GDP Growth Misses the Mark Just Before Election.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth missed expectations in the third quarter. The concerning economic data comes just a week before the 2024 U.S. presidential election—though it is unclear how much of an impact the news could have on voters.

The consensus expectations for GDP growth in the third quarter were 3.1 percent. However, the final growth number came in just shy of 2.8 percent. In the second quarter, the economy grew at a rate of three percent.

Additionally, there are some concerns that inflation could be accelerating again. The Core Personal Consumption Expenditures (Core PCE) came in at 2.2 percent, above the 2.1 percent expectation. Core PCE is one of several inflation measures used by the Federal Reserve to monitor and determine price conditions in the United States.

THE FED.

In September, the Federal Reserve announced a relatively unprecedented 50 basis point (bps) rate cut after the Biden-Harris government was forced to admit its job growth numbers had significantly overestimated the strength of the American labor market. This marked the first time the central bank has reduced rates since 2020.

It should be noted that past 50 bps cuts by the central bank have often signaled a looming recession. Concerningly, an anonymous vote of the Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) suggests the central bank will cut rates by an additional 50 bps before the end of the year. Combined, this would be the largest rate cut over such a short period in 16 years.

The new inflation data, however, may force the Federal Reserve to back down from a second rate cut—as several members of its FOMC remain skittish about resurgent inflation. The third quarter economic data also suggests personal consumption is increasing—though that is to be expected heading into the U.S. holiday season.

SCOTUS Trump decision

BREAKING: SCOTUS Rules Virginia Can Continue to Remove Noncitizens from Voter Rolls.

The United States Supreme Court has ruled that Virginia can continue to remove noncitizen voters from its state voter rolls, reversing a lower court decision stemming from a lawsuit brought by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ). Initial filed with Chief Justice John Roberts, the DOJ supplied a response to Virginia late yesterday with the full court issuing its ruling less than a day later on Wednesday morning.

“The application for stay presented to The Chief Justice and by him referred to the Court is granted. The October 25, 2024 order of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia… is stayed pending the disposition of the appeal…,” the Supreme Court’s order reads. Only Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented.

In 2006, then-Governor Tim Kaine (D-VA) signed legislation allowing the state to remove noncitizens from its voter rolls. Despite being on the books for nearly two decades, the DOJ has not challenged that law until now. On Sunday night, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares (R) filed an emergency stay request with the Supreme Court. Chief Justice Roberts accepted the filing and gave the DOJ until yesterday at 3PM to respond.

Pursuant to the ruling, Virginia election officials will be allowed to continue to remove self-identified noncitizen voters from the state’s rolls with just a week left before the 2024 presidential election.

WaPo Drops Near 10% of Its Subscribers After Bezos Blocks Harris Endorsement.

The Washington Post is facing a revolt not only among its staff and editorial board but also among its most anti-Trump subscribers. Following the newspaper’s decision—influenced by owner and tech billionaire Jeff Bezos—not to endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential race, The Post has seen over 200,000 digital readers cancel their subscriptions as of Monday afternoon.

With a total readership estimated to be around 2.5 million, The Washington Post has seen nearly 10 percent of its total subscriber base evaporate in a matter of days. The Post has struggled to remain financially viable in recent years and largely relies on cash injections from Bezos to stay afloat.

THE NON-ENDORSEMENT.

Late last week, the newspaper—whose slogan, adopted in 2017 in protest of President Donald J. Trump, is “Democracy Dies in Darkness”—shocked the American political landscape when it declined to make a presidential endorsement for the first time since 1988. Will Lewis, the newspaper’s Chief Executive and Publisher, justified the decision as a move to reaffirm The Post’s independence.

Meanwhile, management at The Washington Post is reportedly concerned that the cancellations will continue to rise with its left-wing readership unsated. Marcus Brauchli, former Executive Editor of The Post, described the cancellations as significant and suggested a lack of communication and transparency by Bezos and Lewis regarding the endorsement decision is fueling the anger.

