As liberals desperately defend the horrific actions of Planned Parenthood, an evil organization dedicated not to women’s health but to aborting babies and harvesting their organs for profit, it is important for pro-life conservatives to arm themselves with the truth.
Here are nine disturbing facts about Planned Parenthood, as compiled by our friends over at Susan B. Anthony List, a national pro-life organization:
1.) During fiscal year 2013-2014, Planned Parenthood received more than $528 million in taxpayer funding, or more than $1.4 million per day.
2.) Taxpayer funding accounts for 41 percent of Planned Parenthood’s overall revenue.
3.) In 2013, Planned Parenthood performed 327,653 abortions, a slight increase from the 327,166 abortions they performed in 2012.
4.) Over the past three reported years (2011-2013), Planned Parenthood has performed nearly one million abortions (988,783).
5.) In 2013, abortions made up 94 percent of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services, while prenatal care and adoption referrals accounted for only 5 percent (18,684) and 0.5 percent (1,880), respectively.
6.) For every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed 174 abortions.
7.) While abortions rose slightly, adoption referrals by Planned Parenthood dropped 14 percent in one year, and prenatal care services dropped 4 percent.
8.) Planned Parenthood’s cancer prevention services are down 17 percent over one year, and contraceptive services dropped by 4 percent.
9.) Planned Parenthood reported more than $127 million in excess revenue and more than $1.4 billion in net assets.
