Pope Francis is about to pull a Jedi mind trick on the entire Democratic Party.
Yesterday, Senate Democrats blocked the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill that would protect the lives of children in the womb after 20 weeks, at the point when babies can feel pain. This all happened just hours before the arrival of Pope Francis in Washington, D.C. Now Democrats are giddily anticipating a speech before a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday where Pope Francis will supposedly chastise Republicans on climate change.
This is going to be epic. The Democrats are completely unaware of what’s about to happen. Pope Francis is about to blow their minds.
Throughout his papacy, the Left has been convinced that Pope Francis is on their side and that he has become a mouthpiece for their ideas. The Democrats are so convinced that Pope Francis supports their platform of ideas that they are willing to block a bill to protect life, in hopes that he may comment on it and show support for their position while he is here.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Pope Francis’ visit to Congress is “thrilling beyond words.” Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley confidently affirms that “Pope Francis a Democrat.” This is hilarious. Their ill-placed confidence shows just how out of touch they are with Pope Francis’ teachings and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
FACT: Pope Francis has never strayed on the Church’s teaching on abortion, and in fact, he consistently lays the smackdown the issue of abortion.