“The problem is, people don’t know why the decision was made. We basically know the decision was made but we don’t know what led to it,” Brauchli said in a recent interview with NPR. However, the former Executive Editor cautions subscribers from acting rashly, arguing: “It is a way to send a message to ownership but it shoots you in the foot if you care about the kind of in-depth, quality journalism like The Post produces.”

STAFF JUMP SHIP.

Meanwhile, the internal strife at The Washington Post is becoming increasingly untenable as well. At least two columnists and two editorial board members have resigned in protest. Molly Roberts, an eight-year veteran of the newspaper, quit on Monday, and fellow board member David Hoffman is said to be following suit. Additionally, columnist Michele Norris and editor-at-large Robert Kagan bolted from the paper over the weekend.

Kagan has gone on to insinuate that Bezos’s decision not to endorse is driven by business interests. He notes that Bezos-owned Blue Origin holds substantial NASA contracts and that the company allegedly met with Trump soon after the endorsement decision became public.

Dem Operative Appears to Admit 2020 Steal on Hidden Camera.

Undercover footage of a Democrat operative in Georgia appears to confirm that a burst water pipe at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena during the 2020 election was used to send Republican election observers home while Democrats remained and supervised counting—which resumed promptly after their counterparts had left. Additionally, the operative states that Democrats engaged in legally dubious ballot harvesting tactics, specifically targeting elderly care facilities in the lead-up to the election.

Stephen Crowder and his team posted footage of Joel Caldwell, the Operations Director for the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda, on X (formerly Twitter) on October 28. In the footage, Caldwell states that it was easier to steal an election by inflating vote totals for Democrats in areas that were already heavily Democratic to avoid raising suspicions.

BALLOT HARVESTING & BURST PIPES.

Caldwell alludes to potentially illegal ballot harvesting activities, claiming a “man pulled up and put a hundred ballots in [a] box. You can’t do that sh*t.” He stated, “Groups [were] paying people to do just that. Drop off ballots. Go around collecting ballots [and] forge them.”

He also discusses the circumstances surrounding an alleged burst water pipe in Atlanta during the 2020 presidential election that caused counters to stop counting ballots at the State Farm arena after they were evacuated.

Caldwell notes that the Democrat observers returned to the venue and had workers resume counting while Republicans had left. He states in the video that only 100 votes were recorded for President Donald J. Trump in one specific locality, claiming the number was statistically impossible.

“Statistically, you’re downtown. There’s going to be more than a hundred votes for Trump,” he said.

Fulton County has been a significant focus of allegations of election fraud. However, Georgia’s top election official, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, has resisted efforts to spearhead major election integrity efforts.

The National Pulse previously reported that Raffensperger is instead fundraising for a group that targets activists and officials raising alarms over voter fraud.

Ballot Drop Boxes Set on Fire.

At least two allegedly secure ballot drop boxes have been set on fire in Oregon and Washington State—destroying an unknown number of ballots contained inside. The most recent incident, in Clark County, Washington, saw a ballot drop box billowing smoke as numerous ballots burned in the early morning hours on Monday.

Concerningly, Clark County sits in the hotly contested 3rd Congressional District, currently held by Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA). However, President Donald J. Trump won the district during the 2020 presidential election. The race is currently a toss-up between Gluesenkamp Perez and her Republican challenger, Joe Kent, a United States Army Special Forces veteran.

“This morning at about 4:00 AM, Vancouver Police responded to an arson at a ballot box located at 3510 SE 164th Ave. It was reported that the ballot box was smoking and on fire,” local police confirmed in a statement. They added: “Officers arrived and located a suspicious device next to the box. The ballot box was smoking and was on fire. Members of the Metro Explosive Disposal Unit (MEDU) arrived and safely collected the device, and the fire was extinguished.”

The preliminary report reveals that an incendiary device appears to have set the fire. At the moment, no suspect or motivation for the fire has been identified. According to the Clark County elections auditor, hundreds of ballots were in the drop box at the time of the fire, as the last pickup occurred at 11 AM on Saturday.

