EU Begins Negotiations to Absorb Muslim-Majority Bosnia.

The European Union (EU) has officially initiated negotiations to absorb Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of Europe’s only Muslim-majority states.

“Congratulations! Your place is in our European family. Today’s decision is a key step forward on your EU path,” declared Charles Michel,  European Council president, Charles Michel, the President of the European Council.

Bosnia is still suffering the effects of the wars that wracked the Balkans during the breakup of Yugoslavia, and the government is at odds with the Serb minority in the separatist-minded Republika Srpska region. It could, therefore, prove to be one of the EU’s most controversial acquisitions, with the bloc still requiring it to meet various demands on corruption and electoral and judicial reform before accession.

EU leaders have also called on Brussels to “swiftly” move ahead with preparing the ground for Moldova and Ukraine, one at war and both home to substantial ethnic Russian populations, to accede.

All such member states would eventually enter into the Free Movement migration regime if admitted to the EU, and gain access to a budget that has become increasingly strained since Brexit.

Illegal Immigration to Europe Surges 541% via West African Route.

The European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex, reports illegal immigration into Europe via the so-called West African route has surged by 541 percent over the last two months. This surge represents the highest count for the period since Frontex began collecting data in 2011.

Human trafficking outfits in Mauritania — infamous for not having criminalized slavery until 2007 and for allowing it to persist at scale outside the law — have been reportedly pushing sub-Saharan migrants through the country to the Canary Islands.

The Canaries, off the coast of West Africa, belong to Spain and therefore qualify as European Union (EU) soil. Migrants are reaching the islands in makeshift boats, known locally as “cayuco” boats, with many drowning due to their unseaworthiness.

The Eastern Mediterranean illegal immigration route from Turkey to Greece, meanwhile, saw a 117 percent increase in arrivals, while the Western Mediterranean route from North Africa to mainland Spain saw a 48 percent increase.

The Central Mediterranean route from North Africa to Italy has bucked the trend with a 70 percent drop, although this follows earlier record increases under Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

However, Frontex does not appear particularly interested in helping EU governments protect their borders, with agency head Hans Leijtens urging governments to abandon the “narrative” of “stopping people” in January.

“Nothing can stop people from crossing a border, no wall, no fence, no sea, no river,” he claimed.

Nationalist Party Introduces NATO Exit Bill: ‘Repressive Apparatus of the USA.’

Bulgaria’s right-wing nationalist party Vazrazhdane (Revival) has introduced legislation to withdraw Bulgaria from NATO the same month as the country’s 20th anniversary of membership in the alliance. The party argues that continued membership in the organization is detrimental to Bulgaria’s national security.

“NATO is the repressive apparatus of the USA, where the member states are anything but equal partners,” reads the argument for the bill. Vazrazhdane claims that U.S. weapons and support are fueling the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The bill has zero chance of adoption in parliament, however Vazrazhdane‘s goal in introducing the bill is to bolster voter support ahead of the European elections in June.

As with other right-wing populist and nationalist parties across Europe, support for Vazrazhdane in Bulgaria is growing. The party is expected to take around 13 percent of the vote in the EU elections and around 10 percent of the vote in national parliamentary elections. The party placed third in Bulgaria’s latest parliamentary elections in April 2023.

An analysis performed last year found that around a third of Europeans now vote for right-wing populist parties.

Eurosceptic Non-Profit Launches.

Former Trump-admin officials Matt Mowers and Joe Grogan are establishing a non-profit called the EU-US Forum. Their mission is to expose what they term as threatening policies from Europe that are “infiltrating” their way into American governance, including mass immigration and the censorship of political speech.

As a former senior White House advisor at the State Department, Mowers says he is all too familiar with the impacts of such ideologies. “Thanks to the European Union’s left-wing dangerous agenda, Europe has become a hotbed for illegal immigration, the home to mass censorship of free speech, and a case study for the failures of socialism,” he said in a statement.

Together with Grogan, the former director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, the duo says their group aims to combat the spread of socialist policies — like electric vehicle mandates, universal healthcare, and the suppression of free speech — from the European Union into the United States. Their initiative will center around five key policy areas: business and corporate taxation, environmental regulation and policy, meritocracy, political censorship, and immigration policy.

