An Open Letter to President George W. Bush

Dear President George W. Bush,

Hey, Mr. President! Great to hear from you.

We’ve missed you these past eight years. It would be great to have heard from you on Obamacare, the stimulus, the debt ceiling, Benghazi, or any of the other 32 crises and scandals during President Obama’s two terms. Oh well! Haha!

Don’t get me wrong, we’re glad to hear from you now! But still, it’s hard not to find it a little strange that you went dark for so long… and waited to lodge your first critique against a sitting president until he was a Republican.

Now, hear me out. I totally agree with you more than President Trump when it comes to immigration. But, honestly? I don’t think you’ve got much to stand on when it comes to handling the media. They were so unfair to you during your entire tenure as president, and you just let it happen. I wish you had stood up to them the way that President Trump has. Perhaps then we wouldn’t have lost the 2006 midterms and, maybe, just maybe, we would have saved the nation from the disastrous Obama years.

Anyway, I hope you’re well! Tell Jeb! I said hello. Love your artwork. Would love to golf with you some day.

Your friend,

Terry Schilling

P.S. I had a great time seeing you in Davenport in 2004. W ’04!