With many states expanding their early and mail-in voting timelines, election officials have insisted that ballot drop boxes are safe, secure, and adequately monitored. However, the two fires in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, undermine this assertion.

Network News Tips Scales for Kamala, Watchdog Says.

Major corporate media networks are attempting to interfere more heavily in the 2024 presidential election than in past races. According to data from the Media Research Center (MRC), broadcast news coverage of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris‘s respect campaigns has been almost entirely favorable for the latter and negative for the former.

“Since July, ABC, CBS, and NBC have treated Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris to 78 percent positive coverage, while these same networks have pummeled former Republican President Donald Trump with 85 percent negative coverage,” MRC says regarding their findings. The group notes their analysis is based on “explicitly evaluative statements about each candidate from either reporters, anchors or non-partisan sources such as experts or voters.”

The media watchdog group adds: “The difference in coverage between the two candidates is far greater than in 2016 when both Trump and then-challenger Hillary Clinton received mostly negative coverage (91 percent negative for Trump, vs. 79 percent negative for Clinton). It’s even greater than in 2020, when Joe Biden was treated to 66 percent positive coverage, vs. 92 percent negative for Trump.”

MRC’s analysis shows that since July, news coverage—mainly from ABC, NBC, and CBS—has included 230 minutes of negative stories about Trump and various allegations made against the former Republican president. Conversely, the networks have provided only minimal coverage of any controversies regarding Harris.

In fact, MRC found that 31 percent of network news airtime has been focused on negative stories regarding personal controversies. Meanwhile, just five percent of airtime was dedicated to similar topics regarding Harris.

The two most covered issues regarding Trump were the January 6 Capitol riots and allegations leveled by Harris—and other top Democrats—accusing Trump of being a “fascist” and “a danger to democracy.”

AOC Admits Her ‘Resistance’ Antics Are ‘Nonsense.’

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appears to be admitting her “resistance” antics under President Donald J. Trump were “nonsense” and apparently just a stunt to sway public opinion. During a Twitch live stream on Sunday, where Ocasio-Cortez squared off against 2024 Democratic Party vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) in a game of Madden NFL, the New York Democrat pleaded with supporters to back Kamala Harris so she wouldn’t have to go through the resistance act again.

“Sorry, it got a little intense here, but it’s ’cause we’re eight days out from an election, and I’m losing my mind. And I’ve got a little smoke coming out the top of my head,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said while both she and Walz struggled to run plays in the popular football game simulator. She added: “Get it together! Cast your vote so we can be done with this! I do not want to do four more years of resistance nonsense under Donald Trump, okay?”

Continuing, Ocasio-Cortez recalled the constant state of turmoil she associated with Trump’s presidency, rhetorically asking, “Do we remember what it was like waking up every day and there being some stuff going on?”

Famously, Ocasio-Cortez was photographed crying outside an illegal immigrant detention facility in El Paso, Texas, as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. The photos, where she appears to exaggerate her emotions for the camera, were widely lampooned by conservatives and those supporting tougher border security.

The Twitch livestream event—ill-timed as it occurred during actual nationally televised NFL gameplay—was ostensibly an attempt by the Harris campaign to boost support among young male voters. Democrats fear this demographic is backing President Donald J. Trump at far higher margins than in past elections and could prove pivotal in deciding several critical battleground states.

Trump Campaign Aide Says Their HQ Conference Room is ‘Bugged.’

A whistleblower recently associated with the 2024 Trump presidential campaign alleges senior staff have pilfered campaign funds and installed listening devices in a conference room to spy on colleagues. The woman, who spoke anonymously but whose identity is known to The National Pulse, says Trump campaign leadership fired her after she raised concerns about “grift and greed” and the “bugging” plot—both she says are perpetrated by campaign chiefs Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles.

“The grift and greed I’ve witnessed makes me sick, and I think leadership has been bad stewards of generous donors money,” she wrote to a colleague after being fired by the campaign less than two weeks ago. The whistleblower continues: “I‘m 100% on Team Trump—I want the very best for this campaign, but what I’ve witnessed is greedy and wrong.”