According to Mowers, Europe has turned into a hub for illegal immigration and free speech censorship due to the EU’s left-leaning agenda. He stresses the EU-US Forum’s commitment to resisting “the radical policies originating in Brussels” from gaining traction among American voters.

The EU-US Forum’s policy initiatives reflect a more Eurosceptic stance that was dominant during former President Donald Trump’s first term in office. Meanwhile, the Biden government has undertaken efforts to strengthen ties with the European Union.

The Next Orbán? ‘Illiberal’ European Leader Rankles EU, Leading to Threats.

Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, is attracting the same negative attention as Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán as he adopts similar policies against mass migration and the sanctions war with Russia.

The “illiberal” politician, whose Smer party is notionally democratic socialist but populist in practice, is already being threatened with sanctions, including the withholding of European Union funding.

This is to discourage Fico from becoming what German-owned POLITICO describes as “a thorn in the EU’s side,” like Orbán.

“The [European] Commission is way more inclined to not repeat the mistakes that happened in Hungary about a situation that was tolerated for way too long and Orbán was allowed to escalate,” warned European Parliament Vice President Martin Hojsík, referring to the EU’s unelected executive.

The pretext for action against Fico, as in the case of Hungary and, under its former conservative government, Poland, will likely come in the form of alleged “rule of law” violations.

Fico is abolishing the Special Prosecutor’s Office, which he accuses of having “significantly contributed to the violation of human rights” by abusing its power.

Liberal and left-wing figures within Slovakia and the wider European Union insist this is a “dangerous case of political interference,” while Fico’s supporters argue he is simply exercising his democratic mandate to reform Slovakia’s Deep State.

Fico began his third non-consecutive term as Prime Minister in late 2023, having served previously from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2018. Like Donald Trump, he was hit with a string of criminal charges — now dropped — after leaving office and is accused of governing on a platform of “revenge.”

Here’s The Year China Will Invade Taiwan, According to a U.S. Admiral.

In testimony before the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, Admiral John Aquilino, head of the Indo-Pacific Command, revealed that China is accelerating its nuclear and military capabilities in preparation for a potential invasion of Taiwan by 2027.

“All indications point to the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) meeting President Xi Jinping’s directive to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027,” Aquilino said. “The PLA’s actions indicate their ability to meet Xi’s preferred timeline to unify Taiwan with mainland China by force if directed.”

Aquilino noted that China also possesses advanced modern systems that would enable it to exert significant control in the Pacific.  “The People’s Liberation Army is fielding modern systems like hypersonic weapons and fifth-generation fighters,” he said. “They can project power well into the Pacific with a 340 ship navy that includes a new aircraft carrier and nuclear powered ballistic missile submarines.”

China requested in February that the U.S. sever all official ties with Taiwan following Taiwanese elections that saw anti-China politicians take power. “China opposes any form of official interaction between the U.S. and Taiwan authorities and rejects U.S. interference in Taiwan affairs in whatever form or under whatever pretext,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

Most Americans Want to Stop Sending Weapons to Israel.

Over half of Americans believe the U.S. government should stop supplying weapons to Israel.

A recent YouGov poll commissioned by the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) found that 52 percent of Americans believe the Biden regime “should stop weapons shipments to Israel until Israel discontinues its attacks on the people of Gaza.”

The poll revealed a slight split along partisan lines. Sixty-two percent of those who voted for Biden in 2020 agreed with stopping weapons shipments, while only 14 percent disagreed. Conversely, 30 percent of Americans who voted for Trump in 2020 wish to stop weapons shipments to Israel. Sixty percent of those who did not vote in 2020 wish the government to stop sending weapons to Israel until a ceasefire in Gaza is reached.

Israel’s military action in Gaza has reportedly resulted in over 30,600 Palestinians dead and approximately 72,000 wounded. Moreover, the conflict has triggered significant internal displacement in Gaza, with a markedly inadequate supply of food, water, and medication for 85 percent of Gaza’s population.

