Plot Against the President Director Amanda Milius Acquires Rights to John McAfee Movie.

Award-winning director Amanda Milius (The Plot Against the President) has acquired the film and television rights to No Domain: The John McAfee Tapes, Mark Eglinton’s upcoming book on pioneering tech leader, Libertarian presidential candidate, and legendary enigma that was John McAfee.

The stories chronicle McAfee’s life before his alleged and highly disputed suicide on June 23, 2021 in a Spanish prison cell. The rights to the book are being developed under Milius’s production company, AMDC, into a narrative feature and a separate documentary.

Milius beat out many major Hollywood production companies to acquire the rights from Eglinton, and commented, “I have a great fondness for brave men… the last movie we did was about moral courage, and I am extremely grateful to be working with an author whose bravery and loyalty to the subject shines through in this ultimate work about one of the most original iconoclastic, vibrant, exciting, and interesting men to have ever lived, John McAfee.”

Eglinton, an award-winning author, wrote No Domain from hours of conversation with McAfee, where he detailed life-changing experiences on LSD, founding his billion-dollar McAfee software company, work on CIA dark programs, and his time on the run from government authorities and Mexican drug cartels.

McAfee was allegedly framed for murder in Belize after his attempted nomination for president under the Libertarian Party. Much of the content of No Domain was provided while McAfee was on the run.

Prior to her work in entertainment, Milius served in the Trump Administration’s Department of State. She shot to fame with her documentary debunking the Russiagate hoax, The Plot Against The President, which was released in 2020.

Milius was one of the first public figures to shine a light on the Democratic National Committee officials and the deep state’s attempt to destroy the Trump Administration. The documentary was released more than a year before the Durham Investigation commencement.

The film cost $700,000, became profitable before release, and hit No. 1 on Amazon soon after its release. The Plot Against The President became profitable prior to release thanks in large to DVD pre-sales.

At the time, Milius said that she didn’t think anyone still watched DVDs. She was informed that the domestic and international market wanted a physical copy of the film because they did not trust that it would be readily available online.

Milius has stated that she is very conscious of Hollywood’s cancel culture, saying “Look, we understand that Hollywood is a North Korean like regime that demands ultimate obedience.”

“If high-skilled and interesting professional want to come work with us, the free dissident film creators, and use anonymous  names, we’d be happy to check them out. In the meantime, we’re doing pretty well and having a lot of fun with our team of rebels.”

In previous conversations with The Hollywood Reporter, Milius has said of the mainstream entertainment industry, “If Hollywood is going to make an ideological business decision to not produce content that the majority of America wants to see, I don’t have any problem with that, because they’re leaving a giant pile of money on the table, and my company has no problem taking that.”

Milius is the daughter of John Milius, screenwriter the first two Dirty Harry films and Apocalypse Now. She’s argued that America needs to get back to making self-confident movies, like that of The Searchers, The John Wayne classic depicts how Christianity was brought to the American West, and tamed a “savage, undeveloped land.”

As a result of her work in the right-wing political space, Milius has become the bête noire of the Hollywood class, who appear to take shots at her at every opportunity on social media. She is not shy about her responses, recently calling pothead actor Seth Rogan a “manlette”.