According to the Daily Beast, the woman claims LaCivita and Wiles have diverted millions in campaign money to vendors who are overcharging for their services. Concerningly, the former campaign worker says at least one vendor is run by a major donor to Kamala Harris‘s presidential campaign.

The whistleblower asserts that Sean Dollman, the Trump campaign’s chief financial officer, had a conference room at the West Palm Beach campaign headquarters swept for listening devices. She alleges that the campaign CFO “has alluded to the fact that he can’t say things for fear of retaliation.” Additionally, the woman claims in her email: “There are napkins stuffed in all the gaps in the conference room now. It seems like they’re willing to go to extremes.”

Responding to the allegations, a senior staffer with the Trump campaign told the Daily Beast: “This is nothing more than fanciful lies and fabrications from a disgruntled former employee of a vendor, and this person apparently was a terrible teammate who also disclosed private, internal information to outside individuals.”

‘Newly Invigorated Bannon’ Ready to Take the Fight to the Deep State – ‘Every Word Will Matter.’

Former Trump White House Chief Strategist and War Room host Stephen K. Bannon is set to be released from Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury—a federal prison in suburban Connecticut—on Tuesday. In a recent interview with NOTUS, The National Pulse’s Editor-in-Chief, Raheem Kassam, detailed what he thinks Bannon’s next moves will be as a free man.

“Expect to see a newly invigorated Stephen K. Bannon, more intent than ever to take his fight to the administrative state,” Kassam said, noting he has been in touch with Bannon almost every day of his incarceration. Kassam added: “I would not be surprised to see him immediately hitting the campaign trail, as well as hosting his War Room show for four hours each day. Every second will count. Every word will matter.”

Screenshot

Bannon was sent to the federal prison facility as a result of the Democratic Party’s lawfare campaign against President Donald J. Trump and his allies. Specifically, Bannon was held in contempt of Congress over his refusal to cooperate with the January 6 Committee—which some legal experts contend was illegally constituted by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). On the inside of FCI Danbury, Bannon has reportedly fielded a bevy of questions from the other inmates regarding politics, Trump, and the upcoming election.

At the time of his incarceration, Kassam argued that Bannon was specifically targeted by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) because he “actually gets people up off their couches, up off their seats; helps them to register for precinct strategy; helps them to register for canvassing and campaigning.” With his release from prison just days before the November 5 election, many expect Bannon to inject a final boost of energy into the Trump campaign.

VA Asks SCOTUS to Block a Biden-Harris Push to Allow Noncitizens to Vote.

The Commonwealth of Virginia filed an emergency stay with the United States Supreme Court on Sunday night, asking that it block a ruling by a Biden-Harris-appointed federal judge barring the state from removing noncitizens from its voter rolls. Late last week, a federal district court ordered the state to halt the removal of over 1,500 individuals who have self-identified as noncitizens from state voter lists.

In 2006, then-Governor Tim Kaine (D-VA) signed legislation allowing the state to remove noncitizens from its voter rolls. Despite being on the books for nearly two decades, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has not challenged that law until now.

The emergency stay request, filed by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares (R), is now on the Supreme Court’s docket. Chief Justice John Roberts will likely decide whether the stay request will move forward and be heard by the full court, which could happen within hours.

According to the original lawsuit filed by the Biden-Harris DOJ, removing noncitizen voters from the Virginia voter roll violates Section 8(c)(2) of the NVRA, also known as the Quiet Period Provision. This provision “requires states to complete systematic programs aimed at removing the names of ineligible voters from voter registration lists no later than 90 days before federal elections,” the DOJ contends.

However, Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) counters that the state law has been in force since 2006 and that the state’s same-day registration rules allow any potential legal voter caught up in the noncitizen removals to cast a provisional ballot on election day. “Virginians—and Americans—will see this for exactly what it is: a desperate attempt to attack the legitimacy of the elections in the Commonwealth, the very crucible of American Democracy,” Youngkin said, blasting the DOJ lawsuit.
