McCarthy & Allies Vow ‘Consequences’ for GOP Members Who Ousted Him.

Kevin McCarthy and his allies on Capitol Hill are threatening “consequences” for the “traitors” who removed the former House Speaker. Brian O. Walsh – a close McCarthy friend who runs an establishment political consultancy called Red Elephant – is working to recruit primary challengers to take on the eight Republicans who led the effort to oust the Californian as Speaker last year.

McCarthy and Walsh are preparing a ‘revenge tour’ — using the former Speaker’s donor network to raise funds to back the primary challengers.

“These traitors chose to side with Nancy Pelosi, AOC and over 200 Democrats to undermine the institution, their fellow Republicans and a duly elected Speaker,” Brian O. Walsh said in a statement. “There must be consequences for that decision.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filed a ‘motion to vacate’ against then-Speaker McCarthy after the Republican leader pushed through a temporary government funding measure without any attached spending cuts. A group of House conservatives led by Gaetz argued that McCarthy had violated an agreement he made at the start of 2023, which had secured the votes for his Speakership. Before McCarthy’s ouster, no Speaker had ever been successfully removed by a ‘motion to vacate.’

Almost immediately after his ouster, McCarthy began plotting his political revenge against those he believed betrayed him. When Republicans began electing a new Speaker, McCarthy and his allies worked behind the scenes to undermine several early candidates, including Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan. Little-known Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) eventually secured the voters to be elected Speaker.

Recently released campaign finance data reveals that McCarthy – who resigned from Congress at the end of December – has just under $10 million cash on hand that could be used to fund primary challengers. It remains to be seen if he can draw additional donor funds to underwrite his revenge efforts.

Trump Zeroes In On Critical Union Voters.

The support of union households across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada increasingly appears to be the critical swing vote in the 2024 presidential election. An ‘arms race’ is underway between President Joe Biden’s and former President Donald Trump’s campaigns to secure the votes of rank-and-file union members. However, data shows that former President Trump may hold an early edge.

Just before the 2020 election, internal polling conducted by POLITICO showed a near dead-heat between Biden and Trump with 48 and 47 percent of the union vote, respectively. A similar trend is emerging in polling data heading into the 2024 election. Former President Donald Trump and President Biden have shown to be tied at 47 percent each among union voters, according to a recent poll. The erosion of union support for Democrats, as well as Republican gains under Trump, in large part explains the former President’s consistent lead in swing-state polling.

Trump Prioritizes Union Workers.

Trump has made it a point to court union voters this election cycle. During the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike last year, he traveled to Michigan, where he delivered a historic policy speech laying out his “Patriotic Protectionism” agenda. During the strike, the former President expressed a certain degree of solidarity with the auto workers and noted Biden’s electric car mandates were hurting the American auto industry.

Despite UAW president Shawn Fain announcing the union will back Biden, rank-and-file members indicate they’re willing to break for Trump.

The Michigan speech was followed by Trump sitting down with Teamsters union leader Sean O’Brien late last year. That meeting was followed up earlier this week with the former President sitting down again with O’Brien and rank-and-file Teamsters members to discuss his agenda should he retake the White House. When asked about a potential Teamsters endorsement, Trump said: “Stranger things have happened.”

Union Votes Can Swing Key States.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the United States has 14.2 million union members. During the 2020 election, former President Trump saw significant gains among union households in Ohio and Pennsylvania — with the former President only narrowly losing the latter to Biden. In Wisconsin and Michigan, however, Joe Biden was able to hold his vote margins among union members, heading off Trump’s efforts to flip both states in his favor again.

WATCH: Bannon Blasts Nikki Haley, Ronna McDaniel at Turning Point’s RNC Counter-Convention.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Former Trump White House Advisor Stephen K. Bannon blasted Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley from the stage at the Turning Point ‘Restoring National Confidence’ Summit in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Addressing a raucous cadre of Trump supporters in the same Planet Hollywood ballroom that Trump himself burst to our attention from in 2015, Bannon also took aim at Ronna McDaniel’s RNC for allowing a damaging internecine primary against Trump.

“Did the DNC let Joe Biden be primaried?” He asked. “No. They said ‘not gonna happen’. He’s an incumbent president. Well Donald Trump is an incumbent president,” he remarked to applause.

The speech was the culmination of a three-day conference ostensibly organized by Turning Point USA to urge Republican National Committee delegates to push McDaniel out of her role as RNC chairman, which has been marred by lost elections, wasteful spending, and a GOP run almost entirely by establishment consultants.