As concerns mount over the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, many believe the U.S. should assume a hands-off approach to the Israel-Hamas dispute, considering the potential implications on wider regional stability. Such restraint echoes the sentiments of American voters in requesting a temporary halt in supplying weapons to Israel.

Once a stalwart supporter of the Israeli war effort, the Biden regime has been increasingly distancing itself from Israel in an attempt to woo Arab, Muslim, and progressive voters.

French Finance Minister Says He Won’t Fly Boeing.

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said he now avoids Boeing aircraft due to safety concerns.

“I now prefer flying in Airbus over Boeing – my family too, they care about me,” Le Maire said at the Europe 2024 conference in Berlin. Guillaume Faury, the chief executive officer of Airbus SE — Boeing’s lead competitor — was in the audience.

Faury distanced himself from Le Maire’s remarks, saying he was “not happy with the problems of my competitor,” adding: “Aviation attracts a lot of attention on safety. What I take is humility, not complacency.”

Safety concerns regarding Boeing’s aircraft have been growing after several high-profile accidents involving the company’s  737 MAX line. Following two fatal crashes and an episode of uncontrolled decompression in an airplane, the model was grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for further inspections.

The FAA’s six-week audit of Boeing’s 737 production found “multiple instances” of failures to meet quality control requirements. The FAA failed Boeing on 33 of 89 product audits and recorded 97 instances of Boeing noncompliance. Spirit AeroSystems — which makes the 737 Max’s fuselage — failed seven of 13 product audits.

Earlier this month, Boeing whistleblower John Barnett — who raised safety concerns about Boeing production issues — was found dead from an allegedly self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, before his death, Barnett warned a friend that “if anything happens to me, it’s not suicide.”

France Sends 2,000 Troops to Ukraine, Russia Warns They Will Be PRIORITY Target.

Russian intelligence has said that France is assembling a military contingent of approximately 2,000 troops to be deployed in Ukraine, and that these troops will present a “priority target” for Russia.

“The current leadership of [France] does not care about the deaths of ordinary French people or about the concerns of the generals,” SVR Director Sergey Naryshkin said. “According to information coming to the Russian SVR, a contingent to be sent to Ukraine is already being prepared. Initially, it will include around 2,000 troops.”

France “fears that such a large military unit cannot be transferred and stationed in Ukraine unnoticed,” Naryshkin said. “It will thus become a legitimate priority target for attacks by the Russian armed forces. This means that it will suffer the fate of all the French who have ever come to the Russian world with a sword,” emphasized Naryshkin, likely in reference to Napoleon’s disastrous 1812 invasion of Russia. Naryshkin could also have been referring to Infanterieregiment 638 and SS Volunteer Sturmbrigade France — French troops who fought for Nazi Germany and took part in the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The Russian government has long stressed that ‘de-Nazification‘ is a central goal of its military action in Ukraine.

The revelations of a pending deployment of French troops to Ukraine follow a series of increasingly belligerent remarks from French President Emmanuel Macron.

Populist Leader Marion Maréchal: Europe Is ‘Digital Colony of U.S., Economic Colony of China, Demographic Colony of Africa.’

Leading French populist Marion Maréchal has lamented Europe’s loss of independence in various spheres and warned mass migration could lead to it being effectively transformed into another country.

“I wake up at 34 years old in a European Union which has become a digital colony of the United States, an economic colony of China, [and] a demographic colony of Africa,” she said, adding that it is also “on the way to becoming a colony of Islam.”

Muslims accounted for around a tenth of the French population as of 2019-20. France has also suffered more radical Islamic terror attacks than any other European country, including the November 2015 attacks in Paris that saw 130 murdered and over 410 injured in a series of suicide bombings and mass shootings, and the July 2016 attacks in Nice that saw 86 killed and over 430 wounded by a North African migrant driving a heavy truck.

Maréchal is the niece of Marine Le Pen, the longtime leader of National Rally (formerly National Front) who contended for the French presidency in 2012, 2017, and 2022.

Maréchal served as a National Assembly member — roughly equivalent to a U.S. House Rep. — for National Rally from 2012 to 2017, but is now a candidate for Reconquest, a rival populist party headed by “French Tucker Carlson” Éric Zemmour.
