose over 500 new sanctions on Russia on Friday, the largest single group of sanctions the U.S. has leveled against Russia since it invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The sanctions follow a series of recent arrests and indictments targeting Russian businessmen, including the head of Russia’s second-largest bank, announced by the Justice Department on Thursday.

The White House promised significant sanctions in response to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in an Arctic penal colony. Biden, who met with Navalny’s wife and daughter on Thursday, said the sanctions would be “against Putin, who is responsible for his death.” The Russian government maintains that Navalny died of natural causes.
The new sanctions add to the thousands of others that have already been imposed on Russian officials, businessmen, banks, companies, and whole industries since the war began.

The sanctions are part of a larger effort on the part of the Biden administration to maintain its support for Ukraine in the face of Republican opposition to increased funding of the war. Republicans in Congress are largely opposed to sending any more financial aid to Ukraine, especially as the U.S. border crisis continues unabated and unaddressed.

WATCH: Pelosi Boasts She Protects Palestinian Terror Suspects from the FBI.

Pressed on whether it is time for Joe Biden to get “tough on Israel,” Nancy Pelosi has boasted she has “protected” Palestinians in her district from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and attacked the Israeli prime minister.

“You know, I have a lot of Palestinians in my district, and I’ve protected them from the FBI going to Arabic bookstores, I’ve protected them after 9/11 to bring them together, we all were in the streets against the Muslim ban,” said the former House Speaker, mischaracterizing Donald Trump’s ban on travel to the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority countries where terrorist organizations controlled swathes of territory.

Pelosi may have been seeking to restore her reputation among Muslim voters, which was damaged after she claimed pro-Palestinian demonstrators protesting for a ceasefire were peddling “Mr. Putin’s message” and urged the FBI to investigate them.

The 83-year-old also took aim at Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming she “had it with Netanyahu years ago, I mean, really, not trying to make peace or anything all along.”

She suggested she much preferred President Isaac Herzog, saying: “[H]e’s a decent person, he’s not Netanyahu.”

War Criminal’s Daughter Says Trump Could Kill Political Opponents Like ‘Putin Did to Navalny.’

Former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney has suggested a reelected Donald Trump, “not subject to the rule of law,” would have political opponents killed, as Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny was allegedly killed in Russia.

“When you think about Donald Trump, for example, pledging retribution, what Vladimir Putin did to Navalny is what retribution looks like in a country where the leader is not subject to the rule of law,” she told CNN’s Jake Tapper, adding: “I think that we have to take Donald Trump very seriously.”

Navalny reportedly collapsed and died while exercising at the Arctic penal colony where he was being held prisoner last week. The official explanation for his death is said to be undetermined, although Putin’s detractors in the West insist he had the 47-year-old killed.

Cheney, daughter of Iraq War criminal Dick Cheney, also urged Speaker Mike Johnson to pass a massive new aid package to fund Volodymyr Zelensky’s government and armed forces in Ukraine, even if it means throwing away the Speakership.

“[Johnson] ought to understand that it is worth it if he has to lose his speakership in order to make sure that freedom survives, in order to make sure that the United States of America continues to play its leadership role in the world,” she insisted.

“He’s going to have to explain to future generations to his kids, to his grandkids whether or not he did what was right, whether or not he was a force for good and aided the cause of freedom, or whether he continued down this path of cowardice and doing what Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin wanted him to do,” she added.

Scotland’s Jew-Hating First Minister Vacations Alongside Hamas Leadership.

Humza Yousaf, the left-separatist First Minister of Scotland, is taking a vacation in Qatar, the Gulf dictatorship that hosts the most senior leaders of the Hamas terror organization.

Whether Yousaf, roughly equivalent to a U.S. state governor, intends to meet with the Qatari or Hamas leadership is unclear, but he has previously been reprimanded for holding unauthorized talks on the Israel-Hamas war with the President of Turkey.