McDaniel begins her own charm offensive to her delegates in Las Vegas on Wednesday when the RNC begins its ‘Winter Meeting.’

Trump Leads Biden In ALL SEVEN Swing States.

Donald Trump now leads Joe Biden in all seven swing states by margins of up to ten points. Nationally, Trump leads the incumbent by six points, according to Morning Consult, with his lead increasing to nine points when third-party candidates are taken into account.

Trump’s strongest lead over Biden is in North Carolina, where he is ten points clear of the 81-year-old Democrat. He also holds strong eight-point leads over Biden in Nevada and Georgia, five-point leads in Wisconsin and Michigan, and three-point leads in Pennsylvania and Arizona.

Previous polling found Trump ahead of Biden by two points nationally, with a 12-point advantage among Independents. The new results suggest Biden is not improving his position.

The Democrat’s mismanagement of the southern border crisis appears to be particularly damaging for him, with six in ten respondents holding him responsible for the situation.

On Tuesday, House Republicans approved articles of impeachment against Biden’s Cuba-born Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, for failure to comply with the law and breach of public trust.

Pro-Life Activists Face 11 Years in Jail at Hands of Biden DOJ.

A Nashville grand jury charged six peaceful pro-life activists with violating the FACE Act and conspiracy against rights after the Biden Justice Department brought charges in 2022.

What is the FACE Act? It’s a 1994 law that prohibits threats, obstruction, and physical violence against patients and employees of abortion and reproduction health centers [this includes pro-life centers].

Back up: On March 5, 2021, pro-life activists held a peaceful protest outside a Tennessee abortion clinic, which the DOJ claims prevented a patient and employee from entering.

  • Livestream footage shows them praying, singing hymns, and urging women to reconsider their decision to seek an abortion.
  • The stream shows some protestors sitting in front of the clinic door and refusing to move when asked.

Penalty: All six defendants [Chet Gallagher, Coleman Boyd, Heather Idoni, Cal Zastrow, Paul Vaughn, and Dennis Green] – face up to 10.5 years in prison and fines of up to $260,000.

Disproportionate distribution of justice: The defendants argued that the Biden DOJ disproportionately seeks charges against pro-lifers while choosing not to use the FACE Act against abortionists who protest at pro-life centers and churches.

The numbers seem to back up their accusations. According to data compiled by the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, the Biden regime has used the FACE Act:

  • 126 times to charge pro-life activists
  • 3 times to charge pro-abortion activists
The last word: Rep. Mike Lee summed it up on X, writing: “Bottom line: the Biden administration incarcerates people for praying at abortion clinics while ignoring violent acts at churches and pregnancy centers.”

Patagonia Is Spending MILLIONS of Firm Profits on Far-Left Causes.

Outdoor clothing company Patagonia is spending millions of its profits on far-left causes — including $1 million to help elect Democrats across the country — a report in The New York Times reveals.

In 2022, Patagonia’s founder, Yvon Chouinard, gave up ownership of the famous outdoor apparel brand. At the time, Chouinard declared that all of the company’s future profits would be used to “give away the maximum amount of money to people who are actively working on saving this planet.” Since then, those profits — totaling more than $71 million — have been distributed to various campaigns and causes via an entity called the Holdfast Collective.

The Holdfast Collective has so far given “$1 million to help elect Democrats around the country, including $200,000 to a super PAC this month,” according to the Times. Recipients of those funds include the Senate Majority PAC and House Majority PAC.

The spending is raising concern among conservatives about the Hodlfast Collective’s influence. Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of the conservative watchdog group Americans for Public Trust, called Holdfast “a $1.7 billion political organization in waiting” and said her group plans to file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission for incorrectly reporting donations as having come from the Holdfast Collective instead of the nonprofit groups it administers. The Holdfast Collective’s funneling money to Democratic political causes appears at odds with Chouinard’s pledge to use company profits for environmental causes. “I personally fail to see the connection between spending money on abortion and climate change,” Sutherland noted.

Biden SuperPAC Makes Largest Ad Purchase in U.S. History to Target Battleground States.

The Democrat SuperPAC backing President Biden’s re-election bid is reserving television air time it claims will be the largest political ad buy in U.S. history. Future Forward plans to reserve $250 million worth of advertising through a variety of mediums across the country.

Future Forward says the bulk of its ad buy  — $140 million — will be committed to television, while the remaining $110 million will be spread across digital and streaming services. The spending represents a significant uptick from the group’s expenditure during Biden’s 2020 campaign, in which the Democrat-aligned SuperPAC spent $151 million.

