Imagine That Press Conference Was Delivered By Left-Wing Lawyers…

Another day, another unhinged meltdown by news reporters who privately will swear allegiance to the political left, but publicly pretend to be speaking truth to power. In reality, they’re speaking lies to you.

Following this evening’s White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing, D.C. reporters showed themselves (again) for the tantrum-throwing toddlers they are at heart. But it was the response to an earlier press event that is worthy of greater analysis, within the context of the past four years.

Imagine a leftist lawyer had given the press conference Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Joe DiGenova delivered earlier today.

It was lengthy, detailed, specific, and they took questions from anyone who wanted to ask. Still, this wasn’t enough.

Immediately, the establishment media pivoted.

Fox News called it “light on facts”. It wasn’t. And you can watch it for yourself to help decide.

Other media outlets focused on the fact that a man in his late 70s had recently dyed his hair. Shock and/or horror. It’s almost as if these “reporters” never had an elderly father and frankly sometimes it seems none of them had fathers at all.

Harsh? Probably. But also worthy of consideration.

The lack of discipline and indeed dignity emanating from Washington, D.C.’s press corps is enough to warrant the shut down of the Brady Briefing Room in toto. But the right doesn’t typically behave in such authoritarian fashion, no matter whose father never loved them.

Instead, Vice President Mike Pence among others extricated themselves from a situation that left CNN’s Kaitlin Collins and ABC’s Jonathan Karl screaming at a wooden door, and throwing their earpieces arounds like toddlers who had missed their afternoon naps.

But consider for moment what the headlines would be – on the chyrons of CNN, FOX, et al as well as on the front pages of tomorrow’s newspapers – if Rudy Giuliani were an attorney for the left:

“WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD,” they might say.

“DETAILED EVIDENCE EMERGES OF FRAUDULENT BIDEN VICTORY,” some would claim.

We know this from the level of gravitas such outlets lent to convicted legal fraudsters such as Michael Avenatti, over the past four years.

They also – on repeat and on command – gave Democrats the benefit of the doubt over countless, baseless accusations that played out over the partisan impeachment process.

In the meantime, leftist reporters privately communicate their embarrassment over their own side’s misgivings but never speak up publicly to help correct it.

Never was this more clear than several cases of campaign coverage: 1) Asking Joe Biden what flavor milkshake he had bought; and 2) Failing to report accurately, fairly, or even cogently on the release of details from Hunter Biden’s hard drive.

In the case of the latter, leftist reporters even told me to my face that while they acknowledged the veracity of the drive and its contents, their editors would never let them run stories based on the details within.

Shame.

So if you’re ever wondering why American politics is in the sorriest state we have ever seen it, remember that typically, governance struggles without a serious media contingent: a responsible and proper fourth estate.

The Washington Post adopted the strapline “Democracy Dies in Darkness” after Trump’s election in 2016 but it now appears to be less of a warning and more of a mission statement.

Our only option as good human beings who seek to preserve the liberties entrusted to us by our forebears? Turn off. Tune out. Stop buying their garbage. And honestly? Seek to humiliate them at every turn.

I know I will.

Will you help us?