He has previously argued a peace deal should be brokered through the Qataris. While his official stance on Hamas is that their terror raid on October 7th was an “atrocity,” he vowed the Scottish government would keep sending money to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA), whose staff participated in the attack, after the British central government withdrew its funding.

Yousaf is married to a Palestinian and had relatives in Gaza when the current conflict began. He is lobbying for Gazan migrants to be imported to the United Kingdom in general and Scotland in particular en masse, as Afghans and Syrians were in recent years.

Ukraine Loses City of Avdiivka, ‘Russia’s Biggest Victory Since Failed Counteroffensive.’

Ukraine’s new head of the armed forces, Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian units from the eastern city of Avdiivka following four months of attacks from Russia. The strategic location has seen heavy fighting, with overwhelming Russian forces leaving Ukrainian troops outnumbered and outgunned. While the loss of Avdiivka is a significant setback in the ongoing conflict, Gen Syrskyi has claimed his strategy prioritizes the preservation of life over territorial control.

Avdiivka’s fall marks Moscow’s biggest victory since Ukraine’s failed counteroffensive last year. Despite considerable losses, Russia has been able to exploit its larger population and military force to replenish its ranks in the conflict more effectively than Ukraine. Gen Syrskyi’s controversial defensive tactics, which prioritize minimizing casualties, have come under scrutiny after Avdiivka and another Ukrainian city, Bakhmut, fell into Russian hands.

The shifting tides of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict are reportedly being influenced by global politics and resource availability. A refusal by U.S. taxpayers to continue funding a losing war, specifically a $95bn aid package for Ukraine that remains unsigned in the U.S., is said to have contributed to the retreat plans. The state of the conflict and the apparent eastern creep of Russian control continue to raise questions about Ukraine’s ability to effectively resist Russia’s campaign of aggression.

TV FOR STUPID PEOPLE: Fox Airhead Demands Biden Let Ukraine Attack Russia.

Fox News host Emily Compagno blasted President Joe Biden for being too soft on Russia, and for not being enough of a war hawk as far as the Ukraine war goes. Compagno says the president is not doing enough to assist Ukraine, even arguing that the ‘strings attached’ nature of the U.S. aid advances Russian interests and leaves Ukraine in a precarious position.

I underscore that because every dollar we have given to Ukraine has come with a condition that has only resulted in Ukraine being further hamstrung. Just like Israel, we have dictated that they cannot attack Russia uncertain fronts in certain cities.

We have given them conditions with certain tanks and armaments and whatever. So we are essentially saying here, be grateful for this, but this will not do the job. And in doing so, we further Putin’s interests.

U.S. Taxpayers Have Paid Almost $20M to Maintain Super Yacht Seized from Russian Oligarch.

The upkeep of a Russian oligarch’s super yacht seized by the United States government has cost American taxpayers almost $20 million. Belonging to Suleiman Kerimov, the $300 million super yacht was seized by the Department of Justice (DOJ) after the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned the Russian national as a suspected money launderer.

The Amadea, a 348-foot motor yacht, has cost the U.S. government around $600,000 a month to maintain. Payments to the crew cost roughly $360,000 a month, and fuel runs $75,000 a month. Other maintenance costs run an additional $165,000 a month. A $1.7 million annual insurance bill is also due this month. The mounting cost of upkeep has led the DOJ to ask a federal judge for permission to auction the vessel.

Kerimov’s super yacht was seized in April of 2022 while docked in the Pacific island nation of Fiji. Local Fijian law enforcement, coordinating with the FBI, took control of the vessel after the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia “…found that the Amadea [was] subject to forfeiture based on probable cause of violations of U.S. law.”

In addition to seizing the yacht, OFAC also blocked $1 billion controlled by the Delaware-based Heritage Trust, in which Kerimov has a controlling interest. According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the Russian oligarch used Heritage Trust as a conduit to launder funds into the United States. With those funds, Kerimov “invested in large public and private U.S. companies and managed by a series of U.S. investment firms and facilitators.”