Swing State Media Blitz

The SuperPAC plans to target critical battlegrounds, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with a barrage of ads from August to Election Day. Future Forward’s campaigns are expected to spotlight topics such as Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act and various Latino concerns in Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

President Biden’s 2024 campaign committee and the PrioritiesUSA SuperPAC have already rolled out a strategy centered around a significant use of social media to mainly target the presumptive Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump. The SuperPAC and Biden campaign’s aggressive spending is likely in response to recent polls showing Trump leading the Democrat incumbent in most swing states.

Polls indicate that concerns about the 81-year-old Biden’s advanced age, his handling of inflation, increasing global instability, and the ongoing border crisis are fueling voter uncertainty toward his re-election.

‘We Need to Do It’ – Ex-UK Foreign Secretary Urges Return of ‘National Service’.

Lord William Hague, a former British Foreign Secretary and Conservative Party leader, is urging the government to introduce a modern form of the universal draft as the country further embroils itself in wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Hague, now a lawmaker in the House of Lords, wants Britain’s major political parties to commit to a Norwegian-style draft ahead of national elections this year. This would involve roughly a fifth of youngsters being conscripted to serve in uniform for 12 to 18 months, forming a reserve and enabling the military to expand to 870,000-strong in a crisis.

He wrote in the Times of London this week:

National Service is firmly associated with the past. It’s what they did in the 1940s and 1950s, isn’t it? That was our dads and grandads. How very 20th century. It is not seen as compatible with our hyper-individualistic age. How dare we disturb the idea that everyone has a lot of rights without any responsibility to protect them?

Most people with such fears can rest easy: the last thing the army needs is several million unwilling conscripts on its hands. But now we need the 21st-century version of National Service: not its return but its reinvention, bringing the prospect of skills, motivation, recognition and inclusion for individuals while ensuring the security of the country.

Sweden has just set an example of this, reinstating civic duty for 18-year-olds, which includes training in emergency services or maintaining vital infrastructure as alternatives to the armed forces. “Citizenship is not a travel document,” explained the Swedish prime minister, but comes with obligations as well.

Trump’s Lead Over Biden Grew Again After the E. Jean Carroll Verdict.

Donald Trump has maintained his lead over Joe Biden nationally in the latest Morning Consult poll, with a particularly strong 12-point lead over the incumbent among Independents. The data comes on the back of the E. Jean Carroll verdict against Trump, wherein a Manhattan jury awarded the advice columnist a whopping $83M.

Overall support for Trump stands at 44 percent, while support for Biden stands at 42 percent — a slight narrowing of the gap since the last Morning Consult poll.

Trump’s lead among Independents is much stronger, however. His share of Independent support had increased by four points to 42 percent, while Biden’s share of Independent support languishes at just 30 percent, far behind his predecessor despite a two-point bump.

Contrary to the claims of Trump’s GOP rival Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley, the survey also suggests he is the “more electable” of the two. This is due to “a significant appetite among Republicans for a third-party vote in the event of a Biden-Nikki Haley matchup — especially in battleground states.”

The 45th President continues to dominate Haley in primary polling, 81 percent to 18 percent.

Is China Behind America’s Far-Left Climate Groups?

Republican leaders from three top House committees are investigating the Energy Foundation, an environmental group with alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The inquiry follows a Fox News Digital report detailing $3.8 million in contributions from the Energy Foundation to U.S. climate groups. These include the Rocky Mountain Institute, the International Council on Clean Transportation, and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)

The chairs of the House Energy and Commerce, Science Space and Technology, and Natural Resources committees — Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Frank Lucas (R-OK), and Bruce Westerman (R-Ark) — sent a letter to Energy Foundation CEO and President Ji Chou notifying him of their investigation.

“China has already attempted to influence United States policy and opinion regarding China through covert influence and exploit perceived societal divisions,” McMorris Rodgers, Lucas, and Westerman wrote. “As such, we are alarmed by attempts of China-affiliated organizations attempting to influence United States energy policy.”

While the Energy Foundation’s headquarters is in San Francisco, most of its operations are based in China, and its staff has extensive connections to the CCP. The group refers to itself as “Energy Foundation China” and split from the United States Energy Foundation in 2020. Many of its members have served in high-ranking roles within Chinese government agencies and state-run research institutions. Chou previously served as the deputy director general of China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy.

The GOP leaders involved in the investigation requested documents and contracts linked to the Energy Foundation’s financial transactions. The investigation is part of broader Republican efforts to analyze how Chinese entities might influence environmental groups and their increasing engagement with the Chinese government on climate change issues.
