Border Patrol Union Endorses CA-50 Congressional Candidate Darrell Issa: ‘One of the Biggest Champions of Border Security’

Darrell Issa, Republican candidate for California’s 50th Congressional District, has been endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council.

Issa formerly served 9 consecutive terms in Congress from 2001 to 2019, representing a district close to the California-Mexico border.

He has a strong, proven track record on curtailing illegal immigration and reworking the legal immigration system to benefit American citizens. As his campaign website states: “My position on the border is simple: We must build the wall.”

While in Congress, he cosponsored a variety of bills aimed at reducing chain migration, eliminating the visa lottery, terminating birthright citizenship, enforcing E-Verify, and supporting border patrol agents in both strength and number.

With history like that, it’s no surprise he secured an endorsement from the Border Patrol Union. It also distinguishes him from his ‘pro-amnesty, Never Trumper’ primary opponent Carl DeMaio:

DeMaio is weak on the MAGA agenda (he agrees with Democrats on same-sex marriage, abortion, and some environmental issues”) and was even asked by understandably confused reporters: “what makes you a Republican?”

With Issa, there’s no question; he’s pro-wall, pro-border patrol, and genuinely pro-Trump.