‘Kiss My Ass!’ – UK Foreign Sec Cameron Mocked on Capitol Hill After Ukraine Funding Demand.

Congressional Republicans are slamming UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron for comparing them to appeasers of Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene led the defiant response. “That’s hilarious. David Cameron can kiss my ass,” Greene, who is opposed to additional Ukraine funding, told the Daily Mail.

Cameron’s comparison came in an op-ed published in The Hill on Wednesday urging Congress to approve a $95 billion ‘aid’ package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. “I do not want us to show the weakness displayed against Hitler in the 1930s. He came back for more, costing us far more lives to stop his aggression,” Cameron wrote.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) echoed Greene’s comments, calling Cameron’s statement “laughable.” He added that he has a “rich disdain for such an immature opinion.” Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) said that it would be “nice” if “our British friends paid more attention to demanding that the rest of Europe contribute their fair share rather than demanding the United States sign a blank check.”

Many Congressional Republicans oppose passing any such foreign aid package before the U.S.-Mexico border is secured. Others, like Greene, oppose continued funding of an increasingly futile war in Ukraine on principle. This and the fact that several progressive Democrats oppose the bill for its continued support of Israel make its passage unlikely.

“We’re not afraid to go do what we need to do around the world when it’s necessary, but continuing to fund and to continue endless conflict, which is what we’ve been doing for the better part of two decades in this country is not in our national security interest,” said Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX). “I don’t believe it’s in the interest of the people of Ukraine,” he added.

Here’s What Trump Discussed With Tulsi Gabbard.

Donald Trump recently met with former Hawaii Congressman Tulsi Gabbard to discuss Pentagon reforms. Gabbard ran against Joe Biden for the Democrat nomination in 2020 and continues to criticize him over his foreign policy, particularly in Ukraine, and mismanagement of the southern border.

A Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and decorated Iraq War veteran, Gabbard earned a cult following for her strong stance against the U.S. intervening or otherwise involving itself in foreign wars in 2020. She is said to have discussed personnel changes at the Pentagon with Trump, who wants to ensure fewer war hawks are in place working to undermine his priorities if he is reelected.

“She appeals to Republicans who are skeptical of intervention overseas, which is now a majority of Republican voters,” said Andrew Surabian, an advisor to Donald Trump Jr. and Senator J.D. Vance.

In 2022, Gabbard left the Democratic Party, branding it an “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness” and accused them of “stok[ing] anti-white racism” and “weaponiz[ing] the national security state to go after political opponents” while “dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”

UK Foreign Sec Demands U.S. Congress Back Ukraine: ‘I Am Dropping Diplomatic Niceties.’

In a bizarre break from diplomatic norms, UK Foreign Secretary and former Prime Minister David Cameron is demanding the United States Congress send more money to Ukraine, writing for The Hill newspaper on Wednesday:  “As Congress debates and votes on this funding package for Ukraine, I am going to drop all diplomatic niceties. I urge Congress to pass it.”

The funding package to which Cameron refers is the $95 billion ‘aid’ package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan that passed in the Senate early Tuesday morning. It is likely dead on arrival in the House, however, as Republican Speaker Mike Johnson has signaled his unwillingness to take up the bill, and the use of a discharge petition to force a vote on the bill is unlikely to succeed, given progressive Democrat opposition to Israel’s war in Gaza.

“I want us all — U.S., U.K., European and other allies — to support Ukraine in fighting against completely unjustified aggression. It is hard to think of a clearer case of one country being invaded by another without the slightest justification,” Cameron wrote further.

Cameron’s claims that Ukraine is “fighting against completely unjustified aggression” are not strictly true, however. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, the West repeatedly broke promises not to expand NATO, increasingly pushing the alliance closer to Russia’s borders. The precarious diplomatic situation culminated in the Maidan Revolution in 2014, in which the CIA assisted in overthrowing the pro-Russian Ukrainian government, which in turn forced Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine to declare independence and set the stage for the current conflict.
